Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Sheogorath Aug 12 2005, 01:14 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

says. "It will let Shaka be free to focus on enhancing our fighters, give
us an edge. I say let Arynel take pure healing duties and Shaka focus on
buffing our fighters as needed with fortify and protective spells."
Loranna adds " ... If anyone's going to use marks to get around, now's the

Shaka immediately went to an area closer to the fence, where Loranna might have
to fall back to, and crossed his arms before him, uttering the spell of Mark.
"In case we have to make a fighting retreat," he explained, "And
I can help Goran protect her."
Shaka then began the mudras and words of power to protect the group. The white
light of Sanctuary spells wrapped itself around the companions, and the purple
glow of shields.

Reichi smirked, moving towards the fence and using his amulet of
mark to mark the location. "Well, better mark location than the Parrapton
stalls," Reichi said. That was where his previous mark had been. He
hadn't changed it since the Blue Dawn. He pocketed the mark amulet and kept his
recall amulet ready.

Raithen came to reletively the same area as Shaka, thought a little closer to
the enemy.
He then said the incantation for mark.
When he got back to his origonal spot, he asked, "are magical sheilds
allowed? I do have a perminant one currently surrounding myself at the

"One last word of advice to those of you on the front
line," Goranthir said quickly. "Dram will likely be wearing a belt
that will enhance his strength greatly. Don't get too close."

"They are," Loranna says, casting a quiet little spell
on herself and a mark spell. Her robe flutters a bit more, revealing her ice
armor underneath.
"Arynel, what did you ... ah, it's a little late to ask," she says.
"Tell me after what you might have suggested though, if you would."
The guards seem to have finished their preperations; the Bosmer and the
Imperial had been mucking around closer to the center of the arena, while the
others had been fanned out in the other corner, white flashes of magic
occasionally seen. Now, they come back together, drawing ranks.
Han-Za begins chanting, and blue and purple light can be seen surrounding
people. Miliele Gaban raises her hands and casts magic, causing white light to
appear over Dram and Relamus. Dilave knocks an arrow as Pilpen and Ghamul move
to the rear, closing ranks with Han-Za, and Galdiir simply draws her sword,
crouching as though ready to dash.
Dram raises his ebony sword in a salute, and waits for the match to begin.

lowering his arms dramatically.

In the interests of preserving sanity, the mangement asks that each participant
post once per every turn the guards collectively make. I as the guards will let

Raithen sent forth his spell of summon, and all the Lesser
Daedra, whom he had made a pact with earlier, appeared directly in front of the
enemies.
A Hunger: Raithen hoped to scare some of the soldiers.
An Ogrim: This Daedra can take the hits while the rest of us attack, thought
Raithen.
A Dremora: These were always good fighters.
He then shouted an incantation of silence at Pilpen Horatius; hoping to quench

Loranna frowns; she had hoped people would hold back unleashing
the big destructive magics until she had cast Dispel on people. Her own hands were
raised to cast an Absorb Agility and Blind effect on Dilave, hoping to shut
down their archer and leave her and the others free to cast spells.
Having cast her spell, she prepares her next, tracking the guards with her
eyes.

