The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight

Posted by: Nalion Aug 19 2005, 05:44 AM

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!

'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.

So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.

Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.

Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Nalion
Nalion is a Breton mage of roughly 35 years. He wears his brown hair at a medium length, his matching brown eyes often look thoughtful. Nalion's figure is slender and of medium height. He is usually seen wearing a simple unadorned robe, as he never found armour other than his own willpower useful to him. He is a quiet man and usually plans his next steps, which sometimes leads to the conclusion that he is reluctant to act, though at the one or other occasion he has proven that recklessness isn't strange to him. Nalion is compassionate in a silent and inconspicious way, mostly because of the history of his youth.
Otherwise, he shares the classical attributes of the general Breton, Nalion is willful and intelligent, intensified by his profession, and has a faible for poetry and scholarly pursuit.

His proficiency lies within various schools of magic, yet he has also been known to wield his trusted steel staff - though more a symbol to him than an actual weapon - when magic fails. He was born in the month Sun's Dusk, thus he is graced with the Atronarch sign.

Planning is currently underway. The crown-trio originally planned to go, but with a lack of heavy-hitters on the Eight, they have since stepped down. If they are necessary, they will go; this will depend on other people's availability on the day of. Who knows who will faint and be haunted by their sister, or be struck by lighting?

ooc summary: Tris, male Breton, just went to the tavern with Goranthir after hearing that Kethiah, a Morag Tong assassin, was looking for him. He discussed what Goranthir had seen in Nalion's book, and was relieved to learn that Goranthir doesn't plan to tell his grandmother Barenziah that Tris is a Void Ranger. Kethiah, it turns out, is looking for the missing Herwyn Brand, Queen Elysana's spymaster.

Tris and Goranthir returned to the castle, where they are presently with the others.

Summary: Anya, the bosmeri rogue, is caught in a deep sleep, still attending to unfinished business with her sister's shade.

"Take me away from here!"

"Why, Anya? Do you not like it?"

Flames danced in front of them, a mansion on fire. A lone Imperial was fighting off guards. A memory all too well ingrained in Anya's memory.

"Look at me down there, Anya. Broken, cut, bleeding. Laying on the ground, calling for your help. But all you did was run. Like always, you ran away."

"But I thought you died, I already told you this."

"How can you be so blind. This isn't about me. This is about you. I've come to terms, why won't you?"

Anya looked away, but the image still burned, "I have too..."

"Have you? Or have you just blinded yourself? Did you just run away from your guilt?"

"Stop it..." Anya began to cry. Were was someone to hold when you needed him.

"The bedroom. The prison cell. The farm. Your new farm. It still eats you. Shall we?"

"No, don't make me!"

"Hmph." Allania brought her to the bedroom, before the attack, while still in the owner's service. "You let this putrid man have such a hold on? You're such a weak person."

"You said you weren't here to torment me!"

"Still won't see what is so clear, will you?" Allania brought her to a new location. One she didn't know. It was a strange world, one she couldn't put into words. Her and Allania hovered above it, thousands of beings she thought of as souls mulling about.

"Welcome to my new home. The reason I came for you. I have a personal interest in you, Anya, but this is why we want you."

"We?" Anya asked in a timid voice.

"Yes. We. You think as that this place is inhabited by mindless things? Oh dear."

"I don't understand." Anya stared at the scene far below them with uncertianty.

"I, we, simply want a person to understand. Your friends only think about themselves. Their homes. Their plane of exsistence. Their the ones that made the mess, and now they want to fix it. For themselves." Allania explained.

"What does that have to do with me?"

"To show you. As I've said this is an illusion, but one that shows the truth. You will watch your friends. Follow them, unable to help, unable to interact. You're not actually there, mind you."

"I don't understand." Anya still remained confused.

"You blind girl..." Allania stared at the ground as well. "Just watch and learn."

"Learn what? Do you want me to stop them? Do they know my companions are coming?"

"No, just me, through you. Maybe others. Who knows, I'm only interested in you."

"Why won't you allow me to help them."Anya was beginning to get fustrated. She was never a philsophical person. And know she was shoved into a posistion she didn't want, nor understood.

