Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna:
Loranna is on a boat heading from Hla Oad to Ald Raathim, having recently
survived an attempt on her life by the grief-maddened Imperial, Plaas. She
mulls over the things she has learned about her current companions - and, again,
finds herself wondering why so many people around her get into trouble so
readily
Summary for Gram:
Gram is wondering where Loranna went, feeling an urge to cause some trouble.

The Argonian battlemage Shaka looks at the sea as the boat sails
for Ald Raathim; it feels as if he's getting to sail for home.
"Thanks, Isidor. Just trying to keep up with the company." He glances
over at Anya, who seems to be feeling better from her binge. Shaka was glad
somehow that the elf had continued to throw in her lot with them.

"What type of arrows do you carry?" Thom asked. The trader pulled
three arrows out from under the counter, a Silver, Steel, and Iron. Thom
pointed to the silver arrow and said, "One hundred silver." Thom put
down the gold and put the arrows into the quiver of his back. He nodded torward
the trader and exited the building.

While riding on the boat, Loranna relaxes, fixing her armor as
best as she can while at sea. Plaas's arrow had left a nice hole in her
cuirass; fortunately it wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed. If nothing
else, she could take it to Longhammer and his Nords to be repaired; the old
smith was a genius when it came to forging and repairing.
The trip had definitely been fruitful; she had some more reagents for her
potions and soul gems enough to make up the money she gave Rasar. She also had
weapons which could be sold for profit, or kept for Ald Raathim's armory. More
importantly though, she had a better idea of who her new companions were.
Isidor, Falco, now Anya - people who had suffered the loss of their families.
Rowdy and given to drink, to be true, and not always the best of companions in
a fight - Isidor was impetuous and Falco, she knew from Slyvos, had held back
in Aleft and Anya tended to drink more than her father even. But for all that,
they handled themselves against Daedra and she had the feeling that each had
the spark to be something special, like so many of the people she knew.
Jone, who seemed to want help; Loranna wondered what his story might be, as he
was quiet for much of his time with the group so far. Still, he asked for help,
and she would offer what she could.
Plaas, who seemed thoughtful when they left him. Perhaps they would meet again,
in more friendly - or at least less lethal - circumstances.
Even Shaka, the Argonain who meant well, who tended to worry, and who was not
above a jest of roguish nature ... she sighs a bit, thinking about Shaka. We
was intriguing ...
Ald Raathim was in view; home again. Loranna smiles, the illusion of her
disguise fading as she steps onto the docks.
"I need to speak with my senechael," she tells the others.
"There's a tavern and shops in the town proper, the longhouse down that
way is the place where Longhammer the smith does his magic with weapons and
armor, and the castle itself has a library should you wish to peruse it. I
shall have rooms made ready for you all for the night in the castle."
Posted by: syronj Jul 12 2005, 05:01 AM
Shaka shouldered his gear bag and Spear, and headed for the
smith. He hadn't brought it up in recent days, but his mismatched armor was in
need of some overhaul.
The humid heat of the Daruhn summer was a welcome embrace. Shaka decided to hit
the beach sometime later in the day for a swim in that part of the bay
sheltered from slaughterfish.

Waking up with a mild headache, Anya saw Ald Raathim in view. If
she made this, she might be all the person I believed. she thought. I'll
keep this in mind, though the destruction in my home was vast.
Hearing about the armorer Longhammer, she headed off to the longhouse.
"I was wondering if I could get my spear repaired. I have a dwemer head.
I'll need the pole reworked too. It is just cheap iron and has lost it's
sturdiness when it broke. I'd like it as light as possible, while keeping its
strength intact if you could. I have a daedric sword to give to you to pay for
it." She asked, offering the materials and sword, fervently hoping Lotus
would be alright through the repair. The gruff Nord agreed to it.
"Thank you, I'll be in the tavern. I'll stop by later on today to check on
the progress." With that, she left for the tavern for some relaxation and
fun.

some relaxation and fun.
Shaka passed Anya not long after she had left the smith, and waved to the
Bosmer, but wasn't sure she had seen him. The smith and apprentices seemed to
have all the work they could handle, so Shaka decided to leave his armor with
them for a couple of days. The Ebony bracers and Glass greaves posed little
mystery to them, but Longhammer paused when Shaka handed over the heavy
Dragonbone Cuirass.
"Haven't seen one of these before, Argonian," said the veteran smith.
Shaka didn't explain that it was a unique artifact and made from the bones of
an ancient dragon. "Think of it as the toughest bonemold armor you've ever
had to fill and polish," he said.
Shaka walked back through the market, clad only in tunic and kilt. He hadn't
left the Spear, not only because of its value to him, but because the Spear
would never dull.
A mage had once theorized to Shaka why the Spear was almost indestructible.
"Think of Bitter Mercy as a dancer, forever moving between Nirn and
eternity," he suggested. "She's outside of Time --
incorruptible."
Shaka headed for the bay.

