Part twenty Three begins ...

Dagoth almost holds in a laugh. 'Err..... no wine.. can't drink..... HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! And they say lichs have no humor!! HAHAHA!!.'

Posted by: Sheogorath Jan 12 2005, 04:57 AM

Summary:

Lord Dres Jazbet, Khajiit knight of House Dres, is in Loranna's quarters on her ship with her and Dagoth Lich, drinking wine.

Elysana, Queen of Wayrest, is also on the ship, undercover as Lady Farrine of High Rock. She has been watching Allerleirauh, who she remembers from years ago, waiting for an opportunity to speak to her in private.

Bosriel, the little dark-haired girl, the Void Vampire, is alone in the Void.

Summmary: Loranna, after a private moment with Dagoth and an intense audience with Ciel and Tris, has decided upon her course of action for Vivec. She awaits a chance to talk with Allie and now chats with Jazbet and Dagoth.

===

Loranna coughs as Dagoth says the word lich, giving both a 'keep it down you two loony bins' look - but she is smiling.

"Been singing with Arynel?" she asks, eyebrows raised. "I've always wondered how he would sound while singing a duet ..."

Her eyes twinkle at the mention of swimming.

Phyrdalion holds the gem and tries to look into it. He is blinded until releasing the gem. "I don't know, search yourself, and search the web. Mephala was never known for simplicity. But now we have more important issue to attend to, we must prepare for a visit from the fair lady." the two went off to do their business.

Jazbet laughed also. "They are clearly wrong. A pity though. Sounds like the sort of thing an alchemist could work on ..."

"I'd characterize his sound as unhappy," the Khajiit says, smiling. "He seems to fancy himself more of a soloist. Poor Allerleirauh."

Zaldaar stands and exits his cabin. The boat is rocking gently and a soft breeze blows. Zaldaar smiles at the sites. He rarely has time to just watch for enjoyment any longer, he was always so busy. Zaldaar relaxed and let his mind wander.

... I think we're still a little sensitive to one another after earlier, she says to Dagoth, making sure she's speaking mentally.

"You're welcome, my Lady.

"Leaving so soon, though? It's such a long trip, and I'm sure Vivec will be a party not to be missed.

"He might at that," Loranna agrees, gently guiding Jazbet over to the seating accomodations in her cabin.

"Behold my glorious throne," she smirks, indicating the wooden plank and the stool that serve as places to rest one's feet. " ... And Dagoth is right - to a degree. It takes some people a bit longer to get used to him than others though, you'll appreciate."

She winks at Dagoth.

" ... Sigh; I am lucky to have both of you," she says, smiling, her thoughts keeping watch to make sure their conversation is private.

"Do you?" the Queen says with a nod. "Perhaps. War often has good long term benefits. You don't think Helseth will embrace the Incarnate, do you?"

Zaldaar smiled as he eaves dropped on the conversation. He skillfully hid himself from Loranna's own thoughts. This was getting interesting. Zaldaar, however, wasn't going to listen the whole time. He wasn't a pervert. This was interesting however.

Loranna waves good bye to Dagoth, and turns to look at Jazbet, her expression happy but determined.

... This one thing, you should be told, serious or no, she tells him. It affects you - it affects us all but telling everyone in advance will only mess things up - so I'm telling those closest to me, beforehand.

... I've been reminded today of a promise I made back in Skyrim, a promise I should have acted to keep long before this point. When we reach Vivec, I'm going to keep that promise; I'm going to turn myself over to the authorities and ask to be put on trial for the havoc and devestation I caused, both here and in Skyrim. I'm going to renounce my role as Incarnate and instead petition to be found worthy of the atonement of undoing the harm I've caused, for the rest of my life if need be.

... As you can imagine, that's going to put me at odds with .. .a few people. I strongly suspect I'll need to be restrained with some force to fulfill this promise. I want you to know this so you know that what will happen will be my will - mine, the girl the Nord Demon the Goddess that you most worship - and so you don't find yourself being the noble knight you are for the wrong purpose.

Jazbet listened to her, and didn't grin anymore.

I won't try to dissuade you. It is not a pretty image, you in prison, but you have made up your mind. That was the hard part. Now, we need to talk about how you and your child can survive locked up ... You must tell them that the terms of your surrender include good, healthful food; a glass of wine every two days; regular times when you can get out into the sun and get exercise; and ... visits from friends ... such as me ...

Loranna nods. ... My promise was to have my child be born safely here in Morrowind, as well as to accept what I have done and what must be done to make things right. Sen-Yedda will be okay; if nothing else Allie will insist on half those conditions you mentioned, and woe betide anyone who dares tell HER this pregnant prisoner's going to be treated roughly ...

Loranna gives a brief, wide grin.

... The Temple is also set on seeing Sen-Yedda be born; she's to be their new Goddess, remember? I'm surrendering in Vivec, the seat of the Temple's power; they'll want me to be kept safe for the baby's sake as well.

As for the ... less Sen-Yedda oriented requests ...

QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Jan 11 2005, 11:59 PM)

"The fact is that this stone you speaking of, Helseth, was in Vivec only a few days ago, right where this fleet is sailing," Elysana said. "He may not be there now, but he can't be very far away, close enough to roll over us as he falls ... As far support, I have invested heavily in this enterprise, and I would be loathe to pull it all away at a loss of profit.  But I am afraid that this cult is where Helseth's eye is directed now.  He may lose the battle with the Temple, but he has his arrow cocked at the weakest runt in the litter ... Which is here ..."

Aricyn's white eyebrow raised.

"We aren't such runts here as you seem to suspect, my Lady.

"I would also think that someone that hails from your home in High Rock would agree with me that a strong cult of Azura, backed by the Tribunal, with the power to easily crush the king and securely rule Morrowind, would be no better than the king simply remaining in charge.

"Security kills opportunity.

"Or," he said, lowering his voice, "am I mistaken, and this is nothing but personal revenge on your part?"

"About bloody time you got back," Rathryon grumbled irritably, getting to his feet and walking through the doorway into the castle, 'Helseth, styling himself King of Morrowind. Well, I must do this to ensure that Loranna's treachery will be countered. Above all else she must not be allowed to destroy the Dunmer.'

QUOTE(Loranna @ Jan 12 2005, 12:09 AM)

I'm glad too ...

Loranna breathes deeply, her eyes getting a hungry, nurturing, kindly, longing, loving look ...

