The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Playing Houses
Posted by: Stargazey Nov 8 2005, 06:24 PM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
===
Newcomers, we ask you to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855
before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. Also, read
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as
possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.
To help you get up to speed, here is
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html told from my character Loranna's
perspective. This summary doesn't cover everything but it sums up some of the
bigger events our campaign has covered. Note: I will probably update and edit
this summary as time goes on.
===
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of
disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character
at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are
encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for
some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is
not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there
for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP
You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!
===
IMPORTANT: WE HAVE JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW RAIN'S
HAND/SECOND SEED IN THE RP (i.e., April/May)

He had been expecting a punch to the face, or a chop to the neck, or having his
tail torn off and being beaten to death with it. A slap was quite unexpected.
"I definately deserved that. Tsei, I want to tell you something, I'm sorry
for the pain I've caused you. I'm sorry for what I have done. I'm sorry for
everything, Tsei. But it is only now, when I am soon to die, that I realize
something. I love you." He stared was so overcome with a thousand
different emotions that it was hard to get the words out.

The courtroom was still, though it was filled to capacity.
The Tribunal handed their verdict to the King, who read it once, and then again
to the crowd, his eyes on Falco.
"It is the opinion of this Tribunal, having examined the evidence, that
the Defendant, Falco Redflash, is innocent of the crimes of treason and rape,
and guilty of the crimes of espionage, murder, extortion, conspiracy, and
piracy. It is the opinion of the court that the Defendant remains a danger if
allowed to live, and having consulted the Book of Veloth for appropriate
punishment, we have decreed that he is to be drawn and quartered.
The Defendant is to be dragged on a hurdle from this place to the Plaza
Brindisi Dorom, where is to be hanged by the neck but removed before death.
Thence, he to be disembowelled, and the genitalia and entrails burned before
his eyes; his heart shall be the last to be removed and will be shown to the
condemned before the entrails are burned. He is then to be beheaded and the body
divided into four parts. These parts are to be put on boats and sailed to
Gnisis, Vivec, Sadrith Mora, and Dagon Fel as a warning to all privateers in
the employ of House Redoran that such activities against the King and people of
Morrowind are not legal nor to be tolerated.
By the Lady, Lord, and Wizard, it shall be so. This matter is closed."
The King folded the verdict in half. He did not smile.
The crowd roared its approval, and word spread fast. Thousands gathered along
the streets to witness Falco being dragged through the city streets to the
plaza and his death, to hurl stones and insults at the Butcher of the Bay.

with no emotion evident on her face.

The Nymph and Noggin, Ald Raathim
Kethiah heard about the verdict shortly after it was reached. She let Isidor,
Loranna, and all other interested parties know that Falco Redflash, former
companion of the heroes of Ald Raathim, and former Butcher of the Bay, had been
executed.
She did not go into details unless the person asked. No reason for that.

Serath Rendil
Serath arrived at Ald Raathim by boat, the journey from Mournhold being safe
and calm - which did much to appease his mind (constantly tortured by the
thoughts of the Civil War that was going on). When he got to the docks, he
asked a nearby Imperial:
"Do you know where I could find the School?"
"No idea, dark elf. I just got here a few days ago. Came on that boat over
there - see?" - He says poiting to a ship - "But you could try that
tavern over there. The folks there will probably be able to help you."
"Well, thank you, serjo." And he walked to the tavern he had been
pointed to.
He entered the tavern, the intense smell of people and mead flowing instantly
into his nose. About half of the tables were full, but he decided to go to the
counter. When he was heading to hit, an old man turned to him and said:
"The brown man!"
Serath ignored him, and he later saw the old man leaving the tavern
disgruntled. He finally arrived to the counter, and asked the bartender:
"Do you know where I could find the School of Ald Raathim?"
----
Yilier Res
Yilier was calmly minding his own business in the tavern, when a robed man
entered. He was to ignore him, but...
tHE brOWn mAn!_!!
And Yilier quickly turned to the man and yelled:
"The Brown Man!"
He was once again ignored, Yilier was getting tired of being ignored by the
folks in this tavern, and decided to just leave - he left the tavern and
decided to wait for Slashes-With-Claws to finish him shift over there.