Summary
Nalion, male Breton mage of roughly 35 years sat in a dim corner in the Ald
Raathim tavern. In front of him was a glass of wine - unfortunately not from a
Wayrest vintage - but at least, one could drink it. The mage had until recently
busied himself with writing, as indicated by several parchments and ink and
quill in front of him.
Right now though, he was watching the regulars and the people coming and going.
News had it that Loranna had come back from her trip to Vvardenfell. He
wondered how she had fared. It would soon be time to exchange news.
Not right now though, she surely would want to check on how things were
standing in her realm - she had not only a duty to her companions, but most of
all to her people as well.
Nalion leaned back and continued watching.

"I'm surprised to find you not in the library," says a familiar voice
in a light, teasing tone; Loranna's smiling face soon graces Nalion's eyes.
"Mind if I join you?"
The regulars knew that their Lady would come to the tavern often to dine or to
talk with her companions; some joked that she did so in order to escape the
castle cook Razbiah's flavorless cuisine, but Loranna simply averred that she
liked being able to talk with her people, and the tavern was a good place to do
so.
"So, how have things been?" Loranna asks Nalion as she orders a mug
of Nordic mead for herself.

The Breton mage's gaze focused at the source of the voice.
"Welcome back, Loranna!" he answered as he rose from his chair in
greeting. "Of course I don't mind."
As the waitress brought the mead, the mage motioned her to refill his cup of
wine.
"Even a dusty scholar has to get some fresh air or company at times. But, well,
often the voices of common people yield more on what is truly going on than any
book or report can. It seems to me that you also have realized this already,
dear friend."
As his wine arrived, Nalion took a sip to wet his tongue.
"Fortunately, the last days were calm. Kallen is doing a great job when
you are not here. I see that the school building is making good progress. There
are fewer - if none - complaints about rats in the barns, it seems - one of the
greater worries of the locals here."
"How did you fare on Vvardenfell? You look well!" the Breton asked.

weighs on her mind still that hadn't been taken care of.
"Me? I just like taverns," Loranna jokes, sipping her mead
appreciatively. She gives a mild glance about, and most anyone in earshot makes
a point of not listening.
"The trip fulfilled its purposes admirably; I made back my money and then
some," she says. "I also had a chance to see some of our newer

"He did what? Shout?" Nalion asked with a surprised and then a

happened?"
"A lot of people arguing over events in the past," Loranna says,
sighing.
"Let me start from the beginning; we got to Gnaar Mok without incident and
learned of a scholar who went to the old Dwemer ruin nearby - Aleft, you
probably know it. Seems the eruption and earthquakes revealed a new section of
the ruin, a construction site; the discovery was very exciting right up until
poor Trevenius's guard accidentally activated the Dwemer centurions and
Oblivion broke loose. His wife asked us to find him - just in time too, since
when we found him he was forced into a tube to avoid getting skewered. But
husband and wife are safely reunited and doubtless already further exploring
his discovery; I think you'd find it interesting to meet them and discuss
theories."
"From there, we met a Bosmer named Anya who offered to guide us to the
nearby Daedra shrines, Addadshashanammu ..." Loranna pauses for a drink.
"Gah; I'm almost able to say it naturally; Dibella help me ... anyway, we
accepted her offer and beat a hasty exit from Gnaar Mok; someone accidentally
used my real name and the locals were getting restless despite our saving
Trevenious. So, we ventured off, fought a small force of Daedra, even Arynel
showed up to join in on the fun. Within the shrine, we met the Khajiit Alira,
who kisses very, very well and who graced us with a riddle, and gifts when we
got it right. I now own a nice new pair of bell-studded anklets; I can already
guess why."
She pauses to let Nalion comment.

east of Vvardenfell in my travels there. There are still mysteries of the
Dwemer unresolved, who knows what revelations there will be - if any - in the
future?"
The mage took another sip of his wine.
"So it's Vvardenfell he went to so abruptly. Last time I met him was here
a few days ago. I hope he has stomached his guar steak well.", Nalion
chuckled to himself.
"This shrine must have been strange. I haven't heard of daedric shrines
where adventurers are greeted with riddles... But please, continue, Loranna,
it's your story."
Nalion leaned back and listened eagerly.