"Jazbet," she says, smiling as she reaches for the hem of her blouse, "make love to me."

*

They made love, Jazbet and Loranna. Though he saw shades of Azura and the Nord Demon in her eyes, it was man and woman, in the little room in the gently rocking ship.

It was slow and tender, sometimes tentative, and sometimes they both fell into laughter, when a supplicant knocked on the door, asking if Loranna needed anything.

It was passionate. It was shattering.

He knew how to make love. Sometimes he called himself, with self-mockery, an artist in such matters. But he never thought it could be like this. It was a masterpiece.

Aricyn had been ... not what she thought, not what she ultimately wanted, but in his own way passionate and potent. Dagoth had been giving and loving, the strength of his feelings surpassing any embrace she had ever had prior to that point.

... Jazbet was all of that - desired, passionate, potent, giving and loving. He was gentle when gentleness was called for; he was forward when the time was right. He knew what he was doing ...

... and so did Loranna - at least, in each passing moment.

Even the woman had a multitude of desires; her eyes swallowed him up as though wanting his entire being inside of her, her hands caressed as though her whole purpose in life was to give him comfort, her lips sought lovers kisses on equal footing, her smile asked only for companionship and laughter, her tears held the scent of longing that never faded no matter how many times she returned to the well of his feelings.

She hugged him as though to hold him forever; she sang softly to him as though to give him what gift from her heart she could offer.

She lost track of time again ...

"I appreciate your concern, your information, and your help.

"This cult, as you call it, is like the local wildlife, though; the brain might not necessarily rest in the head. I would not take your findings too much to heart.

"I think," Aricyn said, watching the people on deck closely, "that the subject of the sea and the weather might be better suited to such close-quarters as these, though, my Lady.

"If you'll excuse me, I'll take my leave. I would very much like to continue our conversation at a later date, though. Perhaps over a quiet dinner."

Rathryon said in his best approximation of a diplomatic tone. Allerleirauh:

Allerleirauh had noticed Arynel's conversation with Aricyn, and his departure. She wondered if he knew how difficult it was to get back aboard a moving vessel. But... he had his own plans. That was why she loved him. She remembered - it seemed a long time ago now - the first night she had met him. Getting dressed. And tucking a scented handkerchief in her bosom with the words, "After Vivec, all these men will seem like kerchiefs you could fold and tuck in your bosom!"

Well, Arynel remained stubbornly unfolded. Though, perhaps, a little wrinkled.

She had glimpsed Tris and what must be Ciel earlier. The sight of Tris tore her heart. But less than it might have. He was in love, clearly, and so... as unlikely as it seemed... she was happy for him.

Boats were too crowded. She sought a private section of railing from which to watch the water passing below.

The boat rocked, and Elysana gripped the railing to catch herself. She saw Allerleirauh a moment before the woman turned and saw her. After waiting some time for a moment to catch her alone, it was suddenly almost too soon.

It took a moment for Allerleirauh to place her. She had never seen Elysana in the daylight, after all, only in the grand hall of the Palace of Wayrest. One of her favorite palaces, with its grand double staircase. Now demolished.

Elysana had been a young woman then, very attractive, in a blonde, blowsy way. Cultivating an air of kittenish helplessness. She was still blonde, but dignified rather than blowsy, and her appearance no longer even slightly suggested helplessness.

She was clearly not here as the Queen of Wayrest. To greet her formally would be to arouse suspicions.

"You should tell me yours," Allerleirauh said, smiling. "The years have improved you. I hope your family is well?"

Later ...

Again, they lost track of time ... however, eventually, reality reminds Loranna that as much as her heart wants her to do everything under the sun, she has certain physical restrictions right now that even Khajiit wisdom cannot overcome.

" ... I think," she says after her most recent turn, "that's all I can handle for tonight."

She reaches over to loosely hold Jazbet's hand, her expression quietly adoring. The fear from before is mostly subdued this time.

‘Oh, the teacher has become the student, in more ways than one,’ the Khajiit chuckled.

'I do have one thing to say to you, which is serious, even for me,’ said Jazbet, who was still smiling nevertheless. ‘What you don’t see, but I can, is that Azura is not your antagonist. I see and I feel her strength and power in you. Don’t let her control you – like I said, a Goddess cannot give birth, only a woman can. But you can call on her. I saw you do it unconsciously today. And for your own sake, and the sake of Sen-Yedda, don’t forget that power.

'You know I will be with you when I can, and Dagoth, of course, too; but remember, you have a crutch to lean on within you. She will keep you from feeling some of the pain and sadness which I know you sometimes feel.’

"I go where the action is, as always. As for my age - I have good blood. I've seen your beloved brother, in fact, several months ago, during this Incarnate business. He's rash and paranoid as ever, thus a perfect king for the Dunmer. I pity anyone else who tries to rule this place."

Her words had a double meaning, of course, but she said them lightly.

‘I’ve seen him recently too,’ said the Queen. ‘A most satisfactory meeting where he burbled and cursed about this cult. Why he cares so much about this scruffy kingdom of his is a wonder to me. I mean, the sheer acreage is impressive, but really ... Of course, then I had to see with my own eyes the thorn in his side, but until I saw you, I didn’t think it had much of a fighting chance. QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Jan 12 2005, 02:23 AM)

*

Loranna frowns slightly.

" ... Azura ..." she says quietly " ... Azura doesn't bear malice as we understand it. She simply is what she is, does what she must do."

" ... The thing is, the longer she's in me, the worse it is for her as well - so long as she and I are together like this, we're each keeping the other from truly being what we're meant to be. That ... that hurts things, on a level even I don't fully grasp yet."

She closes her eyes, and leans on Jazbet's chest. " ... I'm not doing things according to her will anymore, but ultimately I'm doing this for her as much as for the rest of us. She has to go home, for her sake and for everyone's, so that she can be Azura - not the restrained, not-quite-Azura she is now because of my own nature."

Her frown becomes thoughtful. " ... My desires and moods did change like dusk and dawn though, now that you mention it. Perhaps you have a point - but still, keep your head down when we reach Vivec, love."

"I'm losing money here," Allerleirauh said, smiling. "I had to lay out more cash than I could easily afford just to care for the orphans of Skyrim. But I'm not here for the money. I'm here for my own reasons, as mad as anyone else's. Loranna is a personal friend. And Lord Vivec, before his departure, was my lover. As for our fighting chances... the good money, if it comes to a fight, is on Loranna living, and many many others perishing miserably, for no good reason at all. Let's hope enlightenment comes at the moment of death, for it's certainly elusive earlier."

