The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight

Posted by: Loranna Yesterday, 06:22 AM

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!

'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.

So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.

Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.

Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Kratos looked at Anya with a surprised look under his helm, "And what may I ask is your problem?"

*

"You're arrogant, haughty, self absorbed, and your skills are no better than any of us here. You've time and time again insulted us, barked at us like we're some sort of lap dog. And then you go on and expect us to obey your every command like some sort of lackey since you wear shiny armor." Anya fumed, tired of holding it back.

"Until you've shown me that I can trust you in a fight, or even accept you, since you've proven adpet of belittling and insulting us even, I'll never 'respect' you or give much thought to your orders."

Cyndarius had been up since dawn. Not because of flawless military discipline, but simply because he never had been able to sleep once the sun had risen.

Lieutenant Merey, on the other hand, could've slept until he died of starvation. At any time before noon the poor man looked positively bedraggled.

Both of them, however, were standing near the arena as the sun rose over the dew-soaked hill.

The deep, booming voice of Gruznob could be heard, leading the squad of legionairres in their morning exercises nearby.

Tris smiled a tight smile at Loranna and answered Goranthir in a low voice.

"My stepmother just slapped me for frightening her, which I suppose I deserved. But she also gave me some news. A... friend of mine... has gone missing. I had an interesting night, that's all."

Kratos looked with even more surprise, "Well if this was any other day I would have probably killed you for that but now i'm changed, I won't belittle anyone anymore". He looked away north toward Sadrith Mora, " I am no longer an older version of an Ordinator, I am a new kind of Ordinator the
Temple is dead and now I will start this new breed of Ordinators to protect Vvardenfell." He looked back at Anya, "Does this satisfy your distaste?" But he found she had walked off with Shaka.

Loranna hovers between Kratos and Anya, and Tris and Goranthir, unsure where she's needed more.

She raises her eyebrows at Kratos's response, saying " ... Um, Kratos, no offense but Ald Raathim does already have guards. The sentiment is appreciated though ..."

Posted by: Rhedd Yesterday, 06:40 AM

"Good morning, everyone!" Cyndarius said, cheerfully. "You all certainly look eager!"

Merey mumbled something under his breath, the only word which anyone could catch was [censored].

"Kratos, Sir. If you would be so kind, I'd like you to captain one of the teams, please. Feel free to chose your own teammates."

Tris put his hand on his shoulder.

"If I can't find him, I'm not sure anyone can. I'm good at finding things, that's what's bothering me."

He turned to look at the approaching clouds. A muscle clenched in his jaw.

"You know, I really don't like being hit in the face. No matter how much I deserve it."

"Oh sure, it helps immensely. Especially after you assume you could kill me if this was any other day, oh skilled warrior." Anya huffed and walked off to where Shaka was motioning for her.

QUOTE(syronj @ Aug 14 2005, 10:27 PM)

"Yes, if it's okay."  Shaka walked with her to the boulders at one end of the arena for a moment, for greater privacy.

He looked at her green eyes, the cherry tatoo on one cheek.  "It's not a big deal, just that I'm glad I could give you Mara's Skirt.  And ... I didn't say much at the time, but it meant a lot to me that you still find me a shoulder to lean on.  I know it can be hard to read me sometimes."

He hesitated for a second.  "You probably figured out I'm falling for you, Anya."  Shaka hoped that didn't sound foolish to her.

"We'd better get back."

*

Anya was still upset, and Shaka didn't help with is candid comment. Though she deeply cared for him as well, she was still unsure of her emotions. She just knew that she deeply cared for him as well. She garbbed his hand and gave it a strong squeeze, "Thank you Shaka. I hope you understand."

She walked back with him.

Shaka did understand. "I'll be around this morning for a while, maybe standing with the groundlings," he said. "Take care of yourself today, Anya. Don't let Kratos get to you; he may yet get turned into a human."

Diamond, as Shai, lined up with the rest for the picking.

Marein had wanted to join, but he had no weapons. He wasn't too good without weapons.

