Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Loranna Jul 26 2005, 04:31 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna:
Loranna is in Ald Raathim, having just witnessed Thom's severing of his ties to
his former patron. She has recently helped eliminate the wrathful spirit of
Raithmat, freeing Ald Raathim finally from his presence, and she has also
recently received word from her friend Allerleirauh.

Summary: Nothing important. Escaped from prison, is now hiding
in House Dres territory, and running from haunting visions of his past. Last
thread had background info.
Rymlin awoke from his daze some time later. "I hate using that
stuff..." he muttered. He looked around his room and realized that the sun
had completely set. He made a small fireball, and found the candle in his room.
He grabbed his purse, and looked to see how much money he had left. "Three
hundred septims... that's enough for the night." Picking up his purse,
Rymlin left the room and sat down at the bar. The barkeep eyed him nervously,
then came over.
"Something to drink?" said the barkeep, still wary of the mage.
"Sujamma, the strongest you have." said Rymlin, sliding the drakes
over the bar.

"Meads all around!" Thom yelled. Cheers came from
every direction while Thom put a bag of gold down on the bar. Thom took a swig
of his own drink and nearly choked. "Good stuff."

From his seat at the bar, where he was having a shot and a brew, Shaka shook
his head at his comrades and tried to figure how he could get a drunken Nord and
Argonian rogue back to the castle. Possibly he'd have to fetch some guards to
carry them back .... or a wheelbarrow..... .

"Say friend, I'm willing to bet I can outdrink you and your friend

"I...like...to...drink." At this point, he collapsed on the floor,
knocking a table over.

Falco then began to sing his drunken version of an old drinking
song wich went something like this,
Err someth'in
someth'in
someth'in
someth'in

And a Pint o' ale!

Loranna was accosted by a couple of people upon entering the
tavern; the inhabitants of Ald Raathim knew their Lady well enough to know that
she was approachable.
While talking with people about the problems encountered with building the new
school, Loranna notes Isidor and Falco drinking together, and she raises her
eyebrows, though she smiles a little. It seemed that, for the moment at least,
the two were on speaking terms again - well, sort of.
The innkeep looked a mite put out; Loranna makes a note to ask him why in a
moment.

Thom was enjoying this very much. He walked up behind Shaka and
said, "I know what your thinking. They are more entertainment here."

Rymlin looked at the Nord and cast a slight healing spell on his head.
"Well, I guess I'll just have to go dry tonight. In any case, things seem
to have livened up for the time, I might as well enjoy the atmosphere."
Rymlin walked over to one of the smaller tables in a corner and sat down,
thinking to himself.

Shaka clinked mugs with Thom and nodded, smiling. "I've gotten drunk
myself a time or two .... not really worth it," said Shaka. "But
maybe I can get this evening going a little better . . . ."
Shaka walked over to the bards entertaining that night, and picked up a
guarskin drum and wooden stick. "Do you know this reel, boys ...." he
said to them.
Soon the tavern resounded to the sound of an elbow-driven bagpipe, fiddle, and
drum. Shaka lifted a hand to Thom and the others.

Summary: Anya gathered her gear and
proceded to the tavern as well. Her mind is preoccupied however, preventing her
from enjoying her drink.
IC: Still unable to get her family out of her mind, Anya sat in a corner
drinking so mead. Her usually smooth face was furrowed into a worried look.
Why can't I stop thinking about them. About their deaths. It wasn't always
like this. Normally I could just move on, but not recently, even when I first
found out about Loranna, it was never this bad. Why can't I just let go now.
Grabbing her drink, she attempted to forget the carnage with some alchohal.

Summary
After recovering from the exhausting events in the castle's dungeon and the
defeat of Raithmat, the Breton mage Nalion continued to deal with other things
on his mind.
The books he bought recently were still piled and wrapped in clothes on his
desk and he needed to finally put them to use. A servant was quickly found to
help carry the books, and soon a Breton and a young Dunmeri girl crossed the
streets of Ald Raathim and headed for the school building, which was still
under construction.
The shack besides the building was their real destination, though.
"Sera Dalavesa, if I may intrude?", he Breton began.
Dalavesa, a Dunmeri woman a bit past her middle years and short-sighted from
digging her nose into books for the better part of her life, looked up from her
table with furrowed brows.
"What is it, ou---. Do I know you from somewhere?", Dalavesa asked
suspiciously.
"I am called Nalion, perhaps you have seen me around the town the past
days.", Nalion answered with a smile on his face, then continued quickly.
"As you are the mistress of this school, I would like to present you a
token of my appreciation, as well as to the future students here."
"Ah.. Oh!", the Dunmer asked, blinking at the package. "Are
these books? What is it? Imperial history, again?" She sighed
unappreciatingly.
"Ah, Mistress Dalavesa, no. It is meant for those who just begin their
studies.", replied Nalion, the smile still on his face, but turning more
and more amused. "I am sure that your reknowned skill can put them to good
use. I will not keep you from your important work any longer, Sera. Take my
best regards, to you and your future pupils."
With that, Nalion and the Dunmeri servant girl placed the books on her table,
and with a bow to the teacher, they left the room. Outside, Nalion began to
grin openly.
"Serjo, you seem amused.", the Dunmeri girl asked, then continued
with curiosity in her eyes. "What books were wrapped in these clothes?"
The mage began to chuckle. "'ABC for Barbarians', the revised pupil
edition."

The Purple Antelope Tavern, Daggerfall City, Daggerfall
It had not been here long, but the owner of this tavern had a large clientell
already. There were those who were intriged by the name, and stayed due to the
good service... some people even came from the other side of the city just for
a drink. It was a profitable tavern now, and the owner was content... in the
corner, sat a Redguard and a young Breton girl.
"no," said the girl, "I dont think of you that way..."
"But Maranda..." replied the redguard
"No, Larcoriz, I like you as a friend, but not in that way" Maranda
replied, drinking her iced water. Lacoriz looked down, and depressingly sipped
his ale, "Oh, lets continue to be friends, Lacoriz," Maranda
continued, "but not in that way... its not you... but me"
"oh" replied then downcast Redguard, "So you dont want me to
escort you to your sisters wedding?"
"I am maid of honour, I cant go with you... But I am thankful for the
offer" Maranda replied, standing, and bowing gracefully to Lacoriz, before
slowly walking out of the Tavern, leaving Lacoriz with his drink

Seeing Isidor's fall, Shaka left the musicians, who were beginning a slower air
anyway. Shaka slung Isidor over his shoulder and lowered him onto a bench near
Anya. Better here than the floor, thought the Argonian.
Anya seemed pensive, and Shaka wanted to ask the Bosmer what was troubling her;
but he sensed she might need time alone. He nodded to Anya and went back to the
bar.

