Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Loranna Jul 29 2005, 03:16 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

"Well, first off, I could give a brief lecture to some of
your off-duty guards. Just a few facts can help immensely. Tell them to seek me
out, if avalible. Thank you, serjo." THom bowed again and exited the
office and quickly made his way back to the castle.
Dram raises his eyebrow, wondering where Thom was off to now.
"The Lady attracts a special breed of person," he comments as he
calls over a couple guards for a quick conference.

"Errr well..." Falco hadn't counted on her finding out
about this. "Just one of us wounded heroes recovering from an unfortunate
battle injury. Err... servants thats enough you can leave now."
Loranna lets out a long sigh, shaking her head. "Sometmies Falco dear, I
wonder if you're not trying to be the jester. Please don't do that again, it
makes me feel like you don't appreciate my hospitality. Not to mention puts the
castle into a tizzy."
She comes over as she speaks, and checks Falco. "Your wounds have healed
without complications; you're fine," she says. "Thank you for helping
to rid us of those vampires last night, and for helping Isidor; that was noble
of you."

Dried off and in a robe, Shaka padded back up to the guest wing.
He looked thoughtfully at the celadon and copper-colored dwemer goblet on his
bureau for a moment. If he could cheer up Anya, even a little . . . .
Anya would find a box on her doorstep the next time she checked her guest room.

Loranna simply raises her eyebrows. "Try to save some of the hospitality
for later dear; it doesn't run out as fast," she says, chuckling just a
little.
"I'd like to talk to you about further security measures; when you're done
with lunch I'll be in my study," she says. "I'm gonna go check on
Isidor and Shaka now, make sure they're okay."
Leaving Falco - and instructing the servants that the loud Argonian is not to
be treated so lavishly from now on - Loranna looks for the others.

Thom entered the streets of Ald Raathim in relative peace. Thom
decided to sit awhile in town, and watch the normal city routine.

OOC Summmary thingy
The Dunmer male Reichi is lounging around the castle, and by now has likely
heard of last night's events through the servants.
----
Reichi finished his breakfast, and stood, grabbing the Shapeshifter's helm from
the table, placing it under his arm. The Dunmer walked through the halls of the
castle, looking for something to do. Maybe the library? Nah, Reichi shook his
head as the thought occured to him. He didn't particularly feel like reading
now, something pushed him action.
Seven Vampires. Such a odd and small number, he thought to himself, he
glanced at the sun as he exited the castle. Perhaps, i should secure the
area by seeing if any more are hiding out there somewhere. Vampires are always
cooped up somewhere in daylight. If they're all dead, i'll at least find their
former lair... he continued to muse about such things as he wandered
through town, towards the gates.

After leaving the dwemer goblet for Anya, Shaka returned to his
room. He could hear Falco and Loranna talking down the hallway and could guess
the conversation, though he couldn't make out the words from there.

