Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna:
Loranna is in a cave outside of Ald Raathim, a Daedric lair, to face down the
Daedra Imago Storm and stop his threat to her lands.

Nalion, a Breton mage is with the group seeking to banish Imago
Storm back into Oblivion. For this, a vengeful daedroth named Faydra Shardai,
has provided them with both, the protonymic and neonymic incantory names of
Imago. After the party had attained and prepared the weapon - the Daedric
Crescent Blade - to finally strike Imago, the party is now ready to face the
enemy.

Another Daedric edifice - well, a cave, but a Daedric cave.
Loranna begins to wonder if she's not spending a bit too much time in such
places as she walks down the hall, eyes and ears alert.

The hall opened up to a grand shrine, light and smoke drifting
off large stone ornaments hanging from the ceiling. Between two enormous cairns
was a large stone throne, all carved in the Daedric fashion. Before the throne
stood a figure, tall with a face that was eerily human, and devilishly
handsome. He wore what appeared to be a dremora’s armor, and two small horns
protruded out the front of his skull.
“Greetings, mortals,” Imago Storm said in a voice that was somehow noble and at
the same time like a rain of daggers, “Have you sought me out by your own
wisdom, or has another led you to this place? Whatever has brought you to this
place, know that here you will find your end.”

"No banter."
Grabbing her bow, lining her eye along the shaft, she sighted Imago Storm. For
some reason, words couldn't describe the power she felt from him, certianly
nothing she had felt in her travels.
Releasing the shaft, using the arrow to distract him, maybe to amuse herself,
she uttered one word loudly, "Hewrohcheh!"

The Daedric Duke froze, dropping the broken arrow in surpise when he heard his

Imago asked, eyeing Shaka with what could be either curiosity or menace, or was
perhaps both simultaneously, “I rein over the powers of evolutionary
destruction, all things of mortals come and go, and it is time for Ald Raathim
to meet its end.”
Imago Storm gave Faydra a look that could cause flesh to combust.

Shaka raised the daedric blade and saw the frozen look in the eye of the

diagonally into the dremora from shoulder to hip. The crescent blade hummed in

Imago Storm’s eyes went wide with a mix of confusion and – was it even
possible? – fright, as the specially prepared Daedric Crescent Blade cut into
the substance of his physical manifestation. It was not the physical damage
that mattered, though; it was the power behind his true name, spoken moments
before, combined with the powers of the blade that sent him with all haste
towards the voids of Oblivion.
An inoculating light appeared around Imago Storm’s body, and the Daedra looked
at Faydra with contempt. In his last moment on Nirn, he chanted Faydra’s own
Incantory name, and then vanished from existence, his last words still
lingering in the air.

If time had seemed to slow down before, Shaka now knew that that had been a

who was beginning a gesture of power that would mercifully for Shaka come too

He almost felt regret as he swung the daedric crescent blade through the

The Spear of Bitter Mercy, it's powers underestimated by most, was, like
Malacath's Scourge, one of the few artifacts on Tamriel that could truly hurt
daedra. In combination with the true incantory names of a particular daedroth,
it could be used to banish daedra back into Oblivion.
Just as the incantation of Faydra's neonymic began to drain her lifeforce from
the mortal plane to Oblivion, Shaka's thrust pierced Faydra and completed the
sequence.
With a horrible inhuman scream, Faydra vanished in a blue implosion.