'Then perhaps it is the Nord-Demon I see in you,' said Jazbet, kissing her. 'I am sorry, I didn't mean to make you frown. You are on a throne now, and people will blame you for everything that has gone wrong with their lives. And you are human, and it will hurt you. Without being elusive myself, I should tell you what I told Aricyn. Helseth is on Vvardenfell, and he is a caged animal. Count on him to act when you get too close. Loranna smiles at Jazbet, kissing him softly on the lips.

"I smile and frown as often as night turns to day," she tells him, playing with his hair. "But that's an aspect of me, that happens to mirror the Goddess's nature. Maybe having had her within me for so long has rubbed off, or maybe it was always there and the possession has simply heightened it, but it's ultimately me."

" ... I won't let Sen-Yedda be hurt. She's already so strong herself I sometimes wonder if she's not been shielding me sometimes ... but I won't let her be hurt."

Loranna sighs. "Whatever happens, my future is clear to me now - in general if not in particulars. That's a strength in of itself."

" ... I like being held all night, but this one night I have more on my mind than even a lover's embrace can easily melt away," she says, giving Jazbet a sad smile.

"I think maybe the Incarnate should get some fresh air. She has only a few days left in this world before she's done away with by the woman who lies inside her, waiting to take responsibility for the things the Incarnate couldn't. I think the Incarnate deserves a little fresh air before that comes to pass."

Loranna snorts a bit, smirking and fixing herself up in short order.

"I wouldn't get too attached to this power; by all signs it's Sen-Yedda's, not mine," she says, helping Jazbet up and into his clothes before letting him help her into hers.

An untended pot bubbled suspended over a brazier filled with burning coals. Tools and bits of mechanisms were strewn about across walkway as if a child had been playing there moments earlier. Metal plates, partially reshaped, formed like domes or bowls of gold and blue lay still and longing for further working. A small pile of books sat off to a side, a variety of bookmarks and sheets of paper protruded from their pages. Bottles of ink lay scattered about. One lay on its side perilously close to the lip of the reservoir. A slight breeze would have been enough to roll it over, but no breeze entered the great dome. It was all alone in the whirring and clicking echoes of spinning gears.

Loranna sighs quietly.

I'm not out to make a fool of you love, she says softly. ... If I feel there's no more spark between us, I'll say something. Like I told Dagoth, love can be a prison - but we each have the key to that prison in our own hearts, and even though I just tried to eatt you alive, I won't imprison you if I can help it.

... But for right now, we're lovers, and that's more precious than almost anything I can think of. Only the baby inside me could top that ... and even then - well, why compare? You're not competing with her.

Loranna looks to Jazbet. I'm going to go take a walk on the top deck. I'll see you later love; thank you for being here, and being you.

Loranna quietly makes her way topside ...

Dante had wandered off and was talking to several Azura worshippers on the otherside of the deck, Illidan meanwhile, had spotted a lute, leaning up against the mast of the ship, seazing the oppurtunity he snatched up the lute and sat up on a nearby crate.

He began to play out a few soft, mellow tones on the lute, then, he began to softly sing:
I close my eyes,
Only for a moment,
And the moments gone...
All, my, dreams...
Pass before my eyes in curiosity....
All we are is dust in the wind.....
Nothing else but dust in the wind....

Elysana lost her smile, but she did not frown. Her face was simply still as she looked out to the water. ‘Were you there? That’s interesting. In that case, certainly he and his troops might have been killed. But I have retreated from battle before. I may take my troops and retreat soon as we reach Vivec, I do not know. "Stupid he may have been. His orders, as he expressed them to me, were to bring Loranna to justice." Allerleirauh gestured with her hands, taking in the several ships, and the absurdity of such an idea. "I think, though, that he was simply sentimental. The sight of so much death affected him deeply. There were many children in Skyrim who died. You sent out a passionless soldier; the man who spoke to me on the battleground was something else. Perhaps you were right to kill him; passionate soldiers can be dangerous. But when I last spoke with him, he still loved his country and his Queen.

"I'm surprised to hear that he attempted to escape, since he returned to you freely - and it was his belief, the last time he spoke to Loranna, that you would have him executed as soon as he arrived. His nerve must have given way, at the last. What a pity. Still, it's ill luck to speak badly of the dead."

She turned her face into the wind, letting the coolness play off her cheekbones and forehead, heated by the sun.

"It's even worse luck to meddle with Daedra. Those are battles no one ever wins. You haven't asked for my advice, but if you want it - go home. Let Helseth waste his strength and his substance battling a thing without a head. Let him bring ruin to his own country by pitting the secular against the faithful. And then - stay where you are, in pleasant climes where beasts have proper fur and feathers, and laugh at him. Don't even reach out your hand to push him as he falls, or your foot to kick him when he lies sprawling. Because that foolish girl really does house the Daedra Prince Azura, and we'll be lucky if any of us get out of this intact."

Tris's Journal, 12th Morning Star
Vivec, Foreign Canton

He's not a demonstrative person at all - not the sort who puts feelings into words. He's a lot older than I am. Usually unless my leg is bothering me I wake up after he does. He teases me about that. But right now he's sleeping and I'm awake.

No natural light enters here - it could be noon outside, or midnight. Crazy city, Vivec - like a tomb - I wonder what it was like when Vivec lived here. There's a cheap printed copy of the Sermons, left by another traveler, so I've been reading the part about the Buoyant Armigers. Apparently Vivec thought that the best guy to have at your back was one who could share a good joke, and a good lay. I've heard worse theories.

Without a beard Ciel looks both younger and older. Younger because I can see the outlines of his face, older because you can see the looseness of the skin under his strong jaw, the roughness of the skin of his cheeks. His head hair is grizzled but his chest hair is entirely grey. I have no chest hair to speak of, just a few stragglers making their way up in a line from my belly. A lot of Dibellans shave or pluck it but that seems too poncy even for me.

He's dreaming now. I know this part never lasts but I love it. Watching his eyes move beneath the lids I can feel the world hammered out in sheets of fiery gold. The hairs all down my arm are standing up, just from watching him sleep.

Write more later.

Allerleirauh had no other business; but she knew a polite withdrawal from conversation when she heard one.

"Another time then, your majesty," she said, inclining her head.

The air outside was a little cooler than she had thought it would be, and tickled her nostrils, but only for a couple of moments. It was, after all, nothing like the cold air in Skyrim.