The Nymph and Noggin
Trason looked around and saw a strange look on some of their faces. He had
heard the Butcher was an evil being, and he also heard of his recent
mutilations. Trason thought it was good that something was being done about it,
but he saw the others had thought otherwise. He didn't say anything.
He took another sip of his brandy and kept to himself.

"I do not particularly agree with the way how the punishment was done. But I cannot feel much passion for Falco. See what he has done after Loranna exiled him. Now exile him again? I'm usually trying to be forgiving, but I cannot feel much for someone who has betrayed his friends, those who literally bled for him, and one who has killed brutally.", Nalion swallowed hard, fighting down anger. It was an unusual sight.
Isidor nodded, and said, "I just ... I didn't want to give up on him, I
guess."
QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Nov 8 2005, 08:39 PM)
"An old neighbor of mine was on one of the boats the Red Falcon visited," said a merchant at a nearby table quietly. "His mother won't be provided for anymore, and she got to hear how her only son was mocked and descecrated after death. I doubt very much the pain the Butcher felt compares to the pain that one victim's mother will feel for the end of her days."
Isidor looked at the merchant and didn't know what to say. The man was right.
Ingmar came downstairs, and got a drink, while the others talked.

In the castle study ...
" ...And so the crowd roared with delight at the fate of the
Butcher," recounted the red-haired, beared man to his daughter, downing a
glass of wine and frowning fiercely at the drink. "That clip-eared bloke
wasn't smiling at all; course, with him you can never tell what's an act and
what's real."
The blonde-haired woman stares into her own goblet, silver tearstreaks making
her look like she was weeping. "May your soul know rest Falco," she
said, sipping her own drink.
"You were one of the ones who brought him in, right?" Gram asked,
raising his eyebrows.
Loranna nodded. "Might have been kinder ..."
"No use fretting over that; you did the right thing and I'm proud a Pyrel
was there," Gram said in what passed for his reassuring voice, his words
rumbling through Loranna's ears.
Loranna looked at her father for a moment. " ... You know, you never spoke
about how you felt when I banished him ..."
Gram shrugged. "I've gotten myself thrown out of enough places to know how
things are. I knew I saw something in Falco and even when he was begrudging the
Emperor being saved and thinking you all were doomed to die, he still got up
and fought - and that was enough for me. And if I ever caught him stealing my
purse of course he'd have had his head taken of long before this." The
Nord man chuckled, muttering "Do we have to have this Wayrest stuff?
Haven't you got any mead in this tower of yours?"
Loranna simply glared at her father for a moment, which made him shrug.
"Loranna, you need to learn to relax, Pyrel blood in your veins
notwithstanding."
"I am relaxed," Loranna countered.
"Pah; you've got the same look on your face I always had," Gram
averred. "The same look your son'll have, mark my words." The bear of
a Nord grew thoughtful. "Wonder how much of his father's build he'll end
up inheriting; no offense to Slyvos of course but a good Nordic boy's gonna
need a strong build and his is a little ..."
Loranna raised her hand and Gram was engulfed in a shower of magic, covering
him in frost and snow. The Nordic man shook his head and said "You could
have just slugged me, you know."
"I'm taking it easy and I haven't had a good excuse to use a frost spell
in ages," Loranna retorted, frowning and shaking her head. " ...
Sounds like it was an interesting trial; I'm surprised you were there."
"I may spend a lot of time on my own but I remember who I fought
beside," Gram told Loranna, raising his goblet. "Good luck to you in
whatever afterlife Argonians have, Falco; maybe next time you'll have a better
go of it."