"And to think my dad was planning on taking them along on his little trip
to Skyrim," Loranna remarks dryly, ordering her second mead. "They
pass out too quickly; such a shame ..."
Of course, Loranna thinks to herself, they probably didn't have her advantages
of a potion-enhanced resistance to poison or a nice quiet little Dispel
Drunkeness spell, but she didn't enlightnen them.
I wonder; do the heroes in Allie's strange new world get drunk, with no
taverns in which to drink? she wonders briefly, sipping her mead. I'll
have to ask her about that ...
She thinks of Allie's friend, the Harper; Allie was right, she never met the
worthy, though from Allie's description she could almost see him if she closed
her eyes. She wonders what the Harper might think were he in the present
company, and she feels a longing to hear the sounds of a harp, or a flute.
I wonder who else you've met in that new world, Allie, she
thinks. Have you been meeting as many new faces as I have, since I left
Solunastra? Will you ever see those faces again once you return to Tamriel?
Will I ever see that world, someday, or maybe some other?

Reichi raised a eyebrow looking at Falco and Isidor while
drinking his mead. Despite being a Nordic drink, the Dunmer liked it, and was
amused that he had held his drink better than a actual Nord. Reichi regarded
Anya with curiosity at her expression, wondering why she looked so worried,
before shrugging it off and returning to his mead.

Rymlin continues to watch as the crowd enjoys the night. He

ship, Rymlin words one of the sailor's song to the tune.
"Give me a good strong ale
wake me up tomorrow
let me dream of maiden's veils
and touch me not with sorrow!"
"I'll brave the greatest storms
I'll sail a thousand miles!
I'll climb a rose of thorns

The song went on into the morning, raising the spirits of everyone who heard

can sense by looking at him, this is one bard who's been around. I
wouldn't be surprised if he's done some time."
"We shall," Loranna says, thinking to herself How did Tris say it
back in Gemin? Nothing happens by chance?
After Shaka comments on the bard, Loranna mutters "We seem to draw an
interesting sort of person here ..." as she heads over to Rymlin.
"Hail, serjo; have any other songs for us tonight?" she asks,
smiling.

He walked to where Loranna was sitting and took up a seat next to her, "I

Rymlin bows once more before ascending to his singing position. Rymlin notices
Loranna's Nordic features and her ashen skin. It dawns upon his that he has
indeed met the famed Loranna. Though he had been imprisoned during her
campaign, Rymlin had heard the same stories as everyone else, and remembers
that she was, indeed, a Nord. He recalls a song he once heard in Dagon Fel,
many years ago. Strumming his harp to a much faster tune, he began to sing...
"By Kyne we'll fight a good ol' round
we'll leave our foes upon the ground
they'll toss and turn to no avail
for we've been drinking Nordic ale!"
"The sun will set upon the snow
but we'll be warm far down below
for in our halls the fire's hot
and in our hearts the pain is naught!"
"By dawn again we'll shine our shields
and take our own of farmer's yields
we'll fight a thousand elves and more
and bring their heads to honor Shor!
"When the dust is cleared we'll lift our blades
and come back home to waiting maids
we'll lift our mead and cheer for him
who fought the most before the win"
Rymlin's song went on for several more verses. After he had finished, he
stepped off the stool, and picked up some drakes that had been placed in a
plate by his feet. He placed the harp by it's owner, and walked over to the
barkeep. Placing the gold from the plate on the table, he said to the Dunmer
"Flin please." Rymlin turned around on the stool, and leaned back.

"Well, we have a fledgling Mage Guild here; if you're not averse to
joining them I'm sure there's work there," she says. "We're growing
still as a town, so there may be other places where a mage could ply his

alertness vanished. "I'm sorry" said Rymlin, yawning "But I just
realized I haven't slept in two days. I've been so busy since coming here. If

comments. "And I'm not even trying to make them tired ..."
She mulls over Rymlin's comments in her mind, Shaka's observations ringing in
her head; she'd talk to Dram later about the new people who she just met, and
come to think of it, didn't Slyvos promise to help with Ald Raathim's
information network?
It was getting late; most everyone she had come to drink with was asleep now,
one way or another. She sits down to finish her drink, thinking over what the
upcoming days would hold.

one side painted golden? Whatever his stock, only the figure’s face is shown,
the rest of him covered by his heavy robes, his hood covering even his ears and

He moves farther into town, the people he passes paying little notice – or

shake off his puzzlement at Dram’s question, “Lead the way then, I have a story
to hear. You don’t mind if I take notes, do you?”
"On my story, no," Dram says, his eyebrow still raised. "It will
be somewhat new having someone write down my war stories but that will be
fine."
Dram leads the Vivec-Faced Robed Person to the local tavern, where he nods to
Isidor and Falco - with a trace of wariness, the robed figure might note.
Ordering a greef and bread, Dram chooses a quiet little corner in which to sit,
and beckons the robed figure to make himself comfortable. "Right; let's
see. The Azurites were planning to sacrifice the child of Vivec and Azura on
Hogithum; the heroes who had been following the Lady of the castle all through
her tenure as Azura's vessel had concocted a plan to stop them, but they needed
military force ..."

Isidor sits at the bar, and begins to sing, in a voice much
different from his usual nordic brouge
The wilds of Skyrim, where we grew up
We've seen werewovles grow from young pups
Snow falling everywhere,
into the villages, into the lairs
Sun shining brightly above North Hall
up to Dawnstar, down to Sungard
the path of the warriror, the path of the bard
Wind blowing fircely across the plains
He drinks some water, and begins to sing again
Sovngarde, sovengarde, the heaven in the skies
that is where the path leads, where the ending lies
The mead flows forever, the company's good
If I could leave for there now, I would
But, I must earn my right to go up there
to leave right now, would be most unfair

The figure with a face of two hues promptly retrieved a quill
and paper, and began to scribble notes while listening to Dram talk.
Dram continues. "We had many warriors band together. Nords from Skyrim,
who came at the call of the white-haired Aricyn, the hero who drove Azura out
of the Lady Loranna's body with the fabled Moon Reiver. King Helseth's armies,
granted I am told with the rightous cry that his Morrowind would not fall
without every last man dying to defend it. We of Ald Raathim, who had fought
against a tremendous force of Azurites weeks prior and by the help of the
legendary heroes and our own will to fight for our freedom, prevailed against a
vastly superior foe. All these and others, drawn together to storm Red Mountain
while a select group, many of whom had traveled with the Lady since her bloody
trip through Skyrim, went via a secret path to the Heart Chamber, bearing a
weapon of incredible power to use against Azura and her soulstone pillar."
"We waited, scrolls of divine intervention in hand, waiting for the signal
that the shrine in Moonmoth was restored. At the signal, the other alters to
the Gods of the Imperials were sundered, and the scrolls invoked; we appeared
as one mighty army in a flash of magic ready to march against the servants of
Azura. As I mentioned before, it was terrifying, but no man would falter; there
was simply too much at stake."
"The white-haired Aricyn was met by his blond-haired brother, the Imperial
Cyndarius, and the army was given to Cyndarius to command; a better military
leader, I have not yet met. We marched, our eyes ever looking skyward, our ears
straining to hear the first cries of Winged Twilights that would herald the
coming of the enemy."
"All too soon, they came ... and then, the battle was joined." Dram
pauses to take a sip of greef and have some of his bread.
"Still more fervor than plot, or can you see the shape of the plot
now?" Dram asks. "I can pause to answer questions if you like."

