Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morning Star Parade
Posted by: Loranna Jan 15 2005, 12:36 AM
In the previous installment of this thread, Loranna and the
procession arrived in Vivec, where Loranna announced her intent to complete her
pilgrimage and turn herself over for trial. There was a brief attack on the
parade but it was swiftly deflected.
Now, the party rests in a reception given in Loranna's honor, as everyone
wonders what's waiting around the corner.
As always, mirc irc.ChatSpike.net channel #Loranna_RP is our official chatroom
for the event. Everyone who plays is welcomed and encouraged to join the chat
so that we may discuss plot developments and swap jokes about our characters
Those who can't get into the chatroom are encouraged to PM Loranna about any
plot ideas or scene-effecting actions they have in mind; I will try to answer
you with all possible speed.
Part Twenty Five begins ...

Summary for Loranna:
Loranna is politely enjoying the reception held in her honor in Vivec; she has
just witnessed the verbal exchange between Reichi, Arynel, and the Werebeast
Hunters of Tamriel and is wondering what to make of it.

Summary
Reichi has just gotten nearly given away as a Werewolf by Arynel. And has
yelled at him for that. Unfortunatly the Breton pointed out that while he could
have heard it, the others of the group lacking a sense of hearing as good as
his wouldn't have.
Dar'var, might as well be out of the story by now.
Tarenen has made his prescence known, and is now demanding a case agaisnt the
members of Loranna's Skyrim party at the office of the watch in Vivec.

and the anger from a few. 'These Dunmer blindly follow anything, and everytime

Returning to his place beneath a tree, Arynel wove his arms and
summoned up a lute. The Breton began to play.
As from a seed is born a blossom
So good things have unknown causes
As river runs from high to low
From the mountain onward flows
Until the sea at last it finds
Ever onward 'neath the sky
Dissent spreads quickly as a weed
And so planted is quick to seed
A bit of doubt placed in good soil
Turns a bit the unseen coils
Until the sea the river finds
Ever onward 'neath the sky...

... I don't know about being who I used to be, Loranna says with a
slight smirk. That fool of a barmaid didn't know enough to avoid sending
half of Tamriel spiraling into chaos.
Her tone becomes a bit more serious as she continues: ... I know the basics
of what I want to be once this is done but the details elude me, and there's
still a good chance that once things are done and over with my vision of who I
want to be will have shifted again. However, there's at least one thing which I

how long it takes. That gives me comfort, even if I'm still a little fretful
about the particulars.

Summary: on the road south of Pelagiad:
Nalion had left Pelagiad last day by night, after he got information on a
possible war between Helseth and Loranna's followers from a drunken soldier.
Nalion had not wanted to spend the night in Pelagiad, so he had set out on the
road leading south-east, seeking for a shelter nearby. It was deep night
already when he had left Pelagiad, and so he relied on a spell of Nighteye to
find his path. Soon, a small farmhouse came into view. Not bothering to knock
at this late hour, he just leaned on the wall, covered himself with his cloak
and soon drifted off to sleep.
The dream was odd. Snippets from past adventures passed his mental eye,
voices called out to him. He felt a dragging feeling, then it felt as if he was
kicked. He woke...
And he got another kick from the Dunmer looming over him, shouting curses and
motioning him to get off his land.
"I'm sorry, friend, my feet were tired and my eyes were weary. Here is a coin
for your trouble."
Tossing a draken to the man, he gathered his cloak and got slowly back on the
road, wiping the sleep from his eyes. Then, he straightened.
"To Vivec now." he said determined. "And to the end of this part
of the path."

In the murky little room in the Black Shalk cornerclub, Herwyn slept. He had,
after all, endured a not-very-comfortable voyage across the water without
complaint only hours after recovering from his near death by torture at
Helseth’s hands. The battlemage twitched in his sleep. Elysana knew he was
dreaming not only of the torture, but the strange, nightmarish images that they
had both seen after leaving Helseth’s cells. The images that she knew were of
Leseth's world, and Herwyn knew better than to ask about.
She knew she should speak to Vonnod, and Faril … And quite possibly attend this
absurd reception they were having for the Incarnate. But the Queen of Wayrest
was tired. She was afraid if she put her head down, she would sleep until
tomorrow. And there was still so much to do …

After discussing the whole thing out with Inzoliah, she heartily
agreed, then they lost themselves in an inaudible whisper of their plans for an
escape.
After five minutes of sitting still, Brum quickly bolted underneath the wooden
board platform where the ordinators guarding the place stood, He slipped
further under it until he found a recognisible gap in the wooding, he waited
for one of the guards to pass over it.
"Hey, where is the freaky Nord looking guy!?" One of them yelled out,
across the assorted group of ragamuffin prisoners, they all simply shrugged,
"RRrrr..." He walked quickly across the floor, Brum could hear his
footsteps so he waited, patiently.
"I'm not going to ask you again, wher--" He was cut off as he was
dragged underneath the wooden platform, hitting his head on the way down, his
sudden silence drew the attention of the other guards. From beneath the
walkway, Brum winked at Inzoliah and silently slid the Ordinators sword out
from underneath it.
Inzoliah quickly scooped it up and waited, for a guard to make his way down the
stairs, when he did, he got the pleasure of cold steel, mixed with a fire
enchantment to the throat, he quickly fell backwards and slid down the stairs.
The dunmer man from before ran up to the fallen guard and took his sword,
getting ready for a large fight, he said "Wow, you bloody people are
crazy...." He paused, then added, "I like that."
Brum, before leaving his position quickly snapped the guards neck, producing a
rather satisfying snap.