Nalion. "Though Arynel and I both found Alira interesting company indeed -
and Reichi got a new helm out of the meeting, so he was happy too."
"Moving on, I decided to swing south to Hal Oad to avoid ruffling any more
feathers in Gnaar Mok, and to check out the other Daedra shrine on that strip
of land. This one, we arrived at and found a Breton named Jone being harrassed
by the local Dremora; one fast, furious fight later and he was saved and we
once again had dead demons to loot. Jone was thankful, and asked to come with
us, and we invited Anya to come to Ald Raathim as well."
"Then ... someone shot me with an arrow," Loranna continues.
"Managed to break through my armor too, not a bad shot. I tell everyone to
take cover, they all go charging ahead, one confused fight later and half the
party is arguing about killing the now kknokced-out sniper, I'm trying to calm
them down, and he wakes up. And then Anya learns who I am and now we have her
and the sniper, one Plaas, yelling about everything they lost and how horrible
I am, and everyone else yelling at them to be quiet ..."
Loranna grimaces. "I felt as helpless as I did back on the palaniquin;
trying to keep track of who was saying what and get i na word edgewise ...
after a while, you're tempted to just stop listening, or else you know you'll
lose your temper. That's when Arynel shouted; everyone was arguing over things

the need arises. I can understand him."

determination in doing what had to be done at Hogithum.
"We have all lost friends in the Blue Dawn, and as much as I regretted to
have doomed those who wavered in their will and bowed in the wrong moment, it
was necessary. We could not allow Azura to win."

life, just like I can't hide from Azura. I know he still wants his dance and I
can hazard a guess what she wants to do to me, but I'm going to get on with my

"As for the rest of the trip .. .well, Slyvos I think is still on
Vvardenfell; he seemed to have wanted to look at Aleft again. I'm happy he came
along, though he's still distant and ... well, his age is showing a
little."
Her voice lowers as she mentions "He befriended the rats here in town; even

"I know," Loranna says quietly, "and, hopefully,
sooner or later they will know too. We'll do what we can to make them
understand, if they're willing to listen."
"As for Plaas, well, he seemed thoughtful when we left him; I hope he
isn't harboring plans against me still, or else he'll learn I can get very upset
indeed. And Anya doesn't trust me but she says she's willing to give me a
chance, so maybe we got through to her."
"As for his shrine ... well, I can't hide from him for the rest of my
life, just like I can't hide from Azura. I know he still wants his dance
and I can hazard a guess what she wants to do to me, but I'm going to get on
with my life."
"As for the rest of the trip .. .well, Slyvos I think is still on
Vvardenfell; he seemed to have wanted to look at Aleft again. I'm happy
he came along, though he's still distant and ... well, his age is showing
a little."
Her voice lowers as she mentions "He befriended the rats here in town;
even named one king. It was cute and a little worrisome all in one, you
know? He's so old and yet so young all in one ..."
"We will work things out, Loranna." Nalion answered assuringly,
touching her hand. "Yes, you still owe the doG a dance and I think Azura
is brooding in Moonshadow. Don't let this hinder you though. You have a
responsibility, to yourself and your people. In more than one way."
"Slyvos will find himself. We have not yet finished a discussion I had
with him in Dagon Fel and I hope to continue some time, maybe when he comes
back.", the mage replied thoughtfully.
"Thank you for filling me in on the news, Loranna.", Nalion smiled.

Plaas sat in the corner, he had asked the bartender for a booth.
There, he sipped his mead. I spied Loranna talking to a Breton mage at a table
across the room. He had abandoned his Knight Templar armor for something less,
noticeable. He doned an orcish armor without the helmet, he had traded his old
armor for it. HE still could nto believe it. Loranna had let him go in spite of
all the things Plaas had done to her, that was noble, noble indeed. He now had
a debt to her, and maybe when she is under attack, he could repay it.

