Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Loranna Yesterday, 01:15 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the
player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna, Female Nord: Loranna is in Ald Raathim's jail, having
recently been informed of Kratos's angry attacks on her guards and Falco
Redflash, and having just witnessed Kratos's collapse. Suspecting something
more at work in the troubled Ordinator, she has tended to him as best she can,
and is now meeting with Fernando the master Wizard, one of the trainers she has
called to Ald Raathim.

Reichi's off lounging about near the Arena...while important type stuff
happens....

ooc summary: Tris, a young male Breton, is chatting with
Goranthir about fashion. In the last installment he told his stepmother he
couldn't sleep with her anymore because he was in love with someone else. Geez,
what a life.
A letter for Loranna arrived from Allerleirauh, General Light, detailing what
the group will face in the Outer Realms.
And since Moonblink is out of town, she's asked me to keep track of Luxi,
Ahjaar's 12 year old daughter. Luxi has been told she can eat in the tavern;
the bill is pre-paid. But I bet she's starting to get lonely.

Summary for Fernando Illingworth, portly Breton illusionist: He
just met Lady Loranna and is currently speaking with her while walking away
from the jail
IC: "Thank you for your hospitality. If I may inquire, why do you have
such an urgent need of trainers? Typically for a sudden need one calls for
those who have the needed skill already, which is faster and more reliable than
training up healers and mages. Your call also suggested there was a certain
time pressure. What is the nature of your need? Are there specific individuals
who can not be replaced that must learn new skills rapidly?"

"Ah, the most often-asked question," Loranna says. "Right, to
summarize briefly; a group of heroes must face arena style combat soon against
powerful ghosts, in an effort to right the problem which causes the restless
dead to seek the living. Trust and teamwork are of utmost importance, for these
heroes must face trials as yet not fully-understood, but also importantly, they
must be as fully-prepared as they can. I have called for the best trainers
around to aid those who will be undertaking this journey - trainers such as

"Umm... right then. This is certaily a unique job. I'll do my best to
train everyone as quickly as possible. Might I suggest that enchanted items, if
you have the resources, may be worth considering? They can mimic the abilities
of decades of training. A commoner can be a powerful mage, or a warrior a
battlemage and healer. By the way, is there anywhere to get a good meal in your
domain? I do enjoy roughing it away from the refinements of established
culture, but I do miss the cuisine. No offense, my Lady."

"We're working on getting magic items to help out as well," Loranna
says with a smile. "Though of course, there is really no sustitute for
knowing the spell oneself, at least to me ..."
"As for food, we have the Drunken Guar, our tavern; let me take you there
now. It would also be a good way to introduce you to people," Loranna
says, heading out of the jail and leading Fernando to the tavern.

OOC: Isidor, male nord, is
sitting in the tavern.
IC: As he sat in the tavern, he thought about Skyrim. He missed it.
Isidor hadn't talked to many nords in Ald Ratthim, save Loranna...Loranna had
mentioned Nords that lived near Ald Ratthim. A settlement. Perhaps he'd visit
them. He stood up right away, and exited the tavern. She had mentioned they
lived in the foothills to the west Ald Ratthim.
He made his way west of the town, and made his way through the foothills. He
made his way to the top of a crest, and saw a splendid village, in classic
Nordic style. Small stone huts with thatched roofs sat everywhere, and a stable
stood to the left. Straight in front of him, a great hall, with a roff that
seemed to be an upside-down longship hull. He smirked, and walked foward, and
entered the great hall, his axe slung over his back, and his shirt sleeve
pulled up, revealing the mark emblazened his arm. He thought, If they're going
to find out, they'll find out now.

Tsei, in the jail, waiting for the others to leave so he can give the ordinator
a good kick.
IC: "Sure thing, Tsei, I'll buy." He looked at his gold supplies as
they headed to the tavern, already alf-empty. I'll have to bolster my supply

Strangers came and went like horseflies through Ald Raathim. They knew if
anything interesting was going on, it would be heard at dinner.
Being summer, the fire in the Great Hall was kept low, and the huge men
lounging around it were shirtless.
There were no guards, no sentries. Most would consider a room full of relaxing
Nord warriors to be secure enough without such things.
"And then it bit him, right where he'd remember it best!" came a loud
voice from beyond the fire, followed by an uproar of laughter.
An older man, with a beard like braided straw, noticed Isador's entrance and
stood. "Hail, stranger! Welcome to the Hall of Aricyn. What be your name
and business?"
The man extended a scarred hand to Isador.