Somewhere in Cyrodiil, Cyrodiil
It was an amazing sight to the farmers who usually tilled the Corovian
fields... a strange prosession. twelve men in loincloths pulling an open carrage,
two men in silks were feeding a beautiful woman grapes and other exotic food,
and two more men in loincloths carring a cage behind the carrage... it was not
only an amazing sight to the farmers, but ever since the prosession left the
city of Chorrol three days ago, it had gained nothing but strange looks from
all the passers by, all the farmers, all the travelers. What sort of woman was
this, they thought, and what sort of men would do this for her? But where were
they heading? were they heading to Anvil? from there, where? Selvia continued
to eat the grapes, as she remembered the nasty rumours that had been coming
from Daggerfall and the High Rock area, and it was tough finding a captian to
travel there... luckily, she knew someone in Anvil in the Imperial Navy, he
would lend them a ship...
Posted by: Rhedd Jul 29 2005, 04:55 AM
Aricyn stood on the rolling deck of the ship, his grey eyes
squinting against the sun as he peered across the blue water to the sparkling
island on the horizon.
By his side, an old, grizzled wolf sat, staring not at the island, but at
Aricyn.
"That's it, My Chief; Summerset Isle," the longship's captain said,
offering a spyglass which Aricyn refused. "But we aren't a registered
tradeship. They'll never let us dock, let alone allow you to disembark.
"That's unimportant, Captain," Aricyn responded, as the quickening
ocean breeze whipped his snow-white hair across his face. "Hold your
position here, and await my return."
Aricyn bent and gathered the old wolf in his long arms, turned his face to the
island, and opened his mouth. There was a sound like a shout, cut off midway,
and he was gone.
Unsurprised, the captain turned to his crew. "Drop anchor, lads, and keep
a close watch for Elven patrols!"
*
The winds of Summerset tasted different in his lungs. Timeless, and heavy. The
golden grass under his heavy boots gave way silently, as if it were only a
dream.
Again he wondered why he was here, what he was looking for. The old wolf at his
side was the only familiar thing in this land. The only thing that was real.
No, that smell... He remembered that smell. It belonged to a delicate, fluted
pink flower, those that grew thickly on the marble wall ahead. He picked one,
which, here, seemed like a crime, and spun it between his fingers. His fingers
had never touched such a flower, but he knew he had held one of these unwilting
blossoms many times.
Still holding the flower to his nose, he walked on. He was unsure of the way,
and the wood was misty and not at all familiar, but he knew what he would find
at the end.
Fourteen white stones rose from the glittering hill, encircling a burbling
fountain. Each stone marked the passing of an Elf from this life. Only fourteen
here. How long had they lived? How many years had it taken for fourteen
golden-skinned elves to find an untimely end?
He knew exactly which stone he sought. He knew exactly what was written upon
it, although he had never learned a single written word of the Elvish language.
Kneeling, he carefully laid the pink flower at the foot of the gleaming stone.
To his surprise, he found himself with tears in his eyes.
"Who are we," he said to the loyal old wolf at his side, "who
outlive worlds?"
"Whuff..." said the wolf, quietly.

Daggerfall
The High Elf, Elverere, sits in his chambers in the Biennie household and reads
a letter he just received:
Dearest husband,
I hope that the weather in Daggerfall this time of year is as pleasant as
Chorral; despite the continued hauntings that have been cropping up of late,
most everyone here is enjoying the unexpectedly cool weather for the mid
summer. Though, I admit, I miss the summers in Summerset Isle; the air here
lacks the feeling of comfort and stability I knew in my youth, and I often feel
a twinge of regret that our children have grown up without knowing the serenity
of our homeland ...
[...]
Your letter regarding Lord Landon's upcoming nuptials has brought much
happiness to the household; Anaril and Celria both retain fond memories of our savior
and send their well-wishes to him. I shall send a gift via courier for the
wedding; please express our sorrow in being unable to attend this happy
occasion ...
[...]
As always, my love, you are never far from my thoughts. I wait eagerly for the
day when you are free to return from your duties to see your children again.
Perhaps we can even make a trip back to the Isle ...
With love,
Erissa
Elverere reads the letter with a faint smile on his face, though there is a
faint furrow in his brow, and those who know him well would see a sorrowful
resignation in his eyes, though with a couple of blinks the expression is gone,
replaced by the usual look of calm competence that master mages often wear.
He picks up pen and paper and begins to write a letter back to his wife,
thinking of her smile and her eyes as he writes.

"When you live long enough, you know, the lives of other
mortals seem like a flickering lights of candles. One moment, and poof, they are
gone." Dastril spoke half to himself, half to the raven. "Elves
though live longer, but many won't make it 'til my age. Only few, like good ol'
Fyr, are strong enough. Don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse. I'd say
it's a curse. The longer you live, the weaker you get. And you start forgetting
things..." He sighed. "But now, go my friend. I must meditate. I'll
just hope no one will find me here... It would be sad if someone disturbed
me." He locked the door and the window after the raven had left, and sat
on the floor.