Back at the Castle ...
"So, months of fighting down in the south and near as I can see, the
situation hasn't changed much," Gram says, having resigned himself to
Wayrest wine to drink. "Hear I missed one hell of a battle though back on
the island."
"Yeah, a real hell of a battle," Loranna agrees, watching her father
finish his wine. Gram blinks a bit.
"What?" he asks. "What did you do this time?"
"Huh?" Loranna mutters.
"You've got your guilty look; what, did you get knocked out during the
battle or something?" Gram asks. "Girl I know what fights are like;
it happens ..."
" ... You're not upset that I ran off into the middle of battle
pregnant?" Loranna asks, somewhat incredulous.
"Well now admittedly that could be considered unwise," Gram says,
shrugging. "But like I said, you got Pyrel blood in your veins; it's
natural for you to go where the adventure is. All us Pyrels have been that way;
I've told you that once, I've told you a hundred times."
Loranna just stares at her father, thinking to herself just how messed up her
upbringing was - yet again. Gram for his part doesn't seem to notice the look
in his daughter's eyes this time.
"Anyway, I've been thinking when you do have the boy I'll probably settle
down in Ald Raathim, or at least try to," Gram continues. "Fatherhood
didn't work out too good for me I know but grandfatherhood I might be able to
handle. Grandfathers always have it easier than fathers anyway and I'm hoping
your boy will be the next one to wield my father's sword ..."
"What if it's a girl?" Loranna asks bluntly.
"Loranna, no offense to your friends but Flametongue's not really suited
for a woman," Gram protests. "Now, Frostkiss maybe and I've been
mulling over teaching you how to use an axe if only so you can show your next
kid the trick if I don't make it, but Flametongue ..."
Loranna wonders if her eyes will fall out from staring at her father so much.
"Dad if I didn't love you I think I'd ..." She pauses a bit,
finishing her thought in a more quiet voice. " ... bury you under a ton of
snow ..."
"My daughter the Dibellan Fyse Hag." Gram shakes his head, then
frowns, noting Loranna's disquieted look. "What is it?"
Loranna says " ... There was something I haven't mentioned yet about the
battle ..." Emotions well up in Loranna's throat, as she looks to her
father.

Carnage still lay about on the battlefield, and it was being taken care of but
Kratos worried about the soldier's morale. The fortifications were being
rebuilt but inside the canton they were celebrating and mourning the fallen by
sporting and drinking to their health in the afterlife.
One sport that had attracted everyone's attention was the wrestling matches
Kratos had set up. Mats covered the floor and matches were going on everywhere
but the one that seemed to draw everyone over was the match between the
commandant and his son.
They shook hands and got low into their stances. They circled the ring in the
middle until Ivelaes broke the silence by shooting at Kratos' knees to take him
down with a double leg. Kratos quickly sprawled and landed on his son as he
shot under him. He maneuvered around until he had grip on both of Ivelaes'
arms, bringing them both back into a double armbar. He proceeded to circle
around to increase the pressure and turn him over on his back but Ivelaes
quickly escaped and scored a point for it. The referee called caution on Kratos
and told him he was down in the referee's position as he tried to lock his
hands.
Ivelaes chose to take Kratos on neutral. They both circled the ring again until
Ivelaes shot and got hold of the back of Kratos' knees. He drove his head into
Kratos' hip and lifted him up as he slammed him into the mat for a takedown
score of two. Kratos quickly rolled onto his stomach as Ivelaes went on the
attack by grabbing his father's arm and putting him into a gutwrench. Kratos
turned the tables by escaping and sticking the gutwrench on his son. He rolled
him and scored three points as Ivelaes escaped once again for another one
point. The score was four to four as the referee signaled stalemate and the
match had come to a conclusion.
Kratos held up his son's hand and the Muatramer cheered. The now tired Kratos
and Ivelaes walked off the mat and sat down to watch the other soldiers
wrestle. There was nothing better than a little friendly competition between
father and son.