Shai looked around the stadium, intensely uncomfortable in Diamond's body. Diamond was more graceful in a delicate princess sort of way, but Shai was used to being graceful as a lithe warrior.

This was going to be messy.

As Anya passed Kratos, she tapped him with the butt of her spear, "You need to see past your own mask. You're just another adventurer here. One among many with the exact some skill level, if not more. I need to not let you rile me up, but if this is what you call respect, I doubt I would have listend to you in the bout anyway."

Anya turned to him, "You sure did get in a tizzy over people respecting your abilities, maybe you should listen to your own words. You couldn't kill any of us anyway. You may be one of a kind, but being special doesn't make you stronger. Tkae off your mask wehn you talk to others about apologies too. When you hide your eyes, you can say anything."

She walked off to the Drunken Guar, angry with herself for getting worked up, though she felt every word she said true. I'm sorry uncle, you'd give me a hard rap on the head if you saw me do what I did.

He looked troubled;  he was trying to find a way out of the situation, but didn't see one.

*

Loranna glares at Tris, then says " ... Remember when in Gemin I said "Tris, let the guy in armor take point?", and you walked through the door to the unknown room first? Little sweet unarmored you, before everybody? Or when in Sharlian's Tower I said "Hey, let's focus our fire on one golem at a time," and people decided to just duke it out on their own? Or the time Tohe and Rodastyr crossed swords and I was demanding they stop fighting and I was wrong because when men choose their battleground, it's not right for me to step in?"

She shakes her head. "I'm used to being the one in the wrong, Tris - and I'm used to biting my tongue and holding back when I know my friends are doing something stupid. I thought the idea was to let people make their own decisions, because we're heroes and not children; now I just feel like I'm the biggest child around."

"And next time you taunt the guy who lost everything and is still having issues dear I'm going to stuff your face someplace where I can pinch your lips shut," she says wearily. " .. .Or maybe just tell you to knock it off directly, instead of hinting at it ..."

"By the Nine, I need a drink," she says, frowning, looking at Tris with contrite eyes. "Let's go take Cyndarius's advice, huh?"

"On the bright side," Goranthir smiled. "He says he’s going to clear out some Daedric shrines, so the countryside should be a little safer thanks to our internal squabbles."

Isidor got up late the next morning and made his way to the arena. When he arrived, no one was there, so he walked to the tavern, to see if his friends were there. "I'm still struggiling to figure that out myself."

Isidor took his mead to a table and sat down, and gestured to Shaka and Anya.

"Now, what's going on with the both of you? You obviously like each other, but you keep beating around the the bush. I mean, I'm ready to go to another province, to find a woman who a) Might be dead, b ) Might be married, c) Might be very pissed that I killed a man and got exiled from Skyrim, but you, you two have everything right in front of you, and you can't see it! What's holding you guys back from loving each other?"

He turns to Anya "Anya, I know you've been hurt before, but so has everyone else, myself and most likely Shaka included. You have to leave the past behind you. You've dealt with it. Shaka cares for you a great deal, and you shouldn't be throwing that away, because of what might happen. You need to stop being "unsure" of your emotions, and make up your mind. If there's one thing I've leaned, it's that love waits for no one."

He turns to Shaka "Shaka, you're probably my best friend here. I see that you love Anya, and you need to act on it. Not just sit on your hands. You both need to see that you have a very good relationship, and that you should stop being so scared."

He sat back, sipped his mead, and waited for their replies.

He thought to himself, Nord bluntness. Got to love it.

He tucked the dagger of silence in the back of his belt as always. Falco noticed that Tsei still had his saber. He smiled a little. Finally, a thief on par with myself. Better hope she doesn't see my knife. Its pretty exensive. He Headed down to the arena, only to find it empty. A passerby told him of the incident with Kratos, and how all the spectaters had had their time wasted. Falco headed to the tavern where he sat alone, and ordered a loaf of fresh bread to eat.

QUOTE(Stargazey @ Aug 15 2005, 12:11 PM)

*

If Shaka hadn't scales, he might have blushed. "That's you all over, Iz," he said. "Right to the point."