wing. He looked thoughtfully at the celadon and copper-colored dwemer
goblet on his bureau for a moment. If he could cheer up Anya, even a
little . . . .
Anya would find a box on her doorstep the next time she checked her guest room.
Blurry eyed and dishoveled from lack of sleep, Anya walked back to her room.
Looking down, she saw a small box looking as if someone had taken the time to
make it look nice and presentable. Picking it up and holding the books she had,
she entered her room.
Opening the box, she pulled out a lovely dwemer goblet. Her face cracked a
small smile as she admired it. I've seen several like this in my time, but
this is the prettiest by far. I wonder who could have sent it? Shaka, no doubt.
Probably the closet thing I've had for a true friend in a long while.
Setting it carefully on the sparse bookshelf, Anya picked up the two books she
had. "The Dragon and The Racer" had been a disappointment, only a
fictional story instead of anything about cliff racer and dragon connections to
help figure out Lotus. Instead she had grabbed a copy of armor care,
specifically for her Glass Curaiss, which she wasn't too sure about proper care
for. She understood Chitin perfectly and had serviced her own suit for many
years, but outside of that, her knowledge was limited to the basics.
The second was on archery, which had several training tips she wanted to try later.
She grabbed the armorer's book and set to work on her Glass armor. One thing
I've learned, you take care of your equipment, and it will most certianly take
care of you. Hoping that this would be neough to keep her occupied for the
day, as well most of the night, she went to work. Sleep only brings the
worst now and I don't know why.

Summary, Turdas, the late evening
Nalion, the male Breton mage, had busied himself with several tasks over the
last days, yet two of these occupied his mind the most.
One was the earthquake sigil. The other was a response to Allerleirauh's letter
which Loranna showed him the other day. The words and sentences that had formed
in his head lost most of their meaning and feeling once put down to paper being
then bound and restricted to it. Thus, a good amount of rumpled parchment had
found its way into the bucket on one side of the small table. Nalion looked up
and outside the window of his chamber.
On a whim, the Breton got up and walked over to his closet. Opening it, he
pulled a flask of wine and a goblet out and sat back into his chair. Taking a
sip from the wine, he savoured the taste of the vintage on his tongue for a
brief moment before swallowing.
"This is the wrong approach to answer her letter, Nalion.", he
thought to himself. "You try to press your words into forms even in your
thoughts and in this instance, it is not right to do so..."
The brown-haired mage took another swallow from the goblet, then picked another
piece of parchment. Clearing his mind from any thoughts other than the memory
of Allerleirauh's words, he began to write anew.
Posted by: Sir Radont Jul 29 2005, 10:07 AM
Radont walked through the halls admiring the craftsmanship. He
passed many people he didn't know; Khajiits, Elves, and humans alike. He gave
them all a cursory nod of the head and a smile and continued on.

this place?".
The innkeeper sighs. "Used to be the Headless Orc, right up until that big

"Glad to see you have recovered. The stories I heard sounded rather
unpleasant."
Turning to Loranna, the mage continued. "I have something for you. A reply
to Allerleirauh's letter. If you would be so kind as to send it with you when
you yourself reply?"
He handed her a neatly folded piece of parchment, however, it was unsealed.
"If you wish, you can read it. It contains no secrets."

The ocean glistend as the waves crashed onto the shore. The sun
shone brightly above and the clouds rolled lazily on.
A Ship sailed into Ald Raathim's harbor, its mast bellewing in the strong sea
winds. It docked, and its passenger spilled out, motly the crew, but a few
outlanders.
Ahjaar awoke. She had no idea where she was, or how she got here. She had no
memory of her past whatsoever. Starange. She sat up, dazzled, and locked around
her.
Their was lots of crates and boxes, and the room smelled of salt. She asumed
she was on a ship. But why was she on a ship? And where was this ship?
She was http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/little_pixy/b2084662.jpg in garb
she knew was hers, she just couldn't remember it. What the heck was happening?
Why couldn't she remember anything?
At her side was a bow made of guar bone and a staff with steel endings.