Loranna sighs, shaking her head. "Plaas, loyalty isn't born of oaths
alone," she says. "None of the people questing with me have sworn any
oaths of fealty; we are companions, fellow adventurers, friends. We form bonds
of camaraderie, of shared suffering and labor."
"If you want to adventure with us someday, that's fine; we welcome new
faces," she continues. "But I have no desire to require an oath of
you; I would much rather see you join us as an equal, and form the bonds we
share among ourselves over time."

Isidor sat down, and began to speak.
"My family lived in a small village, south of Dawnstar, near Stonehills.
My father was the chief of the tribe there. He was a good man, but he was very
strict. There was a man in the tribe, named Striter the Obvious."
"He didn't like my father, or the way he ruled. He and my father were
always at loggerheads, about something. Where we got our water from, what we
did about the wolves around our village, and the behavior of myself and my
brother."
"One day, after a celebration for a birthday, Striter and his friends got
drunk. I was out with a female friend of mine in the woods. Someone s went in
to my house.." Isidor stopped for a moment, then continued "and they
killed my family. My little sister, my brother, my father and my mother."
"My family was unrecognizeable, when I returned. My father's eyes had been
gouged out, and stuck into my mother's mouth. My brother had been brutally
dismembered, and his limbs had been hung from the ceiling. My mother had
been...violated, before she died. I came back to the house, saw what had been
done, and knew that Striter had done this. Very calmly, I picked up my father's
axe, walked over to his shack, and cut him in two."
"No one believed me that Striter had killed my family, no matter what I
said. The council of Elders punished me, branded a mark on my arm, and told me
that I was to never return to Skyrim, under penalty of death."
"Satisfied?"

Loranna had stayed in the tavern for but a short while, wetting
her throat; she hadn't wanted to intrude on Tsei and Falco, and Plaas had
sooned found the wonders of the cuisine tempting, and there were things she
still needed to do. Fernando was settling in, it seemed; she should go check on
Kratos, then Slyvos, look for Cyndarius to talk to him ...
The Ordinator was still resting; Loranna noted Dram seemed unusually
tight-lipped but she did not press the matter right now; he simply said he
would speak with her on the morrow. She went back to the castle to look for
Slyvos.
And, while she was looking, she checking in on her usual day to day affairs.
And while she was doing that ... she found a letter.
She sat down, and read the letter once, blinking. then, she read the letter
twice, her fingers trembling slightly. Then, just to be sure, she read the
letter a third time, and her eyes grew moist and she lifted the letter to her
lips and kissed it softly.
And then, she got up, intent on finding her companions. Any and all of them.
The General had spoken and her words had to be heard.

QUOTE(Stargazey @ Aug 15 2005, 06:53 PM)
Helgi and the rest had been dead quite. The only iterruptions to Isador's tale
being the crackling of the fire and the occasional neighing of a horse.
"Understand," said Helgi, his pale cheeks red in the firelight,
"that I am not Chief here, and only stand in his absence. We have heard
your tale, and you were honorable in your telling. But as I am not chief, I
must discuss this with others here.
"It is customary, of course, for you to be refused entrance to the village
until we have made our decision, but Chief Aricyn has said that we are a part
of Ald Raathim, and so we are. So, as you are welcome there, you are welcome to
remain here. At least until we have made our decision."

