Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ Loranna's RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Arynel Yesterday, 08:53 PM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the
badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in
the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look Here.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

QUOTE(syronj @ Aug 10 2005, 12:46 PM)
Shaka was silent. "I still think it an idea worth
raising with others. Whoever goes to the battle will need an edge over
the killing machines who have presumably had centuries or millenia to work with
each other themselves. . . . But I'm speculating."
"I will try to consider your words."
"If you are able to learn such a skill, then very well," Arynel said,
"but I have no knowledge of how to aquire such an ability."
"However," the Breton continued, "I do know that if each member
of a group becomes properly attuned to the others, telekinesis will not be a
great advatage over what they have already."

Isidor felt the blow, but swung sideways, and hit Ahjaar in the
head with his staff.
Ahjaar recoiled from the blow, then dropped to a squat and did a spin kick,
hoping to knock the Nord over.

IC:
And if Arynel, with unknown powers, tells me it's not feasible, why should I
assume Nalion or others would know how, thought Shaka. So easy to say,
"work" with each other, "trust".
Shaka nodded. "Thanks anyway." He walked back to the others.

OOC Summary:
Reichi curerently slumbering off last nights post-pratice drinking...
-----
Dream
Reichi glanced up at the sky as he trudged through the snow. His body ached
all over. The Bite wound to his shoulder had healed but it still hurt. Damn
Nord. Suddenly the pain in his legs intensified and he fell forward onto his
knees, the pain growing in his hands, tailbone, and face at the same time, as a
warm feeling spread through his body. He fell forward again, onto his hands and
knees.
Reichi cried out in pain, and held up his right hand, seeing the fingernails
blacken and lengthen into long wickedly sharp claws, as the same happened on
the other hand. He didn't see the thin coat of white fur begining to form as he
glanced back at his feet, where they had turned into Digitgrade paws and
already ripped through his boots. "Oh gods no..." he muttered as
realization dawned on him. His next setance was drowned out in a cry of pain as
a tail began forming, while his face grew into a muzzle, making sickening bone
snapping and popping sounds.
Reichi could only watch helplessly as the transformation completed, the
Werewolf standing and ripping the rest of the armor off it's White-furred body,
and took several steps in the direction Reichi had been heading, sniffing the
air before dropping to all fours and rushing off into the night. After some
poor soul who's only mistake was being close by and out after dark.
------------------------
Castle Daruhn, Reichi's room
Reichi's eyes fluttered open as he recovered from the dream, and groaned.
"Always ends there," he muttered, as if the dream had occured to him
before, which it had. It was clearer and more real each time. Reichi sighed and
got out of bed, dressing, donning his armor and sheathing his blades. After
'breakfast' (which was really lunch), Reichi headed down to the Arena to see
what was going on, he glanced at the sky, "Really slept in today...".
When he saw Arynel in the Arena he smirked. "Hello Folks," he greeted
as he entered the Arena.

The Breton took a breath before speaking, “The magical processes integral to
healing involve both the recognition of damage and the mending itself, you must
learn empathy.”

“If you want a ship built,” said the Nord. “You go to a Nord.”
Goranthir had already surveyed the boats in the bay, and he couldn’t find any
that would work for a place to live. There was one solution left, to talk to
the shipbuilders. Generally, they repaired fishing skiffs and other small
craft, but they were eager to try something bigger.
It would be two hundred and fifty feet long with a displacement of three
thousand tons. The forecastle would be fifty feet high, well suited for archers
and battlemages. Two captains’ rooms in the quarter deck, and room for
seventy-five crew members below. Three masts would be the main means of
propulsion, but the walls of the storage area could open up and be used to oar
on windless days.
Goranthir whistled as he made his way to the Arena. The ship would be ready in
a couple weeks.

In the early afternoon, Shaka walked back to the castle and
headed to the baths. He was alone as he found an oaken tub and slipped into it,
not bothering to heat it beyond room temperature this time.
After he cleaned up, Shaka planned to walk back to the Mage Guild and learn the
spell of Bound Armor. It was true that he had the Dragonbone Cuirass, but the
spell would protect the rest of his limbs more effectively than his current
hodgepodge, if necessary.

side, he practices various summons and illusions.
Raithen Arthat had watched the group of people that had slowly seeped into the
arena. They were mostly the people he had met in the tavern last night.
He watched as some practiced sparring, some archery, some magic, and some just
gernerally talked with eatchother.
He observed them and listened to their conversations. As he had previously stated
to Loranna, this was all for a book he was writing, and would, hopefully,
complete it before the end of the year.

Loranna:
Tris has asked me to write concerning what the team of heroes will be facing.
Not having been to the Outer Realms myself, I know only rumors and theories.
Master Solin knows more; I will speak with him and write again.
Tris tells me that you had a visit from Barenziah. The old queen is no fool,
but I urge you to remember that she is as much an alien in Morrowind as Helseth
is. The division of Dunmer into Houses is much older than she is, and religious
in origin. She would be making a very grave mistake to tamper with the
independence of the Houses, and you would be making a grave mistake to support
her.
There are rumors in high places that war will be coming soon, not just a local
war in Morrowind, but a war involving all of the Empire. If Morrowind's people
are to survive, another pointless war is the last thing they need right now.

"Bollocks" he muttered before holding it over his head.
Reichi brought Bloodfang down towards Isidor, while jabbing at him with the

Tris woke late, bleary-eyed, and cursed the heat of midday as he
went for his run. At least the water in the bay was still pleasant.
He left his hair wet, savoring the feel of the water dripping down the back of
his neck, and went to watch the others fighting in the Arena.
Loranna comes out of the castle, wearing her adventuring robe; light glints off
her tiara as she makes her way down to the Arena.
Seeing Tris, a slow smile comes to her face, but the handsome Breton might
notice Loranna's brow is furrowed slightly, and her smile fades more quickly
than normal.
"Just got back from a dip?" she asks, noting his wet hair. She looks
on the practice and nods slightly.