A curious new book is added to the library at Ald Raathim.
On Ald Raathim: The Abolitionist Movement in House Dres, and the Dawn
Sanctuary
By Chu-Dezai
For the last months I have spent considerable time in the Great House Dres city
of Ald Raathim, widely known to be the first city in Great House Dres to not
prosper on the backs of slaves, and as being a haven for those Vvardenfell
locals fleeing from disaster on the island. During my time here I have
conversed with several locals concerning the history of the Abolitionist
movement, as well as the functioning of the city during the Dawn exodus.
Ald Raathim was not always opposed to slavery; in fact, it has been ruled by
several harsh Dunmer nobles with the traditionalist Dunmer mindset to unpaid
servitude. The last to own slaves, a Dunmer by the name of Rathmet, is rumored
to have been particularly harsh, though as far as this Argonian knows no
evidence exists to validate such a claim. Whether or not this claim is true, I
would like to think that Rathmet was in fact quite vile a master, as it makes
the rise of abolitionism in Ald Raathim all the more appealing.
For all his prejudices against the Khajiit, Rathmet was not as devout in his
disposition towards the beast races as would appear, for rumors abound that he
was involved in a secret liaison with one of his Khajiiti slaves. These rumors
seem to be validated by the fact that upon his death, possibly involving fowl
play, Ald Raathim was inherited by a Khajiit known as Jazbet.
Being a Khajiit himself, and knowledgeable of the plight of the downtrodden and
unpaid “beast races,” Jazbet promptly ended slavery in and around Ald Raathim.
The significance of this cannot be overstated; Jazbet’s accomplishments were
simply monumental, deep in the territory of Great House Dres, well known as
being the most racist of all Dunmer Great Houses, he stood by his actions
against the great weight of the modern and historical prejudices and traditions
of other house members.
His accomplishments might be attributed to his charming personality and adept
communication skills. It is hinted that his lovers were many, as is the typical
Khajiiti style, and that he perhaps fathered offspring prior to his becoming a
council member of Great House Dres and ruler of Ald Raathim, though the fate of
whatever offspring he may have had is unknown.
It is perhaps his virulent social skills that culminated in his connection to
events on the Island Vvardenfell and therewith the conversion of Ald Raathim to
a haven for those fleeing the trials witnessed in that district. The events of
the so called “Blue Dawn” are not of much interest to me, personally, being a
People of the Root my interest is more tuned to the mistreatment of the beast
races, however, the close association with the events surrounding this “Blue
Dawn” and the abolitionist movement in Great House Dres necessitates my writing
on that subject.
What exactly motivated Jazbet to traveling to Vvardenfell province is not known
by this Argonian, but it was most likely due to the staunch anti-slavery stance
of one Loranna, ironically a Dunmer woman (although it is supposed she has
close Nordic relatives), and definitely not, was some would claim, any
associations with her to the Daedric Prince Azura (for though the Queen of Dusk
and Dawn is much venerated by typical Khajiiti, Jazbet is most certainly more
civilized than the savage Dunmer of House Dres who revere those demons).
There is a story of a young Khajiit pleading to Loranna to free the slaves. At
this time Loranna had developed a significant following among the populace on
Vvardenfell, which consisted mostly of typically racist Dunmer, and any
sympathies to the “beast races” were sure to be a great risk to her interests.
Even so, Loranna gave ear to the young Khajiit’s pleas, and ordered that the
slaves be freed.
It is the well researched opinion of this author that Loranna’s decision was in
fact inspired by Jazbet himself, who, in his great wisdom, saw the potential of
Loranna’s influence and in private conversations enlightened her to the already
growing abolitionist movement. Loranna was so amazed by Jazbet’s wisdom, persuasion,
and leadership skills that she offered herself as his lover.
The great turning point of the abolitionist movement was not when Loranna
agreed to free the slaves, but rather later, in Vivec City, when Loranna was
brought to trial for her anti-slavery agenda. At the trial a skirmish broke out
between those sympathetic to slavery and those opposed, which steadily
increased in ferocity to become an outright war raging across the Vvardenfell
District.
Many of those opposed to slavery from the island migrated across the Inner Sea
to the mainland, seeking refuge in Ald Raathim, where Jazbet, with aid from
Loranna, was ruling a genuine utopia. A number of battles were fought on
Vvardenfell, but the fighting was abruptly ended when Red Mountain inexplicably
and unexpectedly erupted – perhaps a sign of the change of the times, from
slavery to freedom.
The great migration of anti-slavery supporters to Ald Raathim greatly
strengthened the abolitionist movement in the city. This support network,
combined with years long efforts of Jazbet’s to end slavery wherever it could
be found, has led to many other members of Great House Dres to consider freeing
their slaves also.
Note from the Imperial Publishers Guild: Seeing that this is one of the
first written accounts of the events of Vvardenfell during what is termed the
Blue Dawn it is certainly an invaluable resource. However, it should be noted
that the author is not known to have even set foot in Morrowind until well
after the fact, and there is no evidence that Chu-Dezai ever sought an audience
with Jazbet, Loranna, or any other person known to be related to events on
Vvardenfell during this time. It is most likely that a great number of the
facts presented in this work are either misconstrued accounts of actual events,
or pure conjecture.