"I understand what you're saying, but give it some time. Whatever Anya and I have is like building a house; you don't throw something together hastily, you make sure of the foundation."

He looked over at Anya. A gentleman didn't kiss and tell, so he hoped the Bosmer didn't think Shaka had been spilling his guts to all and sundry.

"Isidor, I hear Loki has a family now. Congratulations."

Anya frowned, and felt her cheeks burn red. Several things crossed her mind, and she opened her mouth to say them, but nothing came out.

Formost in her mind was she doubted many had actually gone through what she had, memories of that bedroom coming back. Love was a foriegn concept to her. And it is very hard to subjugate years upon years of her pushing away. She had gotten to the point where it was a reflex. She also thought what right gave him to speak to her like that, about something he didn't understand about her. But she also knew he was right.

It's just that she was trying. No one had seen her pull Shaka close in the halfway though.

She responded with a simple, "I know..." wondering what was wrong with her.

Shaka's hazel eyes were steady on hers, almost as if he could read some of her thoughts, though he couldn't. Part of it was her scent telling him of her embarrassment, and the feeling of having her back to the wall, even if Isidor was a friend.

I wish I could reach out and hug you now, Shaka thought. I do love you, and it's without conditions, but I'm not going to push you until you're ready.

Shaka said, "It's all right, Anya," though he knew nothing was that simple for her, and tried to change the subject.

Kratos got up and walked outside to breath in the fresh air, "If they do not like me for my attitude that is their problem, I tried but no one wants to give me a second chance and that's all I could take." He stood there and looked back as everyone stared at him, "I say something about rats crawling on my feet and I get shunned for it!" He approached a guard and began to taunt him to cause a fight, "You will spar with me now or you can stay as cowardly as a scamp, your choice." The guard pulled out his sword and lunged at Kratos, he side stepped and let the guard hit the wall.

After the guard had recovered he got up and ran at Kratos' turned back, he turned around and used his shield to send the guard flying over his head and crashing into Diamond's art shop. "I think you've had enough "scum", he knew that word he had said it before.

Kratos returned to the tavern and sat back down alone at his cold dark table.

Last Night

QUOTE(Stargazey @ Aug 15 2005, 08:49 AM)

Last Night
Loki tried to lead the pair out behind the castle, where they would find another wolf, slightly smaller then Loki, and then four small pups.

Loki looked proud, and howled into the night.

*

Understanding the wolf, Goranthir brought blankets and some food and water for the exhausted new mother out with them.

"You should be proud, Loki," the young ranger said the wolf in his own language. "You have a very fine family."

Falco watched the battle from the tavern window. He quikly finished his bread. I hate guards as much as the next guy but that fight was pointless. 'm getting tired of his attitude. Time to teach him a lesson in civility.

Diamond sat in the shop working on the Dreugh.

Abruptly she stopped. Something was bothering her...but what? Why did you run away, Diamond? She had wanted to be alone...right? Wanted to be away from her life...but alone? Was that what she had come for?

No, no...it couldn't be.

She was lonely.

Leaving the partially-completed sculpture on the work surface, she went over to the tavern and decided that she was ready to have a friend.

Anya laughed. "Falco, you're too fast for him, let it be. I tried to give him a chance, but he expects everyone to change instantly. I'm about ready to splash my drink in his face for that scuffle, but I don't want to waste my drink. How such a immature brat become the captain of the Ordinators, I'll never know."

She took a drink, "Kratos, I don't mind stubborn people in the least, but you take it too far. When you're ready to act as part of a team, maturely, then I'll give you a third chance."

"Yes he did," She raised her voice so Falco could hear, smiling coyly, "How uncharacteristically smart of him."

She looked at Diamond, "So, do you have any idea what you plan to do here, aside from opening a nice shop?"

Reichi had smirked at that comment. You don't know the meaning of not having control...