Gram Pyrel was walking away from the castle, having had a longer
covnersation than he nticipated with his daughter - his daughter, who still
seemed to have the eye of some of the Daedra, judging by the story she just
told him ...
He stopped just before entering the tavern, thinking for a moment on what was
just said:
===
" ... You know," Gram had pointed out, trying to be reasonable,
"it doesn't necessarily mean your baby or Slyvos are going to die young.
It may just mean you'll end up outliving them a bit ..."
"What mother wants to outlive her own child?" Loranna had asked,
hotly, and Gram's face had fallen, because Gram knew what a father at least
felt like when their son didn't live beyond him. Or at least, when a son was
born stillborn, which amounted to much the same thing.
Now, here was something he never knew how to deal with; his daughter was upset,
her tearstreaks glistening with tears, muttering "Or he could have meant
..." and looking at him with a look that made further words uneeded. And
Gram had two realizations; he wasn't sure what to tell his daughter to ease her
concerns, and he didn't know how to tell her how he felt to see she didn't want
to see him die.
It was madness, that it was - he was a warrior, always had been and always
would be a lone wolf, writing his destiny with sword and axe. He'd never known
how to be a parent, and now he needed to know, because while he was a poor
father it wasn't from lack of love for his child. And so he took his daughter
in his arms and patted her back and spoke the words that managed to find their
way from his heart to his lips.
"Your father, your child, your husband and your friends, all have the
blood of heroes in their veins. No matter how much time the gods alot them in
this life, they will live those lives to the fullest - live lives you can be
proud of. Don't cry for thinking you'll bury them; cry for the joy they'll
bring to your life, and to the lives of all they touch. That is the undeniable
birthright of every hero born and made, and yours shall have it, or else I'll
cut a path to the heavens and demand justice from Stendaar Himself, and ask
Kyne to weep tears for the fallen heroes to let them have their glory."
===
He shakes his head, swallowing hard; right now, he needed a drink, and badly.
He enters the tavern and roars "A barrel of your finest mead! And meat
enough to go with it!" to the nearest barmaid.

“There is no man without guilt,” Arynel said, joining the others, “Falco was not innocent, and so he has received punishment, whether or not it be just I cannot say. We here are not innocent, and we each have been punished, or will be.”
"As I've said before: Ald Raathim, place of second chances. Why we all
ended up here, probably."
Shaka drank the stout thoughtfully, however, after hearing Arynel weigh in.
Maybe a mortal's short lifespan was one form of punishment; and a
near-immortal's span of centuries or millennia was another. And there was
always the question of what lay after one's life.

Gram raises an eyebrow at Nalion, but doesn't insist that he
meant the whole barrel for himself; from the looks on his friends' faces,
generosity was called for.
"It is good to see you all again," he says, giving everyone a quick,
tight grin and letting his beard give his face an affable look. "And good
to see Isidor's tavern has continued to do good business while I was
gone!" He chuckles, his eyes crinkling.

"Thanks, Gram," said Shaka, taking the mead. As he toasted Arynel and
Gram, he nearly paused while drinking, but finished and set it down. A thought
had hit him, though he wouldn't say it aloud just yet.
Seeing Gram had just brought to mind the prophecy for his daughter Loranna.
Shaka and Loranna had assumed Sheogorath meant that Loranna's two loved ones
would die violently, or before their time.
But what if the prophecy merely meant that Loranna would live so long as to
outlive her loved ones' natural spans? Be another Lady Allerleirauh, who had
been rumored among the company to have four centuries.
Stupid, Shaka admitted to himself. He was speculating wildly, with too few
facts. Better to stick with this unofficial wake for Falco.
Posted by: Slashes-With-Claws Nov 9 2005, 09:35 AM
Slashes-With-Claws was in a very bad mood. He had recently
learned about Falcos brutal execution in Mournhold. Remembering the state that
Tsei had been in last he saw her, and her saying she was going to Mournhold for
something importent he made the obvious connection.
What had angered him was not that Tsei had associated with one such as the
Butcher, but that she was hurt by Falco and Helseth. Falco had apparently left
her when he became a pirate, an awful thing to do, leave the ones you care
about to become a pirate. And Helset, he had chosen the most brutal and painful
method of execution made him no better than the Butcher himself. Slashes was
sickened by the thought that he was fighting for Helseth and actually
considered leaving and going back to the marsh, but he had a duty to Loranna
and could not just leave.
Although Slashes had not know Tsei for long at all he still felt something for
her, perhaps it was just the natural reaction of seeing a female of his race.
What ever it ws he was concearned about her, and worried he may never see her
again.
He stormed into the tavern and groweled at the barman, "A Flin." A
hand resting on the counter, the claws steadily digging grooves into the wood.