"My dear. There are planes of exsistence you'll never understand in your entire life. Secrets that will seem like a mad garble. Ideas that seem unintelligable. Watch and learn."

"But-"

"Watch. And learn." After that, Allania would say no more.

Anya's forehead began to burn with a slight fever. The simple illusion exacting its toll.

Terryn was at the Sadith Mora tavern, drinking Filn.
He was thinking about Ahjaar. She was... strange..
And what the werewolf had said to her... What did it mean?

Terryn had nowhere to go. He had no home.
Maybe he would go to Ald Raathim, see if he could help Lady Loranna.

Ahjaar had told him about Ald Raathim, and her freinds there.
She had told him about how they had helped her and her daughter without question.

Maybe he could go there to, and help Lady Loranna, with... what ever they did. Ahjaar hadn't gone that far into details, but he knew it was about the blue dawn.

And he could see Ahjaar again, and meet Luxi.
Luxi seemed like an interesting girl. Smarter then normal children.
And Nalion could help him with his demonolgy reasearch.
That would be nice.

He finished his Filn. Maybe he would go to Ald Raathim.

OOC Summary: Isidor, male Nord, is in the dining hall with the rest of the group, discussing battle plans, and who shall be the eight.

IC: Isidor had remained silent until now, and then he spoke up "Loranna, if I may, I'd like to volunteer." He saw that Tris and Goranthir had come back from the tavern. Maybe he'd go look for Kethiah later...

Isidor was feeling conflicted. He wanted to see Kethiah, before she left, but he didn't want a repeat of the incident with Zalliah. Not that the two were anything alike.

He turned to Loranna and said "Um, what do you know, of Kethiah? She mentioned you."

OOC Summary: Tsei, female argonian, is in the dining hall, watchinf with intrest as the group discusses their plans.

IC: "I'd like to volunteer, but I think it's best if I don't."

A servant tending to Anya entered and told Shaka that the Bosmer was feverish. He asked her to try cold cloths on Anya's forehead for a while. Shaka was out of ideas for now, unless Anya woke from her forced dream on her own.

It will be a matter of general consensus, I suppose. Group dynamics, it's really the sort of thing I studied as a diplomat back at home."

He opened the door, and entered the tavern, soaking wet.

Goranthir frowns a little at Kratos's name, but keeps his thoughts on that to himself. Too much argument over the Ordinator had happened already.

"Loranna, Shaka, Raithen, Anya, Reichi, Ahjaar, Falco, Isidor … Well, that’d be eight there. And a formidable eight without me.”

*

Tris was scribbing in his journal.

"I count... thirteen... possibilities. Loranna, Goranthir, Anya if she recovers, Ahjaar now that she's back, Reichi, Shaka, Isidor, Falco, Diamond, Teleran, Kratos, Fernando, Raithen. And that's assuming Nalion's too exhausted and Arynel will be too busy getting us there."

Isidor wrapped the blanket around himself, and said "Thank you. I met Loranna's father, Gram, in Dagon Fel. I travelled with him and the rest of his group back to Ald Rathimm, and here I am."

*

"Here we are," Kethiah agreed. Her blanket slipped a moment, but she quickly recovered. There was just enough time to tell she wasn't wearing anything under it. "I'm sorry, Isidor, I didn't mean to shock you."

She drew in a sharp breath. "If I take off the crown, Marein and Shai remain in it. What if Marein takes off the crown, while he's in charge of the body? Would it be only him who remains? Or would he just black out his senses again and give the body back to me?"

Marein flexed Diamond's fingers. "Well, might as well try it," he said. He reached up and placed his hands on the circlet, took a deep breath, and pulled.

Everything went black, and he was again alone in the little jewel with Shai.

Diamond frowned. "Well, I suppose that doesn't work, then," she said, wearing it again. "Pity."

Once Falco was out of the room he immediately headed for the castle's exit. The storm was still going strong nd nobody seemed o be out on the streets. Falco found it hard to see more than a few feet in front of him. He reached the arena. There Falco strung his bow and knocked an arrow from his quiver. He took a shot at the target, missing horribly. "I better learn to shoot this thing in bad conditions or I'm useless to the group." Falco would continue this for the rest of the night.

