Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

improved shop, just outside of Sutch. After several setbacks, mishaps, and the
untimely death of their friend Genjii the duo have decided to try and live the
peaceful life...however, destiny might have other plans...

In the morning, they led the surviving Imperials to the
farmhouse but kept them in the yard while Shaka returned the amulet. As the
Argonian handed the true amulet of luck to them, he could almost see the health
returning to their eyes.
The party was as good as its word, letting the Imperials continue to Cyrodiil,
though disarmed.
Shaka had not told the others that Thom had trailed them. As they walked to Ald
Raathim, he could picture Thom staying on their flank. Lotus kept watch from
the sky, slowly gliding in a circle as they walked to Loranna's castle, the
morning sun gleaming off the bay.
As they walked, Shaka unwrapped the bad-luck amulet and glanced at it for the
moment before putting it away. Hopefully the brief amount of time it would
spend in his gear bag wouldn't cause serious problems; he wanted to check with
Loranna on the best way to dispose of it. Shaka didn't want other unfortunates
to find it.

Summary: Anya traveled with her new
companions, helping were she could along with her cliff racer companion Lotus.
Still a bit wary of Loranna, she has settle in a little better as of late.
IC: "Uh Shaka, we're not going to get any bad luck ourselves with
that amulet, are we? Because, well, as you can probably tell, I don't have much
luck to spare at the moment." Anya glanced at the satchel nervously, as
the group walked back.

Summary
Nalion, a male Breton mage, currently stays at Ald Raathim. In the last days,
he had taken particular interest in the construction of the new school in Ald
Raathim.
Nalion sat on on a crude stool and watched the construction site where Dunmer
were busy setting up the roof of the building. It was certainly not the largest
one, but it would be sufficient enough to house the children currently in Ald
Raathim and provide the space to learn. The Breton was not experienced in
architecture and construction techniques, so he had decided to watch instead of
being in the way of professionals. However, he thought he could be of help in a
different way.
"Are you Nalion Leoriane?", an Imperial, clad in a dark blue robe,
asked him while approaching. He was accompanied by a young lad laden with a
pile of books. The youngling seemed to stagger a bit. The lad seemed to be
sweating because of both the weight of the books and the Ald Raathim sun.
"Yes, I am." the mage answered.
"I have the delivery that you ordered. You are lucky that we were able to
deliver these books in such a short time.", the Imperial stated
arrogantly. "The scribes are very busy. Here is the bill."
Nalion rose and walked over to the Imperial. While his face showed a slight
smile, he did not like the arrogance he was presented with. He took the bill
from the Imperial's hand and held it a moment longer than necessary, looked
into the man's eyes and raised an eyebrow. "It's quite warm here, isn't
it? And your robe seems too heavy for this kind of weather."
The imperial's shoulders slumped a bit. "Yes, now that you mention it, it is
heavy... and hot. Is it always like that in this blasted province?"
Smiling to himself, Nalion turned to the young lad and ignored the last
comment.
"Now, carrying the burden of history, are we?" the mage smiled at him
and patted his shoulder reassuringly, then he winked secretly at him. Nalion
took some of the books from the lad and began walking towards his room.
"I will glance over the quality of the books in my chamber in the castle,
if you would be so kind as to follow me. There you will receive the rest of the
payment, too."
The Breton motioned to the couple with one hand to follow them. The Imperial
walked rather slowly, wiping sweat from his face, whereas the lad kept up with
Nalion's pace quite easily...

"Uh Shaka, we're not going to get any bad luck ourselves
with that amulet, are we? Because, well, as you can probably tell, I don't have
much luck to spare at the moment." Anya glanced at the satchel nervously,
as the group walked back.
Shaka thought about it. "Maybe you're right, Anya. Loranna has dealt with
far stronger magicka than this amulet. We'll destroy it ourselves."
He called over to the Nord. "Isidor, you want to do the honors? I'll
scatter the pieces in the water. By the way, you and Falco were right about the
battlemage. I'm sorry that I didn't listen to your instincts sooner."