Isidor stood at the bar watching Loranna and Nalion exchanging stories. He had
ordered a mead and a flin. "Here you go, serjo." The barkeep pushed
the drinks over the bar and Isidor replied with 20 gold dropped on the counter,
"Keep the change." He walked to a table, and took a drink.

Shaka looked over the bay, shimmering in the afternoon sunlight.
He left his clothes in a secure place among the breakwater and dove in.
As Shaka cooled off in the waters, he thought to himself that some of the
adventurers probably thought he could breathe water. Perhaps some subspecies of
Argonians could, but not Shaka. Although he could hold his breath at least
twice as long as a human, he still had to come up for air eventually -- or use
spells or potions.
Shaka thought of his Black Marsh homeland with mild affection. He had no family
there; his people didn't pair-bond like men and mer. The softskins would tell
me I was "spawned", he thought. Shaka had been away from Black Marsh
so many years, he almost had to remind himself he was not in fact a mammal.
After an hour, he reclaimed his clothes and walked to the market. There was a
certain tavern that the adventurers favored; Shaka decided to stop in.

Nalion looked up briefly as Isidor and Shaka entered, nodded
towards them and sent a knowing smile across the room. Then he emptied his
glass of wine and grimaced lightly.
"You're already spoiled in this regard, Nal. As a Breton anyways and
through Tris's excellent taste in wine... even more so. I wonder if Loranna
still has some in store here in Ald Raathim?"
The mage chuckled, then returned his attention to Loranna.

Shaka was pleased to see a number of the group already in the
tavern. He ordered a pint of bitter ale from the barkeep and walked to a table
near Nalion and Loranna.
The tavern's interior was cooler than outside, and lit by a combination of mica
windows and lanterns.

way torward the tavern, where these newcomers were said to be, currently. When
he approached, Thom pulled his cloak around his body and put his hood over his
head, then sat down with his back leaning against the wall. Thom sat patiently,
waiting for the adventures to exit.

They had left The argonian. Now seemed like the ideal time to
talk. But first, he needed a helmet. PLaas looked around and saw a man in full
Chitin. Plaas appraoched him. "I have a proposition for you. I will give
you 50 drakes for your helmet." Almost instantly, he was wearing the

Anya watched the scuffle from the bar. Why is it men always
need to violence to prove themselves. she thought, slightly amused by the
hasty acts. Finishing her drink, she got up and left the tavern as well.
Heading over to the longhouse, Anya went to check on her spear.
"Welcome, I see that more than one person uses this spear." she heard
the Nord say.
Stammering, as she didn't know how he could have found out. "Um, er, you
c-could say that..."
"Calm down, little one, I took good care of him. Here."
Anya took the spear and her eyes glittered at the sight of it. The pole was
inlaid with sliver and some ebony, greatly strengthening it as well as making
it lighter. The head was beautifully attached, with the bonds better than any
single cast spear she had seen. But to her surprise, the Dwarven head had the
faint lining of the magically altered ebony, a faint outline of Daedric lined.
The craftsmanship was better than any armorer she's seen in Vvardenfell.
"Thank you, this is better than I could have imagined."
"Go, you'll see your friend is unharmed as well."
Anya left and went to a dark alley, where those could not see her summon Lotus.
When he came, she was suprised, as a flame seemed to envelope him. When the
glow subsided, she noticed the faint outline of dark red markings along is
light blue body. Unharmed maybe, she though, but what has changed?

Falco mulled over what he had just done. His mind flashed back
to 18 years ago.
There he had been wandering the streets of Hla Oad, 15 years old. He had
thought becoming a master thief and bandit was going to be easy. He was wrong.
He was poor and starving. Then he saw an argonian drinking a bottle of brandy
along with a Khajiit, orc, and Dunmer. He ran up and snatched the bottle,
thinking he could sell it. He had been kicked to the ground by Hulayn. Then
felt a saber to throat.
Salis spoke "Lets kill him boss."
Hulayn shook is head, " This one has extreme audacity. I've never seen
anyone brave enough to pull a stunt like that. If he had been robbing anyone
else he would have gotten away with it. Little argonian, whats your name?"
Falco was scared but he didn't let it show, "Falco Redflash, And I'll have
you know that its not very smart to hold down the greatet thief in
Vvardenfell."
"Well little Falco how would you like ato join our little band of bandits?
We could use some young new talent."
Falco was overwhelemd at this offer. He wasn't going to be killed, plus he'd
get a chance to travel with one who knew what he was doing. "Alright I'll
join you Mr...?"
"...Hulayn. I'll teach you the ropes and raise you like the son I never
had."
And so for 3 years Falco stayed on with the group. One day he left suddenly. He
thought he had learned enough to live on his own.
And for 15 years he did.