PLaas had seen Falco leave teh castle, wondering what he was up to, HE left also. As he followed Falco he saw him enter teh arena. He watched as Falco missed teh target. Then he knew that Falco must have felt doubt because his archery skill wasn't what it needed to be. "You shouldn't aim at the target, the wind will knock it away." HE said.

Falco didn't speak to Plaas, knowing that the imperial was the better archer. Falco continued his archery.

Nalion quietly joined Tris, Goranthir and Diamond and nodded to them in greeting. Over the past hours, the mage had been busy writing some thoughts down in the library, then checked if the book he brought with him was safe.
"Forging battle plans, Tris?", he asked.

Posted by: AND Aug 19 2005, 11:42 PM

Plaas kept silent at teh Argonian's wishes and continued to watch him. But soon he had gotten bored and he stood up and grabbed a bow next to Falco. The hard wind was blowing to his right. HE fired a practice shot and it hit the target to the right of him. Then he picked up another arrow from his quiver and aimed his bow at Falco's target, barely but enough so that teh wind would push his arrow to his target. Then, he released his arrow, and watched it cut through the foggy wind and then watched as it landed on his target, almost in teh center but not yet. The weather interfered with Plaas' shot too.

Isidor thought for a moment, and then looked Kethiah right in the eyes. "I love you." He didn't know what he'd say, but he knew he meant. He meant it that he wanted to see her again, too. He may have had unfinished business in Skyrirm, but this was what mattered now. He kissed her again. He looked at her reaction, and it wasn't what he had expected. He thought she'd return some of the emotion, but it didn't like she would.

It was rough, brown and was worn down from year of use. HE put his bow down and started to punch it. Then kick it. He had a feeling that someday, a hand-to-hand fight would determine his life, or lack of.

Sitting on the outer edge of the arena, a shadowed figure was barely visible through the fog. He observed the archers intently, watching their form.
They weren't bad.

He had spent too much time in the shelter of Imperial structures, and he knew he should get out more. The open air and thick, moist fog made this structure feel less restricting.
Perhaps it was paranoia that kept him idle, frequently indoors.
At least during the daytime.

On his left arm, a metal bracer gathered condensation from the moist air. He watched in boredom as a droplet gathered with others as it dripped down the cold, smooth surface, falling to the hard floor between his feet.

The shadowed figure, bored with the continual archery practice left the arena, concealed by the fog, unnoticed leaving just as he entered. Strolling, slightly hunched, up a dirt path, he headed toward the Castle.

His feet gathered a thick layer of moist dirt as he walked.

Loranna feels the skin on her scalp begin to tighten; she resists an urge to shake Isidor and say You big lug ...

"Isidor, tell me - do you honestly think you love Kethiah?" Loranna asks.  "You've known her for how long again?"

*

Isidor looked directley at Loranna and said "Yes. I do. I've known her for a day, maybe less."

He thought for a moment and then said "I'm not a moron, Loranna, no matter how I act. I know how I feel." He didn't mean to sound rude, but he was worried, and upset.

He sighed "Maybe I'm just overreacting." His face was a mixture of nervousness, fear, and confussion.

Plaas was bored in the arena, FAlco had already left, but he had just noticed, he made his way back to the castle.

"Isidor," Loranna says, "I don't think you're a moron - but I do think you're getting love and attraction confused. I've had this confusion myself; I still wrestle with the difference between the two, and I'm already a widow looking to remarry."

She smiles gently, putting a hand on Isidor's shoulder. "I think you're feeling lonely - you've been alone for the better part of ten years, you left someone behind back in Skyrim, you're around a lot of people who have relationships or are trying to form relationships ... you're lonely and you want someone to comfort you like other people are comforted. And Kethiah ... well, like I said, I don't know her well and don't know what she was thinking. But I suspect the two of you felt attraction for one another - attraction that might someday grow into love, but which isn't there yet."

The stranger approached the castle.
Cool breath escaped his lips, exhaling a sigh.
It's been so long, wandering continuously.

What is it that draws him now, to this place. So far from where he was?
His gut reactions always told him, wherever he ends up, he goes for a reason.
But it was superstition.

Hesitating, he loitered near the entrance. Quietly waiting for something to motivate him.

The air was still thick and moist. Flaring his nostrils, he savored the flavor.