Shaka was fighting off two sword-wielding assassins with the Spear, before
calling up a storm atronach behind the pair. "No prisoners," said
Shaka, as much to himself as to the atronach. The golem crushed one of the

Shaka struck the second assassin to his knees with the haft of the Spear before
breaking the enemy's neck. All around Shaka, he could hear the rest of

Even as he fought, Shaka glanced once at the revived Loranna with something
like fear. How could she recover so quickly . . . .And yet much of her beauty
was still horribly charred, even as she stole it back from the enemy.

Nalion's help Loranna's potions are kicking back in ...
If it hadn't been for her armor's absorbing part of the destructive magicka
though ...
Loranna struggles to her feet, an assassin charging her with a poison-dripping
blade held high in his hand. Loranna, still badly burnt, mutters thickly
" ... Give me your life ..." and twists just enough to let the blade
skid off her pauldron, gripping the assassin tightly and kissing him for a long
moment.
When she lets him go, he slumps lifelessly to the ground, and Loranna sighs,
looking better. She turns to deal with other assassins.
Nalion, relieved that his friend would recover, turned towards and approaching
assassin. Raising both of his hands, he incanted a spell and immediately
afterwards, lightning flew forth from his hands.
The assassin was hit in the chest and began to shake uncontrollably, with
flashes coursing over his body.

An assassin charged Anya from behind. Too noisy. thought
Anya, dissappointed in their charge.
Blocking the charge with her spear, both of the bowled over, and used the
momentum to kick the assassin agains the wall where she tossed her spear and
impaled them.
Grabbing her spear, she watched another come after her, as Shaka took on a few
of his own, and Loranna used them to heal herself.

QUOTE(syronj @ Jul 31 2005, 12:01 AM)
Shaka was fighting off two sword-wielding assassins with the
Spear, before calling up a storm atronach behind the pair. "No
prisoners," said Shaka, as much to himself as to the atronach. The
golem crushed one of the assassin's heads like a grape . . . .
Shaka struck the second assassin to his knees with the haft of the Spear before
breaking the enemy's neck. All around Shaka, he could hear the rest of
Loranna's companions in pitched struggle.
Even as he fought, Shaka glanced once at the revived Loranna with something
like fear. How could she recover so quickly . . . .And yet much of her
beauty was still horribly charred, even as she stole it back from the enemy.
Shaka was not the only one to cast fearful glances at Loranna; the assassins
were becoming increasingly more desperate with every moment she was on her
feet, her burnt skin restoring to healthy ashen skin.
A second assassin threw himself at her, managing to bowl her over; assassin and
noblewoman rolled around on the ground for a moment, and then Loranna got back
up, looking even more restored than before, drawing her sword and stepping over
her unmoving assailant.
Caress blocked a third assassin's blade and cut into his arm, causing his knees
to buckle from the sudden weakness; Loranna knocked the assassin's blade from
his hands and pressed her hand down on his shoulder, forcing him down as she
struck again with her blade.
Looking up, she surveys the battle.

The lightning streaks ceased on the body of the assassin Nalion
had targeted and the writhing stopped. Looking over the battlefield, the mage
could see that all his companions were well occupied with fighting the enemies.
A movement in the corner of his eyes made him turn to the right. An assassin,
obviously recognizing the hopelessness of the situation, tried to sneak past
the combat zone and towards the exit of the cave.
With an intricate gesture and a whispered word, a paralysis spell, followed by
a hail of ice darts first immobilized, then pierced the assassin. Another wave
of iceshards finished the job and only after the paralysis spell released the
mer's muscles, he sagged to the floor.

Ahjaar shoot an arrow at a charging assassin, but missed. He
lunged, and Ahjaar jumped out of the way, but she was still foggy from just
waking up, and the assastion plunged a dagger into her arm.
Ahjaar shreiked, and fell backwards. The assassin came down with her.

Eyeing the second assassin charging her, Anya readied her spear
for a throw, conceling the Dagger of Judgement given to her by Loranna when
they first met.
Tossing the spear when he was close, the assassin dogded it with ease, but
failed to see the dagger that plunged into his neck. Yanking it free, Anya
picked up her spear, and watched as most of the assassins were quickly
dispatched.