Summary:
A lost imperial (Lost in his mind....), plaas follows teh group after they let
him go. He attacked them.
Something about this group, just didn't seem right. Why had they killed those
men, when they could have just disarmed them, why did these men have to be so
lethal? Did they not have paralyzing spells or effects? Back at the camp,
Reichi had pushed back somone, he had killed him instead of disarming him. Why
would they choose to kill rather than to grab teh chance to let someone live?
No matter who it is, they should be allowed to live at least until they get a
fair trial. This was why Plaas dispised Isidor, becasue he needed to kill, he
wanted death, he needed to snatch another life away from a son, a father, a
mother, a brother, a sister, and a daughter. Without it, Plaas wasn't sure
Isidor could live for much longer. He also had a short temper. Plaas wasn't
sure about Reichi now, but Falco, adn Shaka he still liked. He would have to
follow the group more. Before he decided when and where to approach the group
again.

Thom watched carefully as the group headed back to Ald Raathim.
He followed at a close distance, making sure to stay out of sight. Suddenly
Thom saw the group stop and destroy the amulet in question. While they were
just looking around, Thom figured he would mess with the group alittle bit.
Shaka would know, but he could really confuse the rest of the group. Thom
pulled his quill and paper out of his pack and wrote:
"I am watching you."
Thom smiled. He then pulled one of his silver arrows, punctured the top of
note, and fitted the arrow. Thom took very careful aim and fired the arrow. It
drifted high then fell, sticking into the ground right between the legs of
Isidor. Thom moved quickly but quietly closer to the group, within hearing
range.

"Yes, I do find it funny. But I do not mean to offend you, or any of your

help. And help I will." Thom continued to move through the forest edge,
keeping pace with the group.

looked of to the general direction Thom was in, having gotten a sense of where
he was from the Dagger Of Senses. "Why don't you come out and travel with
us then? Instead of running around in the woods?"

"Well, I went to the smith you reccomended, Longhammer, and

than ever. But... it did something to Lotus. Watch."
Anya called Lotus and showed her the red markings along his ligh blue skin.
"The first time I called him, he came down in a light glow that almost
looked like fire, but he's come normally ever since. But now he has these
markings along his body. Shaka here thought they looking similar to most

top of it, folding his wings.
The thing seems to be smiling, thought Shaka.

Lotus stretches his wings a bit on the chair, though the study doesn't really
afford him much room. Loranna, meanwhile, ponders for a moment the strangeness of
a sky blue cliff racer with red markings summoned from a heavily-modified spear
in her study. She also, for the moment, ignores the papers now scattered on the
floor.
" ... Well, I'm neither an expert on conjured creatures nor
enchanting," Loranna demurs. " ... Let me look at this some ..."
She hesitantly reaches out to touch Lotus on the red markings, giving the
summoned cliff racer a reassuring smile. "It's all right; I'm not gonna

Loranna gently lays her palm against Lotus's hide, noting how warm his flesh
feels to her touch. The warmth is more noticable on the red markings but
overall, Lotus feels very warm to Loranna.
"His hide feels a bit different than what I remember other cliff racers
being like," she comments. "Hotter, for one; different texture too.
Hmm ..."
Up close, she looks Lotus over, noting slight differences in coloring that she
didn't notice at first. His beak had a somewhat golden coloring to it, as
opposed to the usual cliff racer color, and Loranna could see faint streaks of
silver and black in the red markings.
"Well, my intuition is, he's been changed by the reforging of his
spear," Loranna says. "I see faint traces of the new materials worked
into the spear on him, and he feels like the fire of the forge has somehow
become a part of him too. How exactly that manifests itself, I'm not sure;
maybe he can breathe flames now, or is simply resistant to fire. Or maybe it
manifests some other way."

Nalion nodded to Anya, rising his eyebrow at Shaka's usage of a title.
"Pleased to meet you, Anya. I am called Nalion."
Nalion was a Breton in his mid-thirties, with medium-length brown hair and
matching eyes. The mage was of average height and was clad in a comfortable
looking common robe of blue colour.
"Please, take a seat. I apologize for the mess, but I have to check this
delivery. And it is not I that is about to start a school."
"I won't deny though that these books are meant for a school.", the
mage added with a smile.
The Breton listened to Shaka's tale carefully, nodding to himself at times.
However, as the story progressed, his expression seemed to become more worried.
"Enchantments are made by the usage of souls, don't forget that. And these
souls are bound to the enchanted object. Yet if the object is
destroyed...", the mage's voice trailed off in thought.
"Loranna already knows about this, I figure?" Nalion asked, not
really expecting an answer. "We shall talk to her, now. Please follow