Penfort Derry, Daggerfall

"I am amazed," said Paul, who hailed from Northpoint, "as to WHY Daggerfall City does not have a Temple to Arkay"
"Stop being amazed, Kynarith is the Patron god of Daggerfall, so all the other gods are shunned in turn for her" Arisa, who was originally a native of Anticlare replied
"I dont see why they dont worship the same gods in the same place" said Landon, as the three of them neared the Temple of Arkay, "I mean, its so much easier to just visit the one cathedral"
"At least we dont worship Tiber Septum as a god, a great man yes, but a god?" Paul quipped
"Septim IS a god!" Pined Landon, "He is the god of heroes!"
"You two, keep quiet, this is a holy place!" yelled Arisa as she dismounted her horse, and gave a deep bow to the colection priest who stood at the door collecting Alms, dropping ten gold coins into his bag, and entering the temple, the other two followed.

The priest was sitting there, looking somewhat nervous, but quicky arose to greet his visitors, "Greetings, greetings, would you like a warm drink?" he said, despite the fact it was quite hot in here
"Greetings, good sir! We were wondering if we could talk about a wedding?" Landon remarked popously
"hmm, I am a bit busy here, with all these ghosts popping up..." the Priest said, before Arisa placed a bag in front of him, loaded with gold
"And we were just thinking about leaving this donation. Perhaps the Temple of Mara will do it for us instead?" Arisa sighed
The priest looked into the bag, "When do you want the wedding to take place?"
Landon informed him of the date and the location.
"Hmm... it would be easier if I went with you" the preist said, before introducing himself as Elbent Aurili. He ordered the Almsman to ready a horse, and told his assistant to take over his role. An hour later, they were on the road back to Daggerfall

Something small, dark, and lightning-fast shot past the newcomer's legs, cutting through the pouring rain and disappearing into the grey ahead. It was a Bosmer, and he seemed to be carring someone's enormous undergarments like a flag.

Moments later, with a tread like the thunder overhead, an enormous, one-eyed, ugly orc came thundering up the pass.

"YOU THIEVING GIT!" It shouted, "IF I CATCH YOU, I'LL BRUSH MY TEETH WITH YOUR FLIMSY BONES!"

In a heartbeat, he too was gone, leaving the stranger alone again with the rain.

"Uuhhrrmmrm..." a slight grumble fluttered in his indecision,
"What kind of help do you offer a stranger like myself?"

S'kal'fei peeked out from under his hood, glancing up toward the Dunmer. After seeing the face of the guard, he immediately gazed back upon the ground.

EDIT:

A shout and a brush of air passed around S'kal'fei's body and he looked around in confusion. Taking off his hood and reaching for the pole-arm on his back, the now obvious argonian, searched in frantic paranoia.

"Yes, I know; as Tris and I both said, closure would be a good thing for you," Loranna says. "Especially if you're finding yourself attracted to someone else."

Tell me, what is the purpose of an establishment such as this?"

The Argonian obviously wasn't a local. The pattern and color of his scales suggested that his environment was a bit different. Primarily, though, his gait was different from the local Argonians.

"It seems a structure of this quality would house something important."

She somehow fails to mention why Isidor shouldn't worry about looking like an overanxious moron, feeling he doesn't need to be reminded he already does.

"You want to see Kethiah again? I don't know what to suggest about that. But if you do go, remember she may not necessarily feel as you do - and don't take that as proof you're bad, or that you screwed up."

Slyvos was in his room again, rummaging through his stuff under his bed again. It was such a nine forsaken mess...

'okay... now where did I put it?!'

He finally found it, pulling out a familiar looking amulet...

'yes... this old thing.' {ahhh... yes, all you'd have to do is make the potion... go ahead... you did it once...} 'and never again...'

He put it back in the chest under his bed, locking it to the point where only the most skilled thief, or the most power magics, could open it.

He got up, putting his robe on and sighing, wandering the castle a bit for now. A few more tries... that should make sure he could make the surprise.

For an moment, almost subconsciously, Loranna smelled something familiar. A scent was in the air, something she knew well. Though her mind was otherwise occupied, part of her tried to identify it, as if guessing what flower was in bloom in the herb garden below, or what Razbiah might be cooking for dinner.