OOC Summary:
Teh Dunmer Reichi has been ...you'll see. bwhaha.
-------------------
One of the assassins, armed with a bow, and a powerful arrow had been too absorbed
to taking great aim with his shot, knowing the power of the arrow not to be
wasted. He didn't notice the great white shape sneak up behind him. With a
scream of pain he dropped his bow, as a clawed hand suddenly materialized in
his chest. The assassin looked down horrified at the blood soaked claw, seeing
his heart slowly stilling in between the bloodsoaked fingers.
Reichi drew his hand out of the dead assassin, the corpse hitting the ground
with a meaty thump, dispite having controll, he couldn't deny that somewhere,
there was a bestial boodlust feed by actions like that. The great white
Werewolf moved into plain view, a feral grin plastered on his lupine features.
Reichi's grin would have widened if it could when he felt the palpable fear of
the Assassins.

Between white-furred werewolves, spear-wileding Bosmer and
Argonians, Bow-shooting Khajiit, and an angry (and by now more or less healed)
Nord, not to mention a Breton mage, what remaining assassins were left in the
cave were dealt with. The fight ended with a an almost violent suddenness, the
cries of battle still echoing in the cave.
Loranna looks around at her companions, sheathing her sword and saying "
... Who needs healing - besides me ..."

Tel Dresori, Morrowind
Dres Minsero addressed his army. They were to be given full commissions for
service, even more generous that than had anticipated. The time had come, he
said, to reduce the army down to a personal guard, merely enough for defense.
It was a good thing, he emphasized. Proof of peace.
Barenziah, dowager queen and now regent of Morrowind, did not stand with him,
but listened. She smiled, as he left his army and came to her. He thought, as
he saw her, sitting alone and guardless on a little bench in his garden, that
she was still beautiful. Her hair had turned silver in recent years, and her
face was a tissue of lines, but still she had wise but flirtatious eyes and …
that smile …
He was still angry, but they spoke as friends. They never spoke of blackmail.
"How far is it to Ald Raathim?" she asked, though he knew she knew.
"A few days," he replied. "You intend to visit Dres Loranna?"
"Yes. Do you have an opinion of her?"
"Oh, yes," Dres Minsero nodded. "But I would not want you to
prejudge her."
Barenziah laughed, and made her way to her boat.
Minsero began his letter to Loranna. If he used his fastest courier to
transport it, it might get there before Barenziah. He hoped so.

"It's good to see you well, Dres Loranna," he said simply.
As he slung the sheath, he thought back to what Ald Raathim's smith,

In the tavern in Ald Raathim, a room...
An altmer sat on the floor. He's eyes were closed, and he breathed, but
apparently he had been there for days, if not weeks. The spiders had already

Isidor's strolls took him all across Ald Raathiam, even to the edge of the
forest, near Thom's camp. As he walked by, he saw a green dagger sticking out
of a tree. He walked over, and read Thom's note. Isidor frowned, then pocketed

In the early afternoon, Shaka walked through the shallows near
Ald Raathim's mangroves. Crabs of all sizes scuttled amid the roots of the trees,
and Shaka bent down occasionally to pick up an interesting shell or piece of
driftwood. The air was thick with life, the more so to one of the People of the
Root.
Shaka walked, half-listening to the creatures splashing through the mud at the
base of the mangroves or flapping through the trees. Barenziah, coming to a
small district like this . . . . What could it mean for Loranna and her people?
Shaka couldn't really picture why the Queen Mother would choose to travel now,
her son Helseth allegedly poisoned, though there was no confirmation of that
rumor.
Could Jazbet's and Loranna's abolitionist experiment have caught Barenziah's
ear? Or was Shaka thinking too small by focusing on the beast races. A phrase
from his Imperial Cult days came back to Shaka: This is above my pay grade.
But then it occurred to him: Don't worry about thinking outside of the lines
they've always drawn for you. There are no damn lines.
He watched the bay and harbor for a moment from the shadow of the mangroves. It
was another working day for many, some fishing -- and he had heard that the
sunken fleet was starting to act as a sanctuary for marine life; and some even
out in small boats for pleasure.
Shaka walked through the boundary between the life of the waters and the land.
Did Loranna and all Daruhn stand on a boundary without fully realizing it?