*Sutch...Imperial Province of Cyrodiil, Dawn...as night begins
to fall, the faint glow of Magicka can be seen from the upper rooms of
"The Last Solarian Refuge Shop and Inn"...*
"Hmm...so how exactly does this work again?"
"It's simple Master One, first choose the weapon you want to
enhance...since you only really use your Shehai and Staff anyways, I'll enchant
this old Mythril Sword" Ami responded
*As Ami speaks the spell a brilliant flash of light surrounds the Sword,
causing it to dazzle and illuminate...but as quickly as this happens, Sword and
spell both disappear...*
"Err...is that supposed to happen Ami?"
"Just wait for it" Ami says "it should only take a moment"
*No sooner does Ami finish her words then the Sword reappears, through a puff
of smoke and a faint red glow...however this Sword is completely different as
it is no longer Mythril but a perverse blending of designs...in the twisted
depths One can make out at least three different grades of material...*
"But...how?"
"Im not really sure about that part" Ami said "I think it has
something to do with the simultaneous Enchanting, then De-Summoning...it seems
to take on its own form...it's kinda creepy, like something designed it that
way...or made it like that"
"So...how long will it last?"
"Usually an hour or so...but I'm sure once I'm more familiar with the
spell I can keep it here longer" Ami says most confident
"Hmm...that is a neat trick...and it probably has some use, although what
that is escapes me"
"I suppose your right Master One...but I will get better" Ami shouts
*As One and Ami converse over her new found power, the Rurio Clan make their
entrance...a long lost Propylon device connects the Clan to the Imperial
Mainland...suspiciously close to the Colovian West...*

I would like to apologize to Loranna, and swear a debt taht would make me part

Loranna blinks; evidentally she hadn't quite expected that reaction.
"Swear a debt? For what?" she asks. "You owe me nothing,

Thom, who had gotten three kills instead of two, made his way
back to his campsite outside of Ald Raathim. Thom set up his tent, gathered
wood for the fire, and drug the dead alits to his camp. It was too much for him
to eat, so Thom decided to invite someone from the group to join in the meal.
Thom quickly made his way into town and as soon as he entered the street, he
saw Reichi walking around. Thom approached and said, "Hello. I was

Reichi raised a eyebrow, considering, before his Stomach reminded he hadn't
eaten in awhile. Besides that, Alit was pretty good tasting for something that
was little more than a mouth on two legs. "Sure," Reichi said.

Reichi caught something out of the corner of his eye that a lesser man wouldn't

"[censored] hell," Reichi cursed. "No clue," he responded
to Thom's question. Reichi stood, both the Dagger Of Senses and Bloodfang drawn
as he stood. He ran in the direction the woman had fled. She's so lucky it
isn't nighttime. Woulda been dessert.

Thom saw Reichi run and followed as fast as he could. While
running, Thom said, "Well, I guess thats a way to end a meal." As
they ran, Thom put the bow on his back and pulled his Daedric Claymore named
Orome. With Orome in hand, Thom dodged the branches and brush, wanting to spill
blood.

The assassin's feet were light and swift, but Reichi's werewolf
blood paired with the Dagger of Senses allowed him to catch up with her.
She turned and drew her wakizashis, only to be met with two more blades heading
for her throat. She ducked under and tried to pierce Reichi's stomach as he
bound over her, but he parried the blades with his own just in time. He
recovered from the fall and faced his opponent.
"That stance" he thought, "Where have I seen that stance
before?"
Posted by: f15tray22 Jul 16 2005, 07:12 AM
Thom watched as the assassin tried to attack Reichi. Thom made sure
that Orome would be of use as he swung the massive sword with relative ease. It
was an swing attack, which was easily blocked, but eventually the two of them
could wear the assassin down. Right as he tried to attempt a follow-up attack,
one of the Wakizashis cut him just at his side. There was little pain, it was
just a scratch, but it did something worse than injure. It pissed Thom off.
Thom then swung Orome yet again, continuing to fight.