... I miss Skyrim ... Loranna thinks sadly. I miss the snow and the cold. Morrowind is nice in its own way but ... I think I prefer snow to ash, my skin notwithstanding.

The sky was clear though, and the water below soothing to look upon; Loranna's thoughts slowly settled down - not stopping, but becoming calmer, more relaxed. A small smile graces her lips as she watches the water, thinking on her upcoming plans and the still rather strong possibility that it won't just be the Incarnate who dies in her body at Vivec but the rest of her as well.

... This should have been done sooner, but there's little point in dwelling on that, she thinks. It's going to be done now - that it's being done at all is the important thing.

The ship sails onward, and the mood continues to be bright. The motion of the water is gentle, the breeze refreshing, and people seem to be very comfortable, settling in. Very comfortable.

There is more space to move on the ship, for one. A couple people, such as Ciel and Tris, have left, but it might be noted, by especially observant people, that there are more people missing than that. At least a half dozen guards seem to have vanished without a trace. No one of any importance, of course, no one whose name you know, but if the crowd looks thinner, and there are more private places to talk, that is the reason why ...

A few hours after Dagoth had left Loranna and Jazbet to their own devices, he began to feel the all too familiar taunting in his head..... the voice of the creature. {love someone more she does..... not good enough you are....... kill the other you must....} 'Arrggh..... I thought I was done with you creature. I will not kill that Khajiit...... Loranna loves us both.... each in a different but equal way.' {fool yourself you do..... in your head you know..... be the only one you want to......} 'Quiet creature, I am not going to ruin her happiness..... I don't feel jealousy.' {believe what you will...... if kill the other you won't..... than lose her you will.....} That last thing struck an etherial nerve...... but the feeling that Loranna's contact with his soul left behind came forward again..... 'Begone creature..... don't come back.... you hold no longer have a presence in me.'

And with that, the creature left again. And this time, Dagoth came through with a stronger resolve.

"I swear, we've been sitting on this blasted meat for hours, perhaps even days! Eating nothing but meat, watching nothing but meat, and smelling nothing but meat! Meat, meat, meat!"

"Is that a problem, puppet?"

"Oh, your so perceptive Celezar..."

"Why thankyou."

"Your really that dull, arent you?"

"Excuse me?"

"We're going to die in this bloody meat if we dont have something to drink soon!"

"Oh yes, puppet...I am quite thirsty..."

"How on Mundus are we going to get some ale, perhaps wine? Ride our bloody meat up the side of the boat and ask the captain where the kitchen is?!"

*Celezar pounded the sides of his meat mount in anger*

"Ah, puppet, you underestimate me..."

*Celezar produces, seemingly from thin air, a large floppy hat*

"Producing hats out of thin air...thats new."

"Oh, dont be ridiculous, puppet, no one can do that!"

"Then what did I just witness?"

"I'm not even going to answer that..."

*Celezar fastens the hat upon his head, its droopy edges hiding his face from site. Slowly his meat mount stretches upward, forming a form of elevator to the deck of the large ship*

Reichi noted the sun's location. By the time the ship reached Vivec, it would be early nightfall, or dusk at the least. He wondered if the Arena had any good fights going on. The Arena was always a fun place to fight. Or to watch fights. Reichi had fought in it before, challenged by a Redoran noble after he had assassinated his sister for the Morag Tong. Reichi had barely won. Maybe if the noble hadn't used Daedric greeves he might have won. The design of the greeves, tended to drive your opponents blade into your thighs.

Reichi yawned and sat down on a barrel.

*Slowly the meat mount had raised Celezar to the ship's deck, allowing him easily step off his meaty creation and onto the deck as the meat mount sank back into the shadows. A Dunmer sat there, his eyes wide in amazment, apparently he had witnessed Celezar's entrance*

"Did you just-"

"No."

"But I saw-"

"No."

"Then what-"

"Quiet."

*Celezar pulled his had further over his face as he brushed past the dumbfounded shipmate, patting him on the cheek reasuringly as I he did so*

Reichi swore he could still smell that meat from Suran. "Theres gotta be a open container of meat on this ship or something..." he mumbled.

Summary -

A whisper of wind blew out the candle. Dane sat there alone in the dark, the sound of the sea comforted him. He walked onto deck, Dane let his fingers graze the wooden railing as he strolled to the bow of the ship. Salt breezed by his lips

I've decided it's time I actually keep that promise I made back in Skyrim, and the one I made to myself on Tales and Tallows. Ill effects, that was all that Azrael had seen, felt, smelled, heard. He felt as though he had been, for so long, nothing more than a spinning wheel, pulling the fibers of his problematic life taut, watching as they were spun by a force controlling his every action, into a disturbing yarn--his life did not belong, not to him, not to any person. There was no definitive driver in his carriage, and one can easily feel uneasy at times like these.

Images in a mirror are not different from the mirror.
A dreamer is not different
from the figments of his dream.
So this world is not different from it's Mother.
It is Her dance, Her song, Her dream, Her vision;
Her terrible vision full of fire and bliss!

This path, he decided, was both his own, and not. All at once he felt weighed down by the choices he had to make, in relation to something he followed only because he felt at the end of his journey the word 'parent' might seem more familiar to him. He looked down at his father's dagger, and recalled a line his master would often quote, when he saw Azrael, his pupil, wandering through the void of his mind. . .

"You are not just what you think you are; you are more sublime, you are greater. Great and Divine light exists inside you. Inside, there is a vast world which is worth seeing. It's a sublime world., the external world is nothing."

This meant nothing to him then, but everything now. "If you have not lived through something, it is not true.", he muttered quitely to himself, ignoring the watchful eyes around him. He dug into himself with the blade, wondering, even after so long a time, if he was really here at all. "Have I lived through my life? If not, is any of this real at all?". Stinging his ears, he sat, looking at the ground, in the center of a small city on the outskirts of what he believed to be Vvardenfell, though he knew not for sure. A guard stared at him for a moment, drawing a blade, partially, unsure of the rather depressed Dunmer's mindset.

How had he not done this before? He thought to himself, Azrael, why he did not listen to what HE had to say before he had even dragged himself to this rock. He began muttering, once more, trying to find the words to describe the feelings inside, and then, a moment before he thrust the dagger in his right hand into his chest, it flashed once, across his eyes.