Yilier Res
Yilier was standing near the door, waiting for Slashes-With-Claws to return. He
was quite surprised when he saw the argonian enter the tavern without even
looking at him! He followed him slowly. His cane was stuck in the floor.
Swearing quietly, he took it out. The dunmer robed man ( The Brown Man! ),
passed by him, and told him nothing. After he managed to "unstick"
the cane, he approached the argonian, who by now had already gotten near the
counter and asked for a drink. Yilier could swear that he was upset - it was
obvious, even to someone with such little experience with argonians.
"What's with the long face, scales?" - He said with a smile - "I
mean.. Commander.. Sir!"

Slashes turned and glared at the old man, his face showing strong anger to even
the untrained eye, some would say it looked like a predator ready to strike.
Slashes was about to say something rude when he caught himself, the dunmer was
just trying to be friendly. Slashes picked up his drink.
"I do not like the ways of your soft-skinned king." He groweled.
"And I may never see the marshsister, who I had wanted to get to know,
again."

Serath knocked on the large wooden door, and seconds after a young breton woman
opened it.
"Who would this be?"
"My name is Serath Reil, sera. I have been sent from Mournhold to serve as
a teacher in this school - I have a letter for Mistress Dalavesa Rathryon which
comproves that."
"Oh yes? Let me see" - she inquired before seing the name in the
letter - "Yes, it would seem so. Mistress Dalavesa Rathryon is in her
office, I will send you in."
"I would be most thankful." -Serath said with a smile.
The breton woman led him through the corridors. "It's good we finally got
some help around. It's not easy to run a school with so little staff. ... Here
we are. " - she said, when they arrived to a specific door -
"Goodbye" - She smiled.
Serath entered the compartment. It was regular sized, and there was a big
bookshelve on the back of the room. In the middle of it there was a desk, a
dunmer woman working in it. She raised her eyes to Serath when she saw him
enter.
"Ever heard of knocking?" - She said jokingly. Serath blushed. -
"Hah, nevermind. what brings you here?"
Serath handled her the letter. "I think this will speak for myself better,

"Hum... Everything seems to be in order," - she looked at the letter
again - "Serath. However, as you may have noticed, today is Sundas, and
thus there is no school. We can provide for accomodations, but perhaps you want
to relax a bit first after such an extensive voyage?"
"Well, that would be true. I am sure Julianos' wisdom can wait a few hours

It is down near of the dock, you must..."
"I have been there, sera, no need to give directions."
"You have? How nice. Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow? Close the

Serath did so, and went through the corridors all by himself - the Breton lady
was nowhere to be seen. After a while, he was back at the tavern. He entered,

I wonder if the abolishment of slavery was really the true responsible. That's really one of the trademarks of this city, and many point it to be the true factor that led to this.. prosperity."
"Ah," Isidor said, with a genial grin, "well, good luck with the
new job. And yes, Ald Raathim is a pleasent place. But, I have some work to do,
at the moment, so, if you'll excuse me ..." Isidor nodded to the man, and
went to tend to other customers.

