The Elder Scrolls Forums > Elder Scrolls Lore > RP Announcement: Hearthfire Ball

Posted by: Loranna Sep 16 2004, 03:53 PM

Hi all,

I had an idea for a Role Playing thread for the Lore forum, one which seemed apporpriate for celebrating both our move to the new forums and the upcoming news of ES IV: Oblivion. For such joyous occasions, a lighthearted social event is in order, so ... let's have a ball!

The background for the event goes thus:

Your character has recieved an interesting missive recently, cordially inviting you to attend the Hearthfire Ball being held in the Imperial City. Your host, the minor nobleman Darius Practus, promises an evening of popular and refined music, dancing in several styles, a sumptous dinner accompied by entertainment to aid the digestion, and of course a chance to meet with men and women of good breeding and scholarly inclination from all over Tamriel. Darius Practus hopes that you will find both the merry entertainments of the ball and the stimulating conversation to be had with your fellow guests to be as promising as does he himself, and he eagerly awaits your RSVP.

As intriguing as all that sounds, however, Darius's measured handwriting and polite tone cannot match the spectacle of the ever-winding and seemingly undulating squigglies all around the invitation's border, which suggest many possible shapes but never seem to actually form any one. Nor can Darius's words quite match the short poem written on the back in what appears to be ... cake frosting.

There once was a goddess most fair
Who said 'Sweet Golden Man, take me There!
Mortals make merry,
Drink port and sherry!
My own shadowrealm does not compare!

'My Darling Sister', replied me,
'You know I could not refuse thee.
Soft forms we shall bear
So that we don't scare.
Let us dance for the chance to be so lovely, that I scarce know where to find me ...

-S-

Hmm, that should be enough background, I think
wink.gifFor those who are interested, please leave a post with your character's name and a brief physical description. Playing multiple characters is all right if you like, though I ask you not go overboard and bring a cast of thousands biggrin.gifPreviously-created characters are as welcome as new creations.

I'll be running most of the NPCs at the ball, as well as the guards who are kept out of sight until needed to help those poor souls who had a bit too much wine find some fresh air outside, if you know what I mean
foodndrink.gifThis is meant to be a fun thread, so there ought not to be much by the way of blood, viscera, or undying hatreds that crush kingdoms, I hope.

If you have any further questions, just ask; I'll get things started by posting the name and description of my main character for this ball.

That's fine; there will be other entertainments for people who don't feel comfortable on the dance floor. There's couches and seats for sitting and resting, and side rooms where people can talk quietly among themselves, or play games of skill and chance. Playing boards and cards are provided by the host

Hi all,

Glad to see such interest so soon after making the topic, but ... I think I ought to stress one little thing I forgot to mention before
smile.gif

All of you bringing your weapons, that's acceptable, since the well-dressed gentleman often has an elegant blade to compliment their attire. However, all weapons will be expected to be peace-bonded for the ball, as this is primarily a social gathering, not a martial excercise.
biggrin.gif

On the other hand ... while the original dinner entertainments were to be a performance of a couple of the one-act plays from the game, I can alter the entertainment schedule for those who have something they'd like to perform. Displays of weaponskill and duels to the first blow landed can also constitute entertainment, so long as the participants know to fight with style and avoid serious bloodshed
wink.gif

On that note, if you wanted to have a character offer some entertainment for the dinner, please let me know, and I can put together a program for what will be shown.

Thanks again,

Loranna

Serjo Practus,

I have received your invitation and look forward to attending this "ball" of yours. I rather miss the Feasts of Writhing from my own homeland in the swamps. I can also assure you, despite the misgivings you outlined in your post script to me, that I will not use the most gracious opening of your hearth as an excuse to case your premises for the Guild. I also give you my solemn promise to stay my hand from lining my own pockets with the treasures that I'm sure adorn your mantles. Expect me promptly at the date specified for as we thieves say: "Time is money."

Lessons you will need to learn if you wish for our little enterprise that we have been planning, to be successful.

Graciously yours,
Love From Above
Thieves Guild Captain

*Is a rabbit, but arrives elegantly dressed as a khajiit in a suit of cyan and gold robes. The Prince with the thousand enemies bows respectfully to the enchanting hostess*

Good evening, it is good that after a period of intense excitement, paranoia, and deliberation that we should come to enjoy ourselves. I am sometimes known for my stories, perhaps I shall tell one tonight?

Meh, mine as well give it a try.

Name: Celezar Artay

Race: Bosmer

Gender: Male

Height: 5 ft

Eyes: Black

Hair: Brown

Class: Archaeologist

Bio: Celezar left Valenwood in search of bigger a greater things. It seemed to Celezar that the future had much in store for him. And it did. Thus his journey began, he soon found himself standing in the middle of an ancient tomb surrounded by the hauntings of old, gruesome daedric ruins, and the rusted cities of the Dwemmer themselves. As always, it seemed that Simone had dove into trouble head first and emerged, barely alive and rich with jewels as well as the hearts of many small town and seaside villages. Small in stature, large in intelligence, it had always seemed that whether by hand of deity or mastery of skills that luck was in favor of Celezar Artay.

To Master One,

While I'm sure that you'll have a grand time at this "ball" I have but one favor to ask of you. Should you find yourself in the company of Izzles Sparkskin please give him my regards. I realize the need for secrecy, but was preoccupied when he briefly departed during the Sanguine Festival...This is all I wish of you. Until your return, may Azura bless you.

With Deep Regards,
Empress Likeia

..."thanks". "But of course"

... Um ... (tosses Reichi a ring to keep his 'blessing' from Hircine under wraps for the night, just to be safe) Not that I have any real fears, but well, it is a ball, and it is to go on all night.

To remind everyone, your characters will be checked at the door by a couple discrete guards; weapons and light armor (light as in not all that much, not just 'light' armors) are acceptable, so long as the weapons are firmly peace bonded and the armor not too obtrusive. Hidden weapons or other funny toys will be asked to be left at the front, since our host is looking for our social graces this evening, not our martial skills

Peace-bonded means that all weapons will be fastened to their scabbards in such a way as to prevent them from being drawn without taking a few moments to undo the bindings. For swords, this usually entails a ribbon or piece of twine used to tie the hilt to the scabbard.

For weapons which can't be so bound, such as spears, fighting staves, what have you, the security force may be forced to ask you to leave such weapons in the foyer. Walking sticks are generally okay, however, especially for those who need such aids for getting around easily.