It was slightly musky, though, not a spice. Very pleasant, even sensual. A human smell, a chemical formula that triggers somewhere in between our senses. It was Jazbet.

The moment she identified the smell, it had dissipated.

"So then I says to him, what kind of [censored] do you take me for? Abso-[censored]-tively I do!"

Cyndarius was trying to pay attention to Merey's story, but the rain on his short-haired scalp felt like hammers as the two Legionairres trudged toward the castle. There was no reason to run, since as soon as a person stepped outside, they were drenched.

Something caught Cyndarius's eye. Something stood out as bright in the night-black day. Up on the hilltops, north of town... something seemed to be burning; hundreds of little points of flame, like stars.

"What the [censored] is that?" said Merey, following his Captain's eyes, which were narrowing with recognition.

"Go see. Run. And find Spooky."

Merey instantly broke into a trot, heading toward the hills.

"Captain Cyndarius, Sir!" someone else was jogging up the road, one hand carrying a long spear, the other shielding his face from the rain. Cyndarius knew the man, it was Corporal Durstan from Fifth Cohort, but he wasn't one of the men Cyndarius had brought along. He should be back in Freetown, at the barracks.

A strange sensation crept up Cyndarius's spine.

"Sir! The town is secure, and Eighth Cohort reports that they still hold the docks!"

Cyndarius cocked his head.

"This blasted rain and the mud, though, Sir," Durstan continued, "is slowing the progress of the siegeworks. They say they might not be in position before nightfall."

The man looked angry. "I guess those bloody Azurites get one more day of comfort in their castle, eh, Sir?"

Cyndarius nodded. "Thank you, Corporal. Back to you post with you, now."

"Yes Sir!" said the young Legionairre, eager to please his captain, like all of the 103rd.

Cyndarius looked up at the steel sky, letting the rain pelt him in the face. "By the Gods above," he said, and then began to sprint for the castle as hard as his legs would run.

Then he turned to Tris: "Oh, no."

Marein looked around. "Oh, hell, no...No, no! Damnit, we finished them! No! Nine above, what the hell is going on? Damn Azurites, no..."

Cyndarius could see the castle through the downpour now. It was much as he knew it to be, but for the wooden hoardings reinforcing the upper battlements and a gaping hole in the south tower.

Above him, a horrid whine vied for dominance with the roaring of the rain. Looking up, he saw a dozen sleek, waspy parraptons, their bright wings fighting against the storm. He knew them as the third Centuria of the First; his own shock troops.

Squinting against the rain, he reached the tower door. "Please don't let it be barred," he quickly prayed.

He couldn't take the book with him, into the Void. If he could have, he would have taken it straight to the General and put a stop to all of this. He would have to flee the castle the old-fashioned way: using his feet.

The Lord of Moonguard sat in his castle, his fortress, fearful as always for the next day. Queen Elysana had mostly secured the territory, but the rumors...

The terrible rumors that came back from Morrowind, from the eastern borders of Skyrim and Cyrodiil, the word of the horrors the terrible creatures of Prince Azura's creation were causing and creating. It chilled him. He could not bear to betray his family, his honor, his dignity, and allow his town to fall. Elysana could assure him, but he would never be placated.

His wife, the Lady, ran screaming into his chamber. "Our Daughter," she shrieked. "Our daugher, Diamond! She's gone! Dear, she's disappeared! They've taken her! They've taken her!!"

A jolt struck the Lord in his heart. He shook his head desperately. "Calm, woman, stay calm. Diamond was here just this morning. There are no Azura-beasts in this town. There must be a reasonable explanation for this." He held her comfortingly, assuring her...but he would never be placated. Always he worried...

Anya watched the choas. Allania had linked her with her friends journey, and that entailed going back to the castle, where it begins.

"Why?" Anya was on her knees, though still suspended above, from a bird's eye view.

Allania stared impassively.

"Say something! Why are you doing this? I have to watch them fight and bleed, and you leave me like this? I'm more a hindrance than a help right now! What am I supposed to gain from this?" She was in anguish now. Tears streamed down her face, as she stared below, unable to help. Her helplessness returned full force, and it left her feeling weak and ill.

Chains seemed to have bound her in place, leaving her locked, and forced to only watch.