OOC POST
Ahem; I really don't like doing this, but I think it's time to remind the
players overall that Ald Raathim, like most settled areas, is a law-abiding
part of the Empire, subject to Imperial Law.
I hereby quote from the Construction Set regarding Imperial Law:
QUOTE
An adventurer should know the basics of Imperial law concerning
life and property. Verbal assault, pickpocketing, and trespassing are minor
crimes, punished by fines or hard labor. Theft and foul murder are felonies.
Theft is punished by fines proportional to the value of the property stolen, or
by hard labor. Foul murder is punishable by fines of at least 1000 drakes, or
by hard labor.
QUOTE
Don't steal. Don't brawl or start fights. Don't kill, except in
self-defense. If you're caught, guards will let you choose your punishment:
fines or hard labor.
QUOTE
Fines and compensation are determined by magistrates, and may be
paid to guards. In place of fines, the criminal may serve extended sentences of
hard labor. The workcamps are hard places for hard men, and for each day
served, expect to lose some hard-earned skill as a result of physical, mental,
or emotional punishment.
In other words, if you go around town drawing a weapon on someone for no good
reason or attack someone, you can expect to be approached by the guards to pony
up your fine or sent to jail - and the guards may send you to jail anyway if
the situation is volatile enough that they don't feel you should be left
wandering around loose. And no, Loranna is not going to spring people out of
jail, even if its her friends; she's the ruling noblewoman here and has a
responsibility to the town and its people. Hell, she may even be tempted to
kick you out of her domain if you make yourself into a public menace.
Thank you for your time.

"I see," he says to Isidor. "Well then, that just leaves the
punishment for drawing naked steel and verbal assault. That will be one hundred
septims, and a night here in the jailhouse."
He pauses a brief second. "Some friendly advice, don't take this the wrong

He holds out his hand. "Your fine please, serjo."

Dram just looks at Isidor for a brief moment, before saying " ...
Fortunately, I believe you. You can pay the fine tomorrow morning upon your

He leads Isidor to a spartan, dreary room, one with a reinforced lock and a
barred window. The floor is clean at least, however, as is the bedroll. "See
you in the morning," he says, locking Isidor up for the night.
Dram closes his eyes for a moment; he needed to go find Falco, and track down

Thom couldn't help but chuckle when he saw the Nord approached
by guards and hauled away. From what he heard through the walls, he knew that
there was a disturbance in the tavern, and now he knew who caused it. Thom
started to get impatient, not to mention thristy, so the Ranger decided to go
into the tavern to get a drink. He entered, approached the barkeep, and said
"One flin." Thom put down the gold and took up the drink. He quickly
found an empty chair, alone against the north wall that satisfied him. Thom
ignored the stares of some of the patrons of the bar. He had been in Ald
Raathim for 3 weeks, resting from one of his journies. He took the chair and
readjusted the hood to cover more of his face.

If anyone should happen upon Arynel they may overhear the Breton mumbling
something about merchants being too poor to pay full price for glass.

Wanting to find out more about the mainland, Anya headed towards the library

At about that time Hulayn and the other three had set up shop in
the residence of the town's local recluse. He was a grizzled old Dunmer and
only left his house once a month to buy food. So slaying him was quite easy. It
would be several weeks before anyone even noticed he disappeared. The corpse
was down in the cellar.
Hulayn layed out the parchment Falco had given him out on the dining room
table. "Well mates, looks like ole' Falco came through for us. What kind
of a moron would make Falco a security consultant? This parchment has guard
schedules, patrol tims, routes, maps of the castle, hell it even has the location
of all of its Valuables. Plus Falco will give us an updated version every day.
Well mates we can rob that place blind and we can't lose! We needn't worry
about him ratting us out either. He's in to far already, he hasn't got the
guts. Now tonight we should get the West wing at aproximately 12:26 A.M. Right
when the guard changes. There'll be a five minute lapse of guards there. We can
get in, rob tthe place blind and leave without worry." He raised a glass
of brandy, Drink up mates! "By the time we're done with this town we'll
all be rich!"