Incidentially, I'd like to mention that one of the security people is a Nord named Harg. Harg is 7'6" tall, weights well over 300 lbs even before taking his armor into consideration, and has been known to lay Ogrim Titans out cold with a single belt to the chops - and that was after we put a giant Ebony buckethelm over the dang Ogrim's head. Lord Practus hopes that Harg need not let his fists do any work on the night of the ball, especially since Harg himself seems to only acknowledge his existance though his fists - he calls himself The Fist of Harg
wink.gif

Fortunately, Harg's Redguard companion is more articulate and friendly, and may even be tempted to accepting a dance with a maiden

Its good to be cautious, but i believe that this is truly not a dangerous event, i am sure that sucurity will be light and that noone will be directly targeting us-but let us take care of thease nasty little details first so the ball can be filled only with intellegant discussion and mabey a little er.....you know. With guests such as the master ordinator however im sure that we will all be quite safe.

Lord Jeris regrets to inform Darius that he cannot attend, but sends his bard to study Cyrodillic music as well as entertain your guests. Oh; interesting ...

All right; backing up a tiny bit everyone. As the person who started this off, I just want to stress that this event wasn't meant to be a violent one, so most of these percautions that I've been talking about - peace bonding, being searched, etc - should really fade into the background once things get going. All that's really important is that we have a ball, that the usual percautions against things becoming unpleasant are being taken, and that everyone have fun.

As the person who started this, I'll make this promise; if I feel that someone's character is acting out of turn, being too violent or anything, first I'll just send in a guard to break things up and send you a PM explaining why I thought things were getting out of hand. I know, trust me I know, that sometimes you get into things really deeply and you find yourself reaching for a sword to defend your honor. Still, remember, we're all here to have fun. If things go beyond that initial talk though ... well, let's not worry too much about that.

Enough gloomy talk; polish your buttons and blades and bells, choose your merriest apparel, do up your hair and accent your eyes. And most importantly, work on your dance steps; Loranna is going to be on the prowl for dancing, and she has the most amazing stamina ...

Verry, well, however i have not lived so long by being careless, i will atempt to learn to dance but i am not...gifted in that area. Also i will remain with my weopon as it is a very nice-looking piece, but i trust that other weopons will be avalable for entertainment-dueling purposes, I use all forms of metal, but have always been partial to silver, Long-Blades.

On the intellegant discussion track however, i fear i have little to offer.

But i will try.

Lighten up, lad.
I know this is hard for you, it is your way of dealing with it, turning to a disciplined and strict lifestyle. But he would rather have you continue in his own lively way.

Yes, troublemakers will be delt with. How about joining me in the singing of "The night Iachesis was a Harlequin"?

This should be grand indeed, a ball, a ball of most spectacular proportions. Adventurers from around Tamriel. Bosmer and Breton, Dunmer and Atlmer, Imperial and Redguard, and Orcs galor! Argonians and Kahjiits, treasure hunters and scoundrels, bards and lore hunters, wizards and cultists united under the finest of roofs!

Posted by: Loranna Sep 16 2004, 09:23 PM

*Does a quick count* Wow; we've got about 17 or so characters so far ...

Okay; I'd like to at least give the announcement topic till tomorrow to give everyone (hopefully) a chance to see it; in the meantime, we may want to start thinking of when to run this ... and how to go about handling such a large group of people
smile.gif

I think once things get started, people will break into smaller groups, and start discussions among themselves. We'll see how that plays out. For the dinner, everyone will be together again but the main action will be the entertainment, and then we'll break into smaller groups again after dinner.

Hmm, that sounds like a decent tentative plan; I'll play things by ear from here

Hmm ...

Only thing about doing stuff by PM is that it prevents other people from knowing where to join in on stuff; I was planning on having Darius do a lot of mingling for example, floating from group to group to do what Imperials do best - schmooze
smile.gif

Part of what we end up doing will probably relate to people's schedules; if some people only have a certain time to take part, we may just let them post when they can and assume they're in the background when the players can't be present. This being a big social gathering instead of a tightly-defined trial or other event, we can get away with a more free-form structure, just so long as we are careful.

If attendance goes really high, we might want to have two threads at once - say, the dancing floor and the side rooms.

If there's still room for me, here's my character that I'll be using:

Name- Methiris
Race- Breton
Class- Bard
Sex- Male
Age- questionable, but thought to be in his early twenties
Appearance- slightly taller than an average Breton, but a tad on the skinny side. He has sandy-blonde hair that's almost to his shoulders and green-blue eyes. Easy to smile and seems rather plain.

Bio- Charming and mysterious are the two best words to describe Methiris. While being of little notoriety, he is known for appearing in various places and just as easily disappearing.
He loves to tell a good tale or sing a good song, whether either gets him a place to sleep or not matters little to him. He's used to wearing his travel clothes with a lute slung accross his back.
He occasionally runs into trouble, most of the time from jealous louts who thinks that he's trying to steal their 'girl'. Life, love, and laughter is what he enjoys most, even though he has his secrets.

Darius,

I would be more than simply pleased to attend your Hearthfire Ball. I anticipate an evening of revelry that few have experienced before.
I must also commend you, I make myself a hard man to find, yet your superb courier found me with ease.
May this be an evening that delights us all.

Yours in good wishes,
Methiris

Darius
If it is not too late, I will gladly accept your invitation, I have been delayed by my duty to our Emperor, and have just received your letter.

Perhaps some background information would be appropriate to offer, so as to ease my introduction to your other esteemed guests. As you well know, I'm a 5'11" brown haired, brown eyed Imperial (although my great grandmother was Akaviri), and my duty is to the Emperor as his eyes, ears, and hands.

I will not lie to you, my reasons for attending this party are not simply social, what I hear, see, and touch will be conveyed to out Emperor, friend or no, I'm a blade first and foremost. Surely you couldn't expect a gathering of such fine minds not to be passed along?

For the glory of our Empire,

Hiya everyone,

First, let me say I am truly amazed at how many people have already responded; I honestly thought I'd be lucky to see seven people reply by Sunday. Allow me to thank everyone who's signed up so far, and who will be signing up in the next couple of days.

Next, a little additional info. I've got a couple of people, both players and mods, who say they want to take part but can't do anything till after the weekend. With that in mind, I'm going to say we're looking at a Monday launch for this, maybe Tuesday. I'm in EST, and usually have most anytime free, so I'll try to be around as much as I can.

I've also seen that some of you have offered a little backstory for your character, backstory that suggests what you'll be looking to do at the event. This is cool, and in one way makes my life easier; on the other hand, it also requires a little extra planning on my part, to make sure everyone's got a chance to at least do what they wanted. So ...