All the while, Allania still wouldn't speak.

Anya watched as her companions, her friends, risked themselves to save her limp, empty body.

Seeing Cyndarius charging across the hall, the ancient orc didn't take a moment to ask questions. Drawing his own short, heavy sword, he intercepted a screaming Daedra that swept down the great staircase.

Jazbet knew a few things you don't, daedra harlot.

That was the only saving grace in all this mess, the only thing that might give them a chance. Azura could devour and devour and devour, trying to fill the endless hole of her nature - but she could never possess CHIM, or even understand it. She wasn't Jazbet really.

Not all of him.

Not the part that understood what a Void Ranger was, and how one operated.

Tris whispered a string of power, and dove into the Azurites opposing him like someone breaking down a door with his shoulder. They went down, because he was stronger than any of them expected. Stronger than a man his size could reasonably be.

His shoulder broke with the impact; tears streamed down his face, but he kept running.

People who knew Jazbet when he was alive knew he had a knack for prophesy. He had reassured Loranna that she wouldn't die, as she believed, on the birth of Sen-Yedda.

It was a trick of his that grew more important after he became an Azurite, and torn out his own eyes in despair at being tricked by Azura.

Before he died, his visions had become clearer. He could see the distant future, but he could also see the immediate future. He could dodge a blow before it was thrown at him ... sometimes.

Now, Jazbet was in full mastery of his powers. He knew what the adventurers were going to do as they did so, and guided his guards and Winged Twilights appropriately.

He easily avoided Cyndarius and Gruznob's charge, and sent his guards to attack them to their best advantage.

Cyndarius hesitated in the doorway for only a moment, taking in all that was happening before him, then he charged Jazbet, sword raised.

"Loranna! Get everyone to the town! I'm told I hold that area."

"CAPTAIN!" Shouted Gruznob, filling the great doorframe as he rushed into the castle, "the Legion's he..." Seeing Cyndarius charging across the hall, the ancient orc didn't take a moment to ask questions. Drawing his own short, heavy sword, he intercepted a screaming Daedra that swept down the great staircase.

"Right!" Loranna says, turning to her companions. "We get Anya and Tris and make for town. At least the castle will keep the Twilights from flying so they can't swarm us from the air until we leave."

She begins casting spells to fortify peoples' endurances and speed. "Remember what we've trained for; now's the time to make it work, everyone."

Diamond: I have an idea.

Marein: Yea?

Diamond: Marein, you prepare a lightning spell, the strongest you've got. In the meantime, Shai, you handle movement. Now, on my signal, switch, cast, switch back, and repeat it...

Slyvos nodded, looking around nervously.

'well then, the longer we wait the more time they have to close in on us.' {let me help you... you know that together we are stronger then when we are alone} 'this isn't the time for this, if I die you do!'

Cyndarius frowned as Jazbet easily dodged thier rush and retreated up the steps behind his minions.

Gruznob filled the great staircase with his body, keeping the Twilights from flooding the hall as best he could.

"This isn't going to go any different than last time!" he roared, slicing the wing off of a Daedra and biting its head clean off its shoulders with his huge tusked mouth.

"We'll hold this stair!" Cyndarius shouted to Nalion. "Just get that book and get out."

Lotus was flying as fast as his small frame would take him. He had wandered far along the country side, not really worried as Anya always called him when needed. But after the strange, white weather, he began to flutter about nervously.

When Anya hadn't called him, he started to fly back. When he felt the call of her weaken, he flew as fast as possible.

The castle came into few, and Lotus screached in delight. He was about to fly in through the balcony when a smaller creature slammed into him. The Twilight screached her horrible call and began to slash at him.

Lotus quickly used his fire to blind her, and then used his dagger-like tail to gut the creature. She tumbled to the ground as he regained his balance. He quickly flew towards the entrance. High in the air, he flitted about in a worried fit. The few Azurites that bothered to fight him were quickly, if not easily, dispatched.

"I'm going with you after Tris!" yelled Goranthir.

"Darling!" Jazbet called up the stairs. "We have visitors, and I think I have the right boy for you."

Kethiah appeared at the top of the stairs, in a suit of black armor. Her hair was long and lustrous, befitting the Lady of the Castle. In her hands were twin knives.