The letter to Allerleirauh would yield the following words,
written in an intricate, yet tiny script.
********
Allerleirauh,
whenever I wake - from dream or from reality? - and the drum breaks, I can hear
the hornets again beginning to haunt me, reminding myself that my sleep is
over.
I do not speak with the voice of my burden nor with the voice of my charges,
but with a tongue more true and at the same time more false - the voice of my
heart. True, for the words come from within my very being and false for I
myself am so uncertain of them.
Whenever I wake, I see the stunning beauty of this world, and the horrific
terror of what we had and will have to suffer through. Terror and beauty,
beauty and terror. If one of them would be lacking, would we at all know which
one we experience? Would we know that white is white if we did not know what
blackness is?
Do not come the highs and the lows hand in hand like two sides of a coin,
different to the extreme yet both equally necessary? Do we forsake all the
beauty of a dress because of one black spot of dirt on its shining white skirt?
Do we not try to find clean and fresh water to restore its brightness?
You speak of the true hero and that he must be of love and compassion. You
speak of worthiness to be proven in order to be saved.
Is not the world like a child to its mother, defying her time and again to test
its borders and yet the mother turns it not away but embraces it again, not
after well meant words whose fruits are often reaped only much later? And is it
not the child that has learned this kind of love and compassion that can grow to
an adult itself and do likewise to its own children?
Is it not so that we, walking in this world, do shape it by merely being
present with each step we take? Does not every new child that is born into the
world begin to shape it for itself and add it's own views to the
experiment? And is not the joining of both, old and new, though at times
clashing into each other with the force of mythic powers, creating possibility?
So let again the seasoned heroes and the young seekers come together, so that
we can save this world that - and I do have no doubt in this - we hold dear in
our hearts. Let us again set out together and mend what is riven as we did so
many times already, whether it was a small thing like reuniting a family or
mythic events like last Hogithum.
Heroes are not born, but made.
I failed to see it for a long time, but looking back, to when I first met you,
Allerleirauh, on a day of white snow and red blood, this sentence is of pure
truth. In whatever world you and Solin are now, know that my fond thoughts are
with you, but please do not forget that here, in Tamriel, there are those who
love you - and need you.
While re-reading this, much sounds gibberish as if written in late hour with
more wine than would be called good, yet still, the words flow freely from
quill to paper. I wonder if I should call myself a fool when I read this again
when my mind is clear and reasonable and full of logic again. I do not want to
be logical and reasonable right now.

that she had taken the words to her heart, knew them as she knew her darling

She said, '... tell my little love I miss him, tell him I am coming, coming

to set the world to rights and mend the crack that allows the spirits to enter.
My last task here was to recover Solin, lest by risking so much of himself to

Khajiit's hands. The calluses and somewhat enlarged knuckles looked like
someone who was used to wielding a bow, maybe other weapons as well, and might
have had some unarmed combat training.

with ash colored skin." Reichi grinned, the grin, combined with his
wolf-like crimson eyes, gave him a undeniably wolfish countenance.
"If she's a nord, why does she have ash skin?" Ahjaar ask. She was
curious be nature, as all cats are. Ahjaar saw the elf' face, and she became
tense. Somthing was right about him. She took a step back.

"A Khajiit who seems to have lost her memory Shaka," Reichi replied,
looking over at the Argonian. Turning his attention back to Ahjaar. "Its a
long story, lets just say she pissed off Azura and she cursed her like
that," Reichi explained. Which was pretty much true, but entirely out of

"Take it easy," said Shaka to the woman. It looked as if she might

explaining how a dunmer werewolf could have his lycanthropy under control.
"We serve the Lady of Daruhn -- you mean you can't remember anything,

Shaka decided to stick around the Healers house for a while longer. Egalius
would probably end up plying the captain with mazte or sujamma to loosen his
tongue; maybe Shaka would try dropping by the Drunken Guar after a while to see
how the healer was faring . . . .
Were you a slavecatcher, helping to track your own people? wondered the
Argonian. Or mine for that matter. The thought repelled him, but Shaka
understood that the drive to live could be an overwhelming one. He hoped that
he was reading too much into Ahjaar, though.

"Best tavern in town - not that there's much competition for that position
yet," Egaliius says chattily as he claps a hand on the Captain's
shoulders. "So tell me; I've always wondered what it's like to be a

waters of the sea, that sort of thing? Bet you fight smugglars and pirates a

"Hey, don't mention is .. it ..." Egalius says, laughing. He waits
till the Captain had walked out, then quietly pulls out a potion of sobriety,
downing it and wincing. "Ouch; like getting the hangover all at once
instead of over the next morning ..."
Dragon Lady, huh? Probably just some story to cover the Captain's liking of
young Khajiit girls, or else Anjuur was playing with Illusion magic on her own
little island. In any case, the ebony story was hogwash, far as he was
conerned.