At the moment, I see the event having three or four broad 'categories', if you will. They are:

1. Social RPing: Basically, you're here to get in character and have fun. You don't have any specific agenda other than talking with other people in character and seeing what amusements your host has seen fit to provide. This is actually the type of RP I've been doing most often in the last year, so that was one of the major ideas behind this event
smile.gif

For those people who are looking just to hang out and talk in character, I think they'll be most comfortable in the dance hall of the ball. Whether you choose to dance with someone or simply sit in a comfy chair and chew the fat, this will be the place for you.

2. Lore Discussion RPing: You like getting in character, but you like doing so as part of digigng deep into the lore of Tamriel. I was hoping to get some lore discussion going with this, even though I didn't have any specific piece of lore in mind at the time; I kinda figured the scholars would bring their own topics
biggrin.gif

For people looking to discuss the ultimate fate of the Falmer or ruminate on the religious practices of the Wood Elves, the side rooms will be most conducive to your pleasure. These rooms are interconnected yet far enough away from the dance floor as to allow for easy conversation, plus the bookroom and the gameroom are also to the side.

3. Action Lovers: Talking is nice and all, but RPing is about doing something; so long as you have a definite goal to aim for, you're happy.

Someone brought up the excellent point that some people prefer doing something to just talking; for this group, I am thinking of having the host set up a little game to challenge your wits and maybe your athletic ability, to be held outside on the manor grounds. We still will be avoiding out and out conflict, but for those of you who want to be testing your skills against the house, the grounds will be your playground.

Of course, people will be free to move between the three main areas as they wish; all I ask is that you make it clear which area you're in at the time, and where you're going when you leave.

Then, there's the dinner, for which everyone will get together. This will be the time for our entertainers to shine, and anyone who asks ahead of time can have a post or three to do a short act. Depending on how many people actually take me up on this offer, I may ask you to prepare your act ahead of time to move things along. Or, if people are willing, there's a couple nifty one act plays sitting in the Imperial Library that we could act out too
biggrin.gif

Finally, there's After Dinner. For the event, After Dinner will essentially be wrap up time. Any outstanding mysteries will be resolved, or buried under the rug to remain unsolved forever. Any running gags will finish up. Any great discussions will ... um, be allowed to continue unimpeded if everyone's happy, though your host may need to excuse himself after a bit
smile.gifYou get the idea.

Since we have a few days, feel free to talk over ideas; I know at least one or two of you have some ideas in mind
wink.gifI'll try to contact anyone who seems to have a plot hook background to discuss what you are hoping to do, and together we should be able to have a Spotted Owl Ball of Strong-Bad level Awesomeness. Or at least a ball, or maybe just the Cheet playing on his keyboard. Or just some chips and dip ...

Talk to you all soon,

Loranna

Name - Stalker (nobody know's my real name actually)
Race - Dunmer
Class - Scholar
Age - 500 years
Appearence - taller than most of Dunmer, close to Altmer in height. Has one eye, the missing one is closed by dwemer centurion eye.
Bio - spent most part of his life in dwemer ruins researching, researching and researching. Claim to know Dwemeris. But mostly a shady character who doesn't want to talk about the past.

I seem to be fashionably late... that's the way of things. Many thanks, my gracious host.

http://home.wnm.net/~bgriff/MWAllie.html as she appears in Morrowind. She claims to be a Nord, and indeed she was born in Skyrim. She is tall and authoritative in her motions, with a unexpectedly sweet voice. Her face is younger than her silver hair would indicate, but she does not talk about her age. Her dress is also silver, and without ornament. Beneath it you see the flash of embroidered slippers.

Most gracious Loranna, with so many wizards in our midst, it seems to me that peace binding will be of little avail... perhaps one of the moderators could be persuaded to assist with security as they did at the recent trial? In any case, I can't imagine that anyone would wish to disrupt such a charming event.

It's been many years since I received such an invitation, and my ballroom skills are rusty, but I hope I can persuade some of our gentlemen to dance. Dancing is what I most enjoy.

Carnajo
Breton
Aged 23
Shoulder Length Hair, Black.
Green Eyes.

Likes to have a good time, often at the expense of his magical studies, in which he does display am inherent skill. Often prefers to listen rather than talk extensively, unless of course the topic is one in which he has strong convictions, in which case he will gladly force his opinion on you.

Well dressed and groomed, with a cane for show rather than support.

He may likely posses other hobies, such as the collection of rare and interesting items, though many question his sources wink.gif

Here's another one (if you don't mind. biggrin.gif)

Name - Adanorcil
Race - Altmer
Class - Psijic
Age - 2182 years - or was it 2183?
Appearence - Tall as any Altmer, with dark eyes, distinctive facial features (again as all Altmer), long silvery-grey hair and a short grey beard.
Bio - Hailing from the province of the Summerset Isles, Adanorcil joined the Psijic Order on a -to Altmeri standards- very young age. Over the years, he made a lot of advancement in the ranks of the Order, until he became one of the assisants to Lore Master Celarus. He takes his duty for the Order very gravely, but also sees no harm in looking at life in a more relaxed way and likes resting out from his daily duties in a nice scenery with a glass of wine. Never resting in one place for very long, he works as an agent for the Order throughout Tamriel and has seen most parts of the continent. He's very good at the noble Magic School of Mysticism, but has experience in both Alteration and Destruction as well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Darius,

Thank you for your invitation. I'd consider it an honour to come to your fine ball and inspect your new villa all together. We haven't seen each other in a long time, have we? Wordly duties have kept us apart for too long.

If there ever is some time left after your festival, I'd enjoy strolling through the white marble galleries of the Imperial Museum with you once more and watch some of the new exhibitions.

I await your answer.

Yours sincerely,

Your old friend, Adanorcil

Seridius Scarlett

Race: Imperial
Hair: Auburn
Eyes: Hazel, nothing unusual.
Age: Roughly 29
Occupation:
He lives very comfortably due to several very successful incursions into blackmail.
Quirks: Almost always seems to have a slight smirk plastered on his face, always looking for any new "victims" he might be able to dig up dirt on. While many in his line of work peddle their secrets, he keeps the ones he's acquired over the years all under lock and key, hoarding them for a rainy day.
Personality: A bit cocky, but charming when he needs to be or when it might suit his purposes. His sharp and subtle wit often keeps most people from enjoying his company for too long.
Other: He claims to be quite a proficient duelist, since he does wear his ever-present and ever-sheathed lavishly decorated rapier upon his hip. The truth behind his claims remains to be substantiated, for his personal preference is to rely on his sharp tongue rather than a sharp sword.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dearest Honorable Lord Practus,

Your generosity and grace are very appreciated, I am honored that you would invite me to this gala affair.