“So you were attacked by winged twilights,” the figure said
without looking up from his paper, “what then?”
"We fought," Dram says, the barest hint of a smile coming to his
face.
"Like most battles, it was chaos; this one even more so because the enemy
came from both the sky and on the ground," he continues. "Our archers
and mages rained death into the ranks of the Twilights, but there were so many
they could only do so much. Still, we fought; some say even the vampires and
werewolves threw in their lot against the Azurites on that night, and at least
one ancient mage called upon a veritable dragon to aid out fight."
"But the Azurites were numerous, and skilled, and zealous; more, they had
the backing of powerful Daedra, the likes of which are not often seen on Nirn.
A great battle between our strongest wizard and a monstrosity I cannot recall
without a shiver down my spine took place in the sky, rivaling the parrapton's
struggle with the Twilights for sheer ferocity. We fought until night became
dawn and the sign of the Serpent hung in the sky, heralding the birth of Sen-Yedda
- in the hands of the enemy. And all seemed lost."
"But, we fought on. The whole day, lopping off limbs, stabbing my sword
through chest after chest, fending off Twilights and Azurites alike. As I
alluded to before, you lose track of how many had fallen around you; the ashen
wastes were so soaked in blood it was as if fighting in a quagmire. But, but by
bit, we somehow made our way to Red Mountain ..."
"And then ..." Dram pauses for another sip of greef. "Things
grew hectic."

"Well, there's not too much left to tell," Dram says. "And from
here things happened very quickly. The heroes who had been sneaking into the
Heart Chamber had been captured, but by this point, they were being freed.
Aricyn defeated the immortal Alandro Sul, son of Azura, by destroying the
Wraithmail, and in the process freed the hero Solin from Sul's control. Azura
possessed an Ashlander wise woman, and attempted to sacrifice Sen-Yedda, but
was stopped by a brave girl who plunged headlong to protect the newborn
child."
Dram shifts a bit in his seat. "This next part ... well, things happened
very quickly," he says. "The heroes were being overwhelmed by Azura's
servants, the pillar was emitting strange power that made my head spin. Then
the heroes were free, and putting their secret weapon into play, the rest of us
fighting to hold off the enemy until they could complete their plan. Something
happened, their weapon was dropped into the lava ..."
"And, well, then there were no more Azurites, and dusk fell and the twelve
contallations shone brightly in the sky, and for a moment, everyone was
jubiliant because we'd made it, somehow, against all odds. And then, we ran like
maniacs, because Red Mountain was erupting. I recalled back home and went to
see who else had made it back, and from there, I helped with what needed
helping until I finally collapsed, desperate for rest."
Dran bites into the rest of his bread. "From there, most people know the
story; Red Mountain's eruption devestated much of Vvardenfell, though the
Azurites had already been a scourge upon the land prior to that. But those of
us who lived continued on."

"That's everything that I know," Dram replies. "The Lady of the

could probably tell you what happened on their end. She also was part of the

no one will care, no one will greive

Somewhere in Tamriel, a lone priest fumbling over texts and
thoughts and holy items is caught upon by a brush of meanings, and begins to
write.
***
The foundations of joy dug, into an earth so uncertain as to make its
accomplishment seem an impossibility, brings to light the notion that such a
thing as happiness is nonexistent, and any episode of association with such a
thing is merely illusion. For as one cannot build a house where there is not
solid ground, how may one find joy in a world where one cannot know what even
the next day will bring, whether it will be bad weather or fair, and whether
that which you relied on today will again tomorrow bear your weight?
It would all seem a terrible misgiving, and perhaps would be, but recall that a
house may be built even on water, provided there is solid ground beneath. Know
also that no ground on which you have ever laid foot is unmoving, and yet
houses are still built. Many are torn down, either by the workings of the world
or the hands of the builders – which is to say us – but many more are built
also, and many stand for quite some duration.
So we find that joy is not merely an illusion, but a evidence, that is it is an
image of something greater, which is to say deeper, than episodes of its own
realization. For as we build on ground that is not solid (and a house cannot
stand forever if the ground does not stay put), we may also find joy in a world
devoid, at times, of reason for celebration, for there is a moment here where
we are surrounded by good graces, and a moment following where we are alone and
have nothing. Mourn during the latter times; rejoice during the former; for you
will see them both, again and again and again.
Realize then, that as the present manifestation of joy is merely an image of
something greater, so to is each one who is capable of perceiving it merely an
image of something greater themselves, that which has been, that which is, and
that which will be. So then the value of a person, while measured by so many
inconsequential, though perhaps situationally necessitated, standards, is in
reality based on this deeper substance, and all episodes experienced as joy are
merely brushes with the higher, which is to say deeper, ideal.
So then, you have value because lacking you value is nonexistent. And
therefore, take all things in passing, the evil and the good, for the good are
merely hints towards something greater, and the evil merely realizations of the
schism. Take each in turn, and make of yourself a house of joy.

A young girl screamed as a leathery wing envolped her. She felt
claws race across her face and shoulder. Blood sprayed everywhere blurring her

A gleam caught her eye, as someone stabbed the malicious creature was killed.
An Imperial stood over her, is rough face showing hardened determiniation.
Throwing the young girl into a shed, the Imperial yelled, "Go! Hide, I
shall get your brother and sister!"
A bow broke the only window, the little girl climbed a few boxes to look out. A
winged deformation flew in, mortally wounding the Imperial and severing the
head from a boy bosmer. It turned... saw the girl through the window. The girl
screamed...

