QUOTE(Loranna @ Aug 18 2005, 02:17 AM)
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary
Goranthir, very shaken like the rest of the group by the book of Nalion and the
ending of the last arena battle, is in his room, composing a letter to his
grandmother. Though he has tried not to tell too many people, any who placed
their hands on Nalion's book know that he is the grandson of Queen Barenziah
through her daughter Morgiah, Queen of Firsthold.
His last talk concerned his Aunt, Elysana, Queen of Wayrest, and his interest
in "paying her a visit" while they're in High Rock.

OOC Summary:

dead when she arrived. She met Terryn in a tavern, who apparently is looking
for a werewolf. After finding out that the werewolf had killed Ahjaar's cleint,
she is now helping Terryn find the werewolf. They are at the cave entrance
where they think the werewolf is.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Ahjaar drew her sword, and the both went into the cavern.
They went deep into the cave, the whole time Ahjaar had an uneasy feeling. A
feeling that someone, or something was walking behind them. She had looked back
numorus times, but found nothing.
They searched the cave through and through, but found nothing.
"There's nothing in here, he porably left already." Terryn said.
The turned around to leave, but stopped.
A nord was standing behind them, dressed in wolf armor.
He had an insane grin on his face.
"Looking for someone?"

Terryn wasted no time. He drew his sword and charged the nord, who jumped out
of the way, then while Terryn was in recoil, kicked him in the back, knocking
Terryn down.
Ahjaar rasied her hands, casting a fireball, which hit the nord from the side.
It had no effect on him.
"What t-?" was all Ahjaar was able to say before she felt something
stab her in the ribs.
The nord had, with amazing speed, ran and stabbed her.

about things you will never understand! Your useless, Ahjaar!"
The nord changed to his wolfen form. He brought his jaws down upon Ahjaar's
head, meaning to crush it, but Terryn slashed his side. He feel back and
snarled.
The werewolf lunged, lashing at Terryn with his claws. Terryn dodged, and
slashed at the wolf again.
He lunged forward as the wolf recoiled, and stabbed the wolfen in the chest,
who, at the same time, bit at Terryn's face.
They fell down, sword in wolf and tooth on man.

In the werewolf's last atemps to save its already doomed life,
it dug its claws into Terryn, who struggled to escape.
A growl escaped Terryn's throat as he shape-shifted.
Two wolves struggled in a fight now. Terryn bit down on the other's neck,
keeping him from digging into Terryn's back with his claws.
After a moment, no more movement came from the other werewolf.
Terryn stood up and shapeshifted back to his mortal form.
He walked over to Ahjaar and helped her up.

The fishermen had pulled their boats in during the storm, dragging them up on
land. Anyone who had their ship still in the tossing, churning waves would have
to be suicidal, or desperate.
Llevian Rythos was decidedly not the former. He was being paid well, but he
wondered how well his gold would be spent if he drowned. As he finally brought
his skiff into the harbor, he turned to his passenger, who stood wrapped up in
a dark cloak that whipped around her body in the cold storm.
"You owe me more for that," he said.
"If the day had turned out sunny and delightful, would I owe you less?"
the Dunmer woman replied, ignoring his open hand, and stepping out of the boat
onto the dock.

"Why didn't you tell me you were a wolfen?"
Terryn was lloking through his pack for a healing potion.
"Because I didn't want to scare you."
He found the potion and handed it to her.
Ahjaar took the potion and drank it, her wounds healing.
"I know another wolfen."
She motioned tward the werewolf.
"Is he dead?"
"Yes. What was he talking about? When he was talking to you. Did you know
what he ment?"
Ahjaar shook her head and lied.
"No, I have no clue. He was obviously insane."
"It's kinda hard to belive he was making that up. Who's Luxi?"
Ahjaar hadn't told him about Luxi, or anything really about herself, for that
matter.

"I must be going now. My ship is waiting for me and I'm late."
Terryn stopped her. "Don't you want your payment?"
Ahjaar shook her head. "I wasn't working for gold."
Terryn looked confused. "Then why did you help me? There was really no

"Just gathering my thoughts for the moment before I start making more
preperations."
She looks at Falco and Tsei curiously, asking Falco " ... Where have you
been dear?"
"I followed this dimwit into the woods, after he departed."
QUOTE(Loranna @ Aug 18 2005, 05:47 PM)
Loranna frowns, unsure if Falco is playing dumb or is genuinely
unable to recall.
" ... There was a flash of white, then the storm hit," she says,
rising to her feet and looking at him with a more openly concerned
expression. " ... You remember that at all?"
"I remember it. What in Oblivion was this?"

Falco thought about the flash of light. I must be crazy.
Probably that bookk, messed with my head, made me mistake a flash of lightning
for some kind of white light. I'll just play it dumb and nobody will be the
wiser.