Reichi then noticed the landscape behind the assassin, framed by the trees was
a faint of Red Mountain looming in the distance. The sight of the mountain,
combined with the familar fighting style, caused a memory to click. Issa,
he thought, remebering the practice fight with the Dunmer at the base of Red
mountain. But this is a girl, why does she fight like Issa?
Regardless, Reichi charged at the assassin, this time his attacks far more
focussed on disarming or disabling her. He needed answers.
Posted by: f15tray22 Jul 16 2005, 07:20 AM
Thom saw Reichi tone down his attacks, focusing on the hands and
arms. Ahhhh, he wanted her alive. Thom yelled, "Die!" and attack very
fiercely, hoping to make her focus on him. Thom just kept swinging. He hoped he
could give Reichi time.
Posted by: Issa_Yojimbo Jul 16 2005, 07:21 AM
The assassin swing inwards toward Reichi in a pincer-like
movement. Reichi caught the wakizashis just near his head. He was in no place
to strike at her. She had him pinned.
But killing her was no longer the plan.
Instead of trying to free himself, Reichi dropped his swords and in one fluid
motion, grabbed the attacker's wrists and twisted them behind her. He kicked
the back of her knees, bringing her to the ground. Thom held Orome to her
throat.
Now, the tables were turned.

The Bosmer and the Argonian were walking through the late-afternoon crowd in
the marketplace.
"Slyvos, yes.... He's a long story in himself, one I'm still
learning," said Shaka. "He's Loranna's future husband, as far as I
know. He looks like a Khajiit. I've heard he strongly resembles Jazbet,
Loranna's late husband." It occurred to Shaka that he might have said too
much already.
"Anya, I trust you enough to say this, but it's not for the citizens of
Ald Raathim; it would just confuse them. Slyvos has an ancient soul -- that's
all I'll say for now. It's enough to say that he's a more powerful mage than
I'll ever be, as are the Bretons Arynel and Nalion. Loranna too, for that
matter."
The two had reached the smith's longhouse. The glow of the forges and clang of
hammers spilled into the street.

Anya mulled over what Shaka had told her, still not fully
understanding all she had learned. What have I gotten myself into when I

Anya stopped by the house she was directed to, but saw that Slyvos wasn't
there. Slightly depressed that she was still without answers about Lotus, she
hurried to catch up with Shaka.
"Wait up! Slyvos wasn't in. I'll need to talk to someone else now. Maybe
Nalion. I don't know though. Anyway, I thought I'd just tag along with you for

Shaka watched the Bosmer run back to the longhouse, her emerald Glass armor
shining in the late afternoon sun. "I haven't seen him for a long time,
come to think of it. I'll have to ask around the castle to see if Slyvos is
even around Ald Raathim these days. I assumed he was keeping invisible on the
boat we took back, but now I wonder . . .."
Shaka and Anya walked into the longhouse, their eyes gradually adjusting to the
dimmer light within. He greeted the crusty Nord, who handed over Shaka's mix of
Indoril, Glass and Ebony armor, as well as the Dragonbone Cuirass. All looked

"That was a Windform scroll, it has a powerful levitation enchantment

After a very short walk, Thom and Reichi emerged from the wood on the north

In the back of the tavern and cloaked Breton was strumming a
lute.
See them all round about
Little impish wild sprouts
Children dancing all day out in the streets
And the women of the town
They smile and wave their gowns
Flirting with whoever so they please
And the men act on a whim
When they’ve got a drink on hand
And in their bellies so they can’t stay on their feet
And so it is in Ald Raathim
In the taverns love or hate them
But no matter how you feel
About good conduct and appeal
The taverns are the best place for
Excitement and good rapport

guys!"
"Hail, Reichi. Come, sit, have a drink. I'm just about to tell a tale. In
harrowing detail." He winked. "On me first hunt in Skyrim, it was me,
my father, and my drunken lout of a brother. My father was there for
supervision. We had to catch a Wild Snow Wolf pack that had been harrassing our
town. I was armed with a bow and axe, my brother the same. My father followed
from a distance. After a while, he told us that he was going to stay at the
fork in the road, whilst we went ahead. So we went ahead, my brother drinking
mead the whole way. After a while, we happen upon the Snow Wolves, chewing on a
Nord corpse. I drew my bow, and shot one in the back of the neck. It squirmed,
then howled and charged at me. My useless brother stood by a tree, drinking."
Isidor stopped for a sip of his drink. "Aah.."
"So, the two wolves come at me, snarling like Hircine hisself. They come
upon me, and my brother stands there, still drinking. I jump on one of them,
then I cut it's throat. I shoot arrows at the other. After a while, they had
both fallen, and I had proudly taken their hides, to make some armor. When we
got back to my father, my brother took all the credit. I couldn't say anything,
because he was older, and me father'd believe him."
Isidor shook his head, "Well, needless to say, he was killed the minute he
left Skyrim."