At long last the Breton spoke: "Write a letter on the page, and you

Loranna ponders what Arynel says, trying to understand.
" ... I'm asking you to ... to take up another burden on this path, that
you wouldn't have necessarily wanted," she says quietly. "A chain

occuring to me right now ..."
She sighs. " ... I don't wish to chain you Arynel; I've been unfair to you

have, because I was doing wrong that needed to be addressed. I'll understand if

He didn't get approved for a appeal. The Officier of the Order

that such a matter would have been handled in Skyrim. Tarenen and the Hunters

Inzoliah and the Dunmer man, later to be named Salay, charged
forward, fighting a single guard each, Inzoliah quickly dispatched the one she
was fighting with a particular amount of ease, Salay however, had a bit more
trouble seeing as he was rather mal-nourished, but eventually he got him, but
recieved a rather nasty cut on his arm for the effort.
Brum rushed over to the desk and retrieved a small key from it, he hastily
unlocked his and Inzoliah's bracers and threw the key to Salay, who, unlocked
his own bracer then unlocked everyone elses except for the small bosmer woman,
still standing down by the fire.
Brum past off the 2 swords to some of the other prisoners, whilst Inzoliah and
Salay handed there own out "This feels much better...." Mused Brum as
fire engulfed his tightly leather bound hand, "Too bloody right
mate...." Replied Salay, conjuring up a fireball of his own.
The large amount of Prisoners squeezed through the door back out into a
hallway, where 2 guards had been drawn by the noise, "The prisoners are
escaping!" shouted one, bolting back through the door to rally more
guards, the other however drew his blade and moved in, to apprehend the
criminals.
Almost instantly, 4 of the prisoners charged forward and hastily hacked at the
guard, shortly, he was dead, they picked up his weapon and handed it off to yet
another prisoner, "Let's do this..." muttered Brum, smirking
delightfully.

She caught Arynel's eye, and motioned with her head for him to meet her at the

Foreign Canton, Vivec
In the murky little room in the Black Shalk cornerclub, Herwyn slept. He
had, after all, endured a not-very-comfortable voyage across the water without
complaint only hours after recovering from his near death by torture at
Helseth’s hands. The battlemage twitched in his sleep. Elysana knew
he was dreaming not only of the torture, but the strange, nightmarish images
that they had both seen after leaving Helseth’s cells. The images that
she knew were of Leseth's world, and Herwyn knew better than to ask about.
She knew she should speak to Vonnod, and Faril … And quite possibly attend this
absurd reception they were having for the Incarnate. But the Queen of
Wayrest was tired. She was afraid if she put her head down, she would
sleep until tomorrow. And there was still so much to do …
(FOREIGN CANTON, THE BLACK SHAULK CONERCLUB:)
Herwyn tossed uncomfortably in his sleep, dreaming black dreams of blacker
things.
The lanterns that lit the little room, their flames protected by glass globes,
flickered wildly and threatened to go out.
"And so you return to Vivec, Queen." a low, quiet voice said from the
back of the room.

Brum, Inzoliah, Salay and the group of other assorted figures
all heard a large crash come from the floor beneath them, "Struth! what
could've that been!?" Shouted out Salay, the fireball in his hand growing
larger, "We need not worry, c'mon....quickly now!"
They burst through the door to find five ordinators awaiting them, Salay,
launched his fireball, engulfing one in a heap of flame, Brum and Inzoliah
defeated 2 each, with their own respected talents.
Meanwhile outside, an ordinator stood on a ledge "The prisoners are
escaping! we cannot hold them! send reinfor--" He was interrupted as the
door swung open, knocking him over the ledge, "AAAAIEEEE!!!!" He fell
ontop of the archway of the highfane temple, producing a large deafining crack.
"Now what....?" asked Brum, looking down on the large crowd beneath
them, "I'm ready to cast a recall spell, but, I've only got enough majicka
for myself..." The group of prisoners all leaned over the edge, looking
down on the assorted crowd beneath them.
Then, Salay spat, sending a surprisingly large glob of saliva hurtling towards
them, "Bloody scum, have a taste of that..."

"I'll have to see it myself some day," Ciel
said. He smiled and gave a glance to Tris, breaking his eyes away from
Loranna. Placing a frim reassuring hand on the young man's shoulder he
answered, "Perhaps it is worth a look? Things seem to be going well
enough here for the time being."
The knight took a small sip of his own comberry wine. It was well nursed
as Ciel busied himself with watching Loranna.