To many it is not given to hear of the self.
Many, though they hear of it, do not understand it.
Wonderful is he who speaks of it.
Intelligent is he who learns of it.
Blessed is he who, taught by a great Guru,
is able to understand it. . .

And as the blade pushed it's way beyond the strips of clothing covering his ribcage, piercing the ashened flesh, and eventually, his heart, a tear dropped from his eye, splashing lightly, but with thundering impact, on the ground below. "This life was not enough, perhaps in another. . ."

The wind whispered, as it played with his hair.

So... Ciel's journey, at least, has a resolution. I glimpsed Tris this morning; he's lost weight. I suppose it's difficult to stay at that physical level with only one foot. He's not speaking to me, though. It's difficult not to go to him.

It hardly matters what you do, you know. There's no court that will try you, unless you command it. Who do you plan to turn yourself in to?

Tris said he can't face you yet - though he asked me to talk to you about Elysana. He and Ciel have gone ahead to Vivec and hope to escape Elysana's eyes, lest Leseth fall upon them to prevent the Queen from being displeased.

... I think, from what Tris said, that Leseth is somehow beholden to Elysana, possibly due to the demon girl who attacked Dragon. I promised Tris I'd help divert Elysana away from all this to help protect Ciel's life, and ...

Sometimes people have to do certain things, no matter how unpleasant. Vehk appointed me Mercy, knowing that I wouldn't hold back, despite my love for him. If your trial is a good thing - and I think it may be, the only way to separate girl from goddess - then ask whoever you think can do the job.

Yes, I spoke to Elysana. She's quite a bit older than the last time I saw her. I'm hoping Ciel is no longer something she considers important.

Have you noticed that people are leaving the boat somehow?

*Celezar strolled off to a private, empty corner of the large ship, the moon glowed brightly above them and a coarse breeze blew along the deck, its how matching that of the turbulent waves below*

"Quite a fine night, if I do say so."

"Indeed, Celezar, I'm glad we decided to take this little joy ride."

*Celezar stood there long, sipping his wine calmly. Sudden heavy footsteps behind him made Celezar jump in shock, the steps were closely followed by the jingle of chains and the scuttling of little metal legs along the wooden surface of the deck*

"Hello little brother..."

*The voice was not unfamiliar, it brought some thought of recognition to Celezar's thoughtless mind, though the larger portion was consumed by parylizing fear. Nothing could have prepared Celezar for the horrors that awaited his reply. The wine glass dropped to the ground, and the red liquid ran like a river of blood*

Loranna frowns a little. ... It does seem a little less crowded than I recall when we embarked, she admits. Perhaps the Queen has decided to pull herself and her closest servants out? ...

As for who to ask then ... I think the people most qualified are those who have seen the transgressions in person, who have been laboring to do the right thing all along. You, Arynel, Solin ... Aricyn perhaps. ... Dagoth and Jazbet if they can be convinced to be impartial, since both of them also know me well - their testimony would help drive home the truest nature of my folly I think, when compared to the reports of the lives I've destroyed. And my own statement as well, though that will be more confessional than evidence. ... It's time I fully said how my heart feels about what I've done, so the truth of my heart is shown.

Ciel too if it's safe, and ... well, there's others we can ask too, perhaps. ... But definitely you, as you did for Vivec once before.

... She was planning on making the trial I asked for be a mockery somehow, you know,
Loranna adds. One last tweak of Vivec's nose. I won't let that happen.

Wayrest, High Rock

In the morning, Ryvad Castellian, the Queen's chief spymaster, had met with her council. Despite Elysana's absence in court, there was a well-maintained mechanism to keep the kingdom running smoothly. He and the Queen's Minister of War had then taken a tour around the site of the new palace. It was still hard to tell whether it was going to be magnificent or absurd, this dome she had eccentrically ordered built. The framework was in place, and artisans worked day and night building and building on it.

In the afternoon, Ryvad toiled in the coverted dungeon which was his temporary headquarters.

"What is this?" he wondered, looking at a new archeological report. He researched it thoroughly, and then sent word on so his sovereign would know what he had discovered.

A little tweaking won't harm Vehk's nose one bit. The thing that's difficult to remember about Vehk is how little he lets things bother him. But I'm curious to see what happens in a trial that's not a mockery, so I don't think we should indulge her this time.

Not every witness need be a judge, you know. We can call your darling lich and Jazbet to give testimony without requiring from them that they seek to condemn you. Because that's what the Tribunal does, in a Dunmer trial. They seek to condemn the victim, as best they can.

Ciel is dead. But the journal of a dead man will serve.

Aricyn - Aricyn has his own agenda here. I'm not sure I understand it, and I know you don't. I would definitely avoid involving him. Solin I can vouch for; he's entirely impartial. Arynel - well, you know what I think. But Arynel continues to surprise even me.

Geon wanted to laugh but held his tongue. It was strange, being in plain sight of everybody but no one could see him. The night air brushed by him as the ship sailed on towards Vivec. The occasional swaying forced him to grip hard to the mast. The yardarm rocked as the wind billowed the sail. He had an excellent view from his vantage point. He could see the sails of the following ships as they trailed out behind his ship. Lanterns marked them all in the dim light. The breton guardsman thought briefly if the city of Vivec knew what the future had in store for it. The mountain rose out of the moon lit landscape and created a blotch of darkness in the starry sky. It was a beautiful view. Geon enjoyed it while he waited.

*Celezar slowly turned, a near impossible task due to the uncontrolable trembling of his little body. The creature that spoke, that wretched nightmare, stood the most prominent, its body sealed within a gargantuan suit of black metals, each piece addorned with a heavy lock larger than a man's fist. Chains hung freely from pieces of the black suit, dozens and dozens of chains, each one larger and bulkier than the next. Possibly the most horrid feature of the beast was its head, which was encased in a black cage, the bars bent and twisted from obvious struggle. A large muzzle was fastened tightly onto the face of the monstrosity, so that only horrible glimpses of the thing's horrible appendage could be caught nashing about in the darkness, and its eyes were covered in thick goggles so that none could see the true features of this caged demon*

"Its funny, what age will do to a man, though father seems to have braved its perils well..."