Shaka smiled fondly at her. "I'll have to remember
another one soon. Right now I'm sort of relaxing. Can you tell us
anything, or Isidor?"
"Well, that does remind me of a time I was hired to, er, borrow something
of value from the Temple. Though it's not nearly as funny as you story
Shaka." Clsoing her eyse for a second, she recalled that escapade.
"Well, they had numurous guards around this particular temple, som a
simple sneak in sneak out plan wasn't going to work. I watched a pilgrim walk
towards the temple, and that's when I had this good idea. I would impersonate a
priest."
"Well, after I had aquired a robe, I entered the temple and began to snoop
around for artifacts the temple was keeping. That's when an acolyte came to me.
Apperently the head priest was a Bosmer as well, of all things, this was before
I got my tattoo on my cheek."
"Well, so flustered that the priestess was late, I didn't get a chance to
work my way out of it, and I needed to keep my disguise. 'You're late, you're
needed to give the oath to our newest members.' This proved to be more
difficult than expected, as I didn't know the oath, at all."
"As I started to spout whatever came to mind, it dawned on the other
priests I wasn't who I looked like. When they asked for my name, I took some
wine and flung it at them. Running off hearing them screaming 'Heretic!' all
the while."
"That's when the acolyte summoned a Greater Bonewalker an everyone stopped
dead in their tracks. Suffice to say, the temple gaurds more or less forgot
about me, which left me ample time to gather the artifacts and some, ah,
insurance as well."
"Later on, a satchel was delivered to me at the tavern, with some money in
it. Apperently some necromancer had his student snooping out the temple, and
they were so grateful that I helped them out, they payed me handsomely. And to
top it all off, they never noticed the stole... borrowed items. All in all a
good trip."

"Spoil sport." Anya muttered, in a joking manner. Slightly enthralled
with the thought of an assassin lurking about, she decided to stay for a while.
She tended to like their mannerisms more than straight-foward warriors. They
kept themselves out of harms way. They stayed silent and unnoticed. They made
sure they had the upper hand before they attakced ensuring their own safety.
She had adopted this lifestyle on Morrowind. She tended to wander a bit, so she
merged in some fighting styles, hence her spear. Useful in straight foward
fights, but kept her at arms length from trouble. She used to use throwing
daggers and the like, but grew rusty as people relied less and less on her
skills and more of a mercenary. She was glad to pick up the bow, again.

Shaka stopped by his guest room and left the Dragonbone Cuirass
in the armoire, along with the pauldrons and bracers. He was grateful for the
protection of armor, but it was too heavy for all-day use.

The tavern was visited well these days, much to the delight of
the inkeeper. Most benches were full and in the air hang a mixture of sounds
and typical tavern scents of food and drink.
Nalion entered the tavern, stopped for a moment and gazed around, then chose to
walk over to the table where Anya sat.
"Good day to you. Mind if I join you?", the mage asked.

"Nalion. A pleasure to see you again. Of course, have a
seat. I'm not busy at the moment." Remembering that she had wanted to see
him sometime, she spoke up.
"Nalion, I have a question about Lotus, my cliff racer." She then
proceded to explain the fire like glow of Lotus after the spear was reforged.
His red markings, and faint silver and black markings. She explained how
Loranna noticed the exceptional warmth to him and how his skin didn't quite
feel the same.
"Over all, he hasn't acted different. But I'm not sure what to think. Both
Loranna and Shaka think that the forging changed him, as the fire fits the
picture. Loranna then sent me to Slyvos, but I can't find him anywhere. I
remembered how you're known to be a powerful mage, and was wondering if you
could figure something out they couldn't?"

As Shaka put on the more formal robe he had once taken from a
Telvanni necromancer, he looked at the mirror for a moment and felt down for
some reason.
Yeah, you're a real leader, he thought. Shooting his mouth off in the tavern
like he had something to contribute.
And now this, more figures from Loranna's past, her old comrades' past. Still,
Shaka felt he should ask Loranna and the mages about Issa.
Shaka locked the door to his room and walked to Loranna's wing. He asked the
guards to ask Loranna if this was a good time to talk.