"A very fine dry place, Dagon Fel," Kethiah nodded. "I'm

She shakes her head. This is us you're talking to Falco; why are you pulling

looked mortified after touching the book; he was probably still rather out of

Slyvos was in his room, when the flash of light happened.
'... well... my old self would have wanted that to last forever.'
He lay on the bed, exhausted for some reason.
'why am I so tired?'
he thought back to the exploding pastry he tried to make. A cake really...
'oh, yah, that's why... had to clean that up before anyone saw it. Damn that

No one was in the tavern. The locals were all at home with their families,

"It seems we have the place to ourselves," Kethiah said. "Tell

He looked at the faces of the others, caught Goranthir's eye, and blew out his

Isidor turned to Tris as he entered. "Someone was looking for you. A woman

Goranthir smiled widely at Tris. "I was just saying to the group that this
method of making every mistake in the book, and then trying to do better next
time, is too time consuming of a technique. We need three or four really solid
battle plans, where each of us knows exactly what to do at the beginning,
middle, and end of the fight. We can't improvise and guess anymore."

the tight formation Gruznob used can be used to cast beneficial area effect

Loranna rubs the back of her neck.
"I'd been thinking of asking Slyvos to make me gloves with my favorite
snowball cantrip for emulating Gruznob's trick, actually," she says.
"And, maybe, learning how to cast a spell and fire off a shot from the
gloves just before, to shield the main spell. But I doubt I have time to learn
that trick."
"Thing is - we have archers. Archers can interupt spellcasters with
well-timed and aimed shots. We should Encourage our archers to start picking
their targets with an eye for keeping the enemy mages from getting any spell
off - especially spells meant to make our own blow up in our faces."
"Gruznob's formation did make it easy for everyone to shield and fortify
one another - and, conversely, easy for us to blast them initially with area
effect spells. Thing is, once our fighters got in close, we lost the advantage
- we no longer had clear lines of fire and thus couldn't take advantage of
Gruznob's tight formation. I think we should start encouraging our fighters to
focus their attacks on one target, preferably not the toughest, and also
preferably in a way to leave the mages clear lines of fire - I and Raithen and
Slyvos can all throw spells to keep enemies pinned down, or weakened, and otherwise
unable to interfere with our fighters; we should not rob ourselves of this
advantage."
" ... And this is where Goranthir's advice ties in. We all need to think
about what job we have on the battlefield, both to begin, and in the later
stages - and have back up plans too. I weaken the enemy in the initial
engagement, before the fighters close. When they close, I either switch to
buffing our fighters or helping to keep the other enemies pinned down and
unable to attack. If our primary healer goes down or we're taking a severe
pounding, I switch back to healing duties for a while. Raithen starts off with
calling out his summons; I can buff those as well, and I'm thinking they ought
to help Goranthir hold the defensive line instead of just attack. Once those
are out, Raithen switches to spells to keep the other enemies busy. If I get
taken out, he switches to weakening the enemies to support our fighters. Things
like that."
"And the fighters up front should be thinking the same way. Shai's agile
and presice; she should aim to cripple someone. Reichi's fast and dual-wields;
he should weave a web of steel. Isidor and Kratos are both strong and wield
heavy weapons; let them bowl people over. Things like that; working together to
take people out fast ..."

Anya walked away. Foolish girl. You should have seen it. He
wasn't interested in training you, he was interested in you.
The session had went exactly as planned. She tried hard to wrap her mind around
what he was saying, but it proved difficult since she had learned more
practical methods from an Imperial view of archery.
But then, Spooky changed attitudes. He became more relaxed, more comfortable.
More intimate. She had initially mistook it as an eager teacher, but that
wasn't his view apparently. By the time he had made an actual advance on her,
it was too late. She ended up huffing off, leaving behind a confused, hurt, and
angry Bosmer. So much for training.
As she walked back, she mulled over the book, a great many things shown to her.
About herself, Loranna, and Shaka. The others, she gleaned bits from, but it
was those two and herself that actually hit her.
An annoying headache had formed. Not too terrible, but enough to make her feel
gloomy.
Her thoughts strayed to that fateful night at the castle. Memories that had
flooded her, stark clear now, not muddied with time or anger. She had learned
that her sister didn't die that moment. Allania had watched her leave. It
wasn't something that an angry ghost had made to try to prove herself
justified. A knot formed in the pit of her stomach.
Puzzled, she entered the study as the others critiqued their last bout.

"Honestley, I think that plan is the best. Archers cover,
mages buff and drain, and warriors fight."

He had hoped his inattention hadn't been to obvious. "So, I think we need
to decide who's coming on this trip."
"I agree with Isidor. That would proably be the best plan."
Luxi looked at Loranna.
"Are you going to be part of the 8?"

