Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Loranna Yesterday, 03:42 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna, Female Nord: Loranna has recently received word from
General Light, aka Allerleirauh, expressing concern for Barenziah's plans for
Morrowind. Somewhat coincidentally, Loranna then went to the arena where she
teamed up with Tris to demonstrate teamwork and tactics in a fight with Isidor
and Falco. She currently sits in the study, discussing how the battle went with
her companions.

The Breton Arynel is currently at the arena in Ald Raathim, pondering the
battle he just witnessed, and perhaps other things also.

Falco Redflash is currently in the castle discussing the
previous fight.

about the fight.

ooc summary: Tris, a male Breton of 20 years, fought in
Loranna's improvised Arena alongside Loranna, against Isidor and Falco. Due to
organized tactics, he and Loranna won. Now he's walking back to the castle with
Goranthir, who was upset about the violence involved in the training.
QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Aug 10 2005, 08:36 PM)
"I like boats," Goranthir shrugged, wondering about
the strain in Tris's voice, but attributing it to the fighting he had just
endured. "I like that it's a home, but its transportation too. I
like --" He paused. They had reached the castle, and he seemed to
stumble over the next words. "I like that it's private. I won't be
spied on there, not easily anyhow ..."
Tris stopped walking for a moment, to look directly into Goranthir's face. When
he resumed, his voice was thoughtful.
"That's true. It's hard to spy on someone on a boat. I don't even know who
the spies are right now, and that used to be my job. You can bet Loranna hasn't
thought to do it with me gone."
Posted by: Sheogorath Yesterday, 03:45 AM
Goranthir is with Tris, who has brought him around to
understanding the need to fight one another as a form of training. He has just
told Tris that he has bought a warship to live on, where he can be free from
"spying."

"Something like this, perhaps?" He showed it to Loranna. "It has

"One thing I noticed is that we need at least two support mages, one for

have been able to take tris down before I could renew his enchantments. Having
two people to take care of dispel and fortify effects would be nice."

Here."
She held out her hand, and in it was a palm-sized figure, a spitting image of
Loranna, tearstreaks and all.
"I was thinking you could use it in planning tactics - if you want, I can
make a whole set of others pretty soon. Only if you want it, of course. Just

Gidar Neras was a well-to-do merchant. He was a dunmer, a
typically good, if a bit disinclined to believe in the equality of other races,
citizen, and given the chance he’d even spend a bit of time in the temple on
holidays. Arriving by humble means, something of a refugee, during the later
days of the Dawn, Gidar had built himself a respectable business as a
pawnbroker and outfitter. The mer sat under his awning trying to keep somewhat
cool in the heat, glowering in the direction of the crowd on the corner.
It was that Nord from the bar, he was raving still and worse still… others had
joined him.
“Alduin descends on us all!” “Only the inglorious dead will be spared from his
terrible hunger!” “Make ready, our wait grows short!”

Raithen: Wizard

Restoration

Loranna looks at the various papers. " ... Conjuration; if
conjuration spells work out there then we could definitely use them," she
says. "My finace Slyvos has offered to be the fireball flinger, though ...
well, he's been kind of quiet lately ..."
Clearing her throat, she frowns, considering. "Okay; Raithen you say
you've a secondary specialty in healing. Shaka, you have a couple healing
spells. Are either of you good at curses, attribute-draining or damaging
spells, things such as blind and silence and dispel?"