"The restructuring of the trade routes is more directly responsible, Kena
Sarath," said Kethiah, stepping past, having just greeted one of the
regular merchant traders. "Ald Raathim hasn't had slaves for many years

Dar'Tessir walks into the Nymph and Noggin. He has been walking
around the town seeing the sights and getting his bearings.
He has begun to wonder if the headmisstress of the school will ever talk to him
about the position of librarian as Nalion said she would. He didn't mean to be
impatient but he only had 10 septims to live on and needed a job and a place to
sleep soon.
He sat down at a table, took out his quill and inkwell, opened his torn and
noted copy of The Art of War Majic and began to read and wait.

"Every one of the merchants I've met with so far think that Falco deserved
even worse, and they're grateful to the King for giving a clear message to any
who might follow in his path," Kethiah shrugged. "But, yes, to go
onto a more pleasant subject, we do have several rooms available. Less
expensive accomedations at the Noggin, which is our more boisterous part of the

others from following in that path, by showing them what awaits them,"
Kethiah replied, taking the requisite amount of gold for two nights stay from

Serath bowed as the lady left, and left the tavern, headed to
the school. There, he took his possessions that he had left there and returned
to the tavern. He then asked a dunmer man where his accomodations were, and
went to his room. He found it quite confortable. He layed on the bed, a book
open in front of him - his worship of Julianos. He fell asleep like that.

Slashes-With-Claws had slept poorly. The recent news and events
playing on his mind. But it had given him a chance to think some things over,
most specificly about Tsei. He realized that, having known her for but a few
days and seeing her only a few times, he never had really loved her. His
attachment had been purely instinct, she was after all a rather nice looking
female argonian. He also realized that Tsei probably would not have been right
for him anyway. Tsei had been in love with Falco, a known rouge and killer, and
so totaly different were the two men that Tsei would probably never have loved
Slashes. She acted oddly too, more like the soft-skins, she could not even
understand Hist.
Slashes sighed and dressed himself. Remembering that his Argonian battle armor
should be repaired by now he set out for the local smith.

"reunion". In the distance, he saw a ship bearing the royal flag of
Morrowind sailing towards the shore of Ald Raathim. His first thought was that
it would be Helseth "Nah, Helseth would never come here, must be some sort
of emissary. Let's see what he wants." With that, he waited on the shore.

Anya stared at the mirror in her room at the castle. Her eyes
focused on the three white scars running along her should. She rubbed them, the
pain gone but an ache no magic could heal remained, an ache not caused by the
wound.
In her not to distant past, one lesson Vondicus taught stood out. He was
showing the different techniques of various weapons, clubs, axes, claymores, so
she would always have a weapon she could use. At the end, he asked her a
question, "Why did you choose this path, one filled with violence,
blood?" She had answered it was because that's what he taught her to be,

She stared in the mirror, rubbing her shoulder, still not quite sure what the

The ship came into harbor, and a small group of diplomats disembarked. The rest of the crew went into the Nymph and Noggin to wait while the diplomats made their way up to the castle to seek an audience with Lady Dres Loranna.
In the castle, Loranna makes things ready to entertain the diplomats who have
arrived in her city. She has her servants prepare rooms for her guests and a
feast made up while she greets the diplomts in her study, her finest vintages
availble to slake their thirsts.
"Greetings my friends, and welcome to Ald Raathim," Loranna says,
clad in one of her more formal dresses of red and gold. "I trust your
journey was safe and pleasant?"