Shaka was noncommittal, though a shapeshifting dragon was about the weirdest
thing he'd heard, even with all that had happened to Loranna's people. Ahjaar
didn't seem like the mage type anyway, so far; more like a natural for the
Fighter's Guild, once Ald Raathim got big enough to have one.
"Thanks, healer. You keep patching them up and we'll keep sending them

Kallen was told there was a visitor, but was told nothing more. To his surprise
when he entered the Great Hall, there stood a man in the heavy red armor that
marked him as a member of the Royal Guard of Morrowind.
“Greetings, sera,” said Kallen, bowing. “I am Kallen, seneschal to Sera Dres
Loranna.”
The guard nodded, and returned the bow. He handed Kallen a single slip of
paper, folded, and bound by the seal of the King of Morrowind. “For her
ladyship.”
“Should I call for her?” asked Kallen, his face stony, unflappable.
“That won’t be necessary. Just be sure she reads it.”
The guard refused food or drink, and was desirous to return to Mournhold
immediately, so Kallen escorted him to the docks, and then with surprising lack
of calm, the young Dunmer ran back to the castle to find his lady.

Ahjaar woke up sweating. The dream she had was slowly slipping away, but he
could remeber some parts of it. That was the second dream she's had since she
woke up on the boat, and both and been horrible. Mabye Loranna would know what
it means. But first, she would get breakfast.
Posted by: Loranna Jul 30 2005, 02:48 AM
It was a very simple note; it was emblazoned by all the symbols
of the Houses and the Empire of Tamriel, but its message was simple and direct
The Queen Mother, Barenziah, wished to make Loranna's acquaintance; she would
arrive in Ald Raathim in a short time, to meet the new member of House Dres.
Loranna muttered "And I was worried when it was time to meet Dres Minsero
..." before she and Kallen went into a whirlwind of telling the servants
and getting things prepared. The castle would need to be cleaned, a feast
prepared fit for one of the most famous Queens in all of Tamriel, the guest
rooms made ready, the town alerted ...
What time Loranna had left that night was taken up in preperations, both for
the castle and for meeting someone who had known Tiber Septim himself. The
evening fell with the castle still all a buzz over the news.
===
In the dark of the late evening, while the castle still reeled from the news,
two figures made their way to the docks, taking exceptional care in avoiding
notice. Clad in tight shirt and pants of dark hue, daggers clasped to their
belts, they quietly slipped into the water and swam with swift, powerful,
silent strokes, swimming toward the beach and the mangroves.
They said no words to one another; they both knew what was to be done. Both men
moved with the grace of slaughterfish arrowing through the dark waters,
breathing easily under the waves. They made their way to the waters near the
beach, but instead of swimming ashore, they sought the deeper part of the
waters, pulling out rings from their belts and slipping them on as they sought
shelter in the shipwrecks in the bay. Their forms became slightly translucent,
blending in more readily with their surroundings.
It had taken time, but they had learned the habits of their quarry; she went
out every morning for a swim, staying underwater by the power of her magic. She
swam unfettered by robe or armor, not wishing to be encumbered in her morning
excersice; in other words, she would be without her potions, her weapons, her
enchanted robes. She would be as skyclad as a baby ... and as helpless. It was
the perfect time to catch her unawares, and they were prepared for her; all
they had to do now ... was wait.
Bedaves Fevula and Tedril Relas were both exceptionally good at waiting, even
if it meant waiting at the bottom of the bay for the morning to come. The best
assassins were the patient ones.
Posted by: Loranna Jul 30 2005, 02:51 AM
Morning came, and a lone figure made her way to the beach,
doffing her robe and slipping into the the water; Loranna swam with grace and
ease, and with the nervous energy from last night's revelation still bubbling