Loranna goes over a couple last minute things with Tris, while weaving a couple
of spells. White light can be seen emenating from her hands at first, sparkling
around her, then a moment later blue light envelops Tris, then herself.
Her plans were laid, her setup complete, and her initial fortifying spells
cast; she turns to await the beginning of the match.

Sorkvild's Tower, Dagon Fel:
Ash reached inside the corpse and felt the around for the heart. Feeling the
hard, muscular ball, he looked to Sorkvild. "I have it. What now?" he
said, pulling the sleeve of his robe back up.
"Now, disintegrate the veins around it. Be certain not to damage the
heart, for you will need that. After the veins are removed, bring the heart out
and place it on the table." said the necromancer, watching as Ash followed
his instructions. "Good, now put the heart in the dish, and place it in
the center of the circle. Now, one last preparation. Put the soulgem on top of
the heart."
Ash did this, and began to recite the necromantic incantation.
"Sim'nareth, vel duum'nikem, sil roth'nifor, ren'kalor..." reciting
the verses over and over, the circle drawn in blood began to glow with a white
light. The corpse on the table lifted and burst into white flame. As the body was
consumed, an ethereal spirit entered the soulgem placed on the heart. Ash
stopped the words and opened his eyes. Before his stood the ghost of the body
he had just destroyed. "Good, it has worked. Now what was the purpose of
that?" said Ash, standing and picking up the soulgem.
"Because, my friend, these souls have not been blessed by Arkay, and are
wondering. By trapping them, you ensure that they may never be used again. The
gems will hold them until you release them. It is the only way I know of to
completely destroy one of the undead. Otherwise, thet can simply be
re-raised." said the ghost, taking the soul from Ash.
"A rather elaborate ritual, don't you think? I'm not sure I will have the
time for such things. And what of skeletons? They have no hearts."
"The ceremony can be performed by engraving the circle into the skull of a
foe. Simply hold it in one hand, with the gem in the other, and recite the
incantation. Keep in mind, these souls are angry. Bound to no will, if you
release them, they will attack anything they see. Be certain that you can
defeat the spirits should they come after you." said Sorkvild, returning
the gem.
"Well, thank you" said Ash, walking back over to the hatch. "I
hope I will live to see you again." Ash lifted the hatch, and dropped down
to the lower level.

of blood, while the healers took over.
"It was a good fight," he said. "And I think we've learned
something; having someone to remove enchantments, both negative ones on
us and positive ones on the others, is essential. Where's
Goranthir?"
Loranna looks around, frowning. "I don't see him; wasn't he here
earlier?" she asks.
"Thanks for helping, by the way," she adds to Tris.

A Day Later in Ald Raathim:
Ash returned to the town, and heard the sounds of battle. Moving to the arena,
he said to whomever cared to answer "What's this?"
"Training," Arynel answered, "learning to battle in teams."
The Breton turned and looked at Ash curiously, "How fare ye?"

Goranthir went to the archery range, daedric dai-katana in hand.
He aimed it carefully at the target, and released the spell.
The blast of force knocked the young ranger back ten feet and caused the target
to wobble. A little.
Goranthir got back to his feet and tried again.

"Training for what?" he said, flagging down the serving girl.

He was too bruised to be able to do it much longer, but he tried one last time.
The target and the rock it was on burst into mere particles.

He saw Tris out of the corner of his eye, and turned around. He smiles but he

There's another kindness, the kind that doesn't flinch at doing hard things
which are necessary. You don't learn how to hit people without hitting them. You
don't learn how to cough up blood and try to stay conscious long enough to keep
your friend from going down without doing it. You can try to learn those things
in real battle, against a real foe, and maybe lose everything because of
inexperience. Or you can learn them here and now, and keep yourself and your
friends alive."

"A boat!"
Tris laughed. "Are you going on a journey?"
"It's to live on," Goranthir shook his head. "Though it'd be
good to provide transport for the group ... I'm even outfitting it to be a war
galleon, just in case. I need a name for it still, but it'll be a couple weeks
'til it's ready."

An idea entered Isidor's mind. A rare occurance, but he felt
compelled to say something "An intresting idea, Loranna. How about, in the
upcoming days, each of us squares off against one another, until there are only
two left, then they face each other for some sort of prize. An enchanted item
or somesuch?"

Falco spoke, "Oh just the battle to decide the fate of
Mundus, nothing big."
Ash looks sternly at Falco before speaking "What exactly is happening?
What is it we are fighting?"

"I like boats," Goranthir shrugged, wondering about the strain in
Tris's voice, but attributing it to the fighting he had just endured. "I
like that it's a home, but its transportation too. I like --" He paused.
They had reached the castle, and he seemed to stumble over the next words.
"I like that it's private. I won't be spied on there, not easily anyhow
..."

"I don't know if I'm supposed to tell anyone... ask
Loranna."
"It's a long story, but the short version is, we're trying to prepare a
group of eight warriors to face off against ghostly foes, in order to
ultimately fix the restless spirit problems that have palgued Tamriel for some
time now," Loranna explains.
"Isidor, at this point I'm hoping for us to start working towards larger
group tactics, and to practice them, not necessarily to just run a two on two
tournament," Loranna says. "But I'll think about that; maybe we can
try entering a competition in more professional arenas once we get it
together."

"Hey so do I. Useful to go on the open ocean when you want to avoid being
found,by the err.. authorities."