*The hulking figure motioned to the apauling abomination which stood next to it. This creature was the worse looking of the gruesome pair, its body was no easy sight for the eyes, as it had obviously been horribly dammaged in the past, its flesh sewed together only where it was crucial for survival and the black fingers of rot already dug trenches in its skeletal body. The creature's body seemed to have been grafted, or connected by other repulsive means, to a horrible mechanism, one which ressembled something of a great, rusted machine. The machine's body was comprised of great sharp bars which grasped at the creature's body like bony fingers. Along the machine were long, snaking tubes and poles which entered the creature's body as a form of obvious life support. The mechanism was completed by three great insectile legs forged of metal which moved the mechanism around, the steam which occasionaly spewed from the machine declared it of dwemmer origin. The creature itself was missing its lower half, which was obviously severed due to the horrid, jagged marks that addorned its shredded waist, though its organs still remained, dangling down into the machnine, poorly covered in dense cloth.

*Celezar rose his shaky hands to his ears, blocking out the well spoken words of the giant figure, trembling worse than ever now*

"Ah yes, but the rot has gotten to him a bit, hasnt it? But then again, who really needs a body, eh brother?"

*The machine creature, the one mention as 'father' earlier, opened its mouth to make a noise, but only a dry gasp came out, revealing that death, or rather its state of undeath had declared it voiceless*

"Do not so blindly avoid my words, brother, your time has come, your prison so openly awaits!"

*The giant's words were carried hauntingly by the winds of the seas, stern and well spoken, yet their meaning reached into the depths of Celezar's mind and chilled some hidden, unseen side of him*

"Blood..."

*Celezar gasped*

"Everywhere...blood...BLOOD!"

*Celezar crumpled to the floor weeping, sloshing about in whatever dread hallucination haunted him now*

Reichi advanced on the black figure in armor, and the machine like thing that stank of rot, shortbade drawn. Both moons were full in the sky. The night however was young and they hung low for now. But even now something called to him, telling him to remove his ring.

Control is always hardest to maintain on them full moons...

"What is going on here?" he asked.

Liris sat in what small privacy could be afforded him aboard the ship. The Queen’s presence was beginning to wear on his nerves. She would depart soon, or so he hoped. Hanging lanterns cast dancing shadows on the wooden walls of the ship. They surrounded Liris with flickering shapes. He thought it odd, the strange angles of the ship made some of the most ordinary cargo look like they cast the shadows of twisted and distorted men. The Queen was not his only problem. Guards he set to protect and watch her weren’t aboard the ship. They had boarded ship but he had been unable to find them. Faril had mentioned that they were transferred to other ships before they had left because of the overcrowding at Elsyana’s order. There was something wrong with that. They were his men, men he had brought with him from High Rock. The lord frowned. He’d have to move soon or he might lose what loose grip he had.

*The giant paused for a momment, turning its attention towards Reichi*

"Best you leave, child, lest you intervine in a family's honor."

*The beast then turned to the wailing Celezar once more*

"The sons of a wealthy archaeologist, greedy pigs, who would have known that vampires dwelled so close to that cozy little cottage....did you? Did you?"

*Celezar wailed louder continuing to wallow in the grisly nightmare he was trapped in, the giant continued*

"Yet, how convienient was it, that the dwemmer left such presents for us to discover? How many years was it, how many years until that night..."

"NO MORE! BLOOD EVERYWHERE!"

"They died, and you, you did not even grant us the satisfaction of death. No, instead you chose that tomb, that happy little family buriel, but did you leave us to rest? Did you?! Immagine my suprise, when I found father dearest in this cage, this pitiful attempt at your own greedy desire for a family! Crumpled down at the bottom of some forsaken mine attached to this-this thing."

It didn’t matter the Queen required Lord Liris to meet her. The aide stooped and lifted the hatch to the below deck. Light from lanterns poored out. One stair at a time he descended into the mass of followers that had managed to crowd themselves into the hull. Liris, if he knew him, would be alone enjoying imported liquor.

"Hey Reichi. Whoa, what you gonna do with that?" Teleran said staring at the bared blade. Then sniffing the air, "Geez, if you're gonna eat meat at least make sure its fresh, you're breath reeks."

Posted by: Aki Jan 13 2005, 01:55 AM

Reichi didn't move. Curiosity had gotten the better of him. That, and he tended to gravitate towards fights on the Full moon nights. Even with his ring on. "It aint me.." Reichi commented to Teleran.

Jazbet, asleep on the cabin roof, woke up at the sound, Something's loose on the ship!

Jazbet saw the horrible, shambling family of undead creatures and leapt from the roof to the mast. He began ringing the alarm bell over and over again.

Arynel sat where the guard had left him.

"If that guard does not return soon," the Breton said, "I may give up on this little endeavor and return to the others."

He huffed, and closed his mouth.

*Celezar cried out over and over again, his agonized scream mixing with the alarm bell in sheer pandemonium. The two creatures, now recognized as what once were father and brother to Celezar*

"Your time is nigh, Celezar Elidras, we are all in prisons, you worst of all! Your condemption is our honor, your time is nigh brother...."

*The gruesome forms wavered and clanked off into the night, somehow vanishing, the faint jingle of chains and the scuttle of little legs grew faint in the distance*

Posted by: Allerleirauh Jan 13 2005, 02:04 AM

"Speaking of unpleasant matters..." Allerleirauh said, her nostrils flaring. "Is that Celezar again? Tell him to stop it, before all the rich idiots jump overboard and drown."

Posted by: Loranna Jan 13 2005, 02:06 AM

Hearing the alarm bell, Loranna's expresison changes immediately, a small touch of the old Loranna-Azura expression coming to her face as she frowns.

" ... What the hell ..." she mutters, trying to sort out the thoughts she was hearing. " ... Some other monster. How'd it ... no, don't bother asking ..."

She sighs and looks to Allie. "Random monstrosity calls ..."

Sniffing, Loranna says " ... Oh; yeah, him ..."

Celezar hears Loranna's voice in his head.

Leave. Now. Or I mush this mass of grey matter you keep lugging around.

Posted by: Celezar Jan 13 2005, 02:06 AM

*Celezar sat there, frozen for a momment*

"Good lord, Celezar, pull yourself together, the guards approach!"

*Celezar said nothing*

"Damnit man, pull yourself together!"

"For the lord's sake, Celezar, now!"

*Suddenly, the meat mount leaped from the shadows, embracing Celezar in its many legs and carrying his shocked, unmoving body into the darkness*

Posted by: Allerleirauh Jan 13 2005, 02:16 AM

"Gone," Allerleirauh said. "Loranna, say something in that huge scary goddess voice, and tell everyone to sit back down. JAZBET! A monster, yes, but one we've encountered before!" she called up to the Dres Knight.