An ally way, Daggerfall City, Daggerfall
The mist was getting hevier... it was not safe to wander home in this weather,
"silly Lacoriz" thought maranda aloud... as he bumped into a man...
"Sorry" she said, before looking up and realizing who it was... she
jumped back, and drew her sword
"Now now now, thats no way to treat an old friend" Duke Drevious
said, slowly walking out of the mist
"Since when have you been an old friend?" Maranda asked bitterly,
"I thought I was over all those Daedric things, but they seem to just keep
coming"
"Ha ha ha, you have things so wrong, Maranda, I am not here by orders of
my liege, but here in order to get somthing you have..." Drevious eyed the
sword in her hands
"No, you cant have this, its a memento from a friend..." Maranda
said, as Drevious outsteched his hand, the mist slowly formed into a sword
"Shall I fight you for it?" asked Drevious
"No, I shant give it up, no matter what" Maranda replied, her sword
ready to strike
"Then how about this..." Drevious dissapeared into the mist "You
take me to this wedding as your date, and I will forget all about it... none
the less, I shall return on the day before the wedding, ether to reclaim my
sword, or claim my date" he finished, laughing evily
"What should I do?" she asked herself, "What were his
motives?" she asked herself, "What will Lacoriz think???" she
asked herself, as she hurried home

That morning, Shaka wandered through the marketplace of Ald Raathim. Although
he hadn't drunk enough the night before to be hungover, he still felt down. Too
many people seemed to be popping up in Loranna's domain, and he wasn't sure how
the group would fit into that.
No, he had to be honest with himself. Shaka wasn't sure how he himself would
fit in. Rymlin, for example. He had seen how the dunmer had caught Loranna's
eye. Damn bards always seem to draw the ladies, he mused. Stupid to feel
jealous, but . . . .
Shaka glanced at Solange's flower and herb shop as he passed it. A good woman
there, but Shaka had found no spark between them. He wasn't the type to toy
with a woman's affections if there were no future. . . .
He had noticed Anya rush in that morning, slamming the door to her guest
quarters. Shaka wanted to talk with her; by her body language recently, he had
a fair guess that Anya was still uncomfortable with Dres Loranna. He would have
to hold off for now, though. The Argonian didn't want to meddle when Anya's nerves
were obviously raw.
Shaka passed the town's fledgling Mage Guild, still in a former farmhouse. He
was reminded of the day, only a month or so previous, when he had spoken there
to Loranna for only the second time.
It was odd to realize that the citizens of Ald Raathim would never know that
they had been spared complete devastation at the hands of Raithmat's ghost.
Loranna's group would never tell them that they had averted a flood, and the
deadline was now several days past at the least.
Shaka had received something of a shock this morning, when he had viewed an oil
painting of the late Jazbet, Loranna's husband and Lord of Daruhn. For the
first time, Shaka realized that Slyvos didn't just resemble Jazbet -- the lich
was inhabiting Jazbet's original body. No wonder Slyvos was reclusive, and that
neither Loranna's group nor the commoners liked to discuss the subject.
It changed little for Shaka. Jazbet had been, from all accounts, a good lord as
well as a good being. And if Slyvos loved Loranna and she, him, that would have
to be good enough for Shaka too.

Rymlin woke up in a dank, dirty place. He looked around, all he
could see was a sliver of light rntering from underneath his door. He tried to
turn his head, but pain shot through his body, causing him to pass out again.
The next time he awoke, he saw the ground moving underneath him: he could feel
himself being dragged along. He looked on either side to see golden boots
treading a stone floor.
"Thank you" said the voice of an old elf. "You may leave, I
don't think this boy will be of any danger to me now."
The ordinators picked Rymlin up and sat him in a wooden chair. The room was
dark, lit only by a few torches against the walls. Rymlin struggled to hold himself
up in the seat, his head felt like it was about to split in two.
"Do you know where you are Rymlin?" said the older mer
"What is this place? How do you know my name?" asked Rymlin, his eyes
opened wide. The pain was driving him mad.
The priest telekinetically moved a small stone into the wall, and watched
Rymlin wince as he tried to look for the sound. "As I thought" said
the priest "You're lucky to be alive Rymlin, few people survive a strike
from an ordinator." said the old man, moving towards Rymlin. His hands
began to glow as he cast a healing spell "Let me help you." a bright
light came forth and Rymlin could feel the pain release from his body.
"Now, where were we?"
"Where am I?" said Rymlin, looking around the dark, stone room. It
looked like some sort of cave.
"This, my boy, is the ministry of truth. I am Favas Saren. I'm supposing
you'd like to know what's going to happen to you." the priest walked over
to a wooden table and poured a glass of flin for himself. "Well normally,
attacking a priest would be considered a capital offense, but we have reviewed
your case, and decided to let you be free. You are after all, only a child, and
you had a very traumatic experience. However, we cannot allow you the graces of
Almsivi again. In fact, you are to be banished forthwith from Vivec City, to
return shall bear the penalty of death. Do you understand what I am
saying?"
Rymlin only nodded. The boy couldn't clearly think of what would happen to him,
or what he would do now.
"Now, if you would follow me." The priest walked down a hallway with
Rymllin following. "We have arranged living quarters for you in the new
Imperial town of Seyda Neen. Once you leave this place, you may never come to
Vivec, for any reason, do you understand?" said the priest, opening a
wooden door. In the room stood a short robed man. "The is Rydres, he will
teleport you to Seyda Neen." the priest motioned to the robed man. "I
do wish you the best of luck." said the priest, turning to leave.
Rymlin walked over to the man "What am I supposed to do once I get there?
he asked, sitting in a wooden chair.
"That's none of my business kid, I'm just getting you there. Now close
your eyes, it's going to be bright." with that the man cast a teleporting
spell, and lightt flooded Rymlin's vision.
--------------------------------------------
Rymlin awoke with a start. He opened the curtains of his room. It looked to be
the same time as when he had gone to bed, except now there was a light rain. He
went out to the bar, and used some of his last gold to purchase breakfast.
"What day is it?" he asked the barkeep, as he ate his egg.
"Thursday sir, you've been sleeping for an entire day." the barkeep
said, placing a box of new glasses into the racks.
"What do I owe you for my room?"
"It's been cover'd. Someone liked your singing I guess. Big Nord payed me
for your room for the next week."
"Well" thought Rymlin, "It looks like I'm off to a good
start."

knocking the window. He moaned, cursed his hangover and opened the window. Then
he quickly backed off the window, as a raven flew right in with a piece of
paper tied into it's feet. Dastril said: "Hey little fellow. I thought

Not bothering to don his robe today, Nalion walked down the aisle towards the

school the other day that came now to ask him to meet the Lady of Ald Raathim
in the study.
Not bothering to don his robe today, Nalion walked down the aisle towards the
study, clad in a blue shirt and matching black trousers. Without knocking, he
entered and greeted his nordic friend with a fond smile.
"You called and here I am.", the mage said, with a half-mocking
expression on his face. "What is it, Loranna?"
Knowing her long enough, he skipped the formalities and helped himself to a
glass of wine.
"No robe today?" Loranna asks, raising her eyebrows and grinning.
As Nalion makes himself comfortable, she says "I didn't mention this
beofre because we were wrapped up with dealing with Raithmat, but I got a
letter at the end of last week - one I think you'd like to see."
She holds out the letter from Allie to Nalion. "Here."

Night was falling; Loranna and Dram, mindful of Thom's encounter
with vampires the previous night, increased the nightly patrols of the town and
the grounds surrounding it. Dram, in addition, quietly told the patrols to keep
their eyes open for Isidor, who was still out in the wilderness somewhere.
Loranna wondered about Tiras Mattias, the Vivec-looking tale collector, but had
yet to encounter him. She shrugged and went about her business, confident that
if it was meant to be she would meet this interesting fellow in time.
As the moons came into view, and the stars shone down, Ald Raathim quietly went
about its nighttime business.