Kratos drowned it all out all he could hear was the voice telling him to attack to kill, after being hit by the magicka he should have been incapacitated but he got up and slowly began to inch toward Falco, he was hit with another volley of magicka and that was it he was out cold.

"How anti-climatic..." Reichi muttered and sighed. "Oh well."

"Don't learn battle techiniques unless you have to. Learning self-defense everyone should do. But the art of killing anohter person isn't glamorous, no matter how pretty legions and garuds make it seem. You lose a certian warmth in your heart when you learn to coldy take someone's life for a living." She downed the last of her mug.

"Now, learning is easy. It's just a matter o finding a weapon or style that suits you. Granted some people have a knack for it, but anyone can learn to use a weapon, be it fists or a sword."

Anya looked at the girl, She can't be much older than Goranthir. "A small bit useful. Now don't be silly. One thing I've learned is not everyone should learn to be an adventurer. Those figurines are very well crafted. And it brings joy to people. What would we do if we came back and there wasn't anything to admire, to know there was worth saving. I, we, fight because of people like you. Not only for your talents, but for you. I fight knowing that those who can't will be safe. And know I fight knowing that I can keep a talented girl like you safe."

"My point is that just because you don't kill people for a living, doesn't mean you aren't useful, not in the least. You're support before, and after. Your caring, untouched by the horrors of death and dealing it. Your artwork and the beauty it brings, it's all just as useful, if not more, as people that know how to fight a defend. It would be a pointless endeavor for us both if we didn't have each other. Saying you're not useful is the absurd musings of a lonely girl."

"Now, I can teach a thing or two about self-defense, if you feel the need to know a little bit. You're build, from the looks of it, you'd make a good fighter with a dagger, and quick stabs."

Falco awoke from his sleep in the chair, with Tsei next to him. He stood up and cringed from back pains. Note to self: sleep on the floor next time. He pulled on his cloak and ha.t.

*

"Yes, but as I said, love does not way forever."
"And thank you, I am pleased."

QUOTE(Xyber02 @ Aug 15 2005, 01:26 PM)

Inside the jail, after some discussion, the door to Kratos's cell was opened; Peplin and Relamus stepped in in and went to grab the sleeping Ordinator by his arms, while Ghamul balls his hand into a fist, ready to give Kratos a little tap to wake him - in the jaw.

Loranna and the others arrive just as Ghamul is saying "Now hold him steady ..."

"There's no need for that," Arynel interjected, "I will wake him."

Arynel cautiously reached out and placed a hand on Kratos’s shoulder, and looked into his eyes.

“Who are you?” The Breton asked.

Isidor looked at the Orc holding up Kratos and said as an aside to Anya and Radnot "That's a great way to deal with his problems...beat the guar dung out of him." Isidor rolled his eyes.

Kratos woke just before he was hit with the Orc's fist and he pulled the guard holding his left arm in the way of the punch then kicked the other forward sending them into a pile up. "Whats going on here?!!" Kratos said shocked, "The voice ahh the voice!!" Kratos fell to his knees and held his head.

"Ghamul." Dram's voice lost the baritone quality that made it slightly less gravely than most Dunmer males's voices.

"After everything we've put up with for this pup ..." Ghamul protests.

"Ghamul!" The Orc blinks, staring at Dram, then Loranna; slowly his fist drops.

OOC: Due to a misunderstanding, Kratos's throwing down of the guards and punch to the jaw by Ghamul did not actually happen previously.

Goranthir walked down the main street of the village of Ald Raathim, until he came to the Mages Guild. He stepped inside and went directly to the enchanter.

“I just finished,” he said, proudly holding up the work. “Who was the tailor? Uenas Ayrrhe?”

Goranthir nodded. “Ald Raathim is fortunate in having at least one truly excellent tailor, and one excellent enchanter.”

The enchanter smiled. “But what happened at the arena today? We were anticipating –“

“Some technical malfunctions,” Goranthir shrugged. “Wait ‘til you see the next one. All the gratuitious violence you can take.”

“I can take a lot,” laughed the enchanter.