Posted by: Solin Jan 13 2005, 02:18 AM

Liris climbed out of the hatch and pushed his way through the crowd of onlookers peering into the night after the deranged Celezar. He carried a glass in his hand. Faril followed close behind with a bottle.

“What happened here?!” he demanded to know. “Who roused the entire ship?”

Several guardsmen crowded near the railing with lanterns held high searching the waters surrounding the ship for signs of trouble but the shambling meat had carried it beyond their vision.

Seconds later Loranna's voice reverberates throughout the air:

Be at peace, for the danger is past. No monster can hope to harm the might of Azura nor the strength of her followers.

Rest yourselves and prepare for the coming events in the city of the man-god; you are safe this night.

" ... and stop jumping out of your skins ..." Loranna adds under her breath, so that only Allie may hear.

Faril tugged at the lord’s sleeve. “My Lord,” he said. “Listen to the Goddess. Whatever it was it is gone now, besides, the guards will handle it.”

The servant led Liris to the mid ship, under the mast.

“Lady Farrine told me to instruct you to wait here, she will arrive shortly.”

Faril refilled the lord’s cup and began to depart but Liris stopped him. “The bottle,” he ordered. Faril simply nodded and handed over the remaining flinn. With a brisk bow he left Liris standing near the railing.

"Celezar, m'lord sent me to help you, and if you dont tell me what the bloody hell just happened I'm afraid help will be very difficult for you to attain!"

"Ah, 'ello, whats this? It seems we have a letter-in your mind from master. Another task it seems, now if you'll kindly move your blasted british spotted owl we can please him! Would that make you happy, eh?"

The threads of the rope were frayed and split. Geon hacked at it with his free arm. He clung to the mast despite being tied to it. The guardsman recalled why he was up here. Elben had been a bit of drunkard but he was a good and loyal man. He served the Queen and did what Liris had ordered him to do. Then he had been stabbed in the back by Liris’s man. Soon Liris would be taken care of, Elben’s backstabber already wouldn’t be driving his blade between anymore shoulder blades. Geon smiled, he had such a surprised look…

"You asked me a question," Allerleirauh said, very quietly, to Loranna. The two women were walking the length of the ship. Everyone wanted to touch and speak to Loranna. Those who had been asleep were now awake.

Let's see if I can remember it.

Her thoughts felt jangled; the romantic mood of the evening was lost. Even the wind felt colder.

Who knew the origin of wonder?

Skin incandescent against skin like burnished gold.

Farther back than that. Back to black eyes, as black as the eyes of a horse or a doe, and his hands, that could encircle her waist. They had laughed at the size of his hands.

And before than, even, to the bluest, cleverest eyes in the world, eyes that smiled so rarely, but often she could make them crease with laughter. And she had tried so hard, to make him look and laugh.

"If you don't scare yourself a little you're not doing it right," she said, catching her breath, and leaning far out over the railing. "It's not real, you know. How can it be? You only met him day before whatever. But it doesn't have to be real to take your breath away."

Liris finished the glass off again. Faril should have returned with the Queen by now. He shook his head and began to fill the glass a third time but stopped. His head was pounding. In Vivec he would have to gather his men again and the Queen would be gone. They had come to close to disaster already. He needed control if he was going to make the best of this blasted circumstance. It had kept seemingly slipped through his fingers. He opened both his hands and watched as the bottle and the glass made simultaneous splashes in the water lapping the ships hull. Enough. Liris frowned. Where was Faril and the Queen?

Bellow Liris heard the jostling of the sail and looked up into the darkness. The moons shone clearly with the stars in his vision. Was it that thing that had roused the cry before?

Geon slashed again. SNAP! The rope let loose and the sail began to collapse. The sheets pulled through the blocks as the great weight of the yardarm was held but on one side. Downwards the entire rigging collapsed pulled by the top yardarm’s fall. Its siblings followed its decent towards the deck. Liris only had a moment to register his surprise on his face before he disappeared in red mist with a gut wrenching crunch. A lucky mer managed to avoid a fate uncomfortably similar to Liris’s by leaping overboard. Some others were not so lucky. The alarm bell let loose a final clangor before it was smashed beneath the combined weight of the fallen mess that was the rigging. Screams rang out again in the night as the large sail was pulled down. The cloth, blown by the wind spread out and covered several hapless passengers making it impossible to tell who was where. Moans of pain emanated from under the fallen sail. There were injured who need tending.

Aricyn rushed out on deck, amist a crowd of sailors running up with him, and a crowd of passengers running down against them.

He quickly surveyed the chaos and saw what had happened.

When people thought of Skyrim, they thought of snow and mountains, but Aricyn's people were quite accomplished sailors, too, and this wasn't the first time he'd been aboard a ship.

"Move that arm!" he shouted, but the sailors were already busy running new sheets and clearing the sail from the deck. He ran to help the others lifting the huge beam of wood.

*Celezar said nothing, obviously disturbed and in the process of collecting himself*

"And away we go!"

*The meat mount came alive, this time in a more fearsome form, the meats shifted into a great, many tentacled beast which scurried up the side of the boat and into the pandemonium, its tendrils wacking people out of the way violently as Celezar cackled atop the mount, watching as the mount shoved innocence of the boat's deck and into the murky ocean*

"Ah, what fun, what fun!"

*At last, Celezar came to Allie and Loranna, grinning down at them sickly*

"Ah, mother, I havent seen you since you lost your life! Tell me, how is death, and where is father?"

*Celezar laughed at Allie, his voice sounded quite odd, a visible metamorphisis had taken place within him, his figure no longer neat and well kept, and his eyes blazed with malevolence. Celezar lifted his hand, which burned with black flames*

"Oh, you silly little people, I see father hasn't been born yet!"

*Celezar laughed, looking at Loranna's bulging stomach in amusement*

"Ah, I forgot to tell you, mother, Sheogorath is the lord, praise him if you value your death!"

*Celezar then leaned close to Loranna, almost falling off his mount, whispering to her*

"My Master cares not who you dance with, for he will have the last waltz. Here is his card."

*He then handed her a blank golden calling card with the inscription DOG on it*

"I'm so sorry, I dont know what's gotten into him ladies, farewell for now!"