Certainly you're busy preparing your estate with such opulence that would stagger even the wealthiest of kings, this would not be a night that I would miss. To do so would leave a heavy weight of regret upon my heart.

And with that, I give you my word that I shall be in attendance. Oh what a delightful night it shall be. I simply cannot wait.

Your friend,

Seridius Scarlett.

As Methiris,

I must find me some new clothes, as these ones that I use for travelling are too filthy to wear to such an event. There must be a clothier around here that will have what I need.
Perhaps I should get my hair trimmed as well, as Cyrodiils seem to prefer short hair. Then again, perhaps not, I think my hair looks fine as it is, after I give it a good cleaning of course.
I wonder what tales I will hear; the latest news and gossip, as well as the latest theories on history and such. All is a wonder to hear, and hopefully there won't be any fights over disagreements.
Since there will be many different races and callings, I'll have to be on my best behaviour, especially since I am sure that they will have over-muscled guards on duty. I shall do my best not to insult them or any other guests.
Now, to finish my preparations. Hmm, I wonder if I should bring my instruments with me, or if the mood strikes me might I ask a performer if I might borrow one of theirs?

As
swrdphantom,
Just attempting to get into character, this is the first time that I've used him, and the first time I've tried a RP like this. I'm used to 'action/adventure' type RPs.

That's fine; you seem to be doing all right so far smile.gif

I will try to have a little 'action RP' stuff for people interested in such matters; I'm working on possible ideas even now and ought to have something ready by Monday for it.

In other news, we are looking to have at least one exhibition match for the dinner entertainments and some singing and music. All this and the stuff Nelacar and I have planned too smile.gif

Hoh boy; hope I don't pass out from all the excitement ...

"I must admit now...I havent been out of this dusty village in quite some time now..."
*hurridly grabs a crude looking spear and a armfull of dusty tomes and rushes out into the village streets only to be greeted by hundreds of eager children*
"Were are you going Celezar?!"
"Are you leaving?"
"Why do you have your spear, is something wrong Celezar?"
*A woman rushes forward to scatter the mob of children*
"You've just walked out the door and already the village talks of you leaving us."
"Ah my dear, but that is only half the tale, as I have been most honorably invited to Cyrodiil...for a ball it seems"
*laughing half-mockingly* "An old rat like you?!"
"Its a welcome change from this dusty rag town."
"Your half as tall as your spear and yet your as charming as ever."

The ball hasn't started yet; people are just stretching their RP muscles.

... I am afraid I am unfamiliar with that particular mod, and don't know who willl'am pyrcelian is. I am inclined to ask that we not venture too far beyond the normal races however, unless most everyone involved knows what you're bringing in.

Where can I find some info regarding this mod and the fallen angels?

In Adanorcil's character:

On Artaeum:

"Leaving again, are we?"

-"Most certainly, Master Celarus. You know as well as anyone my feet start itching when I don't leave this isle once in a while."

-"Well, it seems I can't stop you any way. Just be careful in Cyrodiil, there's been a lot of trouble there lately. The Emperor is getting weaker and weaker, the vultures are already preying on his throne."

-"I know. That's what worries me. That's why I am so eager to go, better go and take a good look at it once more before before civil war flows over the City and might leave it in ruins." Adanorcil packed his last things.

Later, on the boat to the mainland of the Summerset Isles.

"Ah, clear weather! Perfect to start my journey. Shipmaster! Here's a nice sum of gold. Get me to Potansa. Quickly."

So, instead of being gone all day today, I'll just ... be gone most of Monday, until about 5 PM. Which was about when I figured things would get started anyway ...

Expect aggresively sunny and balmy weather for the ball, with winds fiercely clocking in at about ten feet an hour smile.gif

In Ald Velothi, Vvardenfell, Mavendas' Book Shop.

"What's this? An invitation, a rather extravagent one at that. A ball in Cyrodil City? It's been a long while since I've been there, and the memories are not that pleasent. Well I don't get invited to parties that often anymore so might as well break out the old robes. Cyrodil City is quite a long trek from Vvardenfell, should get going now."

As Ash_Sage825: See you one Monday Loranna looking foward to the ball.

A late arrival to the ball, strides in proudly...

A silver tongued rouge who has won fame and fortune as an adventurer. He wears an exquisite shirt made of silk and some exceptionally fine tailored trousers. An ornate duelling rapier is scabbarded in a laquered sheath at his right hip, and a master-crafted silver dagger at his left. One of his hands restsupon his sword hilt, and the other upon a cane. A ring on his left hand bears the mark of Clavicus Vile, his daedric patron. He smiles as he enters and bows deeply.
"Darlantan, Factor of the East Empire company for Solstheim, Knight of the Order of the Garland and the Blades, at your service."

Hi,

You're not late and you can still come ... but unfortunately, Lord Dagon has not been put on the invite list. I'm sorry sad.gif

Though this is a mostly free-form RP, I nonetheless have a few pre-planned tidbits for it; among those pre-planned tidbits is the level of Daedric involvement we can expect to see. This RP idea is one I discussed with Tedders/Sheogorath a little while ago, and while Tedders himself may not be able to participate all the time, he has said he'll try to drop in here and there. So, expect to see at least the influence of one Daedra Prince, but no more than two - and those Daedra Princes are already decided and have been taken by others sad.gif

If you would like to participate still, then I could see a worshipper of Dagon being possible ... so long as they didn't emphesize the destruction sphere too too much that night. Those dishes cost a lot, you know wink.gif

"An Imperial fatcat invites to a ball?"

"Yes, Master, we caught the invited in a muck pond, he seemed to be stuck there."

"Good, I shall attend this party, if only for the conversation. Ready my ship, we leave tonight."

Name: Omlacerac
Race: Altmer
Class: Mage
Age: About 500, I'm not really sure anymore.

Skin: A light gold
Hair: Whitish
Physique: Quite skinny and tall, a typical Altmer
Equipment:
An extravagant, purple robe, adorned with intricate silver embroideries.
A pair of golden rings..
A silver dagger, heavily embellished with sinister-looking runes.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm here for neither mischeif nor destruction, but I do not get much out, so I thought that the invited would have nothing against me going instead of him.