"That sounds possible. Honestly I never put much thought into cliff
racers. As for different, well, he's changed color. I went into an alley way to
check on him. When I called him, he came in a faint fireball glow. And now he
has red linings along his skin. I'm not too sure why though. Here, let me show

Calling Lotus, a slightly impetuous act, he came, but without the same grandier
of last time. He was still blue with red markings, almost similar to tribal
tattoos.
"Odd, he didn't do the glow thing this time." she remarked, more than

Summoning Lotus didn't quite cause a panic, but a few of the
library patrons shot to their feet. After a moment, they shrugged and picked up
their books, moving to tables farther away.
Shaka reached out and scratched Lotus on the head. "Whose little killing
machine are you, boyo?" he said, smiling. More serious, he said to Anya:
"You've got me, Anya. Dark red is kind of a daedric color, but I don't
know the significance of these markings either. Maybe one of the other mages
could figure it out. I wonder if he has some kind of fire powers or resistance
now . . .."
He glanced at the elfin woman with the tattooed cheek. Cute, he thought. The
fluting Bosmer voice always suited their women better.
"Sorry to disturb you, Anya. I'll let you get back to your reading."

Loranna's Castle - Study
Loranna listens to the report from the guard with a nuetral expression; a
ruckus in the tavern soon after she and Nalion had left, Isidor locked up for
the night to cool his heels, Dram looking for Falco to follow up on what had
happened.
What the hell is going on? Loranna wonders. "I see; yes, spread the
word that I'd like to speak to Falco as well - and Isidor when he gets out
tomorrow. Thank you."
... Hrn; why do we always seem to get rambunctious while in quiet towns ...
Loranna wonders. Bad enough my father got into a brawl while we were on
Vvardenfell.
She would have to think of something; she remembers Aricyn's words to her about
too many loose swords rattling around in one spot. Maybe it was time the Lady
of the Castle started doing what noblewomen tended to do, and send heroes out
on quests ...

We could kill you before you could even touch it." Isidor stood up;
"Who is this?" The voice laughed, "That is unimportant. We have
questions for you, Nord, not the other way around." Isidor, feeling
helpless without his axe, said nothing. "You travel with Dres Loranna,
correct?" Isidor said nothing, but the voice seemed to know. "Your
silence makes no difference. We have certain....clients...that would like

"Foolish Nord." Isidor sat on the floor, swearing. "What do you

voice did not respond, and Isidor heard a crack.

Salis aims his arrow at the guard stabbing Ra'Sirr with an ebony shortsword,
when Dram fires off a powerful Disintegrate Weapon spell, reducing Salis's
longbow to a pitted and string-snapped piece of junk.
"Fetcher; that was my favorite bow," Salis snarls, drawing his blade.
"That was also the last of my magicka," Dram notes, raising his own
sword. "Not that it matters."
Salis sneers. "S'wit ..." Ebony clashes against steel as the two
Dunmer exchange blows. Once, twice the blades clash, and then Salis sees his
opening and drives his blade at Dram's throat ...
... to hit empty air, as Dram deftly sidesteps and cleaves off Salis's head in
one smooth motion.

Plaas ran up the many stairs leading to the sounds. When he got

Falco was battling another ARgonian, Plaas could barely make out his face. A
guard that looked like a higher rank than two others was charging an archer,
and two guards were battling an agile Khajiit. The Orc bandit was creeping
around. Plaas saw him go behind the higher ranking guard and raise his axe.
Plaas took out his bow and arrow and immediately shot at the ORc. The orc
screamed but did not die. HE turned around and looked directly at Plaas. The
Orc began to charge. Plaas immediately took out a throwing dagger from his
belt. Then he threw it. The dagger sailed through the air, and then landed in
the Orc's throat. The Orc stopped, felt his neck and then fell, dead. Loranna
was not here, and Plaas' part in this was done. HE turned and jogged back to
the library.