"Make sure you keep an eye out for that big Nord Isidor. He's gone into

The patrolman nodded and continuesd his route. Falco thought to himself on this

That Morning-
Rymlin finished his breakfast and returned to his room. Retrieving a fresh
robe, proceeded to change. Pulling off his enchanted black garment, he stood
before the mirror, looking over the tattoos on his body. He still remembered
what each one meant. He touched his fingers to his chest where a name was
written in elaborate Daedric runes. He smiled slightly as he read the name.
Rymlin turned from the mirror, and clothed himself in a luxurious dark red
robe, with black around either cuff, and down the center. He pulled back his
hair and tied it behind his head, "Now, to examine this mages guild.
Perhaps I can be of some use there." Rymlin walked out the door of the
tavern and over to the newly founded Guild of Mages.
The place would have been hard to find, had it not been for the universal
insignia of the guild on the wall of the old farmhouse. Rymlin looked about and
saw various craftsmen working as old mages instructed them. Rymlin opened the
door and came into a makeshift guild hall. The hall was occipied by several
tables and a single bookshelf against the wall. Scrolls, books, and soulgems
were strewn about and mages bustled about trying to get things in order.
Everyone was so bust that they didn't happen to notice the new face as Rymlin
stepped in the room. Watching for the first person he could talk to, he found a
short Bosmer trying to place three books on the top shelf of the bookshelf. As
he struggled to step up, he knocked out an old skull that had been being used
as a bookend. Right before it reached the ground, Rymlin caught it with
telekinesis and placed it back in its proper posistion.
The small elf looked at Rymlin surprised. "Thank you friend. I don't think
we've met. What's your name?" said the mer, turning to grab more books.
Rymlin hesitated before speaking. His name was on the most wanted lists of all
of Vvardenfell, it was only a matter of time before the news came to the
mainland. "My name is Ash." said Rymlin, using his last name.
"Well, welcome to the Guild of Mages Ash, I don't suppose you'd like to
join?" said the Bosmer, facing Rymlin "We could really use the
help."
Rymlin smiled as he said "In fact, that's why I've come. I'm looking for a
place to lodge for a bit. If I work here, can I get food and shelter until I
find some real work?"
"Of course! Go outside and talk to Treniel, he's the Altmer in the purple
robe, can't miss him. He'll give you something to do." the Bosmer grabbed
another book and turned to Rymlin before he left the room. "By the way,
you'll be staying in the inn across from the tavern, they're giving us free
lodging until the guild has some bunking quarters."
With that, Rymlin went outside to the Altmer and began working.

day, but he could probably see a blur, and smell the characteristic scent of an
Argonian.
Although, Shaka thought with almost a grin, I've had ladies tell me it was not
unpleasant for being bitter ....
For his part, Shaka could hear the rustling of the Khajiit's approach, though
not with pinpoint accuracy, and Shaka's sense of smell was also good, though
not in the Khajiit's league.
The duel became long moments of sensing the enemy, and trying to find the
center of the duel, both within oneself and on the ground....
Shaka suddenly felt the rush of displaced air from a sword, and shifted left.
He captured the Khajiit's weapon for a second by crossing his own mace and
dagger, sparks fanning out into the night, but then the Khajiit twisted away.
Shaka heard faint laughter before the deadly duel continued . . . .

The Khajiit was darting back and forth, laughing at the
befuddled Argonian. "Can't keep up, can you? Fine." He stops
"Fight me, like a real man."
"Your choice, Khajiit," said Shaka. His opponent was visible now,
though a shadow; crossing swords while invisible threw one out of that state.
But Shaka was still more than three-quarters stealthed.
At the same time, the clock was running out on Shaka's Bound weapons.
Abandoning indirection, Shaka closed with his enemy. Golden sparks flared into
the night as the two fought, sword versus punch dagger and mace; Shaka's
opponent was a capable fighter and, he began to realize, stronger than a Khajiit
had a right to be.
Vampire? thought Shaka with some dismay. But there was no time to think as the
two fought amid the trees. At last, Shaka caught the Khajiit's sword with the
flanges of the daedric mace and hurled it into the night.
Just then, his bound weapons disappeared, their course run. Shaka crouched into
the fighting positions of the Rain of Sand, ironically a Khajiit invention. His
opponent was not slow to respond, though it must have looked to him like having
to fight the outline of an Argonian.
Shaka took a kick from the enemy leader on his left bracer, his arm nearly
going numb, before backfisting him with his right bracer. The Khajiit took the
blow better than expected and whirled into a sweeping kick, trying to knock
Shaka off his feet. Shaka himself spun into the air and rebounded off the trunk
of a tree, attempting to land on the Khajiit with an elbow smash, but his
opponent was inhumanly fast.
And now the Amulet wore off, and Shaka was himself visible.

Screaming, the little girl ran to the back of the shed, watching
the window. The leathery wings coming through as the creature tried to get it's
prey.
Crying, the little girl hid in the corner, but it wasn't enough to hide
comepletely. The winged demon broke the wall, cantored in, staring, it's almost
feminine face snearing.
Blood dripping down her face and soaking her left side of her clothes, all she
could do was sit, too weak to even run. The Azurite demon ran towards her,
screaching, causing the girl to cower, her ears held tight in fear. She felt it
hit her, and then it stopped, stooping over the bosmer child.
Crawling out she saw what saved her, a broadsword lodged in the back. She saw
who it belonged too, the Imperial, her Uncle. His eyes were sightless, a look
of rage permentally etched in his face, never again to soften when she called
his name.
Crying she fell back, ragged, choking breaths coming through her sobs. And then
all went black.
Waking up and nearly toppling out of her bed, and sat there for a moment,
recollecting her thoughts. Just leave me alone, why won't you just leave me
alone.
Grabbing her armor and weapons, she ran out of her room. Some gaurds were
slightly suprised as a dishoveled, blonde elf ran past, but they ignored her.
Running to the beach, she stopping, breathing hard, tears sparkling on her
face. So real, so real. It's all happening again, as if I'm living that
nightmare. Why? Why now, why is it haunting me after all that time. Why does it
feel more alive than dream?
A glow settled beside her, she recognized Lotus' new light from the reforging
of her spear. His small frame allowed for him to get closer, and using his
tail, to nuzzle up against her. Smiling for once, she scratched his chin.
She continued walking, not really sure of her direction, not really caring
either, hoping that the solitude of the forest she knew so well, and to get
away from that, that woman, might at least give her peace of mind if not
answers.

stomach. He saw Shaka run past him, his position being hid by his log.
"Shaka" he rasped "Shaka".
Shaka stopped, his head snapping to the side, before he located Isidor's voice.
He crouched next to the Nord, noting grimly that Isidor had been hit in the
gut.
"Aw hell, Iz ...." he said softly, and his hands glowed with the Heal
Companion spell. Assuming they survived this ambush, there was a chance that
Isidor wouldn't bleed to death now or die of shock before they could get him
back to the castle.
"How many are left, boyo? We got their leader .... They're vamps,
too."