" ... It seems as far as items go, we won't be bringing our gear with us -
at least, unless it's ... special," she says by way of introduction, leading
people to the center of the arena. "Here; let me read ..."
QUOTE
Here in this stillquiet readiness I can see the shape of time -
exact, like an egg - and cracking. If it were not for what we bring with us,
all would be peaceful here.
So, you have trouble creating the chimera, this thing of wings and hooves and
paws and claws, antlers, horns, tusks and tail? Know this:
Nothing remains of us but story.
Is your armor part of your story? Or, perhaps, your hair? Bring it with you.
You will find the truth beyond all spheres not so different as to disallow it.
A purchased weapon, or a found one, is part of someone else's story. It will
not serve you here. Yet you will find no shortage of gear; the crafters of the
dead work to the highest standards. In the antechambers of the soul, when you
don flesh, select all you desire.
Vehk sought, once, to become all he desired, through the medium of the Heart.
He thought thus to escape his guilt. Yet he could not, in the end, escape his
desire, that made him as he is. His self he brought with him; encased in amber,
for all eternity, until Mercy set him free. You will find your choices are more
limited, and more boundless, than you might have imagined.
Skills and spells will not be forgotten. Indeed, if you were born before, you
may remember more than you intended. Tactics survive the transition best,
tactics and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships.
You are eight: eight spheres, eight gates, at each one of which you sacrifice.
Fewer than eight cannot pass the gates alive. More than eight are not
permitted. With eight you will have enough to come and enough to return.
Enough, but no more; do not squander.
I could, if it lay within my power, teach you all to travel as I do, to come
here directly, as birds fly to their nests or the sun to its west. Though you
doubt me, know that the path by which I send you is easier. Do I seem cold or
distant? I would not inflict such sundering on any virgin soul. If you cannot
grasp my meaning, observe the cautionary tale of the Tribunal, who also grasped
power before the time.
To practical matters:
There are indeed beasts native to the plains of the dead. Cozen them if you
can. Beasts that serve you in the land of the living may choose to answer you
here, if they are first slain. Mark well the cost, and consider.
Those who can call spirits in the waking world will find that they can call
here, and something will come. I cannot say what.
Like a tree, or a sword, or a mountain, the spheres, as you know, form a tower.
Arynel prepares for you a ladder.
I cannot tell you of the summit, the ninth plain (sic), the final battlefield,
the cauldrons of rebirth.
You will have a guide. You will be able to dress yourselves first, in new
flesh, if you so desire, or your old flesh can serve. Bring with you what
Nalion will give to you.
The spirits who fight here are those who refuse to surrender their selves and
pass into the places of rest. They fight, not with the fervor of those who
fight for their lives, but with the fervor of those who have no lives and
desire them. They cannot be killed, only vanquished, and they will never cease
their fighting. But as long as any of you live, you can carry the battle to
them, and you only need to win once. Then you can pass into the Hero's Rest,
the place where the sun sleeps, Solunastra.
I mentioned at the first that I can see the egg. The father is angry that his
son is assaulted. When the Dragon stirs and shakes, all we have been and done
will be lost as if it had never been. Already Nalion's task is harder because
of the trembling. Come to me. Make all things solid. For all our sakes.

"What about me? If I go, do Diamond and Marein come with me? Am I already
dead? Do we count as three or one? Or none at all? If I am dead, do we have to
send a body at all should I go?"
She stops laughing, looking at Diamond with a confused expression.
"Honestly dear ... I don't know how that would work ... I still don't know
if we're meant to be ghosts; I don't think that's the intent, though."

Shaka was quiet as he too puzzled over Allerleirauh's words. He mused aloud:
"I know we've already talked the letter over, but I wonder if the Spear
qualifies as something I can take along. The Dragonbone Cuirass doesn't, as I

Am I more than the wielder of the Spear? he wondered to himself. Shaka liked to
think so. Maybe he would have the chance to find out.
He had heard of the concept of reincarnation, but like an afterlife, he wasn't
sure what to believe in. The ghosts he had encountered in his life had been
pathetic fragments of the living beings they had once been, not much more than
a hate given temporary unlife.
Shaka didn't feel doubt this day with his friends, just a further mystery to

Kratos' voice began to change to a deep, loud tone and his eyes had begun to
glow brighter than the normal red, "You will not take me out until I have
dealt with him!, I will take his life as he has taken mine!"
The possesed Kratos stood up and clenched his fist preparing to swing at
Cyndarius but the blow was suddenly stopped inches from his face and pulled
back, "No Ralen I will not let you harm anyone now listen to reason, you
murdered her you had to submit to Tribunal law you should know that as an
Ordinator!" The tone quickly changed back to evil and demonic sounding,
"You had no right to take my life, I had killed her by accident, you will
pay for your misdoing!"
Kratos fought back again, "Ralen you were standing over her with a bloody
mace you knew what you did and you knew what the penalty for murder is amongst
Ordinators!" the voice seemed to stop for a second then immediatly Kratos
was thrown back into the cell wall as if he had been hit with a volley of air,
"You will pay for your deeds Captain Kratos!!" Kratos hit the floor
and tried to recover from the force of the invisible blow.
He heard Cyndarius' words echo in his mind and began to repeat them, "Come
out now!", Come out now!" He felt a force beginning to separate from
his conscience and then completly dissapear. Kratos fell to the floor panting,
"Thank you Cyndarius I think I owe you an explanation." He got up and
approached him, "But first, what is to happen to me for the crimes I have
commited?"