Fernando Illingworth was feeling tired and petulant. The incompetent guild apprentice had given him bad directions. He didn't know why people always had such difficulty giving clear instructions how to get from where he was to where he wanted to be. Recalling from the middle of thick woods in Morrowind to his mark halfway across the continent had taken more energy than he'd wanted to use. At least he'd slepth the night in his own comfortably luxurious bed. He rose rather late and began again the ardous sequence of guild transports that took him back to Ald Raathim.

This time, he'd introduced himself to the guild steward and explained, with trimmings, his rank in the guild and the importance of his visit. The steward had sent a journeyman with him as guide to find the lady Dres Loranna, and the search ended at the jail. He decided it would save time to demonstrate his skill even before the introduction, so he went invisible and slipped past the guards at the entrance, dispatching of the locked doors with practiced ease, using his mastery of alteration and chameleon, until he came upon the group.

"Hail!" he called, a little too loudly for the short distance seperating him from the ears of the group.

"I am Fernando Illingworth, Master Wizard of the Mages guild and reknowned illusionist. I have come answering a call for the most skilled trainers available in the schools of restoration and illusion. I may as well have been called by name. Do I have the pleasure of addressing the Lady Dres Loranna?"

"Very well. "Smitten? With me?" Isidor laughed, a wry laugh.

"Aw, but you're such a lovable Nord. With your square jaw, and weathered look. And... and... and the way you swing your axe, yeah. What lass wouldn't swoon at the sight of you?"

"It's all right, Anya. I don't know too many women who find drunken nords attractive." He winked and walked away.

*

"You'll be wanting the lady bent over this oaf inside." Anya called out, "We're just spectators." She showed him to where Loranna was working on Kratos.

"Maybe we can get him back to his people and settle this, Anya," said Shaka. "He means well, but I'm sorry for us discussing you as if you're not here."

Loranna sits in Kratos's cell, over the protests of her guards, tending to the unconscious Ordinator even though she's reached the limit of what her magic can do. Still though, she stays, watching his condition until she feels sure he's not going to get worse.

I don't even know, she thinks to herself, whether I'm more hoping to find out you've been under some malign influence all along dear or if you're trying to make some flimsy case for us not beating the tar out of you. Dibella, you might still be irate and ornery even if it turns out you are being made to act this way ...

She pauses, looking at Kratos for a moment, then closing her eyes.

... I almost don't want to forgive you ...

... No; that's my anger talking. Forgiveness is a beautiful thing, a precious gift that should not be squandered. I know that better than some.

She feels tears drip down her cheeks as she opens her eyes.

... By the Three, let this be an ordeal you are almost done with, Kratos, she breathes, wiping her eyes and returning to her ministrations for now.

"Thank you young lady" Fernando says as he looks in on the Lady tending to the fallen Ordinator. He feels vaguely uncomfortable with the situation, unsure of himself. Not a sensation he is used. He hangs back, unsure whether or not he should announce his presence and thus interupt the strange scene.

After a moment, Loranna notices Fernando's presence and looks up; the silver tearstreaks under her eyes catch the light, giving her a diffusely ethereal, sorrowful look.

" ... Excuse me," she says, wiping her face on a hankerchief; she waves her hand and the cell door opens, and she steps out, the cell door closing and locking behind her.

"Hello; I am Dres Loranna; do you need to see me?" she asks; in the light outside the cell, her face looks less diffuse, more just beautiful than ethereal.

Allerleirauh's journal, date uncertain:

Here in this stillquiet readiness I can see the shape of time - exact, like an egg - and cracking. If it were not for what we bring with us, all would be peaceful here.

So, you have trouble creating the chimera, this thing of wings and hooves and paws and claws, antlers, horns, tusks and tail? Know this:

Nothing remains of us but story.

Is your armor part of your story? Or, perhaps, your hair? Bring it with you. You will find the truth beyond all spheres not so different as to disallow it. A purchased weapon, or a found one, is part of someone else's story. It will not serve you here. Yet you will find no shortage of gear; the crafters of the dead work to the highest standards. In the antechambers of the soul, when you don flesh, select all you desire.