Falco's saber was in his right hand his dagger in his left. He
looked around, scanning the woods for any more of the vamps. An arrow came from
directly in front of him and hit his right arm, causing him to drop his saber.
He did however know where his foe was now. A flick of his left wrist and the
dagger had been tossed from his hand and into his enemy's throat.

Hearing a scream a slight distance in the forest, Anya went into
a sprint to see what the problem was. That was no woman's scream. Must be
bad.
A few minutes later, she reached the battle. Adjusting her eyes to the night,
she noticed that Isidor laying on the ground. Smiling at him, "You foolish
warrior Nord, see what too much drink gets you, all shot up."
Unslinging her spear, she called Lotus forth. Let's hope this was more than
a cosmetic upgrade. she thought.
Slowing down, and using her honed sense of hearing, she tried to spot one of
the attackers. A familar buzz caught her interest, and she jumped to the side,
catching an arrow to the side, but thankfully not peircing through yet.
Spinning around, she lept towards the trees, spotting the sniper, Lotus' glow
illuminating the area. "Got you!" she yelled, driving her spear
foward at the sniper, who wasn't prepared for the speedy assault.
"What the?" Suprised crossed Anya's face as the archer grabbed her
spear. That is much to fast. Vampire... maybe? Then the world lit up, and she
tumbled to the ground.
Getting up, she saw the charred hulk of the Vampire getting up and stumbling
after her, followed by another fireball from Lotus.
"You bugger, you hit me too!" Yelling at Lotus, she charged the
Vampire one last time and ran him through. "What an amazing creature you
are Lotus. I wa half expecting something new, and I'm still surpries."

Calling Lotus, Anya whispered in his ear. After a moment, a few powerful flaps
sent him above the trees and towards the castle, hopefully able to get the
message across to Loranna.
Using her spear as a prop, she followed Falco and Shaka back towards Ald
Raathim.
Cliff Racers were not all that common around Ald Raathim, despite the castle
being on an actual cliff. Thus, Lotus's flight over the town elicited a few surprised
and alarmed shouts, especially given his unique skin coloring and general aura
of cliff racery power.
Lotus found the rocks and two arrows lobbed in his direction easy enough to
avoid, and he zeroed in on the castle, having a fairly good idea where Loranna
slept. The problem, now, was in trying to communicate to the Lady of Daruhn the
situation ...
Hovering by the castle tower, Lotus rapped on the closed window of the study
with his tail, prompting a Khajiit servant to go see what's the matter. His
scream of "AHH!!! Flying Demon Racer!" roused both Dram and Loranna
from what had been otherwise sound sleeps.
" ... The heck? Lotus?" Loranna muttered, her clothes hastily thrown
on.
"Not exactly a demon," Dram muttered, bare-chested and barefoot, ebony
sword in hand.
Lotus flapped his wings and made himself look as worried and urgant as a cliff
racer could, and Dram and Loranna figured out at about the same time that
"He must be trying to get help for Anya." Then both Dram and Loranna
glanced sidelong at one another for speaking in unison.
"I'll go get my armor," Dram says.
"Come back here; we might as well fly to her," Loranna says, running
to her room to get her potions and to get properly dressed.
With flying potions consumed, Loranna and Dram floated out the window - which
was closed up again by the still-rattled servant - and followed Lotus, who
chose to angle around town to avoid getting any more rocks thrown at him,
before homing in on Anya's position. The two beleagured figures land near the wounded
party, Loranna already asking "What happened to you guys?" as she
hurries over, blue magic emenating from her hands.

Falco found him, and I had tagged along. Some of them recalled out . . . . I
think I got their leader, a Khajiit; if he wasn't their leader, he should have

Loranna looks to Dram, who mutters "Where are the patrols

making sure there's no lurking vampire or bandit nearby.
"I see," Loranna says, healing Isidor, then Anya, Falco, and Shaka in
turn, and casting Cure disease on the lot of them for good measure.
"Thom's instincts were right, it seems. Hopefully this is the last of them
..."
There is the sound of a scuffle, a most ungodly sound that makes Loranna look
up in alarm. A couple moments later, and one of the night patrols appears,
fighting a running battle with a snarling Orc vampire who was bellowing
"Lousy no good pansy Khajjit, leaving me behind like that! Malacath take
yer fur and use it to wipe his filth-hole, now STOP RUNNING AND LET ME DRINK

Dram simply walks up to the Orc, whose axe was pressed deeply into one guard's
bonemold shield, and lops off his head with such lack of ceremony that it takes
everyone, the Orc included, to realize he's now dead.
"Er ... thank you sir," the guard says, sounding a bit sheepish as
Dram wipes the blood off his blade.
"You're welcome," Dram says, looking over the two guards. The two
Dunmer youths look slightly nonplussed.
Loranna lets out the breath she didn't realize she had taken, and lowers her
hands. "Let me look at the two of you, too ..."

"This should pan out to something of interest, I suppose I'll follow

a spell of speed and moved as fast as he could to the forest's edge, still
tracking the racer. Bringing up a glowing hand, a small ball of light appeared

I wonder if the Tribunal knew what they were getting into on the front end. I
know the Aedra didn't. Eight personalities, bound together, each serving a
separate function. Tempers grow short, goals and desires clash, the parts of
the body forget that they are in fact one body. How shall they endure each
other for minutes, much less millenia?
Tumble against me, my beloveds, like rocks in a silver stream, until all rough
places are worn away, and all dull colors gleam.
Loranna, my dear, if you see these words... tell my little love I miss him,
tell him I am coming, coming quickly, his vigil is almost over. Solunastra is
awakened. We have all we need to set the world to rights and mend the crack
that allows the spirits to enter. My last task here was to recover Solin, lest
by risking so much of himself to find a place to set his egg, he be lost to our

eyes; he is coming back to us.
The path will open soon. Watch, and be ready.

El-Ahrairah shrugged off his antediluvian methodology. He
reached inside, found the radical, the revisionist, and tossed it into the
fire. The pendulum swayed to the right, and to the left. Satisfied, the
moderate said, "Greetings!" It blossomed with the weight of an idea,
disappeared like some ideas, and then cemented itself. El-Ahrairah was drinking
tea somewhere.
El-Ahrairah scratched his soft fur. The fur wasn't old. He realized what he had
just done didn't really matter, but would sound good to some of the olmes-raht,
or some of the young adults. They always love to be mystified, El-Ahrairah
thought. Such a premise mystified him, like the premise of conservation - to an
orc.
Through the interim of the past few months, the age, El-Ahrairah had made
himself busy through the strenuous tasks of agriculture, education, and home
management. Serious things, for a buoyant adult. The children - they were
growing up. Some of them would want to inherit the farm, a few would move away,
seek adventure. El-Ahrairah had sent his most intelligent daughter, Rylliah, to
Lillandril University on Summerset. There was something to be proud of.