Serath entered the tavern, and asked for some kwama eggs to eat. After Isidor
served him, he sat down and started to eat. Near the counter, he could see the
argonian talking to the crewmen - they seemed acquaitaces. After they waved
goodbye, he got up and greeted the argonian with a smile:
"Serath Reil, priest of Julianos. You'll forgive a newcomer for asking
some questions, but I couldn't help it but see you with your guard standing
while those diplomats disembarked, and figured that maybe you could explain me
- do these .. visits .. happen often? Or is this strange to you too?"

middle-aged Dunmer noble of a slightly saturnine aspect, so the smile was more
a part of a ritual of greeting than a felt emotion. Loranna had seen him at the

Vaan sat under a tree in the Temple Plaza of Mournhold. He was
taking a short break from ever more busy work.
He was happy, victory had been achieved through the execution of the butcher,
it was a victory in the minds of the people, and Propaganda was probably, and
hopefully, going to exploit it nicely.
Vaan was fully glad, and relieved, that Falco Redflash had been brutally
executed. The privateers death joyed the people, and this made Vaan happy, this
would increase morale greatly.
Vaan did not consider Faclo as a living being, more as an idea in the head
(which, in truth, was what the "butcher of the bay" only ever was).
It was cold, but Vaan had never known falco, so he didn't need to see him in
any other way. Yes, Falco was an idea, one that could be used in all sorts of
ways. Vaan was glad that the idea was now being used for the benefit of the
Royalty and New Temple, and no longer for fear, which was not beneficial. Then,
in the mind of this Muatramer, the idea was forgotton, never to be remembered
again.
Vaan stood up, and headed back towards his office. There was much work to do,
preparing protection for the upcoming summit.

Isidor heard that the feast would be taking place, and went to look for to Kethiah, and ask her if she would be attending.
Kethiah left the castle after meeting with Loranna, and as the misty spring
breeze ruffled her cloak and brushed her shoulder-length hair away from her
violet-colored eye, he came across Isidor on the docks.
"How are you doing, killer?" she asked.

"Yes, marshfriend is an acceptable greeting. Welcome to the city, I am Commander Slashes-With-Claws, of the army of Ald Raathim. I do not know much about the school, I have never had reason to go there or learn about it. You will be working there?"
"Aye, I will. Odd thing is, I still don't know doing what" - he said
with a grin - "Have to go meet Master Nalion. Unfortunately, still haven't
been able to meet him. Oh well, guess I'll only be starting my job once he
gives me a position. Oh, and excuse me the topic change, but those diplomats on
the beach; everything alright? It's no bad news, is it?"

"I would not know for certain, they are most likely here to talk about the
war with Lady Loranna. Perhaps an invasion of Vvardenfell."

"Maybe... Still sounds odd. A war would have brought more swift diplomats,
not ones that would come and wait for a banquet, like these ones. Oh, yes, had
forgotten to mention it to you - they are holding a banquet at the castle. But
you probably knew it already, being the Commander and all. I wonder if Master
Nalion will be there...."

"I had hear a little about it, I am often busy with my duties and do not
hear all the news. I would expect that all the important people of the city
will be there, perhaps Nalion. Maybe you should go, then you can meet the the
people of the town. Have you met the most honored Lady Dres Loranna?" A
banquet sounded enjoyable, Slashes always liked to eat and to talk with people.

"Absolutely, let's go get changed into something appropriate,"
Kethiah smiled, taking Isidor's hand and leading him to their rooms in the
tavern. "Loranna also wanted me to go with her to Mournhold tomorrow, but
I said that I couldn't."

"No I haven't, and would certainly like to meet the Lady whose name is in
the mouth of the world. I will, then, follow your advice. Will you also go? If
you do, we could always go together."

"The King is having a summit of some of his allies, that's what the
diplomats are here for," Kethiah replied, slipping into a long wine-dark
gown. "They haven't said what the meeting is about, only that Loranna
should bring her most trusted advisors ..."

Serath waves Slashes-With-Claws goodbye and heads to his room, where he changes
to a more formal robe than the one he was wearing at the time. He then goes
back down at the tavern and orders a comberry juice to keep him distracted
while he was waiting for the time to go to the castle.

"Still, it couldn't hurt to pick up a few more clothes. You," he said
with a grin, "look beautiful."