Vehk sought, once, to become all he desired, through the medium of the Heart. He thought thus to escape his guilt. Yet he could not, in the end, escape his desire, that made him as he is. His self he brought with him; encased in amber, for all eternity, until Mercy set him free. You will find your choices are more limited, and more boundless, than you might have imagined.

Skills and spells will not be forgotten. Indeed, if you were born before, you may remember more than you intended. Tactics survive the transition best, tactics and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships.

You are eight: eight spheres, eight gates, at each one of which you sacrifice. Fewer than eight cannot pass the gates alive. More than eight are not permitted. With eight you will have enough to come and enough to return. Enough, but no more; do not squander.

I could, if it lay within my power, teach you all to travel as I do, to come here directly, as birds fly to their nests or the sun to its west. Though you doubt me, know that the path by which I send you is easier. Do I seem cold or distant? I would not inflict such sundering on any virgin soul. If you cannot grasp my meaning, observe the cautionary tale of the Tribunal, who also grasped power before the time.

To practical matters:

There are indeed beasts native to the plains of the dead. Cozen them if you can. Beasts that serve you in the land of the living may choose to answer you here, if they are first slain. Mark well the cost, and consider.

Those who can call spirits in the waking world will find that they can call here, and something will come. I cannot say what.

Like a tree, or a sword, or a mountain, the spheres, as you know, form a tower. Arynel prepares for you a ladder.

I cannot tell you of the summit, the ninth plain (sic), the final battlefield, the cauldrons of rebirth.

You will have a guide. You will be able to dress yourselves first, in new flesh, if you so desire, or your old flesh can serve. Bring with you what Nalion will give to you.

The spirits who fight here are those who refuse to surrender their selves and pass into the places of rest. They fight, not with the fervor of those who fight for their lives, but with the fervor of those who have no lives and desire them. They cannot be killed, only vanquished, and they will never cease their fighting. But as long as any of you live, you can carry the battle to them, and you only need to win once. Then you can pass into the Hero's Rest, the place where the sun sleeps, Solunastra.

I mentioned at the first that I can see the egg. The father is angry that his son is assaulted. When the Dragon stirs and shakes, all we have been and done will be lost as if it had never been. Already Nalion's task is harder because of the trembling. Come to me. Make all things solid. For all our sakes.

"Forgive me my Lady, I should not have intruded. I'd thought it a harmless means of demonstrating my skill, but I see now I was mistaken. I am Fernando Illingworth, Master Wizard of the Mages Guild. I came because you sent out a call for the finest trainers. I assure you, my skills in restoration and illusion are as complete as my timing is bad. The patient: How is he?"

"I've said that, but I think a part of him doesn't want to go back." Anya started walking towards Loranna and Ferdando, "I just don't want this to become a thing of possession between you two. I know Isidor likes me as much as you, and I know he's trying to see us happy, but I wonder how much it hurts him."

Shaka didn't know if she could hear, but he said to himself: "It's impossible for him to feel the same as I do. As I did, when you first clung to my shoulder."

PLaas felt weird adn very out of place. How did they manage to cut him out of the conversation before he ever went in it? As Plaas could see they were in deep conversation, he didn't dare to interrupt. He was a good fighter, but against overwhelming odds and in the open? No. "I have just come to offer my allegiance." He interruppted after seeing that they had completely forgotten about him. "I have realized how stupid I was, and I want to repay you."

"Ah," Loranna says, her face brightening a little. "Master Illingworth, a pleasure to meet you, and thank you for answering my request," she says, offering him her hand.

"The patient ... he slumbers now; his condition is not one magic can easily heal," she says, her tone becoming more serious. "But for the moment he is resting; let us not disturb him."

She leads Fernando out, continuing. "We have several in town who, I hope, will be able to benefit from your teachings, Master Illingsworth. Have you but recently arrived? We shall see to your accomodations forthwith, and hopefully speak to those who will be seeking your consuel."