The night passed, the weary heroes laid to rest in their rooms
in the castle, or in guest rooms yet unfillled. Loranna tended to everyone to
her satisfaction, seeking assurance that injuries were indeed healed without
complication. At last, feeling she could do no more, she returned to her own
room for some sleep; the morning would come all too soon.
The new day brought with it new concerns. There had been an accident in the
building of the healers' new hall and time and money both would be lost;
fortunately the injuries suffered were slight. Word of King Helseth's
steadily-growing hopeless condition had the House rustling its feathers, as
people wondered what would become of the throne should the clipped-eared
poisoner pass away. Some people were insisting that Ald Raathim needed archers
trained to deal with cliff racers after Lotus's nighttime flight to the castle,
and Dram was once again turning his calm voice and steely-red gaze to his
advantage in extolling his guards to their acme.
The summer season was past its half way point; people were quietly making plans
for the late season harvest and its attendant celebration. The castle's
basement was by now fully cleared out and Loranna could start making plans to
move her alchemy workroom and Slyvos's enchanting lab downstairs, to take
advantage of the greater space. Minor disputes regarding the distribution of
farmland continued and Loranna, after dealing with them, asked Kallen about the
feasibility of purchasing more land for Ald Raathim, while privately hoping her
plans to bring new trades into town would be in full swing by spring of next
year.
And during the day, Loranna found the time to write in her own journal, regarding
new corespondances ...

Perhaps the Tribunal knew, perhaps they didn't. It's hard enough at times
keeping we mortal adventurers and heroes together in one place without people
growing cross or restless or simply withdrawn into their own pursuits; I can
only imagine that as below, so above, on an even greater scale.
Tumble we will, dear; may our tumbling burnish us all and show hidden delights
in each, never before seen in the light of the stars.
I shall pass on your message, Allie dear; I have already shown Nalion your
first letter and he writes to you as I have as yet not, so intent on writing a
reply worthy of your beautiful words that I've quite boxed my thoughts and
feelings in. So many things you said in so few lines ... how many times have I
read your words about the mythos of the solitary hero, or the stages of the
hero's journey, each time a new thought popping into my head, putting into a
new light a question that had puzzled me - sometimes even without knowing
before I had been puzzled! How many times have I read your description of your
friend the Harper and been almost able to see him standing before me, and
longed to dance to the music he plays and see his smoke-filled gaming hall, or
this strange, special world you have gone to in search of an answer for our
troubles.
I watch and wait, ready to welcome old friends back; I prepare myself for what
may lie ahead, and look forward to the time when we can say of this adventure,
that people lived happily ever after - though we ourselves, I know, have more
adventures before us.
And I even look forward to feeling dumbfounded and foolish again when talking
to you, Allie; until then though give everyone my love and tell Tris we're
running low on that vintage he so loves.
===
Loranna looked back at her writing, thinking to herself that she was getting a
little closer to what she wanted to say; she'd wait to see what Nalion wanted
to tell Allie before finalizing her own thoughts. Smiling, she took Allie's
letters and held them close, remembering.

Nalion sat at a table in the library of Ald Raathim. The room
was only scarcely lit, only a small candle was giving off just enough light to
see. The rest of the library was almost dark. Shadows, created by the candle's
flame, flickered among the bookshelves, peaceful shades, not the monstrous
fiends of Raithmat. All in all, the library gave off a dusty air of literature,
history, wisdom and logic.
The mage leaned back in his chair, turning the earthquake-sigil from the tavern
around in his hands. His brow was furrowed as it usually was when he was deep
in thought. Nalion knew what this thing could do - he had already told Loranna
and Shaka - but he did not know who crafted the sigil and with what power and
original intent.
The Breton turned the sigil upwards and looked at the inscription on the
surface. In the middle of the circular wooden disk was the original inscription
of the Dunmer in the tavern, written in daedric script:
LHKLGH
Drawn around these letters was Nalion's burnt-black circle to trap the spell
inside, as well as his own letters of binding. Breaking the circle would free
the spell, of that, the mage was certain. However, it was not the power of the
trapped spell that was troubling him, it was the intent behind the original
script.
Nalion scratched his head, and looked up for a moment to set his eyes at ease
from concentratedly staring at the item in his hands. His gaze traced the
titles of the books in the nearest shelve. Many of these he had read, yet one
caught his eye. "Spirit of the Daedra". He had first read this book
when he had freshly joined House Telvanni in Sadrith Mora. Nalion wove a spell
and stretched out a hand towards the book and it began to float towards him, flapping
open as if invisible hands touched the leather-bound folio.
"What we cannot decipher, perhaps..." he whispered.

Thom stared into the fire at his camp. He had been asleep for a
full day and a half. He woke with a terrible feeling. Quickly, he rose and
gathered Orome and his bow. He quickly made his way to the castle, and saw
Shaka standing in a hallway. "Something has happened. It was vampire,
wasn't it?" Another tear came down Thom's cheek, but in his eyes, a fire
was burning. "Who is hurt?"
Posted by: syronj Yesterday, 09:19 PM
Shaka wearily put a hand on Thom's shoulder. "It's okay,
Thom. Isidor, Falco, Anya and I got banged around a little, but Loranna helped
us, as usual. There were several vampires again. I think I got their leader,
and Dram finished the last of them, those that didn't recall away."
"If you'll excuse me, I need to meditate for a while." Shaka walked
off to the guards' training dojo.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A healing Shaka sat cross-legged in meditation on the polished wooden floor. He
had borrowed a training room at the castle for the morning. Sunlight slanted in
through the mica windows.
He thought back to the words of one of his unarmed combat instructors.
"Sand is soft, yet wears away all things. Be like the Rain of Sand that
yields and yet buries your opponent. When Khajiit finished with you, you will
be able even to kill without anger, if need be."
Shaka's mind drifted for a moment. For some reason, he thought back to his
Black Marsh birthplace; he hadn't thought of it in a long time. He had been
raised by a village, not by a couple. He smiled for a moment in fond memory of
the many aunts and uncles.
Focus, he told himself. He found himself thinking of Anya's losses, though he
couldn't really put himself in her shoes. It must have happened less than a
year ago, the death of her family at Azurite hands.
Shaka was now levitating a few inches off the hardwood. It means nothing, he
told himself. A parlor trick. Focus.
Ashes everywhere. He had returned to Vvardenfell only weeks after Red Mountain
had gone up. Instead of a cheerful, thriving Imperial town of half-timbered
homes, Caldera was a wasteland, a grey plain of ash.
The orc knight Ghorak had survived, he found, though dispirited and penniless
now. Shaka had rented the top floor from him for several years previously,
getting a discount rate for having run off Ghorak's sponging relatives. Shaka
smiled briefly when he remembered the barbarians who had built their cooking
fires on the mansion floor.
Shaka and Ghorak had finally located the mansion and dug a tunnel to the top
floor; much of the building had pancaked under the weight of the ash. Though
fighting claustrophobia, Shaka had crawled through the remains of the home to
try to find his collections, but it was little use. Almost all of the ceramics
and dwemer artifacts were smashed, except for the dwemer goblet now in his
guestroom. The Glass armor, the Ebony weapons, and the books .... lost.
The oddest discovery had been that the few legendary artifacts he had won over
the years had vanished without a trace, all save the ones he was already
wearing. Shaka had eventually realized that the gods must have taken them back for
future generations.
Ghorak decided to move on, to look for an orc community away from the
devastation. Shaka had shaken his hand and helped a few in Caldera to dig out.
The morning came when he was free to leave, but uncertain where.
I've heard of a woman to the south, across the sea, he had decided. She's
trying to build a freehold, in the lands of the Dres, of all houses. A lady who
had taken over a small kingdom upon her husband's death. Might as well see this
prodigy.
After weeks of walking and helping the survivors along the way, those who
didn't loathe him on sight for being beast race, Shaka had found himself in an
Ald Raathim alleyway. The castle before him held the remarkable woman whom, it
had turned out, had been pivotal in the Blue Dawn and the later events at Red
Mountain. Shaka had to think of her as "pivotal" rather than "to
blame". He knew how complex the world was, and how millenia of events had
converged to determine the fate of Vvardenfell.
Shaka floated, the dust motes also floating in the morning sun around him,
remembering.