'Lead on, dear boy,' said Baloth-Kul, waving to his fans and
following the Nord to Loranna. 'A red dress on an ashen-skinned Nord. She
looks like Dagoth Ur.'
"Dagoth Ur was slimmer than that," Tris said. "What's the old
bugger up to?"
He tilted his head. "It's gone quiet now. Come on, then."
He slipped on his ring of levitation as soon as they were outside the door, but
stayed at ground level.

"Great Incarnate Mother, this is Baloth-Kul," Aricyn said, bowing

"He is a playwright of some note, and wished to pay his respects."
'Delighted to meet you,' Baloth-Kul said, kissing her hand. 'We have much in

divine inspiration. I would love to use you in a play, but I don't know yet

'I am in a foul mood, I apologize,' said Elysana. It occured to her that
she had never said the words 'I apologize' before. That was an
exaggeration, of course, but she had said it seldom and not easily. She
touched her necklace.
The Queen told Leseth about the artifact, how careful she had been to keep its
discovery secret, the guards she placed on the site, the mystics hired to
decipher it ... Yes, a few people did know about it, out of necessity.
But the guards did not know what they were guarding. And it was large --
large as a rowboat -- surely it could not be stolen so easily ...
(FOREIGN CANTON, THE BLACK SHAULK CONERCLUB:)
Leseth listened, and his black face relaxed somewhat.
"So... where is this spy that eluded us?" said Leseth quietly.

Reichi was always curious of all these people who seemed to know what he was

'If they do not riot, then I haven't done my job,' Baloth-Kul
said, kissing her hand. 'What beautiful calluses, my dear. Speaking of
riots, what was that earlier in the streets outside? The Incarnate's
rowdier admirers? I should get them tickets as well ...'
"What a fine compliment," Allerleirauh said, laughing. "I have
no idea what happened outside. In any case, we haven't seen Ordinators swarming
into the reception to interrogate us all, so it can't have been anything
much."
She knew, from Mirea's work, that Baloth-Kul would no doubt find it very
interesting that Dres Gaor was dead. She wondered if the playwright had been
paid in advance. She kept the information to herself, however.

Dante made his way across the bridge from the St.Olms canton,
Getting closer to the temple a rugged Dunmer figure rushed past him yelling,
"Get out of my bloody way s'wit!" Dante, never gave it a second

Looking around the canton he noticed many things, the most abrupt and eye
catching of these being the small group of Ordinators slowly climbing up onto
the Highfane archway, to try and pry their fallen ally from it.
He looked up to the Ministry of truth, and noticed a door hanging wide open,
and a few guards standing by it, as to stop anyone from entering.

Tris waited until they were well past to speak, then found his voice wouldn't
obey him properly. That was the way he operated; calm enough one moment,
hopeless the next.
"The necklace," he said. "Ciel - she's wearing it."
He hoped he was making sense. He hadn't seen the necklace since that day. He

now planted his feet to help keep, his already shakey balance. "C'mon, get

off of the archway, it would seem that a point of the archway had dug into his
back.
"RRrrrr...damnit, Mortis, quick go grab a staff!" He shouted out in a
strained voice, one of the Ordinators around him jumped down and ran into a
nearby building, he quickly emerged with a steel staff "Good, now, give it
here...."
He grabbed the staff and with all his might stabbed it underneath the corpse
and lifted it, slowly but surely, the body began to move, and, roll off the
archway plummeting into the mass of citizens. many screams were heard, and the
Ordinators, they got their first good look of the wound on the dead Ordinators
back.
It looked as if the back of the Cuirass had a huge chunk taken out of it, most
likely it shattered from the long drop, inside the crater which was taken out
of the Cuirass, there could be seen a large piece of bone, piercing his flesh,
no doubtebly the mans spine.
And so the body lay there, still, almost haunting the people around it, as many
of the citizens became rather frightened at the sight of it, namely one small
dunmer child, who was closest to the bloody remains, eyes wide, tears streaming
from them.

staring. He admits he must look alittler odd."
"Hi, Two-tails, is your name then? I'm Teleran, a pleasure to meet you, I
think." Teleran says awkwardly. "Why not get sucked in? I'm sure it
won't be much more dangerous than just being in the same vicinity as Loranna,
she seems to attract trouble from all kinds."

"It is not the danger that Two-Tails fears, it is the guards. Ordinators
hate Two-Tails, they will throw him in jail as soon as they see him."

"Simple then. Just disguise yoursself. Hide that tail
like...in your pants or something." Reichi said, grinning. "Ordies
got bigger problems anyways. Besides its Azura, Azura likes Khajiit, doesn't
she? The Ordies would listen to her."

"Ordies don't like anyone Two-Tails," Teleran siad
then noticing the book Two-Tails carried, "A recovering skooma-fiend?
Looks like that book is in pretty poor condition. Is it of any use?"

... And it looks like time to call for a lock on this topic. New
one forthcoming.