left me with the unique chance to hone my combat skills using only steel and
iron. The Legion has me training the troops in armed combat, what follows are
my generally musings on various combat subjects.
A combination of archers with dismounted men-at-arms will give you the
advantage. But purely defensive tactics, however efficient, can only win
battles if the enemy obliges by battering himself to pieces against them. They
leave him free to decide if and when to give battle and when to break it off.
Whenever possible while on the defensive, choose a position with a slope in
front and some sort of natural protection, whether it be a river or a mountain,
protecting at least one flank. The slope will lessen the charge of the enemy
should they choose that route.
An offensive charge should be attempted only after volleys of arrows have
weakened the enemy and only on flat, open ground. Let the armored members of
the group do the charging in a large battle. The stout armor of the Imperial
Legion is capable of fending off great blows that would fell an unarmored man.
A charge will not succeed against an enemy infantry that are still locked
together holding pikes.
A wall of Legionaries with tower shields not only looks impressive but will
also serve as a staging area for a volley of arrows or more precision shots at
closer ranges. Enchant their shields with an absorb or reflect spell and you
have a neigh invincible, mobile base. When advancing, put spearmen (or
spearwoman) immediately behind the shields, if the enemy charges the spears can
stick through the gaps in the line and assist in stopping the charge. If one of
your shield-men should fall, the spearman will take his place and cover him
until he gets healing. An archer should NEVER pick up a shield unless it is a
last resort, archers have one job- finding targets and eliminating them.
Study these tips and commit them to memory, try doing some maneuvers with
shields and spears. Practice keeping archers covered while moving. I will write
down more tips as I have time. For now just keep practicing. Good Hunting.

He woke up early. This was most unexpected, so Raithen got to
work on some paper work. After finishing, he decided to head out. He ate some
breakfest, got dressed, grabbed his staff and set out for the arena.
When he arrived, no one was in sight. "Hmm, it seems I'm a little too
early today," said Raithen while chuckling to himself. "Well, I'll
just have to wait." And he immediatly headed over to he side of the arena,
and started putting the finishing touches on the spell he was making...

The sun fell through the silk curtains, threw itself on the bed and sung its
morning song.
Ahjaar awoke. She sat up, and looked around.
Luxi was still sleeping at her side, the papers she had left on her desk were
still there from last night.
Nothing had happened.
No dreams.
Nothing.
Ahjaar streched and yawned, then got out of bed, waking Luxi.
Luxi sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"Morning."
"Morning Mom."
------------------------
The two of them headed down to the drunken guar.
Ahjaar and luxi had the usual: A sweet roll, kwama eggs and juice.
Ahjaar was thinking about going to the beach for a morning dip... but only if
Luxi wanted to.
"Hey, babe, you want to go swimming after breakfast."
Luxi took a bite out of her sweet roll. "Sure."

of his new spell. He waved his hand and a peice of parchment apeared with
scrawling handwriting on it.
Hand of Hardship
-Absorb willpower
-Absorb strength
-Absorb fatigue
-Absorb endurance
-Absorb magica
-All for seventy percent
-Of a radius of 10 feet
"If I did this correct," said Raithen to himself, "then the
target will be rendered completly useless, and thus be out of the fight in a
matter of seconds." He scratched his beared.
"But this spell alone could drain me." He shook his head doubtfullly.
"Oh well, best to save it for last..."

Dear Gerard,
Its been a while but I'm asking for another favor. Would you mind sending me
full soulgem and an empty one from the mage's guild supply room? I know it a
lot to ask but I desperately need it. I' into something big, Gerard, something
very big... I need the full one to enchant my saber and the other one, because
I get the feeling there will probably be some powerful souls to trap. Thanks

The Telvanni towers against the eastern coastline of Morrowind, even with the
morning sun shining through, looked like the desiccated tusks of some ancient
beast. Barenziah was within. Kena Telvanni Gilroam, the most powerful sorceror
in the House, and sovereign of the land for the past three thousand years, had
not permitted her to spend the night in his home. It was not surprising. She
had anticipated hostility. The best she would hope to get in negotiations with
Gilroam would be a promise of neutrality, and even that was suspect.
As Barenziah and her retinue made their way through the dark, twisted hallways
of the palace, she thought on the meeting the previous day. It had been
Gilroam’s four thousand and five hundredth birthday, and she had unpleasantly
surprised him. It had been the worst surprise he had in a hundred years, since
Killedael, his former apprentice had turned on him, forcing him to banish Killedael
to a remote island in the Sea of Ghosts forever.
Barenziah waited outside the audience chamber while the servant went to fetch
the Master of the Manor. There were still smoking signs of battle everywhere.
“Kena Killedael will see you now,” the servant said.
“Poor Gilroam,” Barenziah said as she walked into the audience chamber. “He was
not to live to four thousand, five hundred and one.”