The two guards swiftly cut down the Khajiit Ra'Sirr. Finally it
was just Hulayn and Falco. Falco eventually began pushing Hulayn back into the
beam of moonlight comoing through the window, the only light in the room.
"Hulayn smiled, "You can't beat me Falco I taught you everything you
know about saber combat. I'll wear you down eventually my traitorous little
friend." Their sbaers met at each blow. Left, right, up, down, left,
thust, parry, dodger, block.... Finally their blades locked at the hilt and the
two began pushing forward trying to finish the duel. (Think the saber lock from
Star wars.) Falco's physical strength was no match for the older argonian's and
his blade was being pushed back. Suddenly Falco smiled and spun the hilt 360
degrees around, disarming Hulayn. The older argonian reached for a knife at his
side when Falco's saber took his left hand. He fell on the ground. Falco put
his blade to Hulayn''s neck. Tears of pain came from Hulayn's eyes as he begged
for mercy, "Please Falco spare my life. I will do anything, just don't
kill me!"
Falco lowered his saber, "Release me from my debt to you." Hulayn
nodded. Falco spoke again, "Then I spare your life but you will go to the
gaurds to pay for your crimes." Falco turned to walk back to Dram when
Hulayn's right hand shot to his dagger. He leaped at falco's back. Too bad for
him Falco already knew that Hulayn coldn't be trusted. He spn around and
impaled Hulayn through the heart on his saber.

QUOTE(Argonians rule @ Jul 13 2005, 09:03 PM)
(Think the saber lock from
Star wars.) Falco's physical strength was no match for the older
argonian's and his blade was being pushed back. Suddenly Falco smiled and
spun the hilt 360 degrees around, disarming Hulayn. The older argonian reached
for a knife at his side when Falco's saber took his left hand. He fell on the
ground. Falco put his blade to Hulayn''s neck. Tears of pain came from Hulayn's
eyes as he begged for mercy, "Please Falco spare my life. I will do
anything, just don't kill me!"
Falco lowered his saber, "Release me from my debt to you."
Hulayn nodded. Falco spoke again, "Then I spare your life but you will go
to the gaurds to pay for your crimes." Falco turned to walk back to Dram
when Hulayn's right hand shot to his dagger. He leaped at falco's back. Too bad

Dram nods, his red eyes seeming to look on with approval. "Swiftly
settled; well done serjos. The Lady may not have even been roused."
"Clean up," he orders his guards, who immediately begin carting the
bodies off. Dram, meanwhile, looks to Falco. "I am happy I didn't have to
skewer you after all," he says, his tone calm as always.
Looking over the slain, Dram notes that the Orc had an unknown arrow and knife
in him; well, Dram had had the foresight to keep a guard in reserve, in case
Falco had turned out to be less than trustworthy. He would see what that guard
had to report on the mysterious arrow and knife as soon as he tended to current
details.
Looking back to Falco, Dram says "So, these were the gentlemen who accosted
you earlier today, I take it."

Thom quietly had followed the Argonian and Dram, just to see
what each was capable of. The Ranger stealthily ran behind the two, letting
them lead him. As they entered the castle with the guards, the comotion allowed
Thom to use the same rope that the bandits had left hanging from the window.
Staying in the shadows, Thom watched as the bandits were systematically slain.
"Impressive." Thom thought. The whole battle, Thom had his hands on
his Daedric Claymore, he named Orome, just in case his abilities were needed,
but as it turned out, they were not. Thom continued to follow Dram and the
Argonian to the jail house, where he heard the sentencing. Thom waited for the
guard to exit before entering himself. Once inside, Thom hid in the shadows and

“I used to live on Vvardenfell, I traveled with the entourage for a time, and I

Isidor thought for a moment and then said "I've got nothing better to do,

to go." He walked towards the castle, whistiling an old nordic tune.

Thanks to the Inner Sea, mainland Morrowind was sheltered from
the ash and blight that plagued Vvardenfell, and the land was much more lush
and nutrient. However, several varieties of fauna present on the island,
including guar, kagouti, and kwama could be found on the mainland, as well as a
number of other creatures, that were known to harass any party that strayed too
far from protection. It was through this terrain that Sadene Reram would lead
the others away from Ald Raathim and towards her husband’s farm.

Shaka watched Lotus keep pace with the group, flying above. Lotus really did
blend into the sky on a clear day, though the red markings could also be seen
faintly.
In the end, the group had decided they didn't know the Imperial ranger Thom
well enough to take him along on this quest. They would try to talk to him when
they returned.