... Er, we may want to avoid both vampires and metal headbrooms. Darius's staff are not skilled at mixing Bloody Marys and already possess powerful straw brooms capable of sweeping up any mess, other than the one poor Darius has gotten himself into by throwing this shingdig wink.gif

Slight update: Due to some difficulties in reaching people this weekend, I am going to push the Ball itself up to Tuedsay instead of Monday. I'll want Monday to get caught up with everyone and finish organizing certain things ahead of time in the name of smooth running.

People who are going to arrive in the Imperial City before the ball, Darius has made arrangements for you to stay at a couple of the local posh inns. He expresses his regrets that he'll be unable to see anyone until the night of the ball proper, but promises that the evening shall be splendid indeed and that he is looking forward to a night of revelry, as well as stimulating discussion and perhaps even some exchange of works of art and power.

(Darius: Sigh ... now then, can someone please explain to me how all the potables we ordered for the ball last week have managed to just vanish into thin air ...

Darius's Cook: [sheepish grin]

Darius: [sighing and taking a heart sip of brandy] No matter; now, what was the name of that caterer again ...)

Darius Practus, Minor Nobleman: Yes, what's this you say? Some chap named Paragon wanted to come to the ball?

Melanus, Chief Manservant to Darius: Actually Sir, it was Daedroth Mehrunes Dagon who was asking.

Darius: Oh; hmm, I see. (beat or two of silence) Wait ... Mehrunes Dagon ... isn't he one of the Daedra Princes?

Melanus: (thankful Darius has some of his wits about him tonight) Aye my Lord; specifically, the one who invaded the Battlespire during the years of Battlemage Tharn's imposturature.

Darius: Ah! Knew the name was familiar ... (realizes the implications of what having Dagon asking to join the party would entail ...)

O_O Melanus, bring me the brandy ... bring it quick ...

Melanus: (calling out) Elaine, bring the blinders!

Elaine, Head Maid: (comes running with a case of brandy - and yes, I do mean a CASE)

Darius: Thank you Elaine (starts downing bottles of brandy like they were shot glasses ...)

Elaine: (looks worriedly at Darius, and fixes his shirt to not be wrinkled while he floats his brains out of his skull)

Melanus: (quietly puts the empty bottles neatly back in the case ...)

The Fist of Harg: Rrrr ... Hmm, Samson, how big is a Dagon?

Samson: Too big to punch out big guy; like trying to fell a mountain.

The Fist of Harg: (intense concentration) ... Pretty sure I could fell a mountain ... (holds up fists to eyes, mentally comparing them to a mountain and finding them aout the same size) Everyone says I'm a mountain.

Samson: (sighing) Trust me; even if you did fell him, you'd have to pick up everything that gets broken when ihe falls ...

The Fist of Harg: Hmm ... Darius not really liking it when I break things ... ahhh, keep the fool out! He wants a ball, let him throw one of his own.

Samson: (makes every sign he knows to show he is no part of this blasphemy ...)

Hello, sorry for the late entrance. It's not too late, is it?

Character: Nira Orethi
Race: Dark Elf
Class: Scholar
Bio: Nira was born to a poor mother on Vvardenfel. She learned the apothecary trade as a young girl, and now supports her reading habits by selling potions all across Morrowind. She made a name for herself among Tamriel's intelligentsia after writing an in-depth treatise on native flora. Nira doesn't approve of weapons, and often employs her speechcraft skills to smooth over confrontations. Failing that, she simply paralyzes her opponent for a short time. This hardly means she is helpless in any situation, and her strong-willed manner is often the cause of many social problems.

-----------------

My dear Darius-

I do hope I'm not too late to RSVP. I'm afraid I had not recieved your gracious invitation until quite recently, as I have spent the last few days gathering Wickwheat in the Eastern Grazelands. I would be honored to attend your ball, if the guest list has not already grown too large.

Respectfully,

Nira Orethi

*Rides a horse around the Imperial City, wearing a gold and red robe of silk and a wizard's hat*
I'll be at your house in four hours, Darius. During that time, I need to retrieve a huge number of magickal trinkets.
EDIT: I forgot to mention it, but I'll fetch my apprentices and summon some Daedra should we have need of extra security.

Sorry for the late message, I was occupied with the new books arrival in Imperial Library so... ah forget it, here I am in Cyrodiil's Imperial Library waiting for the day to visit the Ball.

Name: Currently I am known as Xan but in the older days, I am known as Xanathar of the Vraseth clan.

Race: Altmer

Class: I was a spellsword, but I have long retired of any quests, I am just a humble librarian now.

Bio: Once a mercenary spellsword who contracted with vampirism. I traveled throughout Tamriel to get cured of the disease. During the travel, I collected lots of scrolls and books, and even some oral-lore and legends. I received the cure after a horrible quest that I don’t want to tell about. After the cure I lost most of my strength and magicka, and I became a clumsy spellsword. So I gave up the sword and took a librarian life. Physically, I am just an average Altmer with no special mark.

OOC: I knew there'd be at least one! Sorta...

"Sir, shall I prepare your steed?" A young stable hand asked his employer.

"No, of course not." As he replied the man's voice carried a slight twinge to it, clearly annoyed. Seridius looked around for a moment, over the small end tables of his sitting room, searching for something. The young boy's eyes widened slightly, as if he suddenly remembered something. He quickly moved from the cabinet across the room, fetching a bottle of Cyrodillic Brandy and promptly placing it in his master's hand.

Seridius removed the stopper and filled a crystal brandy snifter with the expensive liquid, roughly halfway.

"It's never any fun to be early in attendance." He sipped the brandy from the snifter, savoring its flavour, the warmth it produced against the back of his throat and the sweet warmth that soon spread through his body. His back to the boy, he looked over his shoulder slightly, "Being late, however, produces fantastic results. One, the party will have already started, and I'll have avoided that dreadfully awkward period when the guests begin to arrive and won't have to feign interest in their horribly dull introductions. Two..." A sly smirk moves across his face. "..Two, the women will have already begun to drink."

Using his free hand, Seridius tosses the boy a few drakes. "Take the night off. Have fun with your friends." The boy catches the coins without fail and smiles, running along to no doubt cause somebody somewhere trouble.

Speaking of which... Seridius thought, I've got a few I need to visit.

He smirked yet again, something about collection days always made him smile.

Seeing the familiar buildings of the Capitol again surprised her by hurting less than she had expected. A Capitol visit, at least such a public one as this, meant work... it meant visits to all those who might be offended by a snub, checking in with the Guilds, a few prayers at the Temple. The Temple was the worst; as she bowed her head, she expected at any moment to hear her father's familiar footsteps approaching behind her.