*Celezar rushed into the darkness and pandemonium, his mount shoving Allie and Loranna rudely as he trampled over people and into the distance*

Reichi climbed over onto the deck, mumbling curses in several languages.
He looked at the wreckage, brillantly lit by both moons. "What did this..? Was the sail weak?" he mumbled aloud to himself. Seeing Celezar he blinked and pulled out his Daedric shortblade and Stalhrim Dagger.

Loranna, having been heading to safety, grimaces at Celezar's words. She almost loses a hold of Celezar's card but manages to keep her feet and her grip.

Moving away from the ruckus as Allie ordered, Loranna's thoughts grow dark.

... This trial may be a little more lively than we thought, she ponders as she heads below deck.

Arynel sat where the guard had left him.

"If that guard does not return soon," the Breton said, "I may give up on this little endeavor and return to the others."

He huffed, and closed his mouth.

*

"Do not worry, my good sir, the King will see you now." Said the guard, suprising Arynel. "Follow me."

"Was there anyone else in the water?" Jazbet called to him.  The yardarm was very heavy, and the men grunt against the strain, but it was lifted.

The injured were taken out, but only one man was dead.  Lord Liris.

*

Receiving no answer, the Khajiit ran to the railing and looked out into the water. There were more people who had leapt or fallen overboard.

Jazbet leapt into the lake.

The guard took Arynel into the King's chamber. Helseth was seated at a desk reading some documents. He calmly placed them down and greated his guest.

"Good day to you." Said the King. "What brings you to seek me out?"

Posted by: Sheogorath Jan 13 2005, 03:49 AM

The Queen of Wayrest, Elysana, stepped through the crowds with Lord Faril and Herwyn, her battlemage. Her face was a stony mask.

She knelt by the side of Liris's broken, bloody body, and said to Faril, "Find out what happened."

Geon made strong strokes away from the ship chaos filled ship through the waters of the lake.

On the deck Faril nodded to the Queen and replied, "Yes, my Lady."

Guardsmen came forward and laid blanket over the corpse that had been Liris, gathering it up in the process. It needed to be cleared out of the mess that the others were working hard on clearing.

Aricyn gathered a handful of sailors, and they threw ropes over the side to assist the Khajiit in rescuing the overboard passengers.

One of their sister ships had pulled up alongside, and were lighting the water with torches, their crew hurrying to lower a longboat.

Aricyn took the first opportunity to talk to the captain. "I want to personally see every rope that held that sail, Captain. The Incarnate is NOT pleased with this, I assure you."

"Yes M'lord, I'll see to it," the captain replied, worry and exertion showing on his dark face.

Allerleirauh finished with the injured and went to the side of the ship to help in hauling men aboard.

The Breton paused, taking a breath, and adding a bit of charm magicka into his voice.

"Now, I will be the first to admit I am no politician, and I know little concerning the in's and out's of royal procedure. I do, however, know a little bit about this incarnate, and her following, and I speak honestly when I say the sooner she is crushed the better off we all are. However, I do not think military action the wisest choice to make in this matter, if that is indeed what you are planning."

From his vantage point in the water, Jazbet could see no more people to move to the ropes. They had either all been saved ... or some of them were unaccounted for.

"Can you see anyone else?" the khajiit cried to the people in the boats holding the ropes.

Posted by: Loranna Jan 13 2005, 04:01 AM

Loranna shakes her head, her lips set in a determined line. People were being tended to, true, but there was still a lot of chaos and confusion ...

She'll worry about the calling card later. Right now, she looks around, and while she avoids the most congested areas, she offers a few quiet words here and there to help start calming people down, suggesting that people who aren't able to help with the rescue or the cleanup go get some rest as she had spoken earlier.

Wayrest, High Rock

The Queen's Spymaster Ryvad Castellian received his orders. He arranged for shipment immediately to Morrowind. He smiled. His sovereign appeared to be pleased with his work.

Posted by: Celezar Jan 13 2005, 04:20 AM

*Celezar retreated back into a dark and safe spot on the ship, his meat mount laying down and folding upon itself to cushion his little body*

"That was quite an impressive performance, Celezar, bravo!"

*Celezar said nothing, only chattering nonsense to himself*

"Rightio, well, good man, get some rest, I'll be in your brain, trying to sort things out..."

*Deep within Celezar's mind, Other Celezar roamed through the dark depths of Celezar's thoughts. Out of nowhere, Other Celezar produced a small candle, luckily in the dream world, candels light up the entire world. The candle revealed a grey, dusty tome. The fact that the tome was so crammed full of pages that its spine reached up into the infinite void above did not seem to be a problem for Other Celezar as, through impossible means, he flung open the dusty book to the first page*

Behold, the son who has cursed his murderous brother and innocent father with unlife is the one who claims the most horrid punishment of all. He has slain his family and in their stead created the most horrid cage immaginable, its bars are of greed and its vastness is lonely, and thus he wanders to drink from divine waters and eat divine foods.

"Eh, whats this?! This bloody book is written backwords! Damnit, Celezar, you are completely....oh nevermind..."

*Other Celezar turned the gargantuan tome upside down and began reading it backwords, or rather forwards*

And so Lazarious, eldest son of the Elidras family has returned, and what should have been but a small child was a wretched vampire, a horror of the night. Thus the fall of the Elidras family had begun, with the death of both mother and father Elidras. Driven mad, both by grief and hate, Celezar Elidras wrestled Lazarious that night, fought him, sloshing about in their parents own wretched gore, a dread sight indeed. The foul deed was ended, and it came to pass that Celezar had bound his vampiric brother to the Elidras cage, a wretched suit of armor which none could escape, a torturous fate indeed. Yet, the deed had not ended there, Celezar, in his mad state, created the Elidras tomb in which to bury his family in, a casket for himself as well, as he saw it, it was his past and not his true self. At last, the family had been reunited, all dead, all happy...But what horrors took place afterwords were most appauling of all. Celezar, with use of the dwemmer technology his father had discovered, re-created his gored father, though this time as a lifeless apparition, a horrid automation that lifelessly obeyed his will. And thus it was in this madness that Celezar Elidras lost all touch with this world, living only within his mind, beleiving he controled his family now, 'puppets' as he so crudely titled them...

"What in the bloody hells?! This book is completely out of order, this is the middle! Oh for the lord's sake, I give up!"

"Yes, my spies tell me something similar. However, it's better to be preapared for the worst than to be caught short handed. Even you can see that?"

"As for where her followers will turn, that is why I am securing the support from the other factions of Morrowind. Their friends will be few. If they still cause a problem, then, and only then, will I have no other option but to send in the troops."