Diamond was putting the finishing touches on her final model:
Allerleirauh, whose image she had been assisted with by Maerin and Shai. She
placed it next to the rest of them - Reichi, with a dagger...Isidor, with an
axe...Anya, with bow and spear...Raithen, whom she had seen at the study, hands
up and staff stowed...and so it went, over a dozen little figures with their
skills at the ready.
Tired, but extremely pleased, Diamond wrapped the palm-sized objects and placed
them in a box. She went upstairs from the studio into her bedroom, ready to go
to sleep, when she heard someone enter the shop below. Throwing on a cloak and
brushing her hair hurriedly, Diamond went downstairs, to find an Orc female
standing in the center of the sparse room, looking around. Relieved that the
statuettes of the most famous people in town were put away, Diamond said,
"Hello, welcome to Diamond's Art Studio, can I be of service?"
The Orc shrugged. "Just browsing."
Yeah, right. There wasn't any completed work on display yet.
"What's that?" The Orc pointed at the rudimentary sketch for the
castle-in-the-rain piece.
"It's a painting I'm working on," replied Diamond. "It's the
castle."
"It's nice."
"Would you like to place a reservation, ma'am?"
"No, I like the sketch - I need to get something for my husband's
birthday...he grew up in this town...I'll buy it up front...how much?"
Startled, Diamond said, "You set the price, ma'am, I'll ask accept, or I
won't. I haven't set a price for the piece yet."
"I'll give you...3000?"
Diamond was shocked. "That will...that will do nicely, ma'am, I'll pack it
up straight away."
When the Orc left, Diamond glanced out the door, to see that something was
happening at the arena. Forgetting sleep entirely, she put her new money in a
safe place, grabbed the statuette box, and went to the arena stands.

Dram calls out "Advance!" and he and Relamus move
forward, not charging yet but hustling. The sight of the Daedra summoned and
Reichi and Isidor advancing to meet him does not seem to worry him yet.
Ghamul moves to stand between Falco's arrow and Han-Za, raising his shield; the
arrow crashes into the Orchish steel and breaks, earning Falco the reply of
"Your arrows are useless against me!"
Relaumus is hit by Shaka's spell, but flashes with a white light, and Shaka
feels his spell rebounding on him. Fortunately, Absorb spells don't hurt when
reflected.
Goran's spell hits Ghamul, who staggers back, groaning " ... But that
wasn't useless ... haha ..." Still, the Orc manages to hold his ground.
Then, as the advacing heroes and Daedra cross the half-way mark, paralyize
traps go off, threatening to catch both hero and Daedra alike. ...
"Now!" Dram yells, and Pilpen raises his hands and casts a powerful,
area-effect Disintigrate Armor and Drain Strength toward Isidor and Reichi.
Han-Za casts a spell of Fortify Endurance on the two guards and Miliele
activates an amulet, then casts a powerful poisonbloom spell at the Daedra and
Isidor and Reichi. Dram and Relaulmus wait for the spell to hit and then
advance forward, sword and spear seeking Isidor first.
Galdiir seems to fade as she activates a Chameleon spell and she rushes forward
quickly, pulling out a dart and throwing it at Isidor to keep him off-balance.
The archer fires off an arrow at Loranna and another at Raithen, trying to keep
them from getting off any more spells. Her eyes are tearing, though ...
"I been hit by blind!" she calls out.

Raithen and Loranna are close enough that Goranthir can deal with both of the

Isidor gets hit by the disenigrate armor spell and the posionbloom spell, but
the dart misses him. He tries to heal himself, with his incredibly limited

"Thanks," Loranna says, smiling quickly to Goranthir. She resists the

The front lines were chaotic, with all the Daedra and fighters in the way, but
Loranna had been working on her ability to cast accurately into a crowd, with
Dram himself ironically enough. She waits for Isidor to give her an opening,

Raithen’s next move was to stop the archers before even they could knock

The Dremora was also paralyzed beyond movement. And he felt the full force of
the Poisenbloom spell as it entered his veigns and began slowly began killing
him. He would have to wait for the paralyses to wear off...
Hunger's Perspective
The Hunger saw the Orgrim and Dremora get paralyzed, and (as it wasn't moving
as fast as them) decided to hang back. It began throwing paralyses spells at
the enemy archers.[/i]
OOC: I added the Daedra's perspective so I (and everyone else) could keep track
of what they were doing at the moment. Hope that's okay...