Her next visit was to the baths. Allerleirauh privately believed that the luxurious bathhouses were the only truly civilized thing about Cyrodiil. Now she was clean in a way it was impossible to be clean in Dunmer Vvardenfell, her skin soaked and scrubbed and polished and faintly perfumed. It felt strange to be dressing for a ball, like regressing to a younger self, the pretty child who had apologized for her skill with sword and hammer and desperately tried not to lead in the dances. It struck her that the whole story of her life could be told as a series of encounters in ballrooms.

She clasped her new necklace around her throat. Shoes were less pointy, broader across the heel, with embroidery complementing rather than contrasting. Done. Her gaudy jewelry purchased in Morrowind was charming but provincial. Noted. Her current hairstyle looked barbaric. Fair enough. All these tips she had garnered from an Imperial Dance Master, more than willing to help her when he learned the size of her purse, overflowing with money from the sale of legitimate ebony and smuggled Dwemer artifacts. "My dear, you dance like a professional," he had said, as he showed her the latest steps and flourishes. "So I was, once," she had replied, shocking him. A trip to the best shops, where she was the only customer spending money she had earned herself, surrounded by higher echelon servants making purchases for their masters, had brought her smoothly into the fashionable world of the Capitol.

"Is that onyx?" she had asked, touching the stone scales of the filigree dragon. "Ebony," the jeweler replied, and she laughed at the unfitness of it and bought it at once. Conservative in appearance, horrifying in its extravagance, precious for its utility but fashioned into something entirely without purpose - the necklace was an ideal symbol of the Capitol itself, and she wore it with conscious irony, admiring it in the mirror, pleased at the effect of the dark stones against her fair skin.

Snowskin, her treacherous brain whispered, in Vivec's voice, and she frowned at herself. She had dreamed of him. She knew him to be happy, and she did not want him here... not really. Her inability to influence him was exactly what she adored.

"After him, every man I meet will seem like a handkerchief I could fold and tuck in my bodice," she said out loud.

"Madame?" said the Breton maid. "Did you want help with your hair?"

Allerleirauh considered. Up, or down? A little of both, she thought, and though she could do it herself, the maid probably knew subtleties of the latest style she didn't.

"Ooh, it's heavy," the maid marveled, lifting the silver tresses. "Has it always been this color?"

"Since I was fourteen," Allie replied, picturing herself in other mirrors, in other times. Two entirely different ballrooms bracketed that episode of her life. In the first, a child with golden curls, dancing with her father. You dance better than anyone here, he said in the memory. Don't we move well together? And she laughed and felt a little taller under the blasting heat of the envy of every woman in the room. In the second ballroom, she had danced, it seemed, not just for her own honor but for the honor of everything living... had caught sight of herself for the first time reflected in marble polished to a mirror sheen and stopped, shocked to stillness by the sight of a tall, sad eyed woman with a crown of brilliant silver hair.

"What happened to make it turn? Did you see a ghost?" the maid asked, calling her back to herself.

Allie didn't answer. Someone saw a ghost, she thought, but it had been her father, not her... Look at you. You look just like your mother. In those simple words, which had seemed at the time like the finest complement in the world, were contained the whole story of her life.

"That's beautiful, thank you," she said when her hair was done, standing and feeling the new shoes soft and light on her feet after so many months of wearing boots. She pulled pearl white gloves over her calloused hands and laughed at her own reflected image. I'd rather be whacking Kagouti, she thought. Or shouting at new recruits. Or really almost anything. But sometimes, when it seems nothing frightens you anymore, what makes you feel alive is to do what you most fear...

It seems as though our good Darius has prepared an excellent ball for tonight. I have reviewed the place, and it is extravagant. You are coming from everywhere to this ball, let us be happy. Everywhere noble grass runners are being devoured, and let us be happy here. We all have our pasts, yes, but let us not mind them tonight, for this ball. There is so much diversion to be had that no one should feel forced into one action tonight. If something does not strike our fancy, we are not bound to it.

Just be free.

Yikes, my apologies for the late reply! I'm at work all day, so I don't know how reliably or frequently I would be able to post to an RP session, but if our gracious host (and hostess!) doesn't object to an inobtrusive guest in the corner, I'd love to participate as best I can smile.gif.

Character name: Antanas
Race: Imperial
Class: Scout
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Hair: Dark brown, rough, tied back
Eyes: Grey
Physique: Average height, lean, haggard and scruffy. Fairly rank and file looking.

Other: Served briefly as a guard in the Imperial Legions before an injury led to declining health, which forced his removal from active duty. Although an average soldier and badly educated, his sharp mind and strong tracking skills did not pass unnoticed, and several months later he was quietly recruited as a Novice into the ranks of the Blades. Currently working as a scout in the northern Ashlands of the Imperial province of Morrowind, where he provides updated maps of the region and information on its native Ashlander tribes.

Down to earth and plainspoken, but cynical, unimposing, and poorly suited to social life. Despite his natural distrust of the gentry, his work amidst the Ashlanders has led him to appreciate the value of being polite. Periodic exploration of Dwemer ruins has left him an amateur student of Dwemer history. What little academic information on the subject he possesses is made up for in hands-on knowledge and experience.

Nothing compared to the glory of Ball Fell back in the old days...

Posted by: Loranna Sep 21 2004, 12:59 PM

The morning before the grand ball ...

Darius, his raven black hair frazzled and tickling his blue eyes, groaned as he awoke with the dawn; his head throbbed with the memory of the previous evening's hassles. That blasted head muscian complained that he and his crew were being squeezed into much too small a space for proper performing, all while his favorite chef suddenly decided that the imported guar steaks and snowwolf fillets simply would not do for his culinary masterpiece, and insisted on a midnight order of various forms of seafood to be delivered immediately, so that he could prepare what sounded suspiciously to Darius like a glorified seafood salad. Darius had of course objected; the more earthbound meats were already here and had been marinating for the past day, the side dishes were already being worked on, and to be honest Daius was never one for fish, but his chef threw one of his famous fits and stormed out, vowing to catch himself a few whales if need be.

With a problem like that happening on the eve of the big ball, anyone would have been forgiven a couple bottles of the vintage brandy; Darius certainly could not have managed to keep from chasing after his chef with a net if he hadn't had a few drops to steady his nerves and put things in perspective. His right hand man Melanus had promised to resolve the situation, though, so everything should be fine. Now, all he had to do was ... was ...