Nighttime:
Diamond began to sculpt Kynareth, lost in her own thoughts. After a little
while, she went outside onto the roof to admire the stars.
They really were beautiful, she thought, and so incredible, too. She wondered
what it would be like to be one of those pricks of light in the night sky.
Things like this gave her inspiration. This was why she loved art.
Hopping down from the roof, she walked barefoot on the grass and the paths,
feeling nature crunching beneath her toes. Pleased, she walked for nearly an
hour, alone with her thoughts (her friends giving her solitude), to a creek,
near the castle, around town, and finally back to the shop, her new home.
It really was a beautiful world.
Anya was right, she thought, this is where I belong...

Kethiah had searched all the Spymaster Herwyn Brand's usual haunts, asking
questions, following more leads, but she was stymied. And Elysana wanted daily
progress. It was astonishing that a woman whose empire spanned half of High
Rock would have time for such meetings, but Kethiah supposed that a Spymaster
was an important minister for such as her.
The idea that some other power might have him, and be torturing him for
information alarmed Elysana ... though curiously enough, the Queen was not
worried that Herwyn would divulge anything. 'He has stood up to torture
before,' the Queen had said, with something like fondness in her eyes.
Kethiah began a search of Herwyn's archives, the personal projects he was
working on. Orsinium figured highly. That would have to be thoroughly scoured.
And there was the matter of Tris Gaerington, a search that Herwyn had never
trusted any of his subordinates to do.
For most of her career, Kethiah has searched out people about whom there was
little information, to try to find a tenuous trail to them. Here was a man with
multiple well-worn, well-documented trails. And she would have to search it
all.

saw a blur flash by, "he is not finished yet, he will be back."

the recent increase in the legions of the dead and our upcoming quest and I
wonder to myself was this a deliberate attack, did someone send him to find me
and torment me, but maybe I am just being paranoid."

The Void:
Herwyn Brand was cold. Not that invigorating, cold winter day sort of cold, but
the bone-aching, sick, unbearable sort.
Sometimes he screamed, just for the noise.
His magical ring was keeping him alive without food, awake without sleep, but
the black circles under his eyes testified to the pleasantness of that method
of living.
He liked to feel the lint in his pockets. It was so real.
He had taken a carriage to Alcaire many times. He tried to remember how it was
then. The sun on the grass... The passing oxcarts of the farmers.
He didn't remember it being this long a journey.

He had just come from Firewatch in the north, where her majesty Barenziah had
gone after leaving Necrom. Taking a little taste of Daruhn with him for her,
fresh scented herbs from Jazbet's garden, the very ones he had watched her
pruning with her long, graceful, powerful fingertips. No point in trying to
impress a queen with expensive gifts.
Right now, despite doom and gloom and portentious letters from the General,

There was so much to see. Wrecked craft that were undoubtedly left by the
Azurites in the Blue Dawn, much older shipwrecks from the Nords that had been
there ... and there was something else. A ship of a design he had never seen.
He couldn't see much of it, buried in the silt, but ...
He didn't want to hope. It was too romantic to imagine it was an Akaviri craft,
but it did appear to be so ...
As he surveyed it, he saw some rhythms in the water around him. He spoke to the
fish, who were stupid as usual, but told him that there was someone else on the

Goranthir swam up, and first saw the legs, and then, realizing that the swimmer

grabbing Tris under his arms and pulling him towards shore. "It was bad at
first, and then I just relaxed. I was testing out the new enchantments in
my belt, which should help me breath in fire, ash, and underwater … But I can
hold my breath for a long time on my own. It’s like sailing, one of the
things that those of us on the Island are just expected to do."
Tris laughed again, letting himself be towed, pleasantly aware of Goranthir's
proximity, trying not to be too aware.
"The Iliac isn't really a place people swim," he said. "The
water's nasty, at least near the ports of the big cities, which is where I grew
up.
"I wish I remembered more... fire, dust, and ice, did I say? It's all like
a dream to me. In fact I remember more of it asleep than I do awake."