"Nice cloak, Isidor," Shaka said. "But I think it will go
better with formal audiences at the castle. Maybe when . . ." But
Shaka knew better than to discuss Barenziah in a public house.
"Could be leather or oiled cloth would be more practical for the
field. Up to you, I'll shut up about it."
He clinked mugs with his friends. "Anybody seen the ranger?
The guards tell me Thom has been cutting a real swathe through the vamps
lately."
"Well, I thought the armor was a bit much. Have you seen the Lady around?
I wanted to talk to her about something. But while you're here, I should give
you this." he took out the green dagger and handed it to Shaka "Thom
wanted you to have this.".

Loranna sleeps through most of the morning, and wakes slowly,
blinking away tiredness from her eyes. She felt better at least she notes,
which was good, though she doesn't quite feel up for her usual morning swim.
Freshening up, Loranna checks in on the preperations for the Queen Mother's
arrival, recieving a letter bearing Lord Minsero's seal:
Dres Loranna,
As you read this, the Dowager Queen Barenziah is making her way from my domain
to yours; she should be fast on the heels of this letter.
As one who respects you, I offer this advice; do not try to decieve Barenziah.
She has eyes and ears everywhere, and she has centuries of wisdom and
experience to draw upon. She will know if you are trying to decieve her.
May your meeting with the esteemed Queen be pelasant and fruitful, and your
lands prosperous in the autunm harvest,
Dres Minsero
Loranna feels butterflies in her stomach, but she perserveres regardless; this
meeting would be interesting to say the least.

Shaka took the Glass dagger and turned it over in the light filtering in from
the mica windows. Whoever had crafted this one had been a true artisan. This
particular knife was more jade colored than the emerald of raw Glass, and
curved inward on the cutting edge, though not as dramatically as a crescent. It
was almost the size of a short sword, and probably could be used for clearing
brush to some extent, aside from its intended purpose.
"Damn . . . So Thom has moved on? I hope he finds whatever he's looking
for. At least the group freed him from that vampire's plots."
A nearby patron said, "Oy! Put the Glass away, mate. This ain't the Bitter
Coast."
Shaka nodded to him and put the sheathed dagger on his belt, under the
travelling cloak. "Here's to Thom," he said, and raised his tankard
with Anya and Isidor.
"Isidor, I haven't seen the Lady today. I think she slept in. The Nine
know that she deserves it after the summoning and battles lately."
Shaka was studying Anya sympathetically.

Ahjaar walked around the town, considering her few options.
Barenziah was coming to the town for a few days, and to her knowlegde,
Barenziah was someone of very high power. Although this fact didn't really
concern her, for wether Barenziah came to the town or not, it would not effect
her. What Ahjaar was hoping to do was have a meeting with Loranna, and
hopefully she could help Ahjaar regain her memory.
Ahjaar had 550 gold left, left over from when Shaka had given her money to buy
the void salts for the summoning, and he had never asked for the change, so
Ahjaar assumed the money was now hers.
She could use the gold to buy food, equipment, and other things when she set
out from Ald Raathim to...
Ahjaar relised she had no place to go.
When she regained her memory, she was confedent that she would remeber where
she had come from.
But then again, maybe she would not want to go back to the place she first came
from. For all she knew, her home could well be in ruins...

The Royal Barge was quite unmistakable on the Inner Sea. A slim,
black hulled boat with mithril accents that reflect the blue of the water, its
sails were vast and as light as it was, it almost seemed to fly over the waves.
It could be seen from the topmost tower of the castle, and would clearly be
arriving within an hour or two.
The castle was alive with activity, every surface being scrubbed and buffed
while the kitchen staff prepared the feasts. Razbiah stole glances at the cake
in the pantry. It was like a totem of a foreign God, impressive and heretical.

Reichi watched the impressive vessel approach Ald Raathim, dressed in a
expensive blue shirt and pants. His collar and the sheathed Bloodfang looked
incongrous with the expensive clothing, but he didn't much care. The Dagger Of
Senses was tucked neatly into his belt, in plain sight, and more fitting with
the otherwise noble look of his clothing. He watched the dock workers nearby,
some, like Reichi, gawked at the magnificent ship, others however began working
harder.
He turned and began walking back to the castle. No point in staying out here
for now. Meeting Barenziah when she came was Loranna and Kallen's job.