Jazbet pointed to Isidor. "I've seen his blood on your hands. Make it come true."

Kethiah rushed down the bannister with perfect balance and speed, her knives flashing.

Tris heard a sound he hadn't heard for months now, except in his dreams.

The shrill squeal of Winged Twilights; the beating of wings.

One of them caught him out of the air in the middle of a jump and spun him, flipping him with her claws. The book hit the ground and its wrappings went everywhere. He grabbed it, clutched it to his chest. His feet slipped on blood when he tried to run. His blood.

"Sehtekemtayemhekemekem...." he gasped, struggling.

Loranna is heading toward Isidor, yelling to Slyvos "Help Nalion, dear!" as she hurriedly casts sanctuary spells on herself. Damnit, but her armor was still being repaired - not that she'd have been wearing it, either.

Damnit again; Caress and Bell Ringer were back in her room. She had Nalion's dagger and the blade the assassin used on her back in the bay. Some potions, the usual things she carried as a matter of course. Not what she would have packed for a sudden desperate rescue in an enemy castle ...

Her castle.

Jazbet's castle ...

Loranna stops herself from thinking along those lines any further; only pain and suffering awaited her there, and her friends needed her.

Isidor was being attacked - by Kethiah. The Lady of the castle ...

Stop it! Loranna tells herself, raising her hands and chanting her magic, casting a healing spell on Gruznob and Isidor as fast as she can.

She trusts others will come to their aid soon; Shaka had already managed to get ahead, hopefully they wouldn't have to go far to rescue Anya ...

She watched as Shaka and Isidor grabbed her. As the others rushed to their aid. Watched as Tris, who from this sight seemed like an etheral blur. She watched as Lotus, her longest and closest friend, was beset by these creatures. She screamed out in fustration. A hoarse cry from her sobbing.

Reichi by now, was doubled over in pain, his ring was no longer on his finger however. His Netch armor strained and tore as the Dunmer took on a more lupine form. His hands became clawed and furred, his netch boots were destroyed under the strain. Though they retained their intelligence, his eyes had a look of hunger to them as turned a golden color. Swiftly the change completed.

With a feral grin the white werewolf surveyed the battle, tattered pieces of his armor hung off his frame, The Dagger of Senses and Bloodfang were sheathed in a belt that had survived the shift. He flexed his clawed fingers, looking to the Azurites with a throaty chuckle.

The Twilight bodies were starting to pile up at their feet, threatening to push them down the stairs, but still enemies streamed down the staircase. The siege had pressed most of Jazbet's army into the castle, it seemed, and there was no end to them.

With a wordless glance to Gruznob, the two remaining warriors broke for the front gate, hordes of screaming daedra and blue-eyed soldiers hot on their heels.

Outside, it was still pouring rain. Fueled by tar and pitch, the castle top burned like a giant's torch, regardless. The sun had probably set behind the unbroken clouds, and the only real light came from the burning tower.

From above, where the Legion's parraptons circled the castle, the line of fleeing heroes looked tiny in comparison to the dark cloud that erupted from the gate, just behind them.

"'Bout [censored] time! Shouted Merey above the screaming and the rain. He charged up to Loranna on an Imperial-bred horse, two Cohorts of mounted soldiers charging past him to engage the Azurites.

He offered her a hand up, as did other soldiers to the rest of the weary group.

As they rode hard for the relative safety of the town, the whine of diving parrapton wings could be heard behind them, covering their retreat.

Loranna had actually wondered once or twice, especially after talking with Queen Barenziah, what it might be like, to have to flee her home due to warfare. She now knew what it felt like.

It was worse than realizing a year later that your father wasn't coming back.

Dad ... was Gram even alive in this world? Would he have found himself suddenly shunted here, like they had ... of course he would have; he was a hero, just like she and her friends. He was here ... but that didn't mean he was still alive ...

Loranna feels her tears drip downher cheeks, and she corrects herself; fleeing one's home like this was much, much worse than realizing a year later that your father wasn't coming back.

Ladies and gentlemen ... the Blue Twilight we avoided once, has become a reality.

All hail Azura, who have not hands of their own.

LOCK ON ...

Loranna