in her veins. She swam to the bottom of the bay, smiling and enjoynig herself
as she swam. She never noticed two blurred figures peel off from the shipwrecks
as she swam out to the mangrove trees ...
Her mind still on the Queen Mother's note, Loranna didn't notice the wake of
Bedaves and Tedril until a few seconds before a searing pain erupted in her
thigh, an adamantium blade biting deeply into her flesh - and as the blade
struck home a terrible, unearthly roar threatened to shatter her eardrums,
making her cry out and grasp her head in pain. Another burst of pain, this time
in her back, and with horror Loranna realized her potions weren't working -
they had been dispelled, and now she was bleeding badly, and her magic was
mostly gone, and far, far worse, she was no longer breathing water, she was
drowning in it.
Two figures, smirking Dunmer, grappled her, holding her down, raising
bloodstained blades to stab again; they moved with inhuman grace in the water,
while she had to fight against the water's resistance as she struggled. She
felt her flesh suffer more cuts as she flailed about, desperation sinking in;
her lungs were filling with water and her ears were still splitting with the
roaring that accompanied every slash or stab and iron-like hands were holding
her, dragging her down, down ...
===
The Nord woman was a fighter, that was for sure, Bedaves thought as he fought
to keep his grip on the drowning Loranna. She kept twisting, and even with the
water fighting against her more than he or his companion it was hard to land
the killing blow, but it was just a matter of time. They could breath, she
could not, she was wounded and Tedril was holding her wrist and doing a fine
job of preventing any spells from being cast, assuming she could even think to
cast with the inhuman cry rending her ears. They had come well-prepared,
indeed; they just needed to be patient.
Then, he saw Tedril catch Loranna in the shoulder with his blade - and Tedril's
face evinced surprise and he clasped his hands to his ears, gurgling, his eyes
filled with panic. What? How had this ...
The Nord woman grabbed Tedril and pulled him close, twisting to put Tedril
between herself and Bedaves; Bedaves felt her foot slam into his stomach in an
unguarded second and he snarled as he fought to get around his companion, who
was going limp in Loranna's arms. What spell was she using? She should have been
too distracted to cast anything; the daggers were designed to dispel magic and
keep one from using more ...
Bedaves saw Loranna release Tedril from her kiss, and pull the dagger from his
limp, paralyized hands. Lover's Kiss; of course, the woman was born under the
sign of the Lover! But what had caused Tedril to ...
Bedaves saw Loranna's wounds healing, despite no motions of spellcasting, and
he understood; enchanted items. She was wearing jewerly still; she must have
had something on with Dispel, and it kicked in, canceling Tedril's water
breathing - and then while he was reactivating it, she took advantage of the
opening. Damn this woman; healing or not, she was still drowning, he could see;
her face was a mask of agony, her tearstreaks glinting in the dull light. He'd
finish her, once and for all.
Snarling again, Bedaves lunged forward as Loranna met his advance, blade in
hand; Tedril drifted off helplessly, breathing again but still victim to
Loranna's kiss. Assassin and noblewoman struggled, their movements churning the
water; were slaughterfish present in the bay they'd have long since been
attracted to the scene by Loranna's blood.
Bedaves felt a sting in his shoulder, and heard the inhuman roar in his ears;
he had the presence of mind to hold his breath while he re-invoked his water
breathing enchantment, but the damn woman wasn't letting up; she was stabbing
again and he brought his arm up to try and block her, but it didn't quite work
...
Another stab, another roar, and a numbness, and Bedaves saw his blood billowing
out from his chest, mixing with the water as his ruptured heart continued to
beat his life away. The last thing he saw as his vision faded and he drfited
away was Tedril swimming up behind the pain-lanced Loranna, grabbing her with a
wrathful expresison on his face ...