Tris Gaerington waited for the interview to be at an end. He had been waiting
most of the night, off and on, with occasional excursions Inside for food and
sips of potions to restore his fatigue.
He had come in the hopes of catching Barenziah when she wasn't busy. That was
proving to be more difficult than he had expected.
Having grown up in Wayrest, under Elysana's firm but dainty hand, he felt
little sympathy for the fallen Dunmer. What did they expect? Sovereigns could
be ignored when they were safely at a distance; up close, they must be
respected.
How could he approach her, without making the same mistake he had made with
Elysana? He had no desire to alarm her, or alert her to the extent of his
talents.
He decided, in the end, to approach her respectfully, through proper channels.
Her retinue knew him.
"If you would let her majesty know I'm here," he said.

Raithen summoned a simple Scamp, then cast his Hand of
Hardship spell on it.
The spell had an immediate effect on the Scamp. It sank, it's body structure
almost broke in half from supporting it's own weight. The scamp fell to the
ground, incapacitated, not even able to lift a limb.
"This is more of a curse," said Raithen as he studied the Scamp. He then
mumbled the counter-spell and dismissed the Scamp. "Could do with some
work," he shook his head, and began working out some flaws.

Falco called out to Anya, "Shoot the crap out of Gor, while
I gut him with my sword. He shouldn't last to long." He drew his saber and
ran towards Goranthir.
Good, it's working. Anya fired a few more, careful to not deplete her
quiver quickly though. As the three got closer to each other, Anya slung her
bow shouting "Keep him busy Falco." and waved her hands, disappearing
into the noon light.

Tris had been holding his breath; now he laughed too.
When he got his breath back, he said, "I'm afraid if you want
someone to pry secrets of state from you, you've come to the wrong man. I have
all sorts of inappropriate questions. I want to know what Tiber Septim was like
in bed. I want to know... but never mind, I talk too much.
"Poor King Helseth! It's just... he has the population of Morrowind
thinking he's a human-lover, and the population of Wayrest thinking he's a
poser. I thought he must be too smart for that. Which left the possibility that
he thought it might be useful to appear... something of a buffoon... or that he
really didn't like his ears very much. Which I could understand. It's been
difficult for Goranthir, growing up in Summerset, looking as he looks."
Tris glanced at her sideways, trying to gauge her mood. His own was ebullient,
triumphant; but it would be easy to trespass.
Barenziah nodded. She had been laughing along with Tris, but grew quiet at the
end when Goranthir was mentioned.
"When I was a little girl, I lived in Skyrim," she said. "I know
how that is, but the Altmer are much crueler than the Nords. I think he was
very lonely. Probably he still is, though he certainly enjoys your company, and
that of your friends."

Falco fell on his back to dodge the blow. It was done quite clumsily and he
wasn't prepared for a sword slash, however 3 quick successive kicks to Isidor's

Anya's fleet foot kept the blast from hitting square on, but she was hit from
the area effect from behing. Anya flung foward and hit the ground. Blast,
I'll need to be quicker, I only have a short time like this.
Using the invisibility to get up, knowing that a skilled ranger would follow
the impressions on the ground, she hoped that her small frame and light weight
would keep that to a minimum.
Trying to circle around Goranthir, she readied her bow. She aimed at a spot
where the ebony armor seperated to allow movement, waiting until she had the
perfect shot. She became visible once more as she let the arrow fly. Hit the
mark, come on...