Reichi yawned, sitting up in his room in the castle. He ran a
ashen hand through his hair, before slidding out of bed and dressing in his
armor, and sheathing Bloodfang and The Dagger Of Senses at his sides. He picked
up the helmet he had acquired in the Daedric shrine on Vvardenfell. He had
dubbed it the Shapeshifter's helmet, because last night, while everyone was
having a scuffle with Vampires he had tested his theory about the helmet. It
had changed with him. He could only hope there was more to the set than
a helmet. If there was, however, he bet it was in the hands of a Werewolf, or
another Werebeast. Or with some hairbrained adventurer who knew not of its
power, which was useless to the adventurer anyways.
Placing the helmet under his arm, Reichi walked out into the hallway, towards
the dining room, or whatever the place meals were served was called. Reichi
wasn't one to remeber the room as anything beyound that. Little point in
assigning some grand title to such a room.
Several minutes later found Reichi munching on breakfast. The Dunmer was too
lazy to go all the way to the tavern for a tasier breakfast, and as it was
morning and not night, he couldn't go out and get some fresh meat off a
kagouti or something. Reichi smirked at that thought, glancing at the helmet,
which sat in front of him behind his plate, as he munched on scuttle. Definately
gotta find the rest of that....

Waking up to the ground bumping under her, the bosmer girl
looked around and realized she was travelling. She was in the back of a wooden
cart, caged so that she couldn't leave. She was in there along with several
other children, noticing that one was her older sister and another her younger
brother. She saw her mother in the cart as well.
Looking at herelf, she noticed that she had three rakes along her shoulder. Her
clothes were torn up so much, it barely consisted of covering her modesty. None
of her family where in any better posistion.
"You'll make good slaves. Last a long time, kids do." Sneered a dirty
Dunmer at the six children, his rotting teath showing through.
Her sister had gathered her up the siblings, while the mother pleaded for them
to be let free. Anya closed her eyes, tears running through. Opening her eyes
and seeing what had joined them in the cart, she opened her mouth to scream,
but nothing came out. The winged twilight screached and ran towards them.
A yell nearly tore through her throat, but it was stifled to a small gurgle
from the tears.. Anya woke up kicking, but then relaxed. But... but that's
not what happened. Confusion etched her face. This wasn't what happened
when the mountian erupted. That was much farther back...
Scared to fall asleep again and to face those horrors, she put on some clothes
and went into the library hoping to clear her mind. Noticing a book called
"The Dragon and The Racer." She picked it up to read and stayed there
till morning.

Shaka left, saying "Get some rest."

The Altmer woman who served as a Guild Guide for Ald Raathim's Mage Guild
blinks as a sudden and unscheduled teleportation drops the wounded One in her
circle. "I say, this is most peculiar," she says, frowning at One.
"Shouldn't you be seeking healing?"
"Did someone say healing? I resemble that remark," asks a jaunty
Imperial voice, causing the Altmer woman to sigh and mutter "This is what
passes for humor anong the shorter-lived races ..."
"Ah, don't complain; at least you have a farmhouse instead of a shack to
work in," retorts the Imperial, coming into view; twinkling eyes and a
profile that hints at Breton blood in his ancestry greet One as the robed man
looks him over. "Haven't seen someone as messed up as you since the
Dawn," he says, casting a light healing spell to stop One's bleeding.
"Come on; I'll take you to the glorious Healer's Hut, where the other
people skilled in Restoration in this town ply their trade. You'll love it;
hard cots, low ceilings, but lots of heart ..."
"Don't overwhelm him with such glowing praise," the Altmer woman says
with a curl of her lip. "Really; jealousy doesn't become you ..."
"Me jealous? Nah ..." the Imperial says, grinning. "Just because
one of our number ends up living in the Castle and the rest of us had to wait
for a shack intsead of a tent? Nothing to be jealous about ... now if they'd
just get off their rear ends and stop breaking the farmhouse they're building
for us we'd be as cozy as you in here."
"Humans ..." The Altmer frowns at the specks of blood One dripped on
her circle, muttering "Oh, bother ... are you just going to let this poor
soul stand here and bleed while you prattle on about nothing, or are you
actually going to heal him sometime this week? And what are you doing in here
anyway; don't you have things to do in your shack?"
"You guys still have the better alchemy lab and you know it," the
Imperial retorts. "And now that that mouldy old Orc isn't around to yell
at us for daring to ask nicely to use his castoffs ..."
"That's no way to talk of the dead," the Altmer sniffs. "Even if
it was an Orc. Now go; do your job."
"Glad to meet you; I'm Egalius Soccitus," the Imperial says to One,
helping the warrior to the healer's shack. "Let's take a proper look at
you under good lighting, shall we? Where'd you come from anyway; not many
people wait till the end of a guild hop to get themselves patched up ..."

In the baths, Shaka was sitting in an oak tub, scrubbing with a brush. The
water had been heated well by a wood fire. A tub of cold water stood waiting

That left Falco; Loranna heads to Falco's room, hearing voices from the
corridor as she gets close. " ... Awful lot of noise ..." she
mutters.
Dram looks at Thom appraisingly. "You're looking for work?" he asks,
stroking his chin. "You'll have to speak with the Lady for final approval,
but I believe we could use someone with wilderness skills. My guards are not
really trained for patrolling the wilderness as effectively as they do the
settled areas; we could use someone with expertese in that area."