Dram calls out "Han-Za!" as Isidor's blows and ice
spell take their toll. He strikes at Isidor, his belt glowing and temporarily
overcoming Loranna's strength drain. Relaumus is not as lucky, but gamely
continues to fight.
The Argonain chants, casting healing and restoring magic on Dram and Relamus.
Dram mutters "Next time, stronger starting reflect spells ..." as the
healing magic takes effect, restoring his and Relaumus's strength enough to let
them continue fighting and healing some of the wounds Dram has taken.
Dilave, the archer, gets hit by paralyis and attack spell and looks grievously
wounded; she has a fearful look etched on her face, but the Orc moves to pull
her back out of harm's way, moving her to Han-Za.
Pilpin was casting Dispels to remove Isidor's and Reichi's enchantments when
Reichi broke off to attack him; Piplin raises his shield to block. "Nicely
struck, but now you face a full battlemage friend," he says, grinning at
Reichi. Then, Falco's arrow hits Pelpin in the shoulder. " ... Blasted

Miliele, seeing that the enemy mages were still free to cast, lobs several
fireballs toward the party's rear ranks, hoping to keep Loranna and Raithen
off-balance until her team's archer can be healed and restored.
Gildiir, the Bosmer, dashes forward under cover of Chameleon and tries to stab
Isidor in the back; her blade glows with a poison enchantment.

Raithen sees several fireballs soaring straight towards him. By accident, of
course. Just before they hit, however, he casts one of his own custom spells in
the direction of Han-Za--A large ball of pure energy.
Then he get's hit by the fireballs, his sheild shimmers, flickers, but stays in

and is now out of range of casting anything short distance.

Galdiir sees Arynel, but is too late to avoid the paralysis
spell - which leaves her helpless to Shaka; the Argonain finds it easy to stab
her through the chest, and she crumples.
"One down!" Egalius yells, raising his hands and casting a healing
spell; Galdiir coughs, gets to her feet, and runs off the field, defeated.
Pelpin is in trouble; with arrows raining on him and Reichi putting him off
balance he can't cast any magic worth a damn. He tries to evade the Dunmer
fighter, taking another arrow as he does.
Relamus shudders, feeling Loranna's spell draw out his life force.
Han-za, healing everyone in the rear ranks, calls out "Captain! We're
being rushed!" The Orc gamely tries to fend off Shaka's Storm Atronach and
get Pelpin to safety, even as the Hunger finds the mage has sepll absorbtion up

"Hop the hill!" Dram yells, barely avoiding Isidor's tackle, and all
the remaining guards save Relaumus use either amulets or magic to cast Recall;
they appear behind the nearest rockpile, which affords them some cover.
"Heal up, everyone," Dram says. "We lost Galdiir; Miliele, burn

He cast sanctuary and shields once again on as many of the group as possible,

Loranna groans a bit as Arynel's healing spell takes effect,
just in time for the fireblossom spell to make her world a firey pit.
Dram grits his teeth, hanging on for a brief moment before surrendering to the
inevitbale; healers outside the arena are rushing to heal the fallen and people
in the crowd are yelling and stamping their feet.
Due to the rampaging Daedra and the demoralize spell, the remaining five guards
had broken ranks; the Orc was still berserking, holding back the Daedra with
impressive skill; when the Inferno goes off, he sinks to his knees, having
taken many wounds.
Falco's arrow does little, no one being in the area at the time he fires.
Of the remaining guards, the Dunmer is relatively unscathed by the Inferno,
having innate resistance, and the mage Miliele has escaped damage entirely, the
magicka assaulting her absorbed into her via her amulet. The healer Han-Za,
however, is seriously brurned, and Peplin looks like he's had better days.
"Five against eight!" Peplin shouts hoarsely, as he downs a healing
potion. "And Ghamul's almost down!"
"Focus on their summoner!" Dilave shouts, pulling out an arrow.
"Peplin, Miliele, take him down so we don't have these blasted Daedra on
our backs! Han-Za, help Ghamul before he falls!"
Han-Za darts forward, waving his staff; a shield spell encases him, and he
rushes to the Orc's aid, casting a healing spell.
Dilave, meanwhile, shoots arrows at Loranna and Raithen, while Milelie casts