Loranna had donned her best dress for the arrival of the Queen,
all red with gold that emphesized her lovely features, and chose jewelry to
accent the outfit without drawing overmuch attention to itself. Well-made
matching shoes covered her feet and her hair was done up in the formal style -
and discretely trimmed to remove the burnt tips caused by Faydra's attack.
The butterflies in her stomach continued to flutter, but she paid them little

she seemed to be a spirit, not flesh and blood at all. The white was a marked
contrast with the dark flesh of her face, and the severe, formal style of her
silver hair.
As the ship drew closer, all could see that Barenziah was actually laughing as

The red-armored royal guard prepared the ship for landing.
At first, Barenziah's white outfit made Loranna's butterflies dance around a
bit; the Queen Mother reminded her slightly of her first glimpse of Allie, how
much she had been both awed and even intimidated, yet drawn to the Nord woman.
When the ship drew closer though, Loranna's butterflies quiet down; seeing
Barenziah's laughter reminded Loranna that this woman, legendary as she was,
was still a person, and one who seemed to appreciate a joke at that. Loranna's
own face became more animate, her own dignified smile showing excitement and
joy, though in the back of her mind, she wondered just what the joke might be.
Since she was in the presence of royalty, she bowed, as was proper, thankful
that she had rehearsed her manners beforehand. Upon rising, she uttered her
greeting.
"Queen Mother Barenziah, welcome to Ald Raathim," she says, raising
her voice enough for everyone to hear. "You grace us with your presence

I've heard so little about you" Sona states
"My your a bubbly one aren't you?"
"I've been called worse..." Sona replies "...so whats the deal
with that Staff?"
"This...it's called the Shifting Staff...it's said to have a hundred
forms...although I've only mastered 99 of these"
"And that rather nasty looking cut on your hand?" Sona asks
"...a Shehai...which seems to be non-functioning"
"...is that all? Here let me see" Sona says
*...One reluctantly hands over his Staff...*
"Now your hand..." Sona asks
*...As One gives her his hand he can feel the warmth of a Spell passing through

red...One agains feels heat, only this time way more intense...in the split
second it burns the heat recedes and his Staff glows a brilliant Blue...*
"Well, theres not alot I can about your Shehai right now, I'm really not
prepared...but if you come across the ingredients sometime soon I might be able
to help you" Sona said
"...And my hand?"
"Oh that, well since you can't use your Shehai, I transfered your Shehais
energy into the Staff...it should make it a great deal stronger" Sona
explains
"...You've done this before?" Ami asks
"Well yeah, as far as transfering Magickas goes...Shehais on the other
hand" Sona starts
"Wait...so you dont know what your doing? Where the hell did you find her
Ami?"
"In Solsthiem..." Ami replies "...say Master One, did you know
Loranna is a member of House Dres now?"
"No...actually I didn't know that, if she plays her cards right she might
very well be running House Dres soon"
"What do you mean?" Sona inquires

With a slight grunt, she moved the flower pot another inch.
Using a handkerchief, she wipes the dirt away from the stone beneath, revealing
the letters "SY."
"I carved those there a very, very long time before you were born, when I

Requested my presence? Is that what she said or just a simple servant

Then Vivec left the mystics of the Number Room and went back to the space

The Breton leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes, as if
searching for a fleeting thought.
Arynel began to recite:
Then Vivec left the mystics of the Number Room and went back to the space
that was not a space. From the Provisional House he looked into the middle
world to find the sixth monster, called City-Face. He was vexed when he could
not find it and went back to the Mourning Hold in secret anger, killing a
mystic that asked about higher order.
Nerevar, the Hortator, witnessed this and said, 'Why do this, milord? The
mystics look to you for guidance. They work to make your temple better stoned.'
Vivec said, 'No one knows what I am.'
Isidor smiled, then said:

Ald Raathim: Tris
There seemed to be something happening at the castle. He should watch, he
should get his bearings before going Inside, but if he didn't rest soon he
would faint, and if he fainted here, he would fall, and if he fell... well,
that wasn't even worth thinking about.
Tris pushed his way into his old room, and leaned against the wall. The room
smelled different. All scents seemed stronger right now; his ears were ringing.
Was it an Argonian he smelled?
After several long moments, he was able to uncork a small vial and drink it. He
wiped his mouth, bared his teeth at the mirror, watched the red disappear from
the whites of his eyes. He had come a long way.
To Oblivion and back, people said sometimes, when they meant they had gone far
and endured much. Well, he had gone far past Oblivion. Oblivion was just a stop
on the way.
He glanced at the room, which was neat, with a hat lying on the bed. Definitely
an Argonian. And a fop, by the looks of things. Tris wondered who had joined
the group since he had last been here.
Outside the room he saw no one he recognized. There was definitely something
going on, a formal event, by the sound of it. He should slip outside and
investigate before walking into an unfamiliar situation. But he was oh, so
tired. Instead he changed into better clothes - the ones he was wearing were
travel-stained - washed in the basin - and brushed his hair.
The sound of the first step he took startled him. He tapped his foot on the stone
floor again to be sure.
"Huh," he said, out loud.
Outside the dining room he met a Dunmer servant girl he liked, who liked him.
She was busy, but he greeted her with a smile.
"Private party?" he said. "Or did someone just forget to send me
an invitation?"

"A nice ring indeed." she answered, smirking coyly. She picked up her

Shaka could catch only a little of what Anya was saying, but he disagreed about
Barenziah. He had never met her, only heard others' accounts, but she seemed to
him to be someone who had truly lived a life.
He couldn't imagine what it had been like: penniless thief, plaything to be
passed around, queen and mother of kings, and much else; a life ten times as
long as his had been, though he was already forty years of age. Somehow she had
been destitute as Shaka had never been, yet not completely hardened; and
powerful as few women had been, yet still seeming mortal.
He could see a trace of the girl in Barenziah's eyes still. There was something
he had once heard of called the Eternal Woman, the eternal feminine . . .
Perhaps that was something he and most males had always recognized in the world
and pursued.

As the feast progressed, Loranna takes a few moments to
introduce her companions to the Queen:
Turning first to the green-scaled older Argonian, she says "This is Shaka,
Battlemage and a stalwart companion, who has graced us with his presence since
Early Harvest and helped me with several adventures."
Smiling at the handsome blond Breton youth, she says "This is Tris, an
adventurer and hero of the Blue Dawn. He has saved my life on several
occasions, and he has one of the world's fastest wits."
Turning to the blond Bosmer girl, Loranna tells Barenziah "This is Anya,
archer and adventurer. We met recently in Vvardenfell and she has stood by us
in our recent difficulties, showing a keen eye and a strong bowarm."
Looking at the young, handsome, curly-haired Breton with the twinkling eyes,
she says "This is Arynel, traveler, bard, and another hero of the Dawn. If
it weren't for him, I probably would not be here today."
Turning to the shining Argonian in the exquisite clothes, Loranna grins
"This is Falco, who has lead a full life, including time in the Legion and
as a freelance adventurer. Among other exploits, he's helped foil assassin's
plots on a couple of occasions."
Looking to the burly, mead-loving Nord, Loranna says "This, again, is
Isidor, warrior and hunter, who has fought enemies both mortal and otherworldly
to protect us since we've become friends."

The innkeep started to clim up the stairs. The altmer owed him money
by now. He had reserved the room only for few weeks, but it was already third
week going now. He didn't care anymore that the High Elf had told him not to
disturb him what ever happened. The innkeep came to front of his door, and
knocked. "Open up!" When no answer came, he took his key and opened
the door. There the altmer was, sitting on the floor. There was something
strange about him though... He proceeded next to him. He was obviously on some
kind of a trance, and he didn't really want to disturb him. He would just take
the money the elf already owed him. So he reached out to his pocket, but then
his finger touched accidently altmer's skin. He pulled out his hand as if it
was burning. He stared for a second, not realizing what had happened. The tip
of his finger had burned down to the bone. A horrible scream erupted from his
mouth. But, even as he watched, his flesh started to grow back.