I think it could be. To be honest, I'm not a good enchanter. Some magic
trinkets for personal use and some made to sell in the days I settled down for

know of."
"However, it can be that the material of the spear influences the
summoning. See, the enchantment is bound to the weapon - the material of the weapon.
And if the material changes, it could perhaps change the way the enchantment
works, too. I have to admit though, that I have not seen anything like that

Isidor sat in his room, still thinking about what the figure had

Something was going on. The attack on Reichi, the figure in Isdior's cell, and

and didn't hear the figure enter the room.

Loranna thinks back; she realizes with some chagrin that most of the time she

thinking to himself again.
'why do I even bother going on like this? this world is never going to

He thought back to that time with the vampires, and he remembered something he
once said himself... and he slapped himself on the forehead, saying the quote
again outloud.
'every creature, living or not deserves a chance at redemption... and yet have
I not understood my own advice? How stupid I have been these past few
months...'
He turned towards the town, seeing it, while slightly in unrest, he could for
once see the reason they could go on in this damnable world.
'maybe it is time I started to learn to forgive...'
He started off towards the manor, a look of understanding long since overdue
long in his eyes.

open his mouth, blowing out little rings of smoke that turned into wafting
tendrils entwining as they wove their way up towards the ceiling.
On his belt was an elaborately tailored Daedric dagger engraved with
intertwining designs that wrapped around the whole of the blade even to the

thought about the group that helped the family at the farmhouse. A realtively
diverse group of people; Thom wandered what situation caused the banding of

Shaka was nearly finished with supper when it hit him. I've
sponged off Loranna long enough, he thought. If the deadline passes without
Raithmat's ghost drowning Ald Raathim, I'll move on.
He put the fork down for a moment. The trouble was that moving on, finding a
tomb to explore, didn't seem that promising.
Shaka had always prided himself on taking only artifacts that were ancient,
whenever possible. Many times he had walked past the humble tombs with their
few coins on top, or a chitin helmet, and left them. Every one of these people
had someone who loved them, he thought, someone who left a possession to help
them in the next world.
Shaka had once briefly admitted it to Solange: he was scared. He had already
lost a step in recent years. His mortality was bearing down on him like a
damned siltstrider. Today, a year from now, 20 years from now -- the same
result.
Soon he'd be crawling to the Telvanni mages here on the mainland, begging for
more life. How that would amuse them. It chilled Shaka to think of the price
they'd demand; he might yet end up a slave. Shaka covered his face for a
moment.
He stood up again and walked to his room.

Inside, the innkeep looks around, having been semi-crouched. "Merciful

Thom was walking around the streets of Ald Raathim when he saw
multiple drunks stumble out of the tavern and run off. Thom laughed, but then
realized that something was up when three more came out of the doorway. Thom looked
at the building and saw it shaking. But suddenly, it stopped. He stood there
and continued to watch the tavern. Whatever was happening, his interference
would only make things work. Crowds gathered around the building.

The moment Nalion finished his chant, the ripples of power
shaking the tavern suddenly ceased, and all was still.
Various tavern goers were gathered outside, discussing among themselves what
could have caused such a thing.
Nalion lifted an eyebrow almost as if surprised. The mage quickly scanned the
area whether the Dunmer might have reappeared or just used invisibility. To be
sure, the Breton mumbled a dispel spell near where the Dunmer had stood last.
Then, he looked at the table and touched his lips with his fingers as if in
thought.

Outside the tavern, Dram appears with a second guard, taking over for Loranna
in getting the bystander's stories on what happened and restoring some sense of
order to the day.
Loranna enters the tavern, seeing the thankful innkeep and the curious Nalion.
"What happened?" she asks, glancing at the table Nalion is regarding.

Outside the tavern, Dram appears with a second guard, taking
over for Loranna in getting the bystander's stories on what happened and
restoring some sense of order to the day.
Loranna enters the tavern, seeing the thankful innkeep and the curious
Nalion. "What happened?" she asks, glancing at the table Nalion
is regarding.
Nalion halfway turned towards Loranna, but did not take his eyes off the
writings.
"Look at these runes. It seems they caused the trembles here. I have
contained them, at least for the time being.", Nalion replied. "There
was a Dunmer here who carved these in. Dram might want to ask the barkeeper for
a description, and I'll give Dram my observations, too. I want this mer to be
found, if possible, and alive."
The mage massaged his neck with one hand, then turned his attention to the
inkeep.
"I suppose you have no need for this table anymore, Serjo. I think I'll
need this one. Here's something to compensate your losses."
Nalion walked over to the inkeeper and offered him a handful of coins for the
table and some of the smashed dishes.