Loranna and Falco, both targeting Han-Za, manage to down the
Argonian healer; he collapses and is healed by the arena healers, leaving the
field with a chagrined expresison.
Ghamul, the Orc, was healed by Han-Za but finds himself still in the position
of having a Hunger, an Ogrim, and a Dremora as his enemies; he manages to down
the Hunger and the Dremora is badly beaten up, but the Orc's armor is a mess
and he's rapidly re-taking the damage he just had healed. Even his beserker
rage is starting to run out; he looks ready to fall.
Dilave cries out "Ancestors, protect me!" as Isidor charges her, and
Isidor finds it difficult to land a blow on the archer. However, Isidor makes
it hard for her to target anyone in the far ranks, so she draws a bead on
Isidor and shoots, hoping to slow him down enough for her to seek cover.
Peplin yells "Blast it!" and parries Reichi's blows, but he is
clearly fatigued. Still, he tries his best to fence with the Dunmer, as the
Breton mage guard casts a shield spell on Peplin.
"We're falling apart ..." she mutters.

QUOTE(Loranna @ Aug 13 2005, 01:51 AM)

charges her, and Isidor finds it difficult to land a blow on the archer.
However, Isidor makes it hard for her to target anyone in the far ranks, so she
draws a bead on Isidor and shoots, hoping to slow him down enough for her to
seek cover.
Arrows dead on target were the worst one could face. Dilave, though in hurry
and under heavy assault by Isidor's axe managed to get a clean shot at the
towering Nord's right foot and pinned it to the ground. Crying in dismay and
pain, Isidor took the last step with his good left foot before falling forward,
stretched out his arms and tried to grab any hold of the Dunmeri archer that he
could get, hoping to drag her down with him.
This could be the only chance: pinning her down and hindering her to shoot any
other arrows.
Posted by: Loranna Aug 13 2005, 02:18 AM
Dilave avoids getting pinned, but her leg gets grabbed; she
swings her bow down on his head and tries to get a shot in to finish him off.
Without additional support from Milelie, Peplin is overwhelmed by Reichi's
enahnced blows; he crumples.
Ghamul finally manages to destroy the Hunger, the Dremora, and deal the Ogrim a
mortal blow, but his strngth has given out; he sinks to his knees, then
collopses face first.
Milelie gets lucky and Loranna's paralysis spell is absorbed into her amulet,
but the silence spell still hampers her. She drinks a potion and is able to
speak again, but Peplin has already fallen. Backing away, she casts a cold
spell at Reichi.

a book most of the time, and I write reports. I'm not exactly a mage but I'm
fond of the term 'scholar.' Asides from reading, I know a great deal about
ruins, and I enjoy finding the truth- and myth- behind legends," he told
about himself. He paused and realized he had never spoken so much in his life,
especially about himself. He quickly forgot what else he had on his mind.
"Oh?" Loranna asks, looking over to Walter. "So is that what
brings you to our town, good Walter? Searching for legends?"
She smiles.

Illac Bay, Ocean
As the Frigate bid its farewell from the fine galley, Selvia looked at the

an idea for how to start but not how to finish, or how to adjust to the enemy
regrouping."
"As for protection for our fighters, well ..." Loranna thinks for a
moment. " ... Okay; suppose I started off with a wide-effect Dispel, then
the mages rain magic on the enemy to keep them from firing on the fighters? A
mix of fireblossoms, paralyizes, keep them stuck or off-balance ..."

"Or use Goranthir's nifty little trick," Tris said. "It would
work nicely with everyone on the same side of the arena before they have a
chance to mingle. Knock everyone down, give the fighters time to rush up while
they recover."
He leaned in close to Loranna. "About the organization falling apart at
the end... here's the thing. There are many teams of eight warriors out there.
Can you do that, and then do it again? And again? We need to work on staying
intact, staying fresh."

Loranna closes her eyes. " ... We managed it on Hogithum ..." she
mutters. "Though we had ..."
She nods. "We wore ourselves out; we need to take fatigue into account, be
ready to combat it. Which is what the team alchemist should be doing. And we
need to know the general plan - who to be aiming for at all times. The enemy
healer. Their big damage dealers. Their mages."