Groaning again, Darius slowly slipped his lithe frame out of bed and went into his daily routine to prepare himself to face the world, wondeinrg all the while what he was supposed to do today. He mentally checked off those things he knew to be dealt with: Music was provided for, accomodations for his early guests had been set up well in advance, food was not oging to be a problem, the stores of wine and brandy and flin were set ... hmm, maybe not quite; he vaguely remembered there being a problem with the refreshments for the ball, but that had been resolved, he was sure ...

"Elaine," Darius asked as he wandered down to the dining room for his morning meal, "What have we left to do for tonight? I know there's something but can't quite put my finger on it ..."

"You should review the guest list one more time, my lord," Elaine said with a gentle smile, her delicate features framed by her radiantly red hair. "I've taken the liberty of bringing the list and the confirmations for you to review."

"Ah! Right," Darius said, smiling as he began to eat. "Important, that, knowing who's going to be here and all ... hmm; let me see ..." he muttered as he took the list and the letters. Elaine privately prayed her good lord would not accidentally spill his customary morning glass of wine on the guest list, as that was the only copy they had ...

"Hmm, yes, harmumph ... sirs Limit, and Gladius Nemisis, and the head Ordinator Turval Indothril ..." he muttered, checking off names as he went along. "Nelacar and Loranna; Allerleiruah and Dimitrius Elegalius ..."

Darius frowned. " ... Elaine; did I really invite Turval Indothril to the ball?" he asked, his tone unsure. "And that Loranna woman ..."

Elaine shrugged, by now used to her lord's occasional lapses in memory. "Their names are on the list, my lord, in your own handwriting," she pointed out, reasonably.

"Hmm, why yes they are," Darius was forced to admit. "Still, I don't believe I've ever really exchanged corespondance with this Turval chap ... and I'm positive I've never even heard of a Loranna before ... oh well, moving on; Love From Above, Captain of the Thieves Guild - hmm, better make sure the unused rooms are securely locked Elaine dear; Reichi Sari - hmm, I invited a lot of Dark Elves to this, didn't I? Wonder what I was thinking ...;Maji; Methiris - ha, a bard from your homeland Elaine. Careful he doesn't charm you with his smooth tongue."

Elaine smiled dutifully at Darius's attempt at humor; the poor man needed at least two hours after breakfast to really hit his stride.

"Right; Baxter and Darlantan and ... wait; do I know a Darlantan ..." Darius frowned mightily at the list, unable to shake the conviction that he actually hadn't invited several of these people. The name Nelacar kept poking him in the back of his mind, and though he had certainly heard of the lovely Allerlierauh especially given her involvement in last Hogithum's dreadful business, he was sure he hadn't thought to invite her ...

Meanwhile ...

"Arr, a lot of running around just for a party," Harg grumbled, brushing his blond tresses out of his face and pushing them to fall over his mammoth shoulders. "Precious little need for The Fist of Harg tonight, assuming we don't get any drunks coming to this."

"You're just nervous about being around so many pretty women," his bald Redguard friend smiled. "Relax."

"The Fist of Harg has nothing to fear from any maiden, be she a blushing noblewoman or a screaming bandit," Harg muttered. "He just doesn't see why he and Samson are needed, especially since that Attrebus fellow has helped himself to the front door post."

"Attrebus is good people," Samson assured Harg, "and besides, with him watching the door we can be inside where the real fun will be - not to mention the occasional bite to eat."

Harg gave a craggy grin. "Someone thinks with their stomach," he chucked, punching Samson lightly in the shoulder.

Samson pulled himself off the wall Harg's light tap had smacked him into. "More than my stomach, friend. More than my stomach ... but anyway, be at ease tonight, okay? Lord Darius won't be happy if everyone's too busy being frightened by you glowering in the background."

"The Fist of Harg does not glower," Harg said, clenching his mudcrab-sized hands into his namesake. "Besides, who's going to notice The Fist of Harg and his friend lurking in the shadows, when everyone's going to be dancing around?"

"There isn't a shadow on Tamriel big enough for you to lurk in," Samson retorted.

"Yes there is; there's mountains," Harg insisted.

Samson laughed. "Right; I'll go get us a mountain shadow for you to lurk in tonight. Now come on; time to inspect the grounds ..."

Reflecting on the irony of her surroundings, Nira Orethi twisted the last of the intricate knots into her hair. She was determined to make a decent impression on Cyrodiil society, despite her lack of experience in a ballroom setting. Pocketing a fistful of drakes, Nira slipped out the door of her shack without bothering to set the lock. As she walked, she ruminated on the odd invitation, and her dubious history with the Imperial Guards of the capitol. This trip would require a bit of discretion on her part, she decided.

Upon arriving in Balmora, Nira made her way to the local clothier. She and Millie Hastien weren't on the best of terms, but then, the same could be said for most of Nira's acquaintences on the island. She did, however, have great respect for the noble seamstress. Millie drove a hard bargain, and Nira ended up paying quite a bit more than she bargained for. Leaving town with considerably lighter coffers, Nira reluctantly paid the silt strider fare. As the large insect glided off toward Seyda Neen, the dark elf felt a twinge of regret. Society did not interest her, but she was secretly hoping for a sizable grant from one of the more wealthy guests. Balmora faded off into the fog, and she prepared herself for a long voyage to the mainland.

...

"Where are we?" I felt like I had asked this question a thousand times since leaving Hegathe

"Near Skingrad Master One" replied Genjii, a Ra'gada of impressive size wearing a mix of Ebony and Silver armor

"Well I must say Genjii that this is by far the worst trip I have ever taken" deja vu again I thought

"We shall have reached Cyrodiil before too long Master" Genjii said

"Let me ask you something Genjii" I said it rather weakly and questionable

"Yes Master One" Genjii answered

"You've never been to the Mainland before have you?"

"No, Master One. I have not" came a quick reply

"So...seeing the Alik'r Desert must have been something. the Giant Scorpions, The Satakal snake folk must have been very new to you, ehh Genjii?" I had asked

"The Satakal were something of a fright" replied Genjii "If it hadn't been for Ryx and Yrx we might not have made it through"

"Yes Genjii" I said "they are quite the accomplished bodyguards...and loyal especially for Daedra"

*sigh* The Imperial City, majestic and corrupt, beautiful and flawed, living yet dying. It seems I've arrived with time to spare, an odd thing to happen what with the trip from Skyrim, perhaps I will look in on my flat here. Either way, I'm headed to the Imperial City my good Gondolier, the quicker I arrive, the more drakes you will find.