Isidor marched foward, his axe gripped tightly in his hand. If
there was fighting to be done, he would do it. He tightened his grip and
steeled his resolve.
Posted by: f15tray22 Today, 03:43 AM
Though they said that they had no work, Thom had a feeling that
he should come with them, whether they knew it or not. As they left, Thom
hurried back to his camp, and very skillfully and quickly packed his equipment,
and hid what he couldn't take. It didn't take very long to be within seeing
range, so Thom used his stealth to follow, quickly and quietly behind the
group. It continued that way for a while, but it was easy for the Imperial.

surrounded by barren fields and other produce, there was a little boy out
front, whose face seemed slightly older than his stature gave him credit.
Sadene invited the group inside, where they met her husband, Arvyne.
“Greetings,” he said to them, “Well you help us?”

there was bad blood now. He needed the group to hang together.

As they group arrived at the farm, Thom hid in the limbs of a
local tree, waiting patiently. Thom knew the reason of them coming to this
particular place, and Thom figured a watcher could come in use; bandits might
just happen to make a move when the are unaware. That, and Thom didn't want
them to know he was following yet. Thom looked into the distance, and waited.

"Your wife wasn't sure whether they're soldiers or bandits," said

Didn’t really seem much like bandits at all, they just showed up one day and
needed a place to stay for the night, the three of them. They said we’d be

The battlemage wove his hands, and a shimmering purple shield
aura materialized around the five soldiers, who, with looks of experience and
determination on their faces, moved ever closer towards the group.
“I said leave, friends,” the battlemage said coldly.
"I guess we gotta do this the hard way?" Reichi asked rhetorically,
drawing his own blades. "So be it."

"Stand where you are," said Shaka to the adventurers. He in turn
raised shields on the group.

“You don’t listen well, Nord, do you?” The battlemage said to Isidor before
casting a burning touch-spell at him.
The other five charged the group members.

"You fool. You think you can intimidate us, with magickas
and thugs?" Isidor laughs again and then walks to the battlemage, his axe
in his hand "Reverse the enchantment. NOW."
Falco had just figured it out. "Isidor he can't. He didn't put an
enchantment on it. He gave his own cursed amulet to the farmer and took the
farmer's lucky one." Falco turned to the charging soldiers. He drew his
saber and prepared for a fight.

Shaka unsheathed Bitter Mercy and called up a Storm Atronach. There was a
crackle of electricity, and the golem could be seen standing behind the
opposing battlemage, holding the mage in a headlock.
"How about it, mage?" Shaka called out. "Did you give him an
unlucky amulet, or do I have the atronach snap your neck?"

The battlemage cursed.
“I switched the amulets,” he said, “I waited until he was asleep and took his,
leaving mine in its place. It was causing me nothing but trouble and I had to
get rid of it.”
The other five did not seem to notice the predicament of the battlemage. Either
that or they did not care.

Falco ran straight at the one charging at him. When he was not 3
feet away he dropped to the ground and tripped theman, who's own momentum
hurled him over Falco and onto the ground. Falco hopped to his feet and
decapitated him whilst he was on his stomach.

Around Shaka, he could hear curses and the clang of sword against
shield and armor. He held his gaze on the battlemage.
"Thank you," said Shaka. "Give us the amulet and we'll let you
and your companions travel on."

Reichi saw one of the Imperials charge him and quickly blocked
the Imperial's blade, raking his dagger across the Imperial's face. The
Imperial cried out in pain and drew back. Taking advantage of this, Reichi drew
back his Daedric blade and thrust it into the Imperial's stomach. As the
Imperial slid off his shortsword, another attempted to attack from behind.
Reichi whirled quickly, sinking the Dagger Of Senses into the Man's neck, who
dropped to the ground.

throwing it above Shaka’s head.

Keeping the mage in the atronach's grip for the moment, Shaka shouted to the
others: "Imperials, it's over! Surrender and be spared!" Shaka hoped
some would still be alive by the time it sank in.

Two imperials dropped their swords, three lay dead.
"There, leave us be." The battlemage said.

The party stripped the imperials of their armor and weapons for the time being,
and confined them to their tent, their hands and feet bound. In the morning
they would return to the farmhouse and restore the amulet to its rightful
owners.
For now, Shaka worked with the group as they healed each other and set up camp.
"Nice hipsway on the elf," he heard Falco mutter. Privately, Shaka
had to agree.