Tris laughed.

Tris gave Loranna a taste of the look he was saving for the Summer Princess,
merry but at the same time mocking, a look to make any girl's ambitions wilt.
"I've been wondering," Tris said. "Given a powerful enough
illusionist... can these be enchanted?"

"And no; I'm to deliver the Amulet of Specters to the one who is to

The evening passed on, with other, less weighty, topics to discuss.

Isidor sat on his bed, thinking. He was jealous. Jealous of
whatever Anya and Shaka had.
He laid back in bed, seething.
He thought of Shaka, his friend.
He thought of Anya, his friend.
Could he deal with them being together?
He tried vainly to go to sleep.
What if they went back to Skyrim, and she was remarried, or worse, dead?
What if the child hadn't made it.
What if?

Once Ghamul finished his story, wich had taken over three hours
and the amount of bragging involved rivaled one by Falco himself. Falco excused
himself from the table and left for his room in the casle, with thoughts of
Heroic deeds in his mind.

afraid to head east or north," he answered after a long period of thought
to recollect where it was. He also bid Raithen farewell. Walter glanced around
the room.
OOC: Sorry for the late reply; I had a monster migraine last night and this

Early the next morning as the sun was just rising, the Harvest
Princess made the Walk Of Shame from the castle to her house in the village.
She was angry. That handsome young Dunmer who had come with the Queen Mother's
retinue and stayed on had flirted with her. That in itself was not surprising.
Men and boys flirted with her all the time, even before she was crowned Harvest
Princess. But then, when she had shown interest back, he had ignored her,
deciding instead to spend all his days training and fighting in the Arena.
It was insufferable, and knowing that she had been rejected caused her to lose
interest in her five other lovers.
Last night, she had one of them let her into the castle, into Goranthir's room.
She had waited in the bed for hours to surprise him, and gradually drifted off
to sleep. When she woke up in the morning, she found that he had never come in.
The Harvest Princess tromped back to her house on her pretty feet and plotted
her revenge.

Falco awoke the early next morning refreshed reenergized. He proceeded to the
arena where he began practicing throwing his dagger at ther archery targets. He
liked it early in the morning, when it was still cold and damp, and the others
had not yet arrived. Falco found himself thinking of his old mentor Hulayn.
Falco regretted killing the man.

Goranthir walked in for breakfast the next morning, wearing the
hood and robe he had worn the other night, but he seemed in a good mood.
Razbiah was pleased to see him eat so much of her food.
"Growing boy," she smiled. "Good to see an appetite around
here."

The Night Before
"I know I've been keeping to myself lately," Slyvos had said, with
that look on his face that Loranna adored even as she got exasperated.
"But, there's a reason - you'll see."
Loranna had sighed to herself, not wanting to press the matter; she and Slyvos
had just discussed their still-delayed marriage again, and the fact that she is
a Dibellan and Dibellans do what Dibellans do ...
They hadn't resolved that question; Slyvos still felt a pang of jealousy, no
matter how he tried. Loranna wondered if the issue would ever be truly resolved
...
So right now, she didn't want to push him, but she didn't have much choice.
"I'm sure there is and I look forward to it," she had said to Slyvos,
smiling a bit. "But right now love ... we need you. As an enchanter
especially; a new woman's made us some figurines we're thinking of enchanting
and Tris and I have been discussing making items for the party."
"Ahh ..." Slyvos had said, looking downcast; whether because he was
being asked to rush, or because Loranna mentioned Tris, or a bit of both,
Loranna couldn't quite tell. "Well," he had said a little dejectedly,
"where are these figurines ..."
Loranna had coughed, a slow grin coming to her face. "Hun, we need them
fast, but not immediately; it's late and we've both been rather busy - we have
some catching up to do."
Slyvos's eyes had widened as she pressed closer to him, a purr rumbling in her
throat, and he had said "Oh! Well, that we can work on right now ..."