Goranthir was silent, thinking, and picked Tris up to carry him on to the
beach, before putting him down with a laugh "I’m sorry, you have it from
here." He took off his cloak, which was suddenly, at a touch, dry, and
handed it to him.

Crazy boy, Tris started to say, laughing, but the cloak distracted him.
"Oh, very nice trick," he said. "Teach me that one some time;
I'm always cold and wet and being rained on."
Under most circumstances he was barely aware of his own nakedness; serving
Dibella did not encourage modesty. But suddenly he was aware that he was
standing in light crisp and cool and almost bright enough to see colors by;
suddenly aware that the scars on his shoulder, on his chest, which had made him
feel older than his age, like a tomcat with torn ears, were gone now; aware
that he had two feet, and two strong legs, and all in a condition that pleased
him, for the first time since... almost a year ago. He found himself blushing,
fumbling with the cloak, drying his face.

Goranthir looked away. The Altmer he had grown up with were not very modest.
Not like the Dunmer, and evidently, judgin by Tris, not like the Bretons. But
he could respect that. It was interesting to look at bodies without their
clothes, with all the artifices taken away. You could see how strong someone
was. Whether they ate well. If they had been injured. Tris had, Goranthir could
see, before he turned.
"What if I am not chosen for the Eight?" he said, suddenly, looking

Tris, not caring if he didn’t want him to look.

"It's a long story," Tris said, placing Goranthir's hand against the

"I know about that," Goranthir said, nodding his head. Somehow it was
more real touching the sign of the wound. What was amazing about it was its
warmth. Tris’s blood still beat through it. It was a sign of survival. The
adventurer’s life that he craved. "I was working for my uncle. I was
actually in Black Marsh behind you, trying to get to the Flamekiss first … but
I failed. I do have a scar to prove it."
He pulled up his tunic. A gash, expertly sewed, went from his belly down below
his waist at the thigh. A claw mark of one of the bestial Argonian races, the
Naga.

"We knew there were others there," Tris said. "Others who

Goranthir was beginning the walk up to the castle when Tris spoke. He turned

Now, in the moonlight, the Breton’s naked pale skin looked even paler. The
scars looked fresh.
Goranthir carried down the robe, and wrapped it around his friend. "I

The Lord and Lady of Moonguard, High Rock, arrived in the
Capital City with their guards, tracking their lost daughter. They waited as
their guards scoured the city, searching for traces. Finally, one came back
with a sloppy, greasy, portly drunk in tow.
The Lady wrinkled her nose in disgust. Had her daughter been consorting with
low-lifes like this?
Her husband spoke to the man before them. "You. You have seen my daughter
Diamond? I command you to tell me what you know."
The man stared owlishly back. "You don't speak to me like that," he
growled.
The Lord waved his hands frantically. "I am the Lord of Moonguard in High
Rock! The Lord!"
The man blinked, unimpressed, and spat to the side.
The Lady was revolted. She wasn't going to grace this slob with payment. The
Lord seemed to disagree, for he threw a few coins at the man's feet.
"I saw a girl," he said. "With a Bosmer man, around thirty -
" The Lady squealed, scandalized - "Blonde, about this tall, looked
like a short Nord. Dunno if she was a Nord, though, if you're from High Rock.
They said they were running away together - " The Lady screamed again -
"to live in Valenwood, or something like that. The Bosmer called himself
Feldole, I remember. The girl's name was Pearl."
The guard swore. "I think this may mean they are in disguise,
Milady."
The Lord waved his hand, arrogant as ever. "We scour Valenwood!" he
commanded. "Come!"
The small entourage trooped off.

Plaas awoke in bed. It was morning from what he could see.
Yesterday had been full of events. He had finally shown himself to Loranna.
Plaas pushed himself of his bed, his stomach growled with an overwhelming
fierceness. Then he walked out the door. Maybe there was something to eat in
the castle. AS he entered the dining hall. He saw Shaka, Isidor and Reichi
already eating. Grudgingly, he took the seat farthest away from them he could
find. He did want to talk to them right now. It was too early for a hostile
argument. Then, Plaas started to eat.