QUOTE(Allerleirauh @ Aug 2 2005, 09:38 AM)
Tris was enjoying listening to the conversation. It was good to
be back, even if he was so tired he was having trouble seeing straight. Some
types of exhaustion, no potion could cure.
"Nalion!" Tris said, smiling. He pulled Nalion's sleeve, and
whispered into his ear. "I have a message for you. Let's slip out for a
breath of fresh air, shall we?"
"Tris, what are you doing here?", Nalion answered in the same
low tone, yet stressing the word 'you' a bit more than necessary. His eyes
gleamed and a broad smile appeared on his face. He was glad to see Tris
again... how long had it been?
Curious as to what message Tris would have for him, Nalion nodded in
understanding. "I know a place where we can talk."
In swift strides, Nalion led his fellow Breton up onto the walls of the castle,
where a fresh breeze blew over the battlements. Unconsciously, he had chosen
almost the same location where he had stood with Dragon and Aricyn just after
Hogithum.
"What is it, my friend?", he asked.

QUOTE(Loranna @ Aug 2 2005, 12:06 AM)
Turning to the blond Bosmer girl, Loranna tells Barenziah
"This is Anya, archer and adventurer. We met recently in Vvardenfell
and she has stood by us in our recent difficulties, showing a keen eye and a
strong bowarm."
"Which is funny, as I only began archery but a week and a half ago."
she leaned over and remarked to Falco smiling, finding it humorous that she had
such natural talent that that was how she was remembered.

"I don't know how much Loranna has told everyone about what we've been
planning," Tris said. "I've been... I've been traveling back and
forth, between the General and Master Solin, and here. To keep an eye on
Solunastra, for one thing, and for another, because I'm the only one they have
to carry messages. I'm fast. And I haven't taken on form in... never mind. This
is too confusing to talk about, even while drunk, and I'm not drunk."
Despite his words, the young man did seem a bit intoxicated. His skin sparkled
with a faint glaze of sweat, and he swayed slightly on his feet.
"The General - Allerleirauh - sent me to you, because you were Julianos.
You're the smart one, and some part of that still clings to you, and will cling
to you forever. We need your help."
He explained to Nalion, as quickly as he could, what help was needed.
"You're the best person to do this, Allie's sure of it," he finished.
"And it's the only way, I know it seems drastic but nothing less will
work. The problem is getting worse, not better, and if it's allowed to continue
- well, more and more things will stop working the way they were meant to, the
Nine Divines will lose control, and... I don't even know what could
happen."

Leaning on a merlon, Nalion listened to Tris intently, never taking an eye from
him. The expression on his face was a mixture of many feelings, curiosity,
concern, doubt and surprise, yet also a certain confidence. Then, he nodded.
"Much has happened and will happen still. If this is the only way - and I
trust Allerleirauh's judgement - then it will be done. Time to play the drum
again, it seems. I will do my part.", Nalion nodded gravely, then
straightened himself.
The Breton looked at Tris with concern and touched his brow with his hand.
"What is with you? You're sweating. Don't stress yourself too much. Can I
help?", he asked.

"I'm all right. It's just weird out there, weirder than you can imagine.
You'll see, when it's time to go. I guess I'm a little bit in shock. There were
some things... I didn't expect this, for example," Tris said.
He stomped his right foot. The stone beneath him was thick enough that it gave
back no echo, merely a soft thumping sound.

"Your foot is...", Nalion began, looking at Tris's foot in surprise,
"..healed? This is not how stone sounds on stone..."
"If I probably did not know better, I'd ask you to take some rest here and
now, Tris, but I suppose you can't, yes?", the Breton asked with concern.
"I know you are strong, Tris, but you mustn't exhaust yourself. We need
you. Maybe you should see Loranna to help you. I fear my skills in restoration
are limited. Please be careful."

"I'm fine, Nalion. I wasn't born yesterday."
And Tris laughed, as if at a private joke.
"My body is perfect, it's my sanity that's stretched, and Loranna's never
been good at mending minds. But I think a glass of Daruhn's finest... whatever
they call it here, it certainly shouldn't be dignified with the name 'wine'...
with one of the most legendary beauties of our fine Empire will fix me up
nicely. Shall we go back, and see if the Queen remembers me from the time I
glimpsed her in a crowd when I was six years old?"
He turned towards the dining hall.

"Why not? I could use a drink for myself.", Nalion quickly agreed.
"Loranna has a store of good Wayrest vintage, Tris. I doubt that she would
hold it back when Barenziah is present."
The mage winked at his friend. "Let's go."