Slyvos' eyes widened; what the hell had happened to those two?
and who was the other one anyway?
'damnit lor, and I'm usually the one in trouble too...'
He ran over to Loranna and the assassin, looking both worried, and
frightened... and would soon be pretty angry too. He rubbed his hands together
a bit, feeling for a pulse; thankfully, there was one. Then doing what it took
to revive her, he sighed in relief as she coughed and sputtered.
'What happened?'

Shaka had managed to avoid a hangover again, but he was eating a
leisurely breakfast. The kitchen staff were talking of nothing other than that
a living legend would be visiting Dres Loranna. Shaka stayed out of their way
as they frantically cleaned and took inventory.

Loranna's sputtering soon becomes a violent evacuation of the water that had
gotten into her lungs, and she grasps Slyvos with clawlike hands, her eyes wide
as she hacks and gasps.
"Goddess goddess goddesss ..." she breathes when she can finally
talk, memories of fighting underwater with her lungs on fire and her body being
torn and the inhuman roaring in her ears, almost drowning out the pounding
blood ...
"Assassin ..." she croaks, leaning on Slyvos and shivering, coughing.
The Dunmer continues to lie still; an adamantium dagger in his back shows he
won't be moving again.

Isidor sees the Khajiit bend over, and he quickens his pace. He hears the
khajiit say something, then Loranna rasp something. "What happened?"
he says, in an alarmed voice.

Slyvos looked to the assassin, narrowing his eyes. That one was
lucky it was dead, or a fate WORSE then death would have awaited him. As for
Loranna, luckily Slyvos always had a few spare healing potions (loranna made)
on hand.
'here, drink this.'

At the court yard she asks for Shaka.

" ... They were waiting for me ... underwater ..." she says,
uncomprehending. "They cut me and my potions were dispelled ..."
The hand bearing Slyvos's ring grips Slyvos's shoulder just a little more
tightly. Loranna becomes aware of Isidor and looks over at him, her expression
much more girllike than usual.
"Help me back to the castle, please ..." she asks, struggling to her

magicka which will keep it all together.’
Razbiah frowned, though she shouldn’t be angry with Thianas. Everyone else,
yes, but not him. Perhaps she had a little crush on her old lord and master,
Jazbet, but that was not real. This was. If only she had the words.
The only one that came to mind, as she returned to the simple, wholesome,
healthy food she was preparing was, ‘One can’t make a cake with twenty-eight layers,
each one wider than the last. It will fall over.’
‘Watch me,’ the Dunmer pastry chef said with a wink.

QUOTE(Nalion @ Jul 29 2005, 10:17 PM)
"There is a possibility to decipher the meaning of the
letters on the sigil, though. A meaning which may give us further clues, or may
not. We could ask the beings who know. Daedra. I am, however, not comfortable
with this, as it would require to summon more than just a Dremora or a Golden
Saint..."
"Meaning...?" Ahjaar couldn't help but speak out. She had decided to
keep a low profile, but that didn't last long "I thought there was no demon
higher then A Golden Saint or Dremora..."

setting his sights higher, as in the higher daedra . . ."

Ahjaar Retreated a few steps as she blushed.
She was so STUPID. Why did she say demon?

Loranna gives Anjaar a brief smile, but nods to Nalion, saying quietly
"We'll talk later, dears; now we listen."

"There are higher demons, even Daedra have ranks and the highest among
them are the Daedric Princes.", Nalion explained. "Yet these are not
who I propose to summon. I have seen to what this leads."
Nalion paused, then introduced himself. "For those who do not know me, I
am called Nalion. Now that this is settled, let us continue."

"You mean to summon someone on the level of Duke
Drevious," Loranna says, frowning. Her tone makes it clear that she
is not thrilled with the idea.
"Yes, that is about right, Loranna. I hope though, that Duke Drevious is
not the one to answer us.", Nalion replied, then continued with his
explanations. "Summoning something that I, for conveniences sake, call a
daedric duke for now requires preparations, though, and for that, I need the
help of you all."
"We will need some things first, though. Void and Fire Salts most of all,
to draw a summoning circle. Unfortunately, I have no stores of them. I fear we
have to find them somewhere. So, anyone who is willing to help is welcome to do
so."

"They should be as fresh as possible, my friend. Well, and the Mages Guild
has a sufficient summoning room. I have looked at it some time ago. Uhm, we
probably have to rent it, though..."
"I trust you that you all are able to contribute to it. I will go to the

Slyvos coughs a little, his tail tip flicking back and forth. "I, uh, have
experience with these sorts of circles," he says, giving Nalion a quick,
slightly embarrassed grin. "If it'll help finding whoever just tried to
kill Loranna count me in."
"I've some salts in my lab for various potions, void salts
especially," Loranna says. "Most of them are a little less than fresh
though - not a problem for potions but for this ..." She sighs. "I'll
look; you can tell me if they're good enough."

" ... We might want to re-check the Mage Guild's summoning room again,
just to make sure it's suitable," he mutters. "I can offer you some
pointers while we do that ..."
Been a while since I've summoned anything this big myself, Slyvos thinks
soberly.
"Tell you what; after we check the summoning room we'll work on summoning
some Fire Atronachs and Twilights, give you some practice while I get back into
the swing of things," he says, his tail flicking back and forth once
again. His worries about Nalion's skills aside, it felt good to be able to do
something about the situation.