Anya was bored.
Archery and marksmanship had lost their charm over the repetive exercises she
did. And there wasn't anyone to spar with. So she decided to practice her more
enjoyable abilities. She went to the local goods shop.
She had climbed to the roof of the building next to it, thankful that the store
was two stories. A quick leap and she was grappling on a window sill. Cracking
it open, she slipped in and walked the rafters on all fours, with cat-like
agility.
Spying two chests on top of shelves, she slipped over. Hooking her legs, she
swung down head first and quickly picked the locks. Pocketing the contents of
the two small chests, which consisted of a few precious bobbles and some loafs
of sweet bread, she pulled herself back up and exited out of the window.
Smiling, she munched on the sweet bread, and fingered the minor jewels, feeling
better and slightly giddy. I need to do this a bit more often, I forgot what
it was like. Dram wont be too happy, but what he doesn't know, doesn't hurt
him. She headed off to the dining hall to get a real breakfast.

Ald Raathim, Marend's General Store
Noldyne Marend was crying.
"I tell you, they're gone! I can't be mistaken about it. I had the rolls
for breakfast in the box right next to them, and those are gone too! What sort
of demon would steal our breakfast? My grandmother's ring, in our family for so
many years, and my mother's brooch, gone too. And the worst part is it could be
any of our neighbors, how can I look people in the face, knowing one of them
did this? Ald Raathim used to be a nice small town. Now with all these people,
I guess it's just like every other big city where people steal the shirt off
your back."
Her husband, Gadali Marend, patted her sympathetically. "Well, we knew it
was 'the home of the thief' when we moved here. Ow! Don't hit me, I was only
making a joke to lighten the mood."
"I don't want my mood lightened," his wife sobbed.
Later that day, Gadali made a report to the guards.

will be unable to participate in the arena bout today. I will, however, be able
to offer strategical advice after the match."
Raithen stepped into the room, staff at his side, with his usual mysteriously
calm smile. But this time his face had an expression of carrying something
burdensome, and the man looked down right tired.
"I will be able to offer my services, though, as an extra healer outside
the arena; curing the fallen."

QUOTE(Loranna @ Aug 16 2005, 04:42 PM)
"Kratos," Dram says, his eyes narrowing slightly,
"I would appreciate it if you came out and told me now."
A guard approaches from the main barracks area, but Dram lifts a finger, and
the guard waits, looking nervous.
He looked back toward Dram, "If you insist, I was possesed by a ghost from
my past, he was trying to destroy my life and then me."
He looked back at Cyndarius, "If it wasn't for him I would probably not be
standing here talking to you."

"Kratos," he said, sounding refreshed and awake despite sleeping on
the ground, "I suspect that what happened last night would be likely to
affect your fate and punishment, don't you?
"And you probably would be standing here, just not so
civilly," he added with a grin.
"What he says is the truth. He was possessed by a spirit."

"Anything wrong?" Tris asked.
"Ah, no." said Raithen, wincing as he stepped down with his right
foot. He seemed to be using his staff as a walking stick more, and it looked as
though he was preocupied with something. After zoning out for a few seconds,
Raithen noticed Tris again and smiled. "Nothing to worry about, my boy.
Just the old age creeping up on me..." His voice trailed off.

"I see," Dram says.
He walks over and unlocks the cell. "The Lady will want to talk to you
both then," he says, glancing over at Cyndarius. The Imperial soldier can
see a hint of dismay in Dram's eyes, or perhaps regret.
"Thank you Captain for assisting in this matter," he says. " ...
The ghost, then, it is gone?"

"Mournhold Tsei! City of light! City of Magic! City of
plenty of loot!" Falco laughed then somewhat maniacally.

"This is a foolish question, to someone offering to serve as our healer,
but can't you mend what ails you with magic?"
Or was it magic causing the ailment in the first place?

"Gone as in, out of poor Kratos's head, yes. Gone as in gone? What do you
think, Captain?
"Let's go see Lady Loranna," he said, clapping Kratos on the back.
"Maybe her judgment will be that we both get a bath and breakfast."

you are right Cyndarius I think I owe you a drink or two for your help, but for
now let us go see the lady." He looked back at Dram, "Yes the spirit
is gone but he will return I can tell you that."

"I'm afraid I'm not able to discuss my 'ailment' right now," said
Raithen. "Perhaps some time later, but for now you are best left in
mystery." He managed a rather grim smile.

have been 'spending' time in my home lately."