Limit stept out of the cheep inn he had chosen to stay in the past few nights, and began to walk silently down the street.
Limit had an opinion on everything, and did not hesitate to speak it. He had adopted a persona intentionally the the exact opposite of his personality, while "limit" seemed bipolar at times with moods ranging from loud-alarmism to quite calculation, The "real-limit" was a mess of activity, talkative and excitable, this side of him was showing to frequently lately for his own good, and limit thought that it was time for a change of surrondings.
A moment later he had decided, after the evnt he would depart to a remote area far from the imperial province. It was not without regret that he made that discision, he had been in cyrodill for nearly 3 years to the day, and would miss it greatly. But limit knew that he had let too many people become familiar with him than was really safe, besides, he dident want to be here when the septim fellow finally kicked it anyway. He was to play his part of the mysterious stranger tonight, he was not verry good at it but it would have to do, then afterward he would leave for high-rock or skyrim.
Limit paused, sighed and continued his walk.

That was my pathetic attempt at writing, please excuss the spelling.

Really big, crowded, noisy slums ! And people call this a civilization ! Nothing is better that to sit in the quitness of Dwemer ruins and listen to steam running in pipes. Stability, serenity, ethernal life..."

But sometimes the fine print cannot be seen.

The ingenuity of the Daedra can get round any barrier.

The Manor ...

The Manor is broken up into several distinct areas: The Dance Hall, the Side Rooms, the Dinner Hall, the Kitchens/Servant's Rooms, the Upstairs, and the Outside Grounds

Dance Hall

Set downstairs, the main hall of the manor has been converted into a dance hall. Tables and chairs for sitting down for a spell ring the dance floor, and refreshemnts such as water and finger foods can be found here for those needing a small bite to keep their energy up. Off in the far corner, muscians are set up, ready to play whatever air is called for. Servants discretely circle around the outside to make sure the pitchers of water and trays of finger food remain replenished, and the occasional guard can be seen smiling with tight-lipped politeness in strategic spots.

There is always someone looking for a dance partner, be it a PC or an NPC. Conversation is possible here, but the ambient noise will make it difficult to hear what's being said unless you're right next to a person.

Refreshments will include crab meat finger sandwiches, hackle ho leaf, and cheese, as well as other delacicies; for drinks, we'll have water (WIMP!!!), punch, brandy (for Darius wink.gif), filn, cromberry wine, and Rotmeth (or Jagga, whichever tastes better)

Side Rooms

Set downstairs, these rooms branch off from the main hall wher ethe dancing takes place, and are all connected via doors. Sitting couches and tables abound, and several of these rooms have a small shelf of books for people's enjoyment. Equipment for a friendly game of cards or the Tamriel version of chess can be found in these rooms as well, and the atmosphere is especially conducive to quiet conversation.

These rooms are the best place to come for a quiet talk with someone, or to hold a lenghty discussion concerning lore or other matters.

Dinner Hall

Set downstairs, this large room also branches off from the main hall, and is currently set to sit many, many guests. Servants will be running to and fro to serve everyone when the time is right, and a signifigant space is left clear in the far corner, to be used as a 'stage' are for entertainment.

At the start of the RP, this area will be roped off and not in use; people can go in this area before dinner to get some quiet but are discouraged from doing so.

Kitchens/Servant's Rooms

Set downstairs, these rooms are usually closed to the guests, and are for the servants to get things organized and prepared. The kitchens can be found in this area, as can the wine room and the green room. Guests found in this area will be asked to leave promptly, and if need be a guard will be asked to come show them the way back to the dance floor smile.gif

Upstairs

Lord Darius's personal chambers, study, and trophy room can be found up here. The only people upstaris during the ball are servants, guards, and occasionally Darius himself; any guests found up here will get a homing Fist of Harg set upon them to pursuade them to visit the Guard's Rooms, and then to either go back down to the dance floor or else feel the power of the Nordic Buffet wink.gif

Grounds

Outside the manor, obviously smile.gifThe manor is located next to a river, and has a lovely little bridge one can stand on to admire the stars. Smaller buildings can be found on the grounds as well, such as the gardener's hut, the stables, and the porties, and the gorunds are immaculately kept.

There is an area outside with chairs and tables suitable for sitting and resting, and those who look will find that Darius has a fondness for playing horseshoes.

mre to come shortly

"Finally!"Reichi cried entering the city. His travelling clothes tattered and worn far beyound what they normally would be, he had had a few unfortunate occurances along the journey. The latest one being forgetting his ring on the night Masser chose to be full while Camped out with his horse nearby....

Reichi entered the Nearest Tavern and got himself a room. Then hauled his luggage up the stairs and into the room, and changed into his Clothing for the ball making absolutely sure he had the ring this time."I'll just say i was attacked by wolves and they ate it.Yup...it was eaten by a wolf afterall....."He muttered while cleaning and dressing.

Maybe he should use some thing to adhere the ring to his finger....

*Carnajo looks at himself in his bedroom mirror.

Hmm, looks just about right, but something is missing. I do hope I'm ready on time for the ball, some say that it is fashionable to be late, but I prefer to be early, better to see each guest one by one as they arrive. I wonder what manner of interesting character the esteamed Lord Darius has invited to his ball...

Ah, a hat! That is what I need.

*Runs of to find suitable headgear.

Posted by: limit815 Sep 21 2004, 06:25 PM

all ooc;

"late" is bad for me, but good for everyone else, i suppose i could stay up a little later than normal, i have to be up at 4:00 a.m. every morning, be it a weekend, holiday, or just a work-day.

Posted by: swrdphantom Sep 21 2004, 06:30 PM

The time is coming; soon I will join with the other invited, and perhaps un-invited, guests at the Practus Manor.
The talks will be many, as well as the food and drink.
I may find myself dancing with a lady fair, but then again a serving wench can dance just as fine if she feels up to it.

The time will be soon, and I am almost ready. I have found some new clothes, and am now properly bathed. I anticipate a grand event that will be talked of for some time to come, even if it may be exaggerated. I can not be blamed for that, I excell at my profession.

Sorry Limit sad.gif

For what it's worth, it's swiftly looking like tonight's going to be mostly just getting everyone into the ball, and the actual action will start up tomorrow - which I can probably start up earlier than we'll be starting tonight.

We'll pull this off yet, I know we can smile.gif

*Frowns worriedly* Hmm; this is getting a little much ...

For those of you who can join the Morrowind Chat Room mentioned in the commnuity discussion sticky post, I've made a channel called #Hearthfire, to try and get everything organized for start up. I'll be looking here and there to try and catch people.

Soon as I've got some people ready, I'll try to get things rolling ...