My father has children from his first wife, and they look Altmer ... The people

Nobody noticed Raithen as he slipped into the room a half-hour

sounds the best, and so does everyone else's suggestions, but may I say that it
would be best if you started training as the chosen Eight? That way, you are

"Well, that's more or less what I'm thinkng of, just each
person knows what their plan is, and how it fits into the team," Loranna
says.
" ... Look, I've been spouting off a lot of battle plans lately, and any
of you who touched the book know, I am not a leader. I'm not even
the best planner. You who are going to be out there, fighting for the
world and trusting one another with your lives - now's the time to speak up,
say what plans you think you'd be suited for, and help put together a
basic strategy."
"I myself, say I'm in the rear, casting absorb spells on the enemies to
start, then fortify spells on our fighters as needed or else more absorb spells
to keep our fighters safe. And if need be, I switch to healing spells to
keep people alive. Leave me open lines of fire so I can support you and
keep your back safe, and my strength will aid the team."
She looks to the others, imploring them with her eyes to speak.
"I'm more of frontline fighter myself," Reichi said. "as i am
right now i'm a lighter fighter though. I can't readily deal with things like
the formation the Legionaires use. That is, unless of course, i can utilize my
Lycanthropy where we're going."
"Then i can beat the ever living [censored] out of just about anything at
close range," he said with a grin. "Even a Phalnax wouldn't prove too
much of a trouble. I've tore through sheilds in that form before."

could see the solid ground beneath her. "What is it you want? I thought
this was ended back then."
On the couch, Anya remained still. She began to sweat at the strain, but beyond
that, nothing showed of her waking.

Nalion had accompanied Loranna to Anya's chamber.
"She seems okay physically, though she's strained, yes, Loranna.",
Nalion said with a troubled look. "Her mind sems absent, though. This is
worrysome."

"Once again, my timing is impecable" Fernando remarked
dryly. "If she is physically sound, her condition is likely one only she
can pull herself out of. Mara be with her."

Shaka smoothed Anya's hair back, and nodded at Loranna. "I don't know yet
whether to go with the Eight or stay with Anya, assuming she doesn't recover in
time . . . ."
Shaka added to Loranna in a low voice, "I caught only a glimpse of you in
the book, my Lady, but it's surprising how little it changes things for me,
just as little has changed my opinion of Anya. You're still the same beautiful
and flawed woman, for all that you've been a goddess, twice it seems."
"Forgive me for all the times I was petty, or played the courtier, or
presumed that I knew what motivated you. You're still a mystery to me ... just
as with Anya."

her."

A day of Green-ness... yet it was not
A day of colour, and yet it was not
A day in her life, and yet it was not.
The towers of Daggerfall rose around the cemetary... yet they wern't there
The world For Lyssia Biennie took a turn that day. Within the crypts beneath
daggerfall the prosession marched, the kings and nobility of this great city
lay before them, as Baron Biennie was layed to rest. She could not remember
what the preist of Akay was saying,,, it was all blurry. and yet she felt
somthing deep within her heart... hatered. Hate for the world, hate for the
doctors that could not cure him, hate for her sister, who was not there for
him.
Lyssia opened her eyes... why was she remembering this, she wondered, her hate
of the world had long since gone, she had forgiven them all... but why?

Nalion returned with the others, yet before leaving Anya's room, he gave Shaka
a reassuring glance and a friendly pat on the shoulder.
As he was back, he harrumphed. "I think I do not have to stress that we
are working under a timeframe here again, do I?"
He gave off an air of unsettledness. He knew of the dangers they faced, but
actually seeing the world's frame unravel was a wholly different story.

Anya watch curiously, as the shade of Allania waved her hand.
Her vision flared and was replaced with the study, though from an od angle,
viewed from above. She watched as the others mulled over her, and evtually
resigned when they didn't see any physical ailment. The scene blurred, but one
person remained clear as day, Shaka.
"You love him, yes?"
"What is this, Allania, let me go." She tried to race foward, but
didn't see any progress, "Shaka!"
"Calm down. This is but an illusion. One made to show you what truly
happens there, but an illusion nontheless. Now, you love him, don't you."
Anya glared at her sister, "What business is that of yours, shade."
"There is your problem. You leave it up to excuses. You're just scared,
little girl. Even after what I did, you remain fearful and don't act. Do you
love him?"
She glared, but answered sharply. "Yes."
"Then why do you not act?"
"You were there. You know what has happened to me, why I don't like
intimacy."
"You foolish, little girl. I was there. It happened to me. I bear the same
scars as you."
"Don't patronize me! You hurt people after that!"
"Anger, passion. There is no difference. Both are very emontional acts.
Don't play innocent with me. Why don't you just act?"
She waved her hand, "But enough of this, we have more to talk about."
Anya watched her vision flare.

Shaka glanced over at the newcomer, who was apparently part Redguard and part
..... Imperial? Breton?
He respected the Ra'Gada he had met. The Nords, Imperials, and even Dunmer
liked to boast of themselves as warrior races, but the Redguards truly were. He
wondered sometimes why they hadn't built a wide-spanning empire as the
Imperials had, but it didn't seem in their nature.
"Shaka," he said, introducing himself to One. He seemed slightly
familiar. No doubt if Shaka had touched the Book longer, he would know of the
newcomer's past with Loranna's group.

out. But she still wondered...
